Susan Eloise Spaeth was born on 11 December 1946 in Cuthbert, Georgia, USA. She was the eldest daughter of Maggie Eloise Cliatt, a nurse and also journalist, and William Olin Spaeth, a college professor. Her mother was part of the women's liberation movement many years before it became fashionable. Her best friends are her mother and her sister, Dannis Spaeth (Cole), who now has two daughters, Amanda Belle Hofstetter and Maggie and lives in Utah. Susan grew up reading Zane Grey and fell in love with cowboys. Susan is a former newspaper reporter, with sixteen years experience on both daily and weekly newspapers. Since 1972, she has been married to James Kyle and have since settled down in Cornelia, Georgia, where she started to write romance novels. Susan and her husband have one son, Blayne Edward, born in 1980.

She began selling romances in 1979 as Diana Palmer. She also used the pseudonyms Diana Blayne and Katy Currie, and her married name: Susan Kyle. Now, she has over 40 million copies of her books in print, which have been translated and published around the world. She is listed in numerous publications, including Contemporary Authors by Gale Research, Inc., Twentieth Century Romance and Historical Writers by St. James Press, The Writers Directory by St. James Press, the International Who's Who of Authors and Writers by Meirose Press, Ltd., and Love's Leading Ladies by Kathryn Falk. Inspired by her husband, who quit a blue-collar manufacturing job to return to school and get his diploma in computer programming, Susan herself went back to college as a day student at the age of 45. In 1995, she graduated summa cum laude from Piedmont College, Demorest, GA, with a major in history and a double minor in archaeology and Spanish. She was named to two honor societies (the Torch Club and Alpha Chi), and was named to the National Dean's List. In addition to her writing projects, she is currently working on her master's degree in history at California State University. She hopes to specialize in Native American studies. She is a member of the Native American Rights Fund, the American Museum of Natural History, the National Cattlemen's Association, the Archaeological Institute of Amenca, the Planetary Society, The Georgia Conservancy, the Georgia Sheriff's Association, and numerous conservation and charitable organizations. Her hobbies include gardening, archaeology, anthropology, iguanas, astronomy and music.

In 1998, her husband retired from his own computer business and now pursues skeet shooting medals in local, state, national and international competition. They love riding around and looking at the countryside, watching sci-fi on TV and at the movies, just talking and eating out.

This is a collection of two Cowboy Romance Novellas. I have to start off by saying the second Novellas in this book is Colorado Cowboy, and that novellas was in the Lone Wolf by Diana Palmer. Lone Wolf was also a collection of novellas, so I was a little upset that the same novella was in both these books. I wish this book was two new novellas. I did really love Colorado Cowboy. The first novella was The Rancher’s Wedding. That novella was good, but I felt the last part of this novella felt very rushed. I did love all the characters in that novella, and I really love the animals in this story. The plot pulled me into it, and I think there was a lot to it for a novella. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Zebra Books) or author (Diana Palmer) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I wanted cowboy smut, but I instead got prideful, traditional cowboy featuring naive, never-been-touched, uncomplicated woman-child. I love a respectful, rugged cowboy but if his ego is gonna be as fragile as a glass bowl I’ll pass. I didn’t realize this book had two stories so that was pretty funny to find out. This book was funny in general mostly because it was so bad. I will say I think the “instant love” trope just isn’t my cup of tea and this was so incredible full of that so it equally made me laugh and seethe in anger.

Rancher’s Wedding
I liked the first kiss scene a lottt. But, I’m sorry Cassie and JL didn’t have good banter. The whole time she was just agreeing with him. Even with the big drama where he found out her secret he was like “you should go” and she left immediately without trying to defend herself? Like girl say something. Use your voice. What is this the 1900s? I didn’t get a good grasp of her character. The end was also extremely rushed. It was like boom they made up, boom they’re getting married, boom they’re on a jet, boom they had sex, boom they had a kid. I was like damn, let me breathe what is happening! JL’s character was hilarious because the whole “I’m a business man cowboy” is kind of a weird mix.

