This is a very interesting first book to a series and I will await the second .
Thanks to Faith Isabel Bloom for allowing me to read an early copy of the book, all opinions are my own.
This was a good story. I am up to part 4. Finding the next volume is a pain in the rear. When I read I want to read, not hunt and search for the next part. 5 or6 chapters is not worth the trouble. I will continue for now but I'm not sure I'll finish the story. It would have been much more exciting as a novel and not just chunks. Sorry.
Letter writing is such a lost art. My parents met when my mother was 13 (the girl next door!) and they corresponded when my father moved back east to be with his mother again. I remember my mother telling me how romantic my father was in writing; his letters kept her from dating other guys in order to save herself just for him. He’s the only guy she’s ever kissed.
Oh, anyway. Back to the book! Sorry ‘bout that… If only we still wrote letters and/or journals. Our descendants would get to “meet us” again, but in a different lifetime. As much as we can share with family, there’s nothing like reading about our older generations’ loves, hopes, and losses from their youth. So many historical mysteries get solved and families receive closure upon someone’s finding these epistolary treasures.
is book picks up with a character from The Last Memory Box being elderly. What secrets had she kept all her life? What would her elderly daughter and her niece find out about her youth? Her niece takes a small vacation back to Italy, back to a place her aunt apparently held very near and dear to. All the questions but no answers. Lost letters from the past only add questions. Nicely written storyline as a continuation years ahead from The Last Memory Box, and it’s not finished with telling the story. Just enough to get you wrapped into the story
Oh my! So, I've read the prequel and left my review! And just finished this book 1....I now know Lilly's secret...And oh the heart ache she must've suffered. I have received this book free from the author for an honest review and rating. Again, I thank her for it...now off I go to get a bigger snack and big glass of ice tea to begin the next journey!!--P/

Sophia goes to Italy to carry out her Aunt Lily's last wishes . While there she discovers there was much she didn't know about her aunt . She also stumbles on a mystery. A promising start to the series. The story only touches on part of the mystery to come and I am eager to read more. I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and this is my freely given and honest review.
This story focuses on Sophia, who has inherited a house from her beloved Aunt Lily. This is where life decisions will be made. I enjoyed the journey Sophia takes to unravel the mystery of her aunt and to find the path to happiness and fulfillment for her life. I enjoyed this one and look forward to the next book. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Fantastic book. Lots of twists and turns. Must read book 2 to find out what will happen to Sophie. If you enjoy romance, intrigue, and Italy you will certainly enjoy this book.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Not sure how to talk about this one: historical fiction or mystery. Great start in how Sophia begins to unravel a mystery thanks to found letters from he Aunt. Good start to what I hope is a series of tales about Sophia and her Aunt's past in Italy. Quick, read and really puts you there reading the letters alongside the characters. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
