Rate this book
Megan is determined to stop Ansel, no matter the cost, even if it means giving up her life. CJ is determined to find another way. Even with all the new power her family has amassed, it's not enough to stop the evil Ansel is collecting. All their hope now rests on the breadcrumbs leftover from myths and legends of Helena. After a bloody massacre and cryptic message from the Cinder Queen, they head back to Nalrin to find Ansel wasted no time in attacking the capital. Between traversing cursed lands and avoiding deadly, soul-consuming tar, they must find Helena. Who will still be standing when the dust finally settles?

Kimberly M. Ringer lives in Santa Cruz, California with her husband, little human, and two furballs, Wall-E (a Jack Russell mix) and Pippin (a Pomeranian terrier mix). When she isn’t writing she is reading, playing with the dogs, playing video games or down at the beach. She’s a bit geeky and nerdy, so sci-fi references and other things going on in the science world will often end up in her stories.

Jumping into others' lives via books is the best kind of escapism. Fall into your favorite genre and block out reality.

Kimberly M. Ringer also writes under the pen name K.M. Ringer

Oh. My. Five Angels.

I thought I was prepared for this wrap up of this trilogy. Nope. Not even close.

Megan, CJ, and crew have their hands full with trying to stay alive and sane while dealing heartache and countless attack - oh yeah, all while trying to save the world.

Kimberly Ringer knows how to pull at ALL the heart strings. I lost track of how many times I cried - and for so many different reasons! I cheered for warm and fuzzy moments and then again when certain terrible characters had to face the consequences of their actions. I also laughed my butt off at some of the one-liners she snuck in to ease tense moments. She always deliver on the witty banter. :)

Hold on to your hats and have an entire box of tissues ready for the last third of the book, and keep reminding yourself there IS a Happily Ever After - courtesy of a twist even I didn't see coming.

My only complaint? I can't read it again for the first time.

I can't wait to see what she writes next.

Perfect ending to the series

This was an amazing ending to the trilogy. Again Megan, CJ and the people that have become more than family are racing against time and across the world of Nalsar to stop Ansel. This book is full of magic, adventure, love, heartbreak, lose and yep just enough spice.

This entire series blew my mind in the best possible way. ALL THE FEELS!! You'll love the author and hate the author and the author again. Love, anger, anxiety, victory, fear, happiness... It's all there!

Megan and the love of her life are finally together! They are ready to start their lives! Too bad they have a pesky life-threatening mission between them and that future. Megan will have a decision to make that just might break her. Will CJ let her make that decision or stand in her way? Will she save the realms or will her evil father win? Will she lose those closest to her in their battle for good?

This is the series that made me fall in love with the fantasy genre. Let this series make you fall, too! GO READ IT!
