Call off the search party, here I am. Candy Crystal is back for another round with my Gambler’s Monarchs. And don’t be mistaken, they are mine. All mine. So much has changed, except for me obviously. I’m as perfect as Angus’ advice on a dismal day. With the Monarchs fractured and Malik suffering from an identity crisis, I need to use my best moves to bring the whole gang home. My best moves being reverse cowgirl, the upside down corkscrew and the underestimated cupid’s arrow. Armed with my magical pu$$y and a newfound sense of purpose, I’ll lure them all back to the Devil’s Bedpost where we belong. Together.
Unfortunately, my appeal doesn’t stretch as far as the stray who has latched onto one of my men. A charming, cunning killer to be exact. It’s obvious this house isn’t big enough for the two of us. I’m a b!tch who knows her way around a bone so this slutty snake had better watch her back. Did I mention she’s also trying to kill me? Well, not if Angus and I get to her first. The Monarchs may be blind but I know an assassin when I see one. Some say I’m delusional, others use the term disturbingly obsessive. I prefer protective, and now the Candy Crusher isn’t my sole possession anymore. The claws are out, the game is on. Marco Polo Motherf*cker$.
Trigger Warning: This is book two of the I Love Candy series, featuring a feisty female lead. Candy is spontaneous, impulsive and reckless, which makes this book inappropriate for under 18’s. She gives as good as she gets, causing chaos and leaves you wondering who is bullying who! Expect excessive amounts of steam, violence and cursing throughout. This series is a RH trilogy with a HEA…eventually.

3.8 stars. OW drama is Blegch and you can’t change my mind. Somehow this series incorporates a bunch of shit I hate, like a stupid love triangle, and still makes me want to keep reading. That’s a mystery in and of itself.
🤷🏻♀️ The sex and violence and complete and utter insanity continue. Candy is frustrating as fuck at times but I still want to read more so…what can ya do?
First things first, Hamish!!!! We get to me Hamish in this. Agnus and Hamish <3 I just wish to know what Hamish represents. I think it has to do with the relationship issue since he showed up when Jack's betrayal started. Apparently Agnus showed up when she went through some pretty hard stuff.. so its safe to say, her gummy bear companions are created when its too much for her to handle, showing how messed up she truly was over Jack's betrayal.
I stayed up til 2 AM reading this. I started at midnight and literally COULD NOT set it down. This book made me cry. I hate them for not believing her. I don't fucking get it either. I absolutely HATE Jack and honestly, if he is dead, I wouldn't miss him at all. Since book 1 he has been nothing but hateful to her. He has been the bad guy, and he is blaming her for everything, like he has from the beginning. The fact that he said he wanted her and made her his Queen, then immediately turns his back on her, UGH. She went looking for him to bring him back, and instead he betrays her by being with another woman. Oh but it gets worse from there.
She not only had to go through Jack's betrayal, him not coming home when she came for him... but the shitty stuff he said to her and putting all the blame on her... but then Jack decides to come home and bring his girlfriend with him so she has to see it every single day in HER domain.. THEN ... when she tried to tell them that the girlfriend was after her, they didn't believe her ... yeah blame it on jealousy, whatever... but still... they did not believe her... they continue to allow Jack to hurt her. .. THEN they tie her up and lock her in her room .... of course she is going to fucking leave. Not only did you bring back old memories, but you betrayed her. She gave them everything ... pieces of her she didn't even know she had to give... and no one trusted her... then when shit hit the fan they locked her up. So they deserve to lose her.
Sucks her dad died before she found out the truth, maybe if she would've known, she wouldn't of fought against him so hard and she would've had time to know some type of family. It was just cute how in book 1 she said he was the only father figure she had... and he was her father. :D
Spice 2/5 Humor 10/5 Emotional 3/5 World Building 5/5 Overall 5/5
I really liked this book. The crazy is great but I feel bad for Candy. The guys don't trust her gut even though she was the one to realize Jasper was impersonating Jack in book 1 and she also saved Jack. Which leafs me to also not understand what Jack's issue is with Candy. I get he wanted to take back control if his life. But yuck why Cherry. She is Cleary a dubious character. Also! Why didn't the guys look into Cherry at all. Like just accepted her immediately without knowing a damn thing about her. And not hiding their criminal ways with an outsider. So strange. Even Candy pointed it out how if it were her they would have locked her up till they knew for sure. But I digress. Anyways Candy knew she was shady but the guys just ignored her. Shrugged it off as her being her crazy self. Ugh.
