After 20 years from watching the original anime in college, to today, I finally was able to read the ending of this series. It was SUCH a ride. Full emotional moments. I teared up at times and found myself wanting to scream with joy at others. It was an intense ride but ended in a way only Full Metal Panic could. Keeping everyone on the edge of their seats until the very end.

I am so glad to have comes across these 12 volumes of Japanese light novels. This was my first taste of mech-military-fantasy. Never thought I’d like reading this. But after finishing the whole series, I have to admit, that even at this advanced age of 40 something, I ended up becoming a fan of the series. It’s just so well done!
And I felt motherly love for the young protagonists. Would have loved to raise a son like Sousuke, Brave and Kind. Thanks to the author for bringing to life a force like Chidori Kaname. She is definitely the symbol of comfort, Hope and Inspiration. To score high on comedy, adventure, fantasy and Romance all at once is no small feat. Well done!

It's a satisfactory conclusion to a funny story. It ticks all the boxes for a happy ending. Had the author wanted to make the series better there was lots of content to work with, but as he says in the afterword, this was always a boy-meets-girl story. In that sense, it delivers and I'm happy that years after I watched the first anime season, I got to read the complete story, start to finish!

Such a solid story from start to finish. I think the most captivating part of it all was how well the action was balanced with the character developments — it never felt like it leaned too far in either direction for too long. While there were some predictable components, I really did enjoy the ride from beginning to end.

A thrilling, pulse-pounding end to Full Metal Panic! So glad I got to experience this so many years after discovering the anime at its launch. It was worth the wait.
