Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fun little novella regarding crossin over to another person's world for a change. No I don't mean fantasy. For a getaway.

Despite the characters being from different worlds, still there's something that holds them together - perhaps chemistry, perhaps romance, perhaps their difficult circumstances.

Any of those things could be the reason..and honestly who cares. I just love the story a lot, despite it being insta-love. And short on developing.

But I loved it - cause the writing was as usual awesome, the characters were super cute, and the romance and steam were so good.

Damn, I may be in awe of this one yet.

Until the next read,

-TMR

This is a quick book. Quickly written. Quickly read. It has no plot, includes inaccuracies, and is essentially what we called in college “a horny book.” Apparently, it is part of a 15-book series, and each book looks to be written by a different writer. This book irritated me from the first chapter.

Keana is running at pre-dawn in Byron Bay in Australia, and she sees the North Star (Polaris) hanging low on the horizon, shining bright. Dubious. Polaris would barely show at 1.23 degrees south latitude just south of the Equator (at 0 degrees latitude); Sydney is almost 34 degrees south latitude – presumably Byron Bay is fairly close…maybe. Regardless of its location, Keana would not see Polaris “shining bright among a canopy of stars” in Australia. Why didn’t the writer select any of dozens of stars that grace the skies over Australia? How about the Southern Cross? It’s the most familiar set of stars in the southern hemisphere. I had to check this out with friends in Perth and when I asked one of them if she’d ever seen the North Star from anywhere in Australia, she laughed at me. Good naturedly. I think.

The Australian slang got old pretty fast; it stopped being cute after the first couple chapters. Yes, Australians do speak differently from Americans, and we tend to like it. I like listening to my Australian friends, but they write without any sort of accent, and they use pretty much the same words as I do. And…they all know what a pickup truck looks like, something about which Keana doesn’t have a clue.

Keana and Finn meet before dawn on Keana’s first day back from Sydney. He’s a SEAL and, bless her heart, Keana has no idea what a SEAL is…something on television, maybe, but otherwise, no idea. Not buying it. Minutes after meeting her, Finn is narrating that she’s become the “woman [he] can’t stop thinking about” and “who makes [him] question the purpose of [his] life.” Oh, I so don’t believe that.

Over the next two days, they fall deeply in love…or, if we are going to be honest, deeply in lust. Love at first sight is a big, big trope and it needs to be written with something other than a sledgehammer. The story is a lot of events plugged together: surfing, sky diving, partying, and (of course) lots and lots and lots of sex.

The sex is so-so. There’s no real chemistry between Keana and Finn and there doesn’t have to be. It’s a story that exists as a container for sex scenes. There is no time spent on developing a loving relationship. No time spent on building chemistry between the two main characters. We have two hot bodies having sex which is fine, but it isn’t love.

Something else that irritates me about Keana is that she had a problem with her boss in Sydney and instead of filing a complaint for sexual harassment, she decided to cut her losses because she had better things to do with her time. Finn thought that was just grand. Yeah? So, she left a predator out there to prey on more innocent girls. Nice.

Another discrepancy: Keana is described as being tall and athletic. Why, then, is she used to being left behind when walking with friends? That seems contrived as a device used for her to feel grateful that Finn walked back to her when he realized she wasn’t keeping up.

And…why do both protagonists have filthy thoughts about each other from the moment they meet? Again, that is not love. That’s lust. Nothing wrong with lust, but don’t mislabel it love. It is not romance. Lusty, sure. Sexy, maybe. Romance, nope.

And…sex between strangers without a condom is just wrong. Tagging lust as true love, after minutes of knowing one another, is no excuse for not practicing safe sex. How romantic is an STD?

There are some errors. For instance:
 “His gazes right through me….” Either something was supposed to be said about his gazes or perhaps it should read, “HE gazes right through me….”
 “…a job I applied for asked me too interview,” That should read, “…asked me TO interview.” {wrong homonym}

Since these books seem to be written by different writers, I think I’ll try the next one. I like short books for momentary escapism, but I also like more substance than this one contained. Perhaps the next one will be better.

I rated this 2.5 stars and rounded down because it should have been a better book. The book does not have to be longer; it needs to be better organized and approached as a short story, which is a completely different style of writing (at least the good ones are). The premise of the story wasn’t bad. A vacationing SEAL meets a local Australian girl and they hit it off. But the main characters didn’t click. They simply had sex and called it love. Disappointing….