Colorado Cowboy
I liked Esther and Butch together way more. They seemed like they had fun when they talked and he was so incredibly sweet to her. If a beautiful sexy cowboy told me, “I think I dreamed you” I would do unspeakable things. And they really did seem aligned in their vision of the future. However! This man’s ego was the size of Alaska! How is that he finds out his wife is set to inherit millions of dollars and he’s furious??? Because he doesn’t want her to make more money than him?? Grow UPPP bro. And then this woman actually tells him, “Don’t worry, I’ll put the money in a trust fund that only the kids can use. And I’ll keep waitressing. We’ll make an honest living.” LMAO, girl no. This man has brainwashed you! Run away! Run as fast as you can! Because he has to be the “protected and provider” she now has to slum it at a breakfast diner for $5 an hour and tips! A real man would never, I’m sorry.

This is two stories in one book -- a sort of series. In the first one a Colorado rancher meets a local waitress that is new in town. She is really a television series writer who s hiding from a scandal involving her father who is a star of a series. Both are trying to avoid publicity and are working in the small ranching community. The second story involves a wildlife rehabilitator that we met in the first story who takes in injured animals and nurses them back to health and reintroduces them to their wilderness environment. He finds a nearly frozen girl in the snow in his front yard. She is running from the person who killed her mother and now wants her inheritance. Both stories are set in the same community in Colorado ranch country. I love the setting, the characters, and this author's way of telling a story. I highly recommend this book for some enjoyable reading time.

Kiss Me Cowboy by Diana Palmer is an old fashion romance novel. In this book, there are two novellas, both were tied together by characters that knew each other and the town of Benton, Colorado. These novellas, The Rancher’s Wedding and Colorado Cowboy have both been published as novellas.

Both novellas include older more world-wise men with women who have been sheltered and are innocent. The women on top of this sheltered innocence, feel they have to hide the truth about their background, which causes problems for them within the story. Both weddings feel rushed to me, but novellas often feel rushed to me.

The Rancher’s Wedding was about a rancher and a writer of a popular series who has moved to Benton, Colorado to hide with her father. She gets a job as a waitress at the local eatery and is tricked into meeting the rancher. The Colorado Cowboy is about a wildlife rescuer and a woman who showed up seeking shelter. She also is worried about being accused of killing her mother and being tracked down by a killer.

Both stories are a quick read. All of the characters are full of angst about themselves, the truth and the relationship. The stories are mostly sweet with the hot scenes happening only after they are married.

Kiss Me Cowboy by Diana Palmer is a good read.

Two for the price of one. Two novellas about cowboys and the women who love them. I liked the first novella better than the second. I liked the wolf featured in both. I didn’t warm up to JL in the first one. I thought he was too constrained and unforgiving. Palmer touched on some contemporary topics in the first one, which rarely works out in real life the way it does in fiction.

This is a book collection of 2 novella's with the 2nd one already previously been published. But as they are connected by characters that know each other, they have been put together into this book. Book 1 is The Rancher's Wedding and book 2 is Colorado Cowboy. So if you have read or have these books from previously, they are the exact same books just put together!

Book 1 The Rancher's Wedding
Cassie Reed was a writer for a popular show who has moved to Benton and is now a waitress. She came with her father in order to avoid their past and the problems that happened to them. JL is a local rancher who has just split with his fiance and isn't looking for another relationship any time soon. Not after the way it ended and how he was hurt by it. He and Cassie meet under unusual circumstances, and they find they have a connection that neither was expecting. I found it to be somewhat funny at times and a decent read, if a little off putting with JL at times. And the ending seemed extremely fast, almost abrupt.

Book 2 Colorado Cowboy
Esther ends up in Benton trying to hide from her mother's abusive boyfriend. Butch lost his arm when he was in the military and now spends his time as a wildlife rehabber. When Esther shows up at his home one night, he knows she is running from something but not what. And he lets her in because he knows he can keep her safe. It's a sweet, easy read but somewhat shorter than I would like. This novella was published just last year in an anthology with 2 other author's. I get wanting to put 2 interconnected novella's together but I almost wish that something had been added to the story to make it slightly different or even just to make it longer so it didn't feel quite so rushed.

All in all, these aren't bad reads. They are decent, I just wish they were longer and not so rushed along. I also wish the 2nd story wasn't just a re-release of a previous story. Or at least say that in the description for the book, because I definitely didn't know that until I was reading it and sat there thinking-but I already read this book.