I would have given this book 5 stars but I feel like there were a few too many unanswered things from book 1. Such as why big cheese setup the warehouse job with the guys and how Jasper was involved with him. And in book 1 Spade was the one to give Jasper his scar but in this book it kept saying Ace did. Also in book 1 Spade had a Mohawk but not he has braids.
I really liked the plot and drama though. Moved at a pretty fast pace. Obvs with Candy the bringer of Chaos. Lol. There was a good balance of smexy times but also not alot at the same time. The story was more drama. Which is a nice change ( sometimes reading smexy scenes being dragged out over chapters takes away from the book but not this one). Looking forward to possibly learning more about the guys and if their relationship with Candy is more than surface level. Also hope Cherry gets what's coming.
SYNOPSIS (0f Trilogy): Damaged FC who is completely psychotic with a hit out on her and 5 MCs trying to get her to fall for them. The story starts with the FC going after the MCs to get her beloved baseball bat back and then they start to fall for her and want to keep her. The story revolves around the MCs trying to get the FC to fall for them and trying to contain her psychosis whilst she is being targeted by a killer. She is very resistant to falling in love but eventually has a HEA
On the whole this is a good story, enjoyable and with a well written and structured plot (if quite OTT). The writing style is out there with Candy being larger than life. There are some humorous and laugh out loud moments. It's not particularly dark but it is violent. The FC is completely psychotic and for me, a bit too much. I found Candy, on occasion, just too psycho in her actions and reactions. She mellows a bit by Book 3 but the result was that I found it hard to believe that one, let alone 5, MCs would be desperate to keep her and chase her to put up with her behaviour. Talk about high maintenance.
The reason that I gave this 4 stars (and considered 3 stars) was that (1) there are a few plot gaps which grated such as which of the 5 beat up Candy at the beginning (because it's hard for me to justify an MC beating up a woman)? How can you gloss over what Malik did and what that says about him? Who killed Sphynx? Why does the author not provide any detail of Candy's backstory? (2) the editing, especially in Books 2 and 3, is appalling. There are sentences that make absolutely no sense and it creates consistent jarring in the story. I find it so annoying that so many authors these days cannot be bothered to properly edit or proof read their stories. It's just lazy and annoying for readers who pay for their books.
If you like completely psychotic ( in a Harlequinesque way) heroines, RH and a thrill ride then you'll enjoy this.
My Review on: I Love Candy Series ( books 1-3) Crushin' Candy (Book one) Smashin' Candy (Book two) Friggin' Candy (Book three) By: Maddison Cole
I have to say this series is complete fire 🔥! It will make you laugh, cry, and wanna beat someone's a**. You won't wanna put down this series, It's sexy. It'll make you drip if you know what I mean. This series had my complete attention from start to finish. This was my first time reading anything by Maddison Cole, and I will say she doesn't disappoint. She sure can tell a steamy, hot, suspenseful romance.
This series tells Story of Candy and how she grew up, well skims on it. It helps you get a little back story about how she is the way she is. She's a little crazy with her imaginary gummy friend Angus. She loves her bat and her bubble gum. She is loud, she takes care of herself, and she wants out from the Cheese. (Mafia guy who helps her). She does jobs for him.. How she meets her man (Ace, Spade, Jake, Malik, and Jasper) after they take over a job she butchers for The Cheese as she calls him. You'll love how she has each interaction with each of the five. Their little gang/family is it just what she needs?
This series definitely has a lot of twist and turns. Some of the events you'll be surprised at, others you'll be screaming why! There are a lot of heat and sexy scenes. There are some m/m scenes. This series doesn't disappoint at all, and you'll be glad you read it. So get sucked into Candy's story!
I bloody love this series. Candy is so extra and yet somehow not enough <3
I really liked the change in tone for book 2. Candy is on a mission and nothings going to stand in her way. After all as she says its her job to protect the Monarchs, even from their own stupidity. and boy oh boy is there a lot of stupidity. How Jack survived this book is beyond me. I wanted to bash his head in with the candy crusher myself on several occasions!! He's not alone though. You'd think they'd leant to listen to Candy by now (ok yeah half of it is bonkers, but still!) but noooo they do that man thing of thinking they know best, and look where that gets them!
