Only an Omega can save the Beast…

Once, I was a golden prince, full of promise. Then the curse came for my parents. I did everything I could to save them.

I failed.

Now, I am a monster, scarred and dangerous. I remain in the shadows, ruling my kingdom from afar, feared by everyone I fight to protect.

My subjects stay away from me and my haunted castle. But one stubborn woman refused to heed the warnings: an Omega named Rose.

She came to demand my help. I’ll never let her go.

This is one I have been waiting for. This series is a super hot and sexy read....this was not for me.

Felt no connection to Bestian. Domination can be sexy. This felt overbearing. Almost as if her sexual desires were completely determined by him. Not just her sexual desires but her needs. Ma was so important to her, yet he constantly put of their reunion.

Just felt one sided. I am a little sad and need a brownie and milk now. 😢

Happy reading,
DD 🥂

4.5 ✨

I really liked this one.. The first heroine in this series that I could totally relate to. We have a beautiful POC Somalia lead heroine.. She has a lot of heart. Fierce in her love and care for those she holds dear.

Our Hero definitely has a Beauty and the Beast/ Phantom of the Opera vibe, but still a beautiful unique brute of a male, with the soul and heart of Lion & Teddy Bear when it comes to his Omega... I love how the claiming in this one was VERY different from the other 3 books... and their story was beyond intriguing for me, in how things came to be and played out.

Still, there was something not quite able to completely close the deal for me here. So hence no 5 stars... but still, I'm a bit biased anyway because of book 1. None in this series has been able to surpass or match book 1 standards for me. 🤷‍♀️

I would still recommend this series.. All except book 2, I have loved or liked...

3 smut-scale Omegaverse stars!

“More,” she whispers against my lips. “I want you inside me. Now.”

"Bossy little thing. “You presume to tell me what to do? Perhaps I should do the opposite.”

“Oh no, no.” She arches her back and my cock jerks as if it would leap inside her. “Please… don’t fuck me!”

This is the fourth book in the Planet of Kings series and features Rose and Bestian. This is heavily reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast with some Brave with the whisps. Maybe some reverse sleeping beauty too. Rose is a human that finds herself on Ulfaria and an Omega. Ma hides her away and helps her but when she becomes ill with the Red Death, Rose travels to the King for help.

This was steamy and fun but not my favorite of the series. It was lacking some character development in my opinion and I didn't really like the heroine all that much. There wasn't anything uniquely special about her and Bestian was an alpha but not in a way I love. He felt too suffocating.

The story was a little repetitive and I did get bored through some of it. I will continue this series for sure but I didn't love this one.

Love This Magical Alpha/Omega Story!

A gritty, humorous, magical reverse sleeping beauty story of pure entertainment. Rose finds herself on a strange planet, fortunately she was taken in by Ma and cared for. When the red death returns she follows the legend and goes to the haunted castle to demand the King save his subjects; especially Ma.

Rose’s “super power” is sarcasm. She adopts / is adopted by a rogue magic wind. The King lost his parents and was greatly harmed by the last red death. He hides his visage from Rose, and prevents her from leaving the castle.

Steamy, magical, roars and purrs. We all need our own whisp (magical wind). One more king finds his human omega in this entertaining series.

I absolutely adored this book. This is such a wonderful series, and if you haven't started it yet, you really should. As much as I have enjoyed every entry of this series, I have to say that there was just something extra special about this entry. If I'm honest, I think it's because this book cleverly and skillfully incorporates several fairy tales into the mix. Shades of Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella are all imbued into this enticing tale that had me all up in my Feels and embracing all the swoon. Rose and Bestian were easy to love characters that create plenty of steam and sparks. Each was easy to feel for and I found myself deeply invested in their happiness as individuals and as a couple. is my freely posted frank review.

'Brutal Beast' is the fourth book in Lee Savino and Tabitha Black's "Planet of Kings" series. I'll admit, I've been enthralled by this entire series so far and 'Brutal Beast' does not disappoint. Rose is human and one day found herself on the planet of Ulfaria with no memories at all. A local woman, whom she now refers to as Ma, found her, took her home, and has helped her ever since. Rose has since gotten a few memories back, like her name and that she's from Earth, and that magic does not exist. When Ma becomes ill with the Red Death that has been circulating again she has no choice but to follow the steps needed in the legend about the king. Who or whatever the Omega is in the legend will just have to take her turn at another time. As I was reading this storyline it struck me as a reverse of Sleeping Beauty combined with Beauty and the Beast. It's a wonderful tale and full of magic. Oh, the best part? The ingenious inclusion of the lava lamp. You'll have to read the book to find out why.

