It is expertly laid out with colorful pictures, helpful hints, and detailed instructions. The book is heavy to hold and read but great to rest on the island as you prepare the cake recipes. Not only is this a beautiful book and laid out perfectly, but it is also full of delicious recipes that I can make at home.
Absolutely the best cookbook I’ve bought this year (and I buy a lot!) If you are the type of baker that loves to make cakes that are exceptional but have very little artistic talent, this is THE book for you. Tons of great pictures, every cake is “I’ve the top” but very doable. Clear directions, tons of great tips through out the book. I can definitely say this book will be well used in the upcoming years.
I would actually make most of the cakes in this book. I liked how the chapters and recipes were organized. Very fun to skim through. I know from experience that her recipes work well.
The pictures are beautiful and the cakes look amazing. I haven’t made a cake yet so I am not exactly sure how easy the recipes are to follow. There seems to be a good mix for different skill levels. You definitely need an understanding of cake making to go up to this level, but that is why it is called Layer UP!
