This book left me almost speechless! It was one bombshell after another. The way I devoured the pages wasn’t even funny. The drama, sassiness of the characters, the need to protect each other and the loyalty exhibited was much appreciated. I absolutely could not finish this one fast enough because I needed to know how it would end. I was pleasantly surprised that the brothers, Ahmad and Zayden, were so attentive and loving towards the women. They spared no expense to protect them. I felt a little bit of everything reading this. I cackled at Jeffrey & Byron. I wanted to cry for Ahmad. I needed to curse at the, “parents” because 🗣 NO! This gave me all I needed. 💙

I had to keep reading once I started it. This book def gave me alllll the feels and it had so many good plot twists. I loved the way the characters were all connected and how well developed they were. The dialogue had me cracking up!! It was literally so real and I could hear them and see them perfectly. Also it had a really good ending and it was just so good.

The only thing I hated was that the author never used the dialogue tag "said" LOL. But the story is so good I forgive her for that

Must Read!!!!

You would think Magnificent, Tiffany, and Bianca parents James and Melinda were from a third world country instead of them being black. The way they call themselves instilling certain qualities in their daughter's were ridiculous. Magnificent left home at 18 after suffering verbal and emotional abuse from her mother while her father stood by not doing anything. She even went as far as changing her birth name (Marissa) to dissociate herself from her family. She returned to her hometown a full grown 30 woman with a husband and her mother and father still had their nose turned up. The reunion wasn't what she hoped for but her husband Carter had her back and she was able to reconnect with her little sister but there was a lot of drama and deaths along the way. Tiffany was starting to see why her older sister left home and live life on her own terms. After Tiffany started seeing her mother and father for who they really was and being married to Byron who was a lying, lazy bum, with a sex addiction. Tiffany had enough. Byron was a manipulate, lying , trifling ass dude and his parents were a damn mess as well. Meeting Ahmad helped Tiffany confidence and helped her find her voice. Ahmad was definitely stepping behind Tiffany to protect her. Bianca was naive, spoiled, and believed the mess her parents instilled in her until she met Jeffrey and thought she found a perfect candidate to be her husband. I knew Jeffrey was hiding something and I wasn't too surprised that it had something to do with Casey. Bianca found out Jeffrey secret. After letting her mother know. Bianca was finally able to see Melinda for who she really was. Jeffrey lost his damn mind and was willing to do anything even kill to keep Bianca from spilling his secret. The rude, no filtered having Zayden had to step in to protect Bianca. I seriously loved Zayden. His mouth was a reckless but he was a sweetheart and he became smitten with Bianca stuck up ass. Zayden was definitely his brother's keeper because after finding out what Byron was planning to do to his brother Ahmad. Zayden had no problems getting his hands dirty and he damn near lost his mind when Jeffrey tried to bring harm to Bianca.

Life Has A Way Of Changing Your Direction In Life!

Lakia, A home run! Such a great read. I loved how you touched on the mental health issues, the emotional trauma some people suffer from childhood and how they deal with it, will sometimes determine their path in life.Thank you for letting me see Magnificent, I loved her although she was a little Sketchy she still had a heart. Hearing her back story made it so much better.
Jeffery had such a hard demon on his back. Because of the parents he had he could never feel comfortable in his own skin. The fact that Magnificent, Tiffany and Bianca were sister's but because their mother was such a fake person, judgemental person and cared more about image than her children. It's really sad to know some women have been trained to just deal with whatever the man brings to them and they are to accept it.
What could I say about Byyyyyyyyyron? Lord let there be a book on his trifling behind. I want to feel bad for him but again parents who were stuck on what things look like and never making him accountable, allowed him to think he could do whatever he wanted.
It's such a sad state to see women who are treated as the lowest and expected to be okay with it, making the women feel they are not good enough. Thank God, Tiffany met Ahmad, Magnificent Met Carter, and Bianca met Zayden. They all may have met under strange circumstances but they all ended up with the greatest love and they had such a strong bond between the 6of them and Carter's parents, that's all they needed. Thank you for a great read! Thank you maybe someone will read this and understand what they're doing isn't good for anyone involved. I think you opened some eyes. And at least if someone is struggling they can come clean before their mental gets the best of them!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Decent read

This was an ok read for the most part. There were a few things that was a little irritating like the overuse of the word “Bubble”. The author used that word so much I couldn’t take it no more. Also I just think making ppl suffer while still alive is the best option death is too easy. I really don’t know what was suppose to make Zayden and Ahmad described as hood ni&&as. They didn’t grow up in the hood and they didn’t live in the hood in the story. Was it the way they dressed, because they carry a gun, or because they had the swagger and could fight? Something was missing for me and there was a part of the story that dragged and I found myself skipping pages. I also would have loved to see their parents be brought down a few notches. Although the story was ok and better than a lot of the stories I’ve recently been reading. I couldn’t finish I got far like 83% but by this time I was ready for it to be over. Over all I give it a solid 3 though.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Toffany, Bianca, and Magnificent’s parents were horrible. I understand that they had old school values & why they disapproved of Magnificent’s lifestyle, but to encourage Bianca to stay with Jeffery knowing what happened was disheartening. Jeffery was a mess, but he didn’t deserved to be treated poorly by his parents either. I get that Magnificent was the older sister, but she was a tad bit overbearing, Tiffany was too wishy washy, & Bianca was a spoiled brat. But I’m glad they were able to repair & mend their sisterly bond. Ahmad, Zayden, and Carter were all stand up guys, that treated their women with nothing but love & respect. . This was a great story. Looking forward to reading the follow up.

Very Good Standalone!