We do get some juicy secrets though, which answer some questions and will cause some drama (makes a change eh)
My man of the moment is deff Spade though, maybe especially because it's always him! He's just so blinking sweet and it turns out he's a team player when he wants to be.
Ace needs an honourable mention purely for embracing the idea of letting go and going in hard, and um deep.....
Actually Jasper needs some love too because he totally didn't deserve that, they should have known better.
and Malik too now I think of it because he tries so hard and actually deserves way more credit than he gets.
and clearly all that candy has rubbed off on me if this rambling review is any guide. Ahh well i'm off to find some gummy bears.
Okay, we need to talk about *Smashin’ Candy*. Because I swear, if chaotic energy had a lovechild with dark romance and wrapped it in bubblegum-scented danger — it would be this book.
Candy is absolutely unhinged, and I love that for her. She’s sweet, spicy, and 100% psychotic in the most entertaining way. The way she handles her men? Iconic. I didn’t think it was possible, but somehow book two made me love this wild, stabby crew even more.
There’s blood. There’s banter. There’s absolutely no chill — and that’s exactly what I signed up for.
But let’s not pretend this was all fun and games. No, you *hurt* me in between the chaos. You gave me twisted affection, broken loyalties, and glimmers of vulnerability that cut deep under all the carnage. I came in for the smut, stayed for the trauma bonding, and now I’m emotionally compromised. Again.
How dare you make me care this much about characters who probably need court-ordered therapy?
So here I am, hooked, wrecked, and already reaching for the next book like a junkie in withdrawal. I don’t know whether to thank you or scream into a void.
Either way… 10/10, would get kidnapped by this crew again.
With stabby love,
**BluDisco** — Your blood-splattered book gremlin, thriving in the chaos you created.
🎵 I know a girl who's tough but sweet She's so fine, she can't be beat🎵
I don't know why but for some crazy reason "I want candy" gets stuck in my head when I read this series... Couldn't possibly tell you why...
But seriously, Candy is chaos defined. I LOVE her. She's an adventure on every page. However, she's definitely more fragile than she lets on. Thus Angus and now *excited squeal* Hamish!!
Poor spade, he always gets the short straw somehow. However I majorly laughed out loud during the cherry pool scene.
Jasper is somehow still my favorite with Ace catching up. Jack... Jack can take a run and jump. Eff the fact that he wanted a normal life he can't just bring some skank to live with the monarchs and expect the queen to be okay with this! She was a stranger. Candy worked her butt off to be one of them and it was a big deal getting that key. Jack ruined that pure moment for her. So he's enemy number one in my eyes. Well maybe not number one but he's pretty close to being as hated at Tanya. Just the sound of her name makes me pissy.
This book was a kickass, funny and crazy addition to Candy's story and I loved it.
If you haven’t started this series you’re missing out. This is a dark humor RH, and Candy is chaos redefined. But can chaos create roots? Candy has never really put down roots before. She lives in the moment and does whatever she pleases, whenever she pleases. The question is can she create a life with these rough around the edge’s men. She wants to, yet it terrifies her at the same time. These guys are raw and gritty, with some bite, plus they are super sexy – in other words, I love them. Jack is working my last nerve, but the others are right up my ally. Same as the first book, I was pulled in and couldn’t put it down. The spice is delicious, and I loved seeing her relationships grow. Unfortunately, it’s not all fun and games, and disaster ensues. The cliffhanger had me wanting to throw something, prepare yourselves, I was a bit of a mess after! I really enjoy this series and this book was fantastic. If you’re looking for a dark humor, RH with chaos and adventure look no further! 🖤
I have been looking forward to this book since that shocking revelation at the end of book one; and let me tell ya, it was totally worth the wait!! I just love Candy and all her crazy ways! If you’ve read Crushin’ Candy, then you know the story leaves off with a major bomb being dropped in the form of massive secrets being revealed. This book picks up shortly after book one leaves off, mainly concentrating on Candy trying to bring the Monarchs back together and reuniting them as the family they once were. We’re also introduced to a new character, Cherry, whom Candy immediately hates and is bound and determined to get rid of. This story takes us on yet another unpredictable, spontaneous, wild ride that’ll keep you guessing the whole way through! I can’t wait for Candy’s story to continue in book three, Friggin’ Candy, when it’s released!
