In order to save her people, she must marry her enemies.

I’m the Shattered Isle princess.
I’ve grown up on horror stories about the four All Plane princes, and now I’ve been promised to them as their bride in order to usher in peace between our two warring realms.

First, I have to earn their trust.
Second, I must do what my father raised me to do—kill them all.

But the task is almost impossible when each of the princes have an unflinching need to claim me as theirs.

The chemistry between us is electric.
They’re danger and desire and forbidden temptation, and I’ve never tasted anything as sinfully sweet.

When secrets are unveiled, I realize there is more to my villains than I ever thought possible. Now I’m in a battle with my heart, and choosing the wrong side of this war could cost me everything.

Her Villains is a reverse harem fantasy with enemies to lovers themes, some violence, and steamy scenes for readers 18+.

This story is so good!! I love all things marvel and when i heard this was based on my favorite characters, I had to read it!
The world building was amazing. The characters were wonderful. The familiar sense with them made me so happy. The spice! THE SPICE!!!! I read this in one sitting, about 3 1/2 hours. I couldn’t put it down. I love it.

4/5 stars; ok wowwwwww when i saw someone recommend this on booktok with the tagline: if you wish marvel was smutty... I KNEW i had to read this and it did not disappoint. let me introduce you to our four wonderfully smart and sexy men...
steel, a compassionate, loving and sometimes sensitive guy who immediately clicks with our main girl cari and the only one who she initially feels safe with. he respects her boundaries and always makes sure she feels respected and cared for... oh! and he has a shield!
next up we have tor (HA) a spitfire, tough guy who has lightning powers and electric blue eyes. this ones pretty easy.
talon, who i thought was someone else first, is our creative, too-smart-for-his-own-good brother who has raging trust issues and a fun goatee beard. he has powers of iron-working....
and finally, last but CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, we have lock. he is the misunderstood, always made out to be a villain, betrayed by his father, desperate for love brother. he has manipulative powers and can see inside your mind, oh and he also favors dark green.
I MEAN CMON... this was marvel with some SPICE SPICE SPICE and it even had a decent plot even if i didn't really understand a lot of the world building but lets be honest i just read this for the spice. hearing cap, sorry steel, say all those things to cari was like something from the twilight zone... and for gosh sakes watch your language!
i had very low expectations for this, honestly read as a palette cleanser but i was actually pleasantly surprised!

lock i mean loki.. i mean lock telling cari "fine make me your villain.."!!!!! babe a PUDDLE I WAS

ANYONE who loves marvel and has an unhealthy obsession with the marvel men should read this book even if it's just for fun (:

“I get to keep you forever.”
“An eternity won’t be enough with you.”

My first Reverse Harem🧍‍♀️. 2 of the guys I liked more, hehe oops. It had some Marvel essence in there... Creativity that could be pushed even more. Powers were neat - with a little more explanation and a little less doing the nasty, the plot was ok. The stamina in these book girls though😃 bamboozles me sometimes (skim over it lmao). Let’s be honest, Cari was never going to kill them after getting all that🙄. Overall entertaining? I wish there was a word counter that could tell me how many times the word “mates” was used though. Even the last word before “The End” was mates💀. It was a lil silly😋. And boo fathers👏

“I wouldn’t trade any of you for all the stars in the sky.”

Duuuude this was shockingly bad. I swear the dialogue is some of the most stilted, awkward, juvenile writing I have ever read.

You know how the Razzies exist for film? Whatever the equivalent is for books, this is my nomination.

If I had been reading the kindle version there’s no chance I’d have finished it. The only reason I did was because I was listening to the audiobook and couldn’t be bothered to start something else.

this wasn’t bad but could have been better! the love was really instant and the book was not quite developed enough for the speed of the events. for instance, i felt the main character became attached and loyal to the love interests do early on, before she’d truly gotten to know them. i’ll rarely say this but it needed more filler !!!

