Really enjoyed the story and the character's
These authors have a very good ability to bring you into the story/action with their handle on being able to describe surroundings, characters, sounds and what is going in the moment. However, the overuse of italicized expletives is a bit juvenile and even annoying. I mean you can only read so many "Schnict's, Hyurk's, Gah's, Urk's Grargh's, Ach's, Ugh's and hiss, hisses, hissing and Hss" before it becomes irritating especially since they have such great descriptive abilities.

First off, I DNF'd at 12% of the series Kindle so one might think I hadn't read enough to assign Stars, especially when it's 2 Stars.
Well, I was astounded by a gaping plot hole that is utized to avoid difficult confrontations as well as to let the Bad Guy keep doing what he's doing against the MC.
To wit: I was enjoying the trope of the MC being singled out for a great challenge that he (it is explained in detail) is the only one able to surmount. But unbeknownst, the Bad Guy explains that hush-hush stuff to his minions and sends them to thwart our Hero.
So, our we see our Hero fighting his way past mortal D&D dangers to have his Indiana Jones-moment -- only to find the minions awaiting.
This would be comparable to Indiana Jones making his way to the Mayan Golden Idol only to find Beloch there, waiting for him.
W the Actual?
But, that glaring issue is compounded: the MC retrieves the item nevertheless, the Mentor says Good Boy, and they make there way back home.
The Mentor never questions the minions why they are there, how they knew how to get there, nor who sent them.
And the next scene?
The Bad Guy revving up his minions for more hero-thwarting.
It is astonishing that it passed Editorial scrutiny. And how can anything be exciting after that, with such flawed plot mechanics?

Crazy silly !!
Where are the Robert Jordan's these author's put outcast orphan,elves,magic and for some reason the story should write itself but unfortunately this author butchered a perfectly good story line with writing one thing and meaning another like the part were the main character is listening to the antagonists in the other room talking about his certain demise but when they come in to speak to him the author made them best buddies it just didn't make sense not even a little bit the world put around the main characters and the sinister academy these young people train at are more bullying them learning I didn't enjoy reading this book the experience seen rushed not finished with a lot of word's that went the long way around the barn trying to find the door I in good faith can not recommend this book to anyone it was just a complete waste of time and money !!

Very exciting, action packed and unique !
This series is filled with danger, magic, pain and intrigue. Terak an elf, is raised in the black keep, and is an outcast as he is the only elf. But he was groomed since childhood to become an assassin to fight against the evil that wants to destroy his world. This is filled with action scenes that are extremely detailed and last way too long sometimes. It's just too difficult to picture every single movement that is described, and it gets sort of tedious to try to keep up with ! Other than that, the storyline is very well written and is very unique ! I highly enjoyed and recommend it if you enjoy this genre .

Loved this series. The main character an elf, with no magic (while the remainder of his world had magic) .but I'm
was unbelievable. The pain re learned to suffer in the black enclave amazingly helped With his final mission. The torcherous life he lead was a religions fanatical group. But the lessons learned there was the ultimate part of his future. Read the series. It's the best ever

A really good story
I have enjoyed the story of Terak and all the many and varied allies friends and enemies he made throughout his epic adventures. Only one thing stopped me giving it five stars. It has quite an abrupt ending. It would have been lovely if the many ends were tied up. What happened to each of the special friends?

What a saga!
This is an excellent world to get lost in. I enjoyed the whole 9 books. The characters are amazing fun & and strong. I even have a few favorites. There is no foul language or sex in this story and it's not welcomed, missed nor needed. The whole story is absolutly great!

Riveting
On the edge for the harrowing event, was even biting my nails at some points in the saga of struggle against adversities and of stange friendships and strange beings.

Dagger of the World is a solid epic fantasy series. It's gripping and fast-paced, but the character development fell a little flat to me. However, with great plotting and high stakes, it's still definitely a worthwhile read!

Well worth the time and money!!
I have been an avid reader since I was very young. Now in my 70's I find fantasy really likable. Dagger of the world is packed with magic, action, friendship and SO MUCH MORE!!

An easy read to pass the time
A good book for teenagers who like fantasy,

Well written and full of adventure
This was a surprising diamond in the rough. I found it enjoyable from start to finish with engaging well written characters and easy to follow action scenes. This is a great take on the fantasy genre

I really liked this book of a loner who finds his group. There were several new creature types that I have not met before. Interesting use of inventive swearing, including a completely new word! I thoroughly enjoyed this series and can gladly recommend it.