Kiss Me, Cowboy by Diana Palmer is made up of two novellas: The Rancher's Wedding and Colorado Cowboy. In the first we find Cassie Reed, formerly a writer on television's most popular program, waiting on tables in a cafe in the middle of nowhere, Benton, Texas. Her father who had been a successful television producer was selling big equipment in the same town. They were looking to fly under the radar. The scandal, which had touched their lives, was in the past and they wanted it to stay that way. It had been nice meeting that nice rancher, JL Denton, despite the fact she'd been duped by his cousin, Cary, and gone out to his ranch to picket against his treatment of chickens, when the fact was he had no chickens at all.

Colorado Cowboy was a story of another resident of the same town who was a wildlife rescuer named Butch Matthews who opened his door one night to, what appeared to be an angel. She was running. He didn't know from what but he let her in and so began a real romance. But, Esther was rich, or would be when she got her inheritance from her mother. Butch would hate that. What was she to do. She had to keep away from Darrin, the man who had killed her mother, and never let Butch know about her money.

These were both sweet romances with endearing characters. They were feel-good stories, which were really a little too good to be true. The first especially when the end seemed rushed although it was nice. Their marriage seemed to be a good one as it was mentioned in the second book. They were both simplistic and the end was apparent pretty close to the beginning. The journeys were decent, though. I always love a cowboy romance and these four characters were all good people who deserved the happy endings they got.

This is an enjoyable collection of two sweet small town romances set in Diana Palmer's Colorado Country series. Previously published as part of other anthology series, they are the perfect length to curl up with on a quiet afternoon.

The Rancher's Wedding;
Trying to escape a scandal plaguing the family, Cassie Reid and her father leave New York behind for the small town of Benton, Colorado. Working as a waitress in the town diner, Cassie struggles to settle into her new life. J. L Denton soured on romance when the last woman he dated took him for a ride. Somehow, though, the new waitress at the diner has gotten under his skin. The more he sees of her, the more he likes. Yet, wen the scandal Cassie is running from catches up with her JL need to choose - let go of Cassie or let go of the past.

Colorado Cowboy
Wildlife rehabilitator Butch Matthews lives a quiet, lonely life with only his three legged wolf, Two Toes, for company. The last thing he expects to find outside his cabin on a cold winter night is a woman collapsed in the snow. After watching her mother's boyfriend kill her mother, Esther Marist ran with only the clothes on her back. With nowhere to go, she hitches a ride on a big rig and winds up in Benton, Colorado. Cold and alone, she collapsed in the snow and woke to find herself in the home of a stranger.
After hearing Esther's story, Butch's protective instincts immediately kick in. As the spend more time together, protective instincts turn slowly to like, then to love. Esther is happy to settle into her new life with Butch, but her mother's boyfriend is still searching for her. And she has one big secret she hasn't yet shared with Butch, a secret that threatens to break them apart.

As always, Diana Palmer delivers sweet romance, though the road isn't always smooth. And each of these stories include some pretty big bumps. But, as with all Ms. Palmer's stories, a happy ever after is always guaranteed.

After a little sleuthing I found that both stories had been in collections with Katie Pearce, The Rancher's Wedding was part of Marrying My Cowboy and Colorado Cowboy was in Lone Wolf. But I read them again. before realizing it. Both stories are connected by women who had fled to Benton, Colorado. In The Rancher's Wedding, Cassie Reed and her father had come to Benton after her father was falsely accused of sexual harassment and the hyenas on social media had harassed them so the point that Mrs. Reed had committed suicide. They are hiding out in Benton, until (Lanier ) Roger Reed's lawyer can get witnesses to provide that the woman had lied and had done this many times to "climb the ladder". Meanwhile, Cassie is working as a waitress in the local diner, where she meets wealthy rancher JL Denton. In the second book, Colorado Cowboy, Esther Marist flees for her life after witnessing her wealthy mother's boyfriend murdered her, by throwing her down the stairs. She too flees to Benton and ends up at the cabin of one armed Iraq veteran, Butch Matthews, who nows works for the Forest Service rehabilitating injured wildlife. Both men have been lied to by former fiancees, who were really only interested in their money. So as romance blossoms, both women are afraid to tell them that they are wealthy and in Cassie's case, she was very successful. Both women are also sexually moral, so clean reads. Many of the same characters are in both books, and there is Two Toes. I did enjoy the books the second time around.

