I’ve just moved to the legendary Haven Hollow to start the next chapter of my life…

My name is Sydney Blackstone, better known as The Sandman.

After losing my wife two years ago and getting lost in grief ever since, I decided I needed to start over.

So, I find myself in Haven Hollow, where I plan to open my own mattress store, Sandman Syd’s.

Almost as soon as I move to Haven Hollow, though, I realize my work is cut out for me—someone is having not only bad dreams but dangerous ones.

As the Sandman, it’s my responsibility to relieve this sleeper of whatever night terror is after them.

Little do I know the culprit is the infamous Jormungandr, the legendary serpent from Midgard.

With such a powerful predator on the loose, I don’t have much time to ensure the citizens of Haven Hollow are safe and, more pointedly, one citizen in particular: Bailey Bennett.

At the moment Bailey, a psychic from Spook Society, walks through my door, I have a feeling she won’t be walking out anytime soon.

As long as I can keep her safe, that is…

A Nightmare in Haven Hollow

This is the 21st book in the Haven Hollow series. It is a collaboration between HP Mallory and JR Rain. The book falls in the Paranormal Women’s Fiction genre.

This series keeps getting better and better. I love the characters and the world of Haven Hollow.

This novella introduces new characters to the Hollow. Syd is still coming to terms with his wife’s passing. Moving to Haven Hollow and setting up his new business seems like the way to go.

Sandman Syd’s is the new retail outlet for all things mattress and sleep related. Regular readers won’t be surprised to hear that Sandman is also his occupation and it’s his job to keep the nightmares at bay. He’s arrived just in time; citizens of the hollow are being plagued by a particularly vicious nightmare which is intent on breaking through the veil into the Hollow.

Syd needs some help, both with his mattress business and his occupational hazards. In comes Bailey Bennet, a psychic from the Spook Society, who is drawn to his business and might just end up becoming more than his assistant.

The Haven Hollow series is written from a variety of points of view and features stories from Wanda’s Witchery, Poppy’s Potions, Spook Society, Haven Homes and Remarkable Remedies. They all run in parallel with each other. The reading order so far is:

Gypsy Magic : Poppy’s Potions (Haven Hollow, Book 1)
Cashmere Curses : Wanda’s Witchery (Haven Hollow, Book 2)
Faery Enchantment : Poppy’s Potions (Haven Hollow, Book 3)
Spandex Sorcery : Wanda’s Witchery (Haven Hollow, Book 4)
Love’s Goddess : Poppy’s Potions (Haven Hollow, Book 5)
Demon in Denim : Wanda’s Witchery (Haven Hollow, Book 6)
Taffeta Trickery : Wanda’s Witchery (Haven Hollow, Book 7)
The Black Cat Cocktail Club : Poppy’s Potions (Haven Hollow, Book 8)
French Country Frights : Haven Homes (Haven Hollow, Book 9)
All Hallows Eve : Remarkable Remedies (Haven Hollow, Book 10)
Mystic Veil : Poppy’s Potions (Haven Hollow, Book 11)
The Yule Log : Remarkable Remedies (Haven Hollow, Book 12)
The Broken Mirror : Remarkable Remedies (Haven Hollow, Book 13)
Art Deco Apparitions : Hallowed Homes (Haven Hollow, Book 14)
The Vampire’s Grave : Remarkable Remedies (Haven Hollow, Book 15)

Welcome back to Haven Hollow, Syd has moved to the quaint little town to start over. There is something special about Syd, besides the fact that he has the best beds in the whole state. He is an honest to goodness Sandman. He is one busy man between getting his store ready and chasing a serpent of myth. He has to find this monster and keep the citizens of Haven Hallow before it is too late, well even the one person that he is starting to have feelings for Bailey Bennett the pretty psychic from the Spook Society.
I am loving this series and the fact that has revolving characters. Each book seems to have some great new characters. This book is all about Syd a sandman who is trying get his feet under him after the loss of his wife. He is a sweet man who just wants to have his life and do his job. There is an underlying hero that he doesn't know he has until push comes to shove. Bailey is such a sweet girl who is stronger than everyone sees, she is a no-nonsense woman who has been through a lot and wants to have that one person to hang with. Syd is that person they have an immediate attraction to each other, and it is fun to watch it develop. Wd also get to meet Maverick, Syd babysitter until the council votes on if Syd can stay and he isn't going to hurt anyone.
This is a fun book to read, loving that there is a whole new set of characters in this story, It is really feeling like a town growing and adding new people all the time. The authors have a way of making each story fresh and an enjoyment to read. This is one of those stories that have a way to have you fall in love with them and each story links to the next story seamlessly. So if you want a fun book to read check it out. You will love to get to know the characters

Day Dream is Book 6 in the Remarkable Remedies series and Book 21 in the Haven Hollows series. Following newcomer Sydney Blackstone, aka Sandman Syd, Day Dream almost seems like a standalone in both of the forementioned series'. The story focuses on more of the secondary characters as Syd tries to settle into his new life in Haven Hollow. Very different storytelling in Day Dream but yet completely intertwined in the Haven Hollow setting.

I enjoyed Day Dream, learning about Syd, and following his integration into Haven Hollow. Day Dream is another fantastic and fun novel in the Remarkable Remedies/Haven Hollow series. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

When a Sandman moves to Haven Hollow to establish a mattress store, he makes friends and readers get to know new residents. Bailey does not make enough money at the Spook Society and goes to work for Syd, the Sandman. There are lots of new supernatural beings introduced and not all are welcomed. Syd is interesting because he is mourning the loss of his wife and unable to move on in his life. He has a sense of duty to those sleeping on his mattresses and takes his responsibilities seriously. Faithful readers will enjoy Maverick in his new role on the council and be impressed with his leadership.

Not the best story in the series, but still really good!

I’m gonna be honest and say that this is not my favorite book in the series. But, it’s still really good. Really fun to read. But maybe why I didn’t love it as much, is because there were a lot of new characters and it missed that series-feel for me. I had a bit of a hard time getting into it. But once I got there I very much enjoyed it!

Perfect

Wonderful to meet a few new supernaturals and to pull together 2 of my favourite pantheons, Egyptian and Norse. Now all they have to do is add in the Greek pantheon and I'm triple blessed with such excellent story lines from wonderful authors.

Wonderful!!!!

A real action packed story about the newest resident of Haven Hollow, Sydney Blackstone AKA The Sandman!!! A great story with many of the residents of Haven Hollow involved. Strangely, Santa's cousin, Maverick works with / for the Council.

Good read, but

I’m not sure how it’s going to integrate into the Hollow group. Sandman seemed to be a bit undeveloped. That’s why I took a star off.

I am loving the new characters to this series! It feels like a fresh breath of air, giving new life to an already exceptional series!

Syd and Bailey fit in effortlessly with the rest of the Haven Hollow quirky characters.