This standalone was a really good read. Held my attention from beginning to end. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. Bianca was a spoiled little brat that needed to get off her mother titty. Byron was a sad human being with his leeching self. I was glad the sister's got another chance to reconcile and move on. I'm also glad Bianca saw her parents for whom they is. Bianca and Zayden are two peas in a pod. I knew Jeffery was an undercover brother. Byron & Jeffery should've left well enough alone. Would love to read more about these characters in the future. Highly recommend this standalone. Great job Lakia.

Loved jt

I loved this standalone from start to finish. Family expectations can send your life into a tailspin when things don't go as planned! I love the concept dog breeder to veterinarians & hitta! The sisters relationship took some time to grow, but they had each other's back when it counted! Loved Ahmad and Zayden relationship, they were each others keeper. Family don't always mean you have to be blood. Carter love for Magnificent was the best. Tiffany & Ahmad were meant to be with each other and Bianca and Zayden were bound to be together! I hope to read more about the couples!

Satisfied Reader

This book was just damn good and my review will spoil it. Magnificent is the definition of what don't kill you makes you stronger. Her parents were bitter and she exceeded everything they doubted about her. Ahmad and Tiffany met doing what she loved and he fell hard. Byron didn't deserve Tiffany. She had a great head on her shoulders and he wasn't the man she thought he was. Zayden and Tiffany were two peas in a pod. Jeffery was a f&&k boy who had Bianca blinded by love. It was so much more I wanna say but I spoiled it enough. If you haven't read it I suggest you do so. Great Job Lakia

Real Niccas

Great Read. Magnificent, Tiffany and Bianca's parents are trash, mainly their mother but the father ain't really no better cause he just follows her lead. I'm glad Bianca finally saw her mother for what she was and apologized to her sisters cause she was blowing me. I love Zayden and Magnificent. They have no chill at all. Byron wasn't shyt and Jeffrey was the devil. Byron didn't take the warning from Ahmad behind Tiffany and neither did Jeffrey when Zayden told him to stay away from Bianca. Now they both tap dancing with the devil.💜💜

🔥🔥🔥

You never cease to amaze me Lakia. This book was another banger…. I loved seeing how all the relationships came together and grew ❤️ Carter, Ahmad and Zayden was EVERYTHING 🔥❤️💪🏽. I’m glad the sisters were able to build that unbreakable bond it was beautiful to read plus I’m super close to my sisters and I’m always gone ride for them!!! Jeffery and Byron was sad, pathetic and triflin smh. This was a great read and can’t wait to see what’s next !!!

Great read

This book had it all…hood and a little bougie-ness all wrapped up in one. While Magnificent had the terrible childhood, Tiffany and Bianca got caught up in horrible adult situations. I thought Ahmad would be the main character, but the author managed to give Zayden plenty of spotlight. The ending was great. Seems like everybody got what they truly deserved, good and bad.

Can't change everyone

Some people are so stuck in their ways that you will never be able to change them. Thier parents were the absolute worst!!!! Putting their happiness on the back burner just to say you have a man smh. And the mom was the worst these are your daughters and all you care about is how they are precived by the world. I'm so glad all 3 men should that they loved their beautiful queens and how a man should love a woman properly.

The fellas represented well

Awww, all of the fellas were super sweet. Zayden had to grow on me with his disrespectful self but Ahmad was book bae from the jump. We never did find out why the parents treated Magnificent the way that they did. So it felt a little incomplete without that back story but it still was a good book. I absolutely loved how protective all of the men were of their women. Kudos to the author on a job well done.

well written exciting story

This was an outstanding story. I love how Ahmad and Zayden stuck together. I loved how they had a legal business, I mean they were still super hood but legit with it. Tiffany and Bianca slowly but surely shook of the brainwashing from their parents and started thinking for themselves. I loved the close bond the 3 couples had. Magnificent was my girl and she kept it real always. Great story.

A Hitta’s World

When I say I loved this book. I loved this book!!!! Loved how Carter uplifted magnificent to her full potential!!! She was there for both her sisters in their time of need without a ‘I told You So’. I loved how both Zayden and Ahmad were there for Bianca and Tiffany. Great read!!

A refreshing change from the Dope boy urban storyline!!

This was such a great surprise. Drama galore with a few lessons learned. The unknown at first connections of the characters were a treat. The Beaumont sisters were no joke once they banded together, despite their parents ideas. Byron and Jeffrey met an unmovable object, a good man’s love and lost.

Fantastic

Lakia never disappoints, I love this book from beginning to end, the brothers Ahmad and Zayden just fit right in with the sisters Tiffany & Bianca. Magnificent is the oldest out the sisters. This such a romantic story with a little bit of Thug!
We need a Spin Off with Bianca & Zayden story.

Great Job Lakia

So Good

This was really good. Jeffery and Byron had me smh with the antics they were pulling and they both got what they deserved. The mentality of the girl’s parents as well as Byron and Jeffery’s parents were unbelievable. So glad that the girls got their happy endings with three hood men.

⭐️⭐️

Didn’t hate it.

Didn’t love it.

Just 🫤 meh.

The writing style didn’t exactly work for me. The story overall was a little far fetch, like the characters were caricatures of “hittas” and “fn”. The homosexual/ down low plot felt overly simplified and again a caricature of those issues.

Again… just not a fav. Didn’t hate, definitely didn’t love it🤷🏾‍♀️.

Real Love

It’s sad how some parents will try to break their kids down to make themselves look good to everyone e. I’m glad Magnificent, Tiffany, and Bianca were able to get from under their parents toxic wings. Glad all these women found real love and men that didn’t play about them.

Caught Up in a Hitta’s World had me hooked from beginning to end! The drama was intense, and I loved how Ahmed and Zayden stood solid for their women. Watching Tiffany, Bianca, and Magnificent’s relationship evolve throughout the book was a great touch—it added depth and made their bond feel real. Definitely a page-turner can’t wait to start part 2