3 1/2⭐️

This was okay/good. I agree with one review a lot of repetitive talk. And I know this might shock some but too much sex. I really didn’t start understanding the story until almost to the end. I think one of the most exciting parts was when Kim and the Golden King came on the scene. Not sure if I will read the next book. Guess u have to wait and see.

I love Beauty and the Beast interpretations. I love Sleeping Beauty retellings. So when you combine and gender-reverse parts of those tales, then add a touch of The Phantom of the Opera, you can have a lot of fun. And that’s exactly what Savino and Black do in Brutal Beast.

I loved that the prisoner in the tower in this story is the alpha hero, and the rescuer is his fated omega mate. Rose takes initiative in this book, and she’s not a doormat for Bestian and his dominant alpha tendencies. I loved that she stood her ground and worked to convince him of what she wanted. Bestian is a thinker—which is harder to find in omegaverse than you’d think—and seeing him realize that it was in his best interest to accept Rose’s wants and needs and to reach out to the other alpha kings of Ulfarria for advice was refreshing.

Rose is an interesting character—like the other heroines in this series, she only has partial memories of her life on Earth, and I wish I could have understood more how her previous life in modeling connected to her new desires to learn herbalry and medicine in the Ulfarri world. Bestian also wallows in his regrets for a long time. And I wished we had understood a bit more about the wisp servants in the castle—they seemed a bit like people, but then they weren’t.

But this is one of my fave entries in a marvelous series by Savino and Black. And when you’ve got something rooted in such classic tales, how can you lose?

This was a dark steamy multiverse retelling of the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. She

Rose is a human that finds herself on the planet Ulfaria with no idea of how she got thete. She remembers she was a model and had a bad breakup with her last boyfriend but very little else. She was found at the side of the river by Matron Marphel who she calls Ma. Her only other friend is Leelah who also sells things at the marketplace.

Bestian was once a spoiled golden prince. His parents were killed by the Red Death and he was left scarred and grieving. He rules the kingdom of Medela from afar through counselors. His has a strong scientific background and tried to create a cure for the Red Death.

Rose decides to find the king after Ma and Leelah get sick from the new wave of the Red Death. She climbs the mountain to his castle and breaks in looking for him. He scares her and she runs away. He realizes she is the omega (to his alpha) that could break the curse. He announces he is looking for his mate and all the single women are rounded up. She manages to escape but is chased up the mountain by alpha soldiers. He puts up a magical forcefield to keep her on the castle grounds. Meanwhile she comes into heat and they have sexy times. He sends a cure to all the households of the kingdom. They have issues to work through but end up with an HEA afterall.

I was excited to read the Beast King story and it didn’t disappoint. There has been another human Omega hiding in the planet and Beast King has been hiding as well, from his people and himself.
This story was so reminiscent of beauty & the beast, they even had similar names referencing the story. It is funny that the human, Rose, keeps talking about Disney Princesses and fairytales, while she’s living out her own. This wasn’t my favorite in the series and there were a few things I didn’t totally understand, like was the king asleep for the past decade? I didn’t really get that, nor how Rose was able to save him through her blood at the end. Overall it wasn’t that important and it’s more about the Alpha-Omega couple finding their way together. Each of the books in this series feel like a different take on a Disney/ fairytale, which does make them a bit cheesy in my opinion. But they are also enjoyable with the dominant alpha being steamrolled by their tiny human female Omega. This king, Bastian had a thing for dirty talk and edging his lady to the point that I was exhausted and just wanted them to have some normal vanilla sex for once instead of all his talking, lol. Bastian seemed a bit contrary with his confident royal alpha attitude yet he felt inadequate, hiding both his face and himself from his people. I just had a hard time understanding him.

I enjoyed the first three books of this series, but this one breaks through my suspension of disbelief too much for me to enjoy. Rose is a human passing as an Ulfarri? By her own admission, she is a foot shorter than the shortest of them, so do they think she's a small child? In that case, why do folks speak her like an adult? And, for that matter, how is it that in every other book they can tell that they are hearing a foreign language that is being translated by their translation software, but in this one they just perceive her as speaking with an odd accent? Ma is giving her something to suppress her omega scent, but in the first few pages an Alpha can scent that something is off with her. How has she gone a few months without being discovered? Not to mention the fact that, just as Rose realizes that Ma is sick, her friendly neighbor decides to share the entire story of the dormant king who has the cure for the disease (a story I would assume everyone around would already know, so there would be no need to tell it), and she happens to be right where she needs to be to approach the king. I get that these books are not written to be anywhere near realistic, but this one has pushed so far into silly that I am not enjoying it. DNF.

