"Our Perfect Murder" features True Crime Podcaster, Ember, as she tries to solve a case that hit a little too close to home.

Podcaster characters seem to be a hit or miss for me. For me, it was a miss. While I liked Ember and I liked Cabrera's writing, I didn't find myself reaching to keep reading it. I felt Cabrera did a really good job telling this story!

I read mixed reviewed.. some liked and some hated this book. Im glad to report im one who liked.. a cute book with lots of cute banter and an unexpected couple. Loved the crows, came in when they were needed the most. Minus 1 star since I was left hanging in what happened to the major no answers and the story just ended.

Great Story, Great Writing

With a thriller ending, this is the story of two people learning to trust. It’s also an involved, multi-generational murder mystery. It’s only towards the end that disparate, seemingly loose ends, are braided together.

There are also, passages of literarily breath-taking imagery and depth.

I was an early reader for this book and can I just say wow! Ember is such an exciting character! I loved to watch her grow. Cabrera really knows how to craft comical and complex protagonists. I really rooted for her as she tried to solve the crime and catch the killer before time runs out.

I could not put it down. The ending was so genius! Loved the mix of cultures and overtones of generational trauma. Excellent.

DNF @ 39% I thought it would get better. It didn’t. It’s written like it was pulled off Wattpad and published. I don’t have a single good thing to say about it.

Entertaining story, but a bit predictable. Some of the dialogue is pretty cheesy too.

I enjoyed this reading this book. I had a feeling she’d meet her dad.