Kiss Me, Cowboy includes two novellas:

The Rancher’s Wedding
Cassie and her father are hiding from a scandal and a tragedy in small town Benton, Colorado.
JL Benton is a local rancher who recently broke up with his fianceé and is done with trusting women.
JL meets Cassie when he finds her outside his ranch protesting his abuse of chickens.
JL gets a kick out of her spunk and proceeds to inform her that he is the owner of a cattle ranch with nary a chicken in sight.
What ensues is a delightful relationship that starts with two people who become friends and quickly realize they want more.
I enjoyed this short story. The end came all too abruptly, but the characters were endearing and this was a delightful read.

Colorado Cowboy
On the run from her mother’s abusive boyfriend, Esther turns up in Benton, Colorado.
Butch is a war veteran who lost his arm in a mortar attack and spends his time as an animal rehabilitator for the state wildlife division.
Butch and Esther have each experienced loneliness in their lives and find the connection they need in one another.

I enjoyed the first novella more than the second. There was a “not like other girls” undertone in both novellas that was a bit off-putting
and passively shaming of more worldly women. That aspect turned me off. I am fairly new to reading Diana Palmer, so maybe it just
happens to be the characterization of these particular characters?

Both stories contained in this book are sweet, clean romances. The heroes are alpha males that have been hurt in the past and very wary about love and relationships. They just are not willing to open their hearts up again. Yet, they soon meet their matches, their ones. All it takes is a sweet, rather innocent and all too soft-hearted woman to change each hero’s stance on love and bring out his protective instincts. The heroine in each story is in distress when she first meets her hero, and each has a secret she is keeping, first to protect herself from harm, and then to protect him or someone else. When the secrets are revealed, neither hero takes the revelation well and therein lies the source of the conflict for both couples.

I loved the chemistry between JL and Cassie, as well as Butch and Esther. Even though JL and Butch didn’t know the women before they appeared at their doorstep, both men stepped up to help them and keep them safe. As each man gets to know the woman he rescued, he discovers a sweet innocence, a warm compassionate heart and an unexpected core of strength within her. Both Cassie and Esther have suffered terrible losses due to the heinous actions of others, but unlike the men, they still have open hearts. The secrets they carry are meant to protect, not to deceive the men they have given their hearts to, but secrets are not always revealed when and how one would want them to be. Each story has a very enjoyable happily ever after, but how each couple attains it makes for engaging and entertaining reading.

This is a 2-in-1 book by Diana Palmer. Both stories are heartwarming and fun, in their own way. Loved them both!

Book 1: The Rancher's Wedding
After a shocking scandal, Cassie Reed and her dad move to little Benton, Colorado. He works selling farm equipment and Cassie is a waitress at the local diner. Tricked into picketing a local rancher, Cassie is shocked when he's more amused than angry and takes her to his house to dry off and warm up. JL Denton's wounded, having recently lost a fiancee, so he's surprised to find himself enjoying this little firecracker. After a ride on his ranch, in which they encounter a pack of wolves and Cassie has an asthma attack leading to a more serious infection, JL finds himself taking care of her and enjoying being needed. The circumstances for why Cassie and her dad are in Colorado almost breaks them up, but with an entire town and friends both East and West on her side, things work out for the best.

Book 2: Colorado Cowboy
On the run from her mother's murderous boyfriend, Esther Marist hitches a ride with a trucking couple who take her to Benson. Here she lucks into being dropped at the perfect cabin. This cabin is occupied by Butch Matthews, a wildlife rehabilitator and lonely war veteran. Butch discovers her passed out in a snowdrift outside his cabin and brings her inside, providing food and a place to stay, and keeping her safe with the help of an old wolf. As they spend time together and Butch discovers more of Esther's story, his compassion is stirred as well as his heart. Esther is smitten with the rough injured man and loves spending time with him. Becoming engaged to protect Esther's reputation, they discover that they want more and so marry. But when the past catches up to Esther, more than one revelation causes problems.