If you ever watched a Marvel movie and had thoughts like:
"Wow I wish Steve Rogers would bend me over the counter, wrap my hair around his fist, and take me from behind"

or "Wouldn't it be great if Thor and Captain America spit roasted me?"

or "I want Iron Man to spank me"

or "I would love for Loki to do what he wants with me and call me a 'good girl'"

Well I have the book for you. It's this one right here.

This is a quick Marvel inspired RH/why choose book you can easily read in one sitting. It's fast paced; there's action, bloodshed, betrayal, and of course lots of smut.

I think this was enjoyable but remarkably rushed. I wish the bondings were drawn out a little longer because the tension isn't there anymore, but I'm intrigued to see where the rest of this plot goes.

"Are you lost, darling?"

This is a five POV book, told by the POVs of Cari, Steel, Lock, Tor and Talon.

I think I liked Cari, since this book was so short, her character was never really developed, but she seems to be a strong FMC who makes up her own mind instead of blindly following others. With all four of the MMCs, you could tell the Marvel influence, especially in the introduction part.

There were no side characters in this book, so I won´t be able to judge any.

This was honestly such a quick read that it only took me an hour to finish the book, so the review probably is quite short as well. You could tell the Marvel influence and I caught a few references, but I sometimes wished there were a bit more. Plotwise this clearly is a quick smut book, since not much is happening. The book takes place over the span of 2 or maybe 3 days. However the events happing are fast paced and the plot is moving quite quickly. I would say the smut itself is okay, but it´s not the best I have ever read.

Overall it was an okay read, neither really bad nor really good.

2.5⭐️ Come. Sit. Cause we gotta talk. Soooooo not what I was expecting. I was thinking ooo Lock (Loki), Steel (Steve), Tor (Thor), and Talon (Tony) in one book ok alright let’s see it 😏. Honestly the only thing that resembles them is their looks and minute personality traits (mainly in Lock and Steel). Once I wrapped my brain around that fact, I’m like ok I can work with this. But I just wasn’t vibing with it. I couldn’t connect to any of the characters. The spice was ok. The scene with Lock had more potential that could have played a part, but was still kinda good. Talon just got annoying af. Like I get your mad but like damn. It was excessive. And the use of wife and husband, like I love that as much as the next person but the amount of times this was used, was way too many. It felt like it took away the sentimentality of it and was more possession like if that makes sense. And something else “female and males” (referring to the MCs) was idk it just didn’t sit well with me. And then the plot just felt rushed towards the end like it was just thrown in there. This book had so much potential 😭. Im still gonna continue the series but only for the fact that I want to read Her Assassins *cough cough* for Bucky and Venom 🤭. I really hope this series gets better cause like the idea of it being Marvel inspired MARVEL was like “ok I HAVE to get my hands on this ASAP.”

Her Villains is the first book within The Shattered Isle duology. From the very first page, I was completely hooked. It honestly didn't take me long to really enjoy Cari with the guys. Sure, they were enemies in the beginning but how can you truly fight a mate bond? Spoiler alert: You can't.

Once the romance was turned up to an eleven, well, I just sat back and enjoyed it all. Of course, we do get our fair share of drama, betrayal and revenge. Out of the guys, I totally have a favorite but can't wait for things to get even more intense in the next book. Plus, I really want certain revenge and deaths to happen as well. If not, I will riot!

In the end, I am impatiently waiting for the king to die. Oh, and the general too.

BookTok led me here with a Marvel inspired reverse harem.
I honestly didn’t know who was who until I read another review. We all know why we’re here and it’s not for the plot, but I wouldn’t have read this if it wasn’t advertised as a marvel inspired book. I felt the ending was rushed and it could’ve just ended. Steel and Tor’s build up was good, but I felt that Talon and Lock’s was rushed. There is a sequel coming out and yes I will read it.