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Finn and Keana met when they are both jogging along the beach in Australia, she bends over to tie her shoe when he bumps into her. After they are both walking along the beach Finn apologies to Keana for almost running her over, he notices her staring out into the ocean, but she's watching the parachutes falling from the sky. Finn asks her out for coffee but she turns him down, she knows he a tourist and she's doesn't want a one night stand. So Finn asks her about surfing lessons and she directs him to her friends place. Later when Finn shows up to inquire about surf lessons he finds out that Keana will be his instructor. Keana isn't an surf instructor but she just lost her job and doesn't have anything lined up. They decide to met up later in the day after Finn purchases a wet suit. When they met for surf lessons Keana goes over some basic things and finds out that Finn knows what he's doing, so they swim out, catch a few waves. Then Keana gets knocked off her board by another surfer and Finn pull her to safety. Keana notices she likes Finn taking care of her. After they rest Keana and Finn go back out in the water, they catch a few more waves. Then another surfer knocks into Keana board and she's hit in the head, she's bleeding for her head. Suddenly Keana gets notification that there's a shark nearby so she knows they need to head in. Finn caught the notification on Keana phone and pull her in and they both work at getting to the shore. Keana is looked over but is instructed not to drive so Finn offers to take her home. They grab take out along the way and Finn hopes that she'll invite him in but she doesn't. Keana asks Finn if he'd like to come along with her the next morning on her early morning surfing, he accepts and tells her he'll pick her up. They both don't sleep well hoping for the next day. When Finn picks up Keana the next day she brings him coffee, she introduces him to all the locals at the beach. After a few hours of riding the waves they head in, they're invited to a barbecue. When they go to eat it's to noisy for them so they find a quiet spot to eat and talk. When one of the others goes to leave her car won't start, Finn offers his car and then looks over the car that won't start. He gets some help from the other and they soon figure out the problem. When Finn's car is returned he and Keana head home. She invites him inside and offers him a pair of sunglasses, but he tells her he has a spare pair. Finn notices a spider crawling on her wall and pull her to his side for protection. Keana reassures him the spider is harmless and takes care of it herself. Keana asks Finn to kiss her, then he pleasures her. Finn stops them from going any further, he explains to her that he's a Navy SEALs and he made a commitment for another six months. Finn wants Keana forever but he wants her to know what she's getting herself into with him. Finn leaves and tells her she needs to think about it before they go any further, they both don't want a broken heart. Keana paces all night thinking about things, she knows she wants stability, a home and certainty in her life. They decided to met up at a party later in the day, but Keana has an interview she needed to go to. When she arrives she finds Finn and they both decide to leave the party, it's not for them. They walk along the beach, Keana tells him she got a job offer but isn't sure if she should take it. She tells him she wants to be with him she wants to give them a shot. Keana and Finn talk about themselves to one another. Finn tells Keana that he's in love with her and Keana tells him she's in love with him. They head back to Finn's hotel and he pleasures her then she pleasures him then they make love. Keana tells Finn she'll wait for him forever how long he needs her to. Finn tells her to take the job offer she received while he does his last six months them he won't re-enlist. Keana tells Finn he's her home and he tells her she's his. They spend everyday together until the day before Finn will be flying home. Finn tells her to get dressed he has a surprise for her. They drive and Keana has no idea where he taking her until the airport comes into view and she notices the skydivers. Keana is shocked they are going skydiving. They head inside and Finn gets instructions and then they are taken up in an airplane. Soon they are falling out of the airplane to the ground, Keana tells Finn how amazing it was. Finn gives Keana an engagement ring to wear, he asks her to take a leap of faith with him. Keana thanks him as she slips the ring on her finger. Finn tells her he loves her and Keana tells him she loves him. Six months later, they video chat each other on Thanksgiving. Finn intrudes his whole family to Keana, they talk about the security he wants to start up with his brother, Logan. Keana tells him she's sold or donated most of her things, she going to keep the house her grandparents left her and rent it out. Five years later they head back to Australia as a family, Keana is glad she never sold her grandparents home. They have a daughter named Summer, who has her mother's hair and her father's eyes. Keana helps out with Camelot Security, the business they started together. Wherever they are as long as they're together they are home.