Diana Palmer’s latest release is a combo of the #1 Benton, Colorado book, The Rancher’s Wedding involving the introduction of J.L. Denton when he meets a lone protester in the lane by his ranch. She heard a rumor that he was being cruel to the chickens he raised. As it turns out he is a cattle rancher. He brings her in out of the rain. Cassie has come to Colorado with her father. They both are TV writers from New York where problems have ensued. It is a fun story; a novella that is heartwarming and entertaining.
The second selection is Colorado Cowboy. Esther Marist is staying with her mother. Terry is attacked and killed by her boyfriend who is after her wealth. Esther flees the scene on foot. She is picked up by a couple driving a semi-truck and taken to Benton where her mother has told her to find her grandfather. She is dropped off at a cabin where she finds Butch Matthews and his wolf, Two-Toes. He gives her shelter and helps to find her a job. It too is an exciting, entertaining novella.
Kiss Me Cowboy will be published on March 29, 2022 by Zebra Books. I appreciate their allowing me to read and review Diana Palmer’s latest title via NetGalley. This is a touching comfort selection. Do enjoy!

Diana Palmer brings us two novellas in one. The first is The Rancher's Wedding. It is the story of Cassie and JL. Cassie and her father have come to Colorado to get away from the scandal surrounding their family. JL is recovering from betrayal and heartbreak. Will they be able to get past their insecurities and open up to each other after all the hurt they felt before? Or will they let it get in the way of their future? The second one is Colorado Cowboy. It is the story of Esther and Butch. We meet Esther running away from her mother's killer and ending up in Colorado at Butch's doorstep. As they get to know each other better, will Esther share enough to keep everyone safe or will he silence cost lives? Will they be open enough to let love in?

Diana Palmer brings us sweet stories with Cassie and Esther and their men. It is always nice to return to Colorado with her and see how everyone is doing since last we met. These books have appeared in other collections so they are not new to those who are Diana Palmer fans. I received an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Kiss Me, Cowboy contains two Diana Palmer stories - The Rancher's Wedding and Colorado Cowboy.
Two other combo books have come out prior to this one. One had Parker's story and the other contained Buck Matthews story, which is Colorado Cowboy. So Kiss Me, Cowboy contains a story already available in Lone Wolf, which has three stories total two from other authors.

The Rancher's Wedding is story of JL Benton and Cassie. JL has been hurt before by his cousin and a former fiancé. Cassie and her father come to Colorado to escape scandal and tragedy. There is a pure Angus herd of cattle with calves Cassie coos over. There is an old wolf, Two Toes. Cassie and JL's interactions are fraught with misunderstanding, but love wins in the end.

Colorado Cowboy is the story of Buck Matthews, the wildlife rehabilitator who saves Two Toes, and Esther Marist, who is fleeing her mother's murderer.

Both heroines are awfully sweet. The men are gruff. The problems they face at the beginning of the story get worked out to their advantage. These are stories of life as we wish it would turn out.

Kiss me Cowboy is a compilation of two novellas, The Rancher’s Wedding and Colorado Cowboy, by Diana Palmer. Both stories are set in Benton, Colorado and have a cross section of characters.

The Rancher’s Wedding tells the tale of wealthy rancher JL Denton and how he meets Cassie Reed. Cassie and her dad, Roger, recently moved to Benton to maintain a low key life and avoid the aftermath of a scandal. The secrets they keep may just be the downfall of the relationship.

Colorado Cowboy is the telling of the story of Butch Mathews and Esther Marist. Heiress Esther is fleeing from her mother’s murderer and seeking somewhere to stay. She fled with little money, and no cell phone. After hitching to small Benton, Esther approaches a cabin off the road and is found by wildlife rehab expert Butch Mathews. Butch is a disabled veteran, having lost part of an arm, and because of this his self esteem has taken some hits. This leads to a bumpy road.

These stories are very interesting and I did find the small town of Benton and it’s residents a place I would like to visit again. I enjoyed these stories and do recommend this book.