Wow, ‘I love Candy” is the series that just keeps giving! I am obsessed with this series and can’t get enough of Candy & the monarchs!!
Candy is my kind of crazy and probably one of my favourite female main characters ever written!! If you are a fan of Harley Quinn, Candy will be right up your street!
Smashin’ Candy started where Crushin’ Candy left off and from start to finish it was a whirlwind of action, steam and a whole lot of crazy. The storyline is gripping and Candy certainly keeps you guessing! With laugh out loud moments this is a series you will not want to miss!!
For the most part Jack was firmly in my bad books for being a douche canoe! I’m still unsure who my favourite Monarch is but I’m swaying towards Jasper & Spade at the moment…. Poor Spade needs a break, talk about unlucky!! Hamish….. 🤣🤣🤣🙌🏻
Maddison I frickin love you and your creative, crazy mind
"You shouted 'its Britney bitch' whilst trying to drown her in the soil."
Smashin Candy is the second book in Maddison's reverse harem series, I Love Candy. This book leads straight from the last ones cliffhanger and straight into the aftermath of Jasper's bombshell.
I love how obsessed Candy is with her guys and them her... Even Jack, though he's being a ****. There is so much crazy that it is sometimes alot to keep up with but I am addicted to this series! There are so many twists in this that just keeps you gripped to the story. Candy is still an enigma, slowly learning more and more about her in each book and still there is so much more I want to know. Also so want some past scenes from the boys, I want to know how they became a gang.
Some great humour, interesting twists, lots of violence, and some great spice (chapter 19 and 26 🥵). I wasn't expecting that ending but I can't wait for the next book as I have so many questions.
⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5

Again this book at no plot. It could have been SO much better, add in more mafia ties, more mystery. Instead it was a broken girl trying to be Suzy Housewife, gets betrayed and shocker. She runs. I had hope when she took over the bar renovations but nah, she lost it and the book plummeted. She’s a brat who is just straight up selfish.
Malik- I actually loved him this book. He’s really trying and genuinely cares for Candy
Bishop- when he’s not PMS-ing he’s great. He embraces Candy and actually gets her. I love when he drove her to the pool
Ace- got the stick out of ass finally. Wish he would have supported Candy more, especially after his eavesdropping
Smashin' Candy by Maddison Cole is a reverse harem dark humor romance. This is the second book in the I Love Candy trilogy.
I absolutely love Maddison's books! I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't help but binge the book. I really enjoyed getting Candy, Ace, Jack, Spade, Malik, and Jasper's points of view throughout the book.
The book ends on an amazing cliffhanger that left me begging for more! I can't wait for the next book in the series Friggin' Candy to be released so I can get more of Candy and her men's story.
I would highly recommend this series if you like dark romances, dark humor romances, or reverse harem romances.
Candy is a baddie and I honestly can say that I am in love with her. I don't pre-order books but I did this one and I don't regret it. After reading the first book in this series I was hooked.
This book is just as good as the first and I can't wait for the next book. Candy is being her normal sweet self 😈 and as always the guys are always trying to anticipate her next move or what she's thinking. When will they ever learn it can't be done. 😂
Now I shall say Jasper, Spade and Ace are in my top 3. With that being said I have hope that there will always be 5.
If you've had the pleasure of meeting Candy in book one, you'll be prepared for her dark humor and sass. This is a RH, with a walk on the dark and twisty side of author Maddison Cole. The (sometimes cat claws out) protective, no holds barred, sexy brashness will have you turning pages and loving every minute. If you're ready for raw, in your face boundary pushing, that takes you for a, heck to the yeah, walk on the wild side. This. Is. Your. Book. Funny with her flaws, and sexy in her sass, Candy will quickly become a favorite!!!
Maddison literally I bow down to you and your amazing candy series.
I absolutely and devoted to candy, she is like the ultimate badass female character in every sense. Not only is she funny and crazy but she loves fiercely and will do everything to protect her monarchs.
That ending though who saw that coming.
Cherry I seriously don't like her but I have a feeling she's more than she lets on.
Can't wait to see if candy can bag her 5 men or will something more sinister happen.