1.5/5 stars...just too forced...

Oofda...that was a lot of fairytale themes forced into a story that barely had a climax ( pun intended) and plot. I've really enjoyed this series up until this book.

This book attempts to squeeze in most of the classic Disney princess stories as a one-story retelling but it REALLY misses the mark and just starts to read as unhinged. Elements from the classic fairytales just pop in and out of the book with no preamble or even an attempt to embedd the fairytale aspect into the ongoing plot (mostly because here is barely a plot).

The series itself gets progressively more magical and this book definitely jumped off the deep end with the magical elements and I think that was only happening because of the attempts to force in the fairytale aspects. Nothing really seemed to fit right into the overall storyline... like the story wasn't actually progressing even though the book still had more words to read. You don't even find out anything more about the overall series plot of how the humans are getting to the alien planet.

If you like the overall n series and want to move on to the next book, I suggest skipping this one and going straight to book 5.

There is a curse that is taking the villagers. It is rumored only the King knows the cure. Rose has been helping Matron aka Ma with her herbs. She is always warned about the Alpha’s and to keep hidden. When the curse once again stirs within the village, she finds her interest peaked. Bastian knows his Omega is out there. But his dreams predict the Red Death. He must save his Omega but first to find her. I do love that this story is, as Rose states, “a lovely reverse Sleeping Beauty.” That is what I thought as well. This story makes reference to a few fairy tales that we all know and love. When you read it, you will see. I loved that we got to read about the other “hoo mans.” You have to love Kim. And the story towards the end had my in tears. You felt it down deep. Excellent book. I can’t wait to read about the Demon King.

Fairy tale

This was a fairy tale on another planet. It was also more of a 3.5 star.
Bestian was a broken, guilt riddled lonely king. He kind of reminded me of the Hunter King. Both suffered from a traumatic event. Both didn't think they would be blessed with an omega and the possibility of heirs.
Rose was a refreshing change. The authors embraced diversity in that she was a somalian-american. She was also one of the few humans who had lived there for a little while and had established a life.
The thing that this book lacked, compared to the other three books, was a complex outside conflict. The conflict that arose was not one that they worked together to solve.
The situation between the MCs was similar to beauty and the beast. There were some heart wrenching moments.
I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I hope we learn more about the missing omegas.

The fourth king on the planet of kings to find his omega mate. this book will definitely sizzle your Kindle. Does magic truly exist, and Rose would like to know how she landed on this planet to begin with. But those questions are best kept for later right now the woman who took her in is dying and the king is the only one to fix it. Little does she know going for help will change her life forever. I love the story, it’s a story about sacrifice, family, and what love truly is. Rose never believed in magic until now. Bestion never believed he would find his Omega, and both were quite surprised. But now because of a curse they need to save their people. For Bestion it is self sacrifice, For rose it means saving not only their kingdom but her king. I love the ending of this book.

New Twist On an Old Fairtale

Brutal Beast offers a modern, albeit alien, twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast Fairytale. Rose finds herself transported to an alien planet under mysterious circumstances and under the care of Ma, an omega in hiding. When the village falls victim to a a plague that they thought eradicated long ago, Rose first in search of the Beast King, who legend says is the key to a cure. I have read every book thus far in the Planet of Kings book series and it must be said that Lee Sabino and Tabitha Black definitely know how to craft steamy scenes that will leave you rooting for the main characters and their happily-ever-after. Pretty please write stories about the remaining kings.

This is a sweet and steamy fairytale like romance. Bestian thinks he is a monster because of facial scars but his Omega, Rose, never thought that even from the beginning of their romance after she woke him up from his sleep. It's what's underneath and in his heart that matters. Then the Red Curse comes back. Rose must get back to the woman who saved her and took her in when she was abducted by aliens. When Rose goes back to save Ma, Bestian thinks Rose left him and he takes the curse for all his subjects. He is at death's door when Rose comes back and professes her love for him. They have their happily ever after.

