It's a beautifully written book about a historical event with magical realism. I loved the way the author has told the story of Kashapa, story of his mother and how he was brought up but after the place where they are building the palace and the park in Sigiriya the story got all over the place.
I would like if it had the quality of the flow and the story telling which was included in the first half. I felt like the first half was well researched and had the story well planned with the imagination but the second half was rushed and filled with unbelievable jargon. The attempt to be futuristic wasn't that interesting.
I still enjoyed the story and I like the fact that the author has discussed the normal people's lives who lived back then.

Usually I read translated novels but for the first time I fall for a Sri Lankan author’s story. It’s a wonderful story.I was very upset when I finished reading it because I never wanted an ending in it.Still I’m living in that story.I really like the author’s work.

Futuristic historical fiction. Made me think of Sri Lankan history in a new angle.

Nil Katrol is one of those rare stories that feels quiet on the outside but hits deep on the inside. I really enjoyed this book, not just as a story, but as an emotional experience.