This book is part of the SEAL Team Romeo series and the main characters are Keana, who has just moved back to the small town of Bryon Bay, Australia, after quitting her job and Finn Knight, a Navy SEAL from San Diego, who has come on holiday to Australia to catch some waves and relax in between missions. His holiday hasn’t started very well, with a very loud and energetic couple rattling the wall of his hotel room each night, leaving him unable to sleep. He visits the local surf shop and arranges to have some surfing lessons and ends up with Keana as his instructor, after she fills in to help her friend at the last minute. Both are attracted to each other, but for Keana, a short fling is not really something she is interested in, especially since he lives so far away! Finn’s holiday definitely takes a turn for the better when he meets the sassy Keana and gets to go surfing in one of her favourite spots. She takes him where her friends and locals go and since he isn’t a beginner, she has a pretty easy time teaching him what to watch out for with the currents in the area. When he ends up having to help pull her out of the water after a less experienced surfer hits her on the head with their board, she begins to rethink her feelings.
He has the good looks, but more than that he is protective and willing to save her and others, as is proved slightly later on. There are lots of humorous moments when he meets some of her friends and struggles to understand them needing her to translate lots of the chat. He’s falling for her the more time they spend together and he just needs to prove to her just how serious he is about their future together. He is committed to fulfilling his current commission, but would then be free to live wherever she wants. She has no real job at the moment and is job hunting, whilst also working on having her app ideas developed. He doesn’t want to stop her doing what she wants and they will need to work together to guarantee their relationship can work once he has to go back to his dangerous work. Lots of chemistry and it seems like fate that they ran into each other. They just need to align their futures and see how they can make it work form two different continents! Hot and steamy with a great location and two people perfect for each other. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

A new insta-love collection Seal Team Romeo is a series written by various authors based around a team of Navy SEALs finding their one.

This is the first that I have read and I'm not sure how interconnected they are apart from all the same team of SEALs. From the list I have this was the first one on it so that's why I started with it.

I quite enjoy short insta-love stories, they hit the perfect spot when I don't have a lot of time and need a quick romantic book fix.

I enjoyed Fern Fraser's story. The writing was sweet and fun and I enjoyed the way their connection played out.

I look forward to reading more from SEAL TEAM ROMEO.

Finn is taking a break from back-to-back missions and is on holiday in Byron Bay, Australia. He just wants some time to recharge before his next mission starts. He lives for his job and is not looking for anything out of life apart from being there for his team and serving his country.

Keana has just returned to Byron Bay after her dream job turned into a nightmare after a new boss made it unbearable to stay. She's not sure exactly what to do but Byron Bay is home and she's hoping to regroup and start a new.

When she meets a man on the beach she's attracted because who wouldn't be with the sexy man standing in front of her. She's not a fling kind of girl though and after walking away she doesn't expect to see him again, but when she visits a friend in his surf shop and is asked to help out with a surf lesson she's surprised it's the man from the beach.

Finn might have missed his chance at the beach but now that she is standing in front of him again he plans to ask the gorgeous blonde out on a date. She's reluctant but he's never been on to give up and as he gets to know her during their lesson he is only more sure that there is something special about her.

He's no idea how to make it work living on opposite sides of the world but somehow he'll make Keana his because for the first time ever something besides his career means more to him.
"Nope. I don't need time. You have my heart. I've waited for a badass spider killing, surfing, tech whizz my entire life, but I had to travel the world to find you."

Happy Reading.

This is the first book I read from this series and figured it was a good way to try a new author. It was definitely insta-love fast but also very sweet. I liked that it took place in Australia, which sounded like an awesome place to live.
I felt like the story started kinda slow and was very detailed with some ridiculous drama, just for the sake of adding to the story (how many times is the girl going to hit her head, lol). Once they admitted to liking each other, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other but he immediately stop things from progressing and said he wanted something serious with her then he left. I didn’t understand the meaning behind him leaving, except maybe he wanted her to agree to be in a relationship with him before they slept together? After they get together, things progress very quickly. We basically get another page of how they spent the next 10 days together, then skip to 6 months later. We have to piece together that she is moving to USA to be with him because she mentions selling off her stuff. They haven’t seen each other for 6 months. They have phone/ video sex which was a little silly, just to throw in another sex scene maybe? Then we skip to a 5 year later epilogue. I really liked the heroine a lot, she seemed super cool, I also felt their connection early in the book. I just felt the ending was somewhat rushed.