I had to stop reading this several times because I absolutely hate cheating tropes and I would never have started this series if I had known that. Don’t try saying that it wasn’t cheating, it flat out was. Candy was in the right the whole time yet her guys plus cheating jerkface disregarded her. I love her crazy, spunky self she truly is nuts but she makes me laugh so I finished this book in deference to that. I assume cheating is done, but not sure if I am going to continue because it really bothers me.
Candy and her antics never cease to amuse me. I mean sometimes I think hey maybe she’s going a little overboard, but then I’m like, well that’s candy and people shouldn’t mess with her.. it’s their own fault. We meet cherry in this one and boy does it cause a rift in everything candy and the monarch’s are trying to work for. This kept me fully captured and excited to see what candy would do next. Then of course we get this cliffhanger and I’m even more excited to follow along for more.
Oh Candy you crazy crazy girl! I’ve got a major girl crush on this woman!
We get some major character development in this book, it’s a book about redemption and rebuilding. I really enjoy the dynamic of this group- each of these guys offers something different to Candy.
This book offers the perfect mix of crazy, dark and super spicy that had me flipping the pages. That ending though….I need book 3 now!!!
I love all of Maddison’s books and Candy’s latest is no exception to this!
This book has a slight change in tone but it works well Candy is still bonkers and the guys still think they know best. Some secrets are divulged in this book that answer a few of the questions but I’m not telling as no spoilers here.
If you love Maddison’s dark humour and writing style this book will be another favourite!
I still have no idea why Spade’s name was changed to Bishop.
The whole situation with the other woman and Jack was completely unnecessary.
There is nothing about this harem that makes me want them all together.
Also you killed the cat. And that is unforgivable.
I’m only reading the final book because I want to see Tanya bleed. Or I guess I’m hoping that Candy walks away from all of it with the world on fire and Angus and Hamish happily following her.

This is the second book to the I Love Candy series. I absolutely LOVE Candy! This book has everything from action to page turning romance. This book has some serious fire too. It is reverse harem and so well written I drooled throughout. I cannot wait for the third book in the series! If you have not started this series yet, do so now! This book is definitely a must read!
This is an amazing book and I love how wild and just plain insane Candy is. I also love how much her broken guys fit with her and find her enchanting. Book 2 is one hell of a ride and I can’t tell you how much I hate Cherry. I 100% agree with Candy the whole way. Bring on book 3!!!!
You don’t give up without a fight boys, Candy wouldn’t 😜
Crazy and full of chaos but so damn good. Candy is one hell of a nutcase but her nutty-ness you can’t help but love. She makes this story and the men too. Brilliant story so far and I can not wait what the next book has for us.
So I'm just going to make this short and sweet. If you don't read this it's your own loss. Seriously funny, yet finds ways to be heartwarming amongst the crazy. It's got enough smut to keep ya going but not so much there's no plot. Great job Ms. Cole. 👏 now on to book 3 for me
Candy is crazy and thats why they love her and we do too. It's enjoyable to see what she will do next. I'm not the biggest fan of cheating type tropes but I rolled with it to see what would come of it.
Looking forward to what happens in book two after the decision that candy made.
Not sure what else to say. I absolutely love Candy. Everything with Jack in this book is usually a no read, but I just couldn't stop. I skimmed through those parts, just so I could keep dealing with everything Candy does and has to deal with. I really hope she gets some sort of hea after all of this.
Filler. So much filler. Empty, boring, and absolutely dumb. With animal abuse thrown in for the mix.
Candy goes from superhero fun girl to annoying whiny pushover child. All of the men are overbearing, controlling, toxic assholes, and this entire book could’ve been an email.
"I create chaos and leave behind a trail of enemies. I live for the now and f*** what comes tomorrow."
I read book 1 and then an arc of book 2 right after. If you haven't started this series and are looking for some Harley Quinn vibes this book is a perfect fit, Candy may even be crazier.
Smashin Candy was all about rebuilding and I loved the dynamic changes for the most part.. I was wishing Jack would f*** off the majority of the book (like 95% of it) 🤷♀️ I think my favorite part of this book was watching Malik get ripped off his high horse and losing some of that control he thinks he needs and Ace getting out of his own head and finally living. Poor poor Spade needs wrapped in bubble wrap permanently. The twins are just too much to even get into, Jasper deserves all the love and Jack... we will see. Candy has turned into the glue that holds them all together and I'm so ready to see what she'll do next!!