This book had what normally would be up my alley. Nonhuman male, bf human heroine and knotting. However, it was very meh to me. It took me about four days to read which for me might as well be a month. It didn't capture my attention, so I had to put it down a few times. I made a promise to myself to finish books even if I didn't want to finish them. The characters really didn't have a connection. I did like the description of the locations, clothes and rooms. That was beautifully done. I honestly can't really put in to words why this didn't work for me. I'm still being generous by giving this book three stars.

This series aside from the first two stories its very much unrelated... Only a very tiny bit involves the other characters. In this one the Omega is living in the village long enough to have formed a relationship with a mentor figure.... Then she goes looking for a cure for her sick friends and wakes up a king.... It is then he starts to be in the story but its at least Half way through before the other kings are mentioned. I thought I picked up a new story thread it took so long to discover the link to the series. There are lost of unexplained events... Like how she knows to drip blood in his mouth...

I really enjoy this series! This one in particular is one of my favourites so far. The FL was kinda funny & witty to me(although I was confused as to shy she kept not believing in magic, girl you’re literally on a different planet?!) I loved how she and the ML were able to communicate, he was open to learning from her and changing his ways. I really enjoyed this couple, it feels like their relationship was a bit more straightforward which was nice to read🙂
It was also nice to have a POC FL and I think this was the first book to differentiate where all the women were from and I love that!
Also the smut was pretty good too 🤭

A Fantastical Fairytale Feel!

Brutal Beast is book 4 in the Planet of Kings series and this is where all your fairytale fantasies come true. I thought there was so much hidden humor in all the fairytale references.

There was secrets, sacrifice, healing, growth, love, and formed family, plenty of spice, a whole lot of excitement, drama and adventure and a fantastic HEA. Do read the entire series from the beginning. The stories get better as they go because we are learning more about the other Kings, their unique kingdoms and the Omegas that have stumbled into their paths.

I can’t wait to start the next book, Brutal Demon, so I am jumping right in!

I wriggle until I’m face to face with him. He grabs my wrists and pins me on my back, covering me with his huge body. “Rose.”
I’m breathless, my heart racing with excitement and desire. “Bestian.”
“I’m so sorry I spoke to you that way,” he says. “I’m a fool. A big, ugly fool.”
“You’re not ugly,” I whisper. “That’s what I was trying to tell you.”
He heaves out a sigh. “Don’t leave,” he says. “Don’t leave me.”
“I’m not leaving, dumbass.” I wrap my legs around him. “I'm here. I'm with you.” I free a hand to palm his scarred cheek. “I'm here.”
His mouth crashes down over mine, kissing me

Not very brutal

This story is similar to sleeping beauty with Bestian, the sleeping king, in his vine covered castle and Rose breaking in to save him. He's a beast due to facial scars but I think he's the most gentle and thoughtful of the kings in this series. Rose also has an easier time in estrus and feels the pull but doesn't get as overwhelmed.

This is a standalone with an HEA but reading the other books in the series first will help the reader understand what's going on. Sweet and satisfying.

Enjoyable short read

I enjoyed the story and the characters. It was also nice to be back to the familiar world of Ulfaria (sp?). I always appreciate we get to check in on the characters from the last three books too. I would have given it 5 stars (or at least 4.5), but the ending felt rushed. It still was a fun, sexy read and I will be continuing the series, because above all else, both authors have penned a series allowing the reader to escape from a stressful world for a little while into a happily ever after. And that, is worth its weight in Alpha-holes! 🙂

Solid 4 Stars.

I loved how Rose was a POC. And how she was described as wearing her hair in braids, the subtly of us learning about her ethnicity.

Bestian was the typical Alpha. His back story is a little more intense than the others, and as someone who can relate to disfiguring scars, I understood him. His desire to hide away, to cover himself, to think himself undesirable. I get it.

And for Rose to see past all that is ugh. Freaking wonderful.

Very similar storyline to Beauty and the Beast - just a few tweaks here and there.

It’s beautiful. A story with magic love and hope!

When one finds yourself lost in a world that you don’t remember. You take guidance from she who is near you. As an omega, you hope you don’t trigger the alphas…

But when you do, and you’ve awakened an ancient… you pray…. You pray that the king who loves his kingdom… comes for you.

A richly woven, beautiful tale with HEA

Rose is so brave and so willing to fight for what she wants. Beastian is dominant and enamoured with her, Their relationship is hot and intense as they grow together. I love this series and this story. The two authors complement each other and have produced a seamless story with real characters and interesting storylines. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I recommend it. Very well worth reading.