This book has 2 novellas both with unique storylines and the men in both are not jerks like past Diana Palmer heroes. In "The Rancher's Wedding", Cassie is a screenwriter hiding out in a small town due to a big city scandal and catches the eye of well to do rancher JL who was hurt by his gold digging former fiance. Cassie keeps something from JL and when it comes out, JL overreacts. I really liked this story and how the storyline was not just about a broody rancher. Esther is fleeing her mother's killer in "Colorado Cowboy" and finds herself falling for Butch a vet who lost his arm in the war. He was hurt by a former girlfriend who dumped him after seeing his missing arm. Butch is so sweet and is completely enamored of Esther who hides that she is an heiress from the proud Butch. Butch lashes out at Esther but I think really he had feelings of inadequacy that maybe he is not good enough for the beautiful and innocent Esther. I also liked this one and its interesting storyline. The stories are interconnected but not really sequels.

The Rancher’s Wedding is the first of two novella and in my opinion the better story. Cassie and her father are in hiding in small town Benton, Colorado. They are trying to avoid the bad publicity and false actuation they left behind in NY. JL is a rancher, millionaire that lives near Benton. Their paths crossed when Cassie is tricked into believing that JL abused his chickens in the hen house. Come on he’s a rancher! Cassie is portrayed as a innocent, which seems unrealistic. There are some ups and downs before the HEA.
The second novella is a repeat. Colorado Cowboy, was also in Lone Wolf. Was a disappointment the 1st I read it. The characters were unrealistic, I didn’t want to read it again.

funny how this book cover is not in multiple covers ...just one. i wonder why??! i always try to find the book cover i did read verses what they are suggesting here on Goodreads. i guess the publisher changes it up ...depending on the type of book, verses ebook or hard copy or even paper back? i wonder??! i read 1. Iron Cowboy, 2. Dangerous, 3. Kiss Me, Cowboy, 4. Unbridled, 5. The Rancher, 6. The Rancher & Heart of Stone, 7. Renegade. and i found this through my local library leaning program ...i would really advise you to do so ...you will find books that often Amazon doesn't suggest to you or maybe you didn't know an author they will suggest ...it is great to find lots of books and new authors, all that jazz-iness. so fun!! now can i pick a favorite??! i love out west views. fun time. read on.

The Rancher's Wedding
I liked this romantic story of Cassie, a waitress and JL, a rancher. They both had pasts and secrets that came to life for different reasons. It was very interesting learning about Cassie and her father.
Benton, Colorado sounded like a fun, small ranching community where the people had each other's backs. I really liked the small town and its fun characters.

Colorado Cowboy
I liked how the characters in this book tied in with the characters in the first book. This was a very quick love story that was interesting. I liked Esther but at times she seemed a little too naive. It was nice learning more about Butch, his job and his past. I wish the story was a little bit longer.

The Rancher’s Wedding

This is a classic novella by Diana Palmer. It takes place in Colorado. I love the characters. JL is an interesting character. He is an alpha who is used to being in charge. Cassie is very innocent in men’s ways. They’ve both been hurt. This is a quick read that I really enjoyed.


Colorado Cowboy

This is another fast and easy novella to read. I really like Esther. She is very sweet and innocent. Butch is a military vet that lost one arm. He's got a great deal of pride that almost costs him Esther.

This book is a two in one deal. Two stories, one book, but I am disappointed by the fact that the second story in this book was recycled from her previous book which was release last year with two other authors. I guess she wanted to just have her name on the book instead of the collection of novellas she did with the others. I liked the wolf featured in both. I wasnt a fan of JL in the first one. I thought he was too constrained and unforgiving. This would be a great afternoon read and more of a quick intro to the author.

I really enjoyed this book, well books as it was made up of two stories!

I thought that it had a good storyline, it was well developed and I really enjoyed the writing style in the two stories told by Diana, it is the same theme for both books and it worked really well.

The characters were really well developed and I loved getting to know them
The book was well written and enjoyable

It is 4 stars from me for this one, I really enjoyed it – highly recommended!

This is a collection of two Cowboy Romance Novellas, both of which had previously been published. They are very formulaic. The sweet, naïve, unrealistic virgin heroine and the gruff, harsh, down right nasty hero. This is Ms. Palmer's standard formula which she has written many times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. These are just OK novellas. I am not really enjoying these lead women who are just out of touch with current times. And the lead men are just mostly a-holes. I really keep hoping for more.

JL is the jilted rancher who we spent an inordinate amount of time rehashing his last relationship.

In Colorado Cowboy, Esther is on the run and Butch is out to help her.

It had been a while since I read a Diana Palmer, but you know what you are getting, a slightly old fashioned western.