I went into this book fairly blind only aware it was a RH duet. I was certainly not expecting to read a fantastical political romance. Did I mention smoking hot, because…. Damn!! 🔥 The story opens as the heroine is marrying her trio of mates. For the good of her people she’ll marry her kingdoms enemy and be the perfect loving wife. Until the perfect moment comes that is and while using her powers she’ll kill them all. Trained as an assassin by her megalomaniac father Cari is no wimp and can handle her own. A time or two she saves their a$$es and by the end it’s still taking them time to accept their wife is a BADASS! The book combines a whole lot of steam with a whole lot of action. The brothers are also given the opportunity to mend bonds and a lot of that is thanks to Cari. While they all may have secrets, overtime everyone comes clean and I was glad it wasn’t dragged out. The end was also a surprise as I was expecting some major cliffhanger and instead we get a rather peaceful and relaxing HFN. Mind you this matters little to the urgency of wanting to finish out Cari and her mens’ story. 😜 Overall this was a pleasant surprise that had me hooked (and fanning myself) from the very beginning.

I'm not sure what to think of this book. I liked it, and I had fun reading it. The marvel inspiration were a bit odd, but still there. And the world seems interesting enough.
But it missed something for me to be more invested. This is the kind of stories that I'll read but forget entirely in a few weeks. And I don't know why.

Interesting enough, the smut scenes were soooo abundant but well adjusted with the plot, I was baffled to see that the story was evolving nicely around all this spice.

I think that the author was favoring a lot one of the characters. And I couldn't be mad at her, because Lock is bae and we all know it ! But the group relationship seemed a bit unbalanced as a result.

For the plot, it's simple to follow, but efficient. Not complex, but interesting enough to be interested and wanting to read more.

I'll dive in the next one and we'll see how things goes !

Merry

PS : the throne scene with the public speech had me cringing a bit... I could have done without it.

i definitely read this book solely for the spice and because the dedication is literally for marvel lovers who want a little extra spice. also, this book aligned with my current obsession for reverse harem books. needless to say, this was a solid meh read for me. the spice was alright, if a little bit repetitive. i did enjoy the marvel based characters, but the plot was very limited and i really just wasn’t totally invested in the story. overall, spice was good for this quick read, but i didn’t enjoy it enough to read the second book.

I would have given it a much higher rating if it didn't have a polyamorous relationship. Also the Marvel references were very obvious. I preferred the first half of the book to the second half.

This marvel fan fiction was extremely enjoyable and equally as spicy.

To truly enjoyed reading this book from start to finish and I thought it was a spicy easy read. What I loved about it was the unique world building while integrating marvel characteristics into the characters. It was unique and fresh and the length of the novel was perfect too. The heat wave that Lock put off was undeniably perfect, the strength and tenderness from Steel was off the charts, the control of Talon was sexy, and the lightning from Tor was so good. Plus our FMC was fun to be in her thoughts, she was strong and capable and I loved that. Also the POV changes worked so well in this story. It flowed well and was an easy read.

I can’t wait to read the next book or books, however many this author has planned for this, hopefully, series.

The reasons I gave it 3/5 stars was because I wish we would have gotten a longer ending scene (I won’t say so I don’t spoil) and more indication of why it happened the way it did throughout the rest of the books. More foreshadowing per say. Also I wish we would have gotten a group scene, maybe the next book? That would have spiced this up tremendously.

Other than that, I really enjoyed Her Villains and I will most definitely be continuing this series. It was a great spicy RH with fun world building and a conflict that makes sense.

Her Villains by Jade Presley is one of my favourites reads this year. It reminded me exactly why I love Kindle Unlimited, by helping me discover an author who is nothing short of brilliant at storytelling, with her intentional writing and amazing plot.

Although short and punchy, this book will capture the attention of fantasy readers, Marvel fans and Reverse Harem lovers. Yup, all of them.

Think forced marriage to all your faves from Marvel (yes, Loki too), who are princes of an enemy kingdom, now add a badass and selfless MC who has trained her entire life for this, only her world gets rocked (hahaha, this is punny because sjoe, there is steam 🤭🌶) when she realises history isn't what it seems and neither are these ridiculously hot and powerful princes.

Jade does such a good job of transporting you into a fantasy adventure, with romance, spice and family drama, but she doesn't waste chapters on end confusing you with lengthy descriptions. I loved that the first book in this unfinished series told a story without feeling rushed but still managed to get to the point and seamlessly creating an interesting world that I'm eager to dive back into.

I feel like this is too obviously a former Marvel fanfiction, and I think it relied heavily on the parallels that the reader would automatically draw between those character descriptions and their behavior rather than actually showing us who these people are. Steel is Steve, Tor is Thor, Talon is Tony, and Lock is Loki....not exactly mind bending.

I was disappointed that this book seemed to let those similarities/reader assumptions do a lot of the heavy lifting. There is definitely an audience out there that will enjoy those parallels enough to overlook a lot of the pitfalls in the writing of this, but it wasn't for me.

I could not get immersed in this story. The characters felt like caricatures rather than fleshed out people, so much so that even the smut scenes bored me. I skimmed those and a bit toward the end because I was in serious danger of DNF-ing.

I can see the appeal in this book but unfortunately, I just didn’t vibe with the concept or dialogue. The constant “little wife” and “husband” nicknames irked me more than I care to admit.

If you loved marvel but wanted more spice, then this may be enjoyable for you.

This was an interesting premise. I’m not a marvel fan so I wasn’t huge on the premise. I just knew it was an RH. There was more smut than plot which is the opposite to what I need in a story. I listened to this via audiobook.

3.5? So this is a marvel inspired RH where the men are based off Thor, Loki, Captain America, and Iron Man. Lock aka Loki is my favorite. Steel aka Captain America is truly a sweetheart. Tor aka Thor is all strength and challenges Cari (FMC). Talon (Iron man) was a lot more angry and resistant to the coupling. They are all brothers in an arranged marriage to Cari to unite their warring kingdoms. Cari has been trained as an assassin her whole life to kill the princes. Not a lot of plot, mostly just building the relationships between her and the men. Sounds like more action and possibly a war in book two. I’d recommend for anyone wanting a marvel RH. It’s definitely not exactly the same as the marvel universe and it’s weird that the guys are all brothers in this but hey if you’re into that you’re into that. I ain’t gonna judge

Meh. Rushed is the word for this one. A lot was glossed over. The romance was a little forced in places for me. I really liked the relationship between Lock and Cari the most because it was actually explained what they did in their time together and what they talked about. With the others, it was just the bond. I wasn't too shocked that she'd been lied to. That's becoming a trope pretty often lately. I think it would have been nice if their father's big reveal at the end had been more of a surprise.

April Book Club Book:
I feel like I may not have disliked this as much had I not have been such a big Marvel fan. However, the fact that they travel on the spaceship for no joke like over 80% of the entire book bothered me to no end. I would’ve preferred to see so much more plot progression in book 1 and at a much faster pace.

My fav brother was Lock by far, and I fucking HATED Talon. But that’s because I love Tony Stark and I feel like he was butchered in this book 💀 lmao

I also feel like Cali gave into the bonding waaaaay too easily and as soon as she did it was obvious she wouldn’t be able to kill them. Like they were joined by that point, it wouldn’t have been emotionally possible and her dad should’ve thought of that 💀 it was such a dumb plan from the start. It should’ve been that she was never supposed to give into the bonding or something. She should’ve took out Steel on the first night because he trusted her straight away 💀 he was an easy target lmao. The only one with any sense was Talon and also Lock when it came to not trusting her right way. She could’ve easily taken out Steel and Tor imo. Maybe even by poison or something idk. The plot was flimsy af.

3.5 ⭐️ Plot wise, this book really missed the mark for me, however, we all know that’s not why I decided to read this book. The dedication is what drew me in and it was the spice I always knew I needed, but didn’t even know existed.

The fact that the men were based on my favorite Marvel characters is what really made the book for me! I loved finding the similarities in the characters and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t giddy and smiling throughout a majority of the chapters. You get every character’s POV, which I loved. I didn’t know what to expect from the relationships, but I wanted more. The relationships moved very quickly, and felt very surface level, which I guess is fine considering the length of the book.

A quick read that I think any Marvel fan would enjoy. Would I read it again? No. Will I continue to fantasize about Marvel men? Yes. Now, if anyone can lead me to any Marvel fanfics that have the actual characters in them, I would love you forever 👀