Finn needed a break, so he went to Australia to clear his mind and get in some much needed surfing. That always helped. While running on the beach he ran into Keana a native to Australia and asked her where to find go surf stuff. She directed him to her friends shop. Later that day he went and also booked for a private lesson, not that he needs it but wanted to find out at about the local surfing. Just so happened that Keana came into the shop and her friend asked if she could help out and give the private lesson.
After they met up, they got along great and started hanging out. Finn knew he'd have to to back to the state's and report for duty and didn't want to get to attached. He never got to attached because it only caused heartache. He did not want to cause her any heartache. Before he was due to leave to go home, they decided they could make it work. That's exactly what they did. Once he was home, she moved to the states to be with him and he did not reenlist. So even though they were miles apart they made it work.

I liked everything about this story. The characters - Finn is on vacation from stressful job with the Navy Seals. He is in Australia to relax and surf. His job is stressful and dangerous and there is no room for love. Keane has just returned back home after losing her job. She works in technology creating apps. She is energetic, active, bubbly, easygoing and friendly. She leaves on the beach in her grandparents beach house. Finn runs into Keane when they are both out for an early morning run. They both feel a spark but continue to go on about their day. Later on in the day they run into each other again. They start hanging out together surfing and getting to know each other. This couple will quickly jump off the pages and into your heart. As Finn and Keane spend more time together they find their attraction growing. Is it love? The storyline is fun, flirty, sassy and sexy. Everything about this story felt right. A very enjoyable read!.

Finn is a Navy SEAL on vacation in Byron Bay Australia to rest and surf before his next mission. He has another 6 months in the Navy before he has to decide to retire or reenlist.

Keana is a native of Byron Bay. She just moved back after quitting her job in Sydney after her boss propositioned her. She was raised by her grandparents and inherited their beach house when they died so she will stay there for a while. She works in tech and wants to develop her own app.

Finn and Keana meet when they are both running on the beach. They bump into each other again at the local surf shop owned by one of Keana’s best friends.

Is it fate that they keep bumping into each other? Can they get to know each other in the 10 days Finn is in Australia? What will happen when Finn goes on his next mission? Liked the characters.

Kenna has returned back to her home town of Byron Bay, but having no family it doesn’t really feel like home. When out for a run she bumps into a stranger who she finds out is an American, called Finn, who is on his holidays. After meeting several times Finn sees it as fate, he has never had an attraction to a woman like this before and is determined to peruse Kenna. Kenna is hesitant about starting anything with Finn when she knows his time in town is short, however they can’t deny the amazing chemistry between them and soon they are falling for each other. With Finn leaving town soon, it looks like they could both be set for heartbreak. A really enjoyable romance story with great characters and amazing chemistry between them. Some laughs, lots of hot steamy passion, a really enjoyable book and I can’t wait for more in this series.

Loved the Aussie Banter!
Ms. Fraser has produced a fabulous story with Under Pressure. It’s such an easy read, I was invested from the start in these characters and enjoyed every moment as I easily consumed this in one sitting.
Finn, a hunky Navy SEAL is on holidays in Byron Bay, Australia between missions, his aim to relax and catch some waves; with a career dedicated to serving his country, love is not on his agenda.
However, an early morning encounter with a gorgeous blond makes him wake up and take notice. After a second run in with Keana, it must be fate, right?
As an Expat Australian I loved that this was set in Byron and the Aussie banter and descriptions of the beach effortlessly transported me back home where I could hear the seagulls in the sky, the waves pounding the shore and smell the fresh, salt ladened air. Well done Ms. Fraser, I enjoyed this a lot!!

I really wanted to love this book but it missed the mark for me in a few areas. The first part of the book was to me a lesson is surfing lingo. That took away from the book. A few sentences here and there would be great but at times it felt more like a lesson. The second thing is the main character (male). It was written that he was a Navy Seal and since I’m a disabled Navy veteran, it made me want to read it. No book ever should have sentences that give the impression or outright say in this instance that the female has to take anything he does. Could have had the same scene but said they both were consensual adults and then all would be well. Every female has a choice on sexual acra. That rubbed me the wrong way. What was described was really abuse but somehow meshes out okay because she likes it. With a few edits, this would be a five star knock it out of the park book.

Finn comes to Australia to rest and rejuvenate while on a break from the Navy SEALS. He's been feeling like something is missing. Keana has just moved back to her hometown after leaving her job. They meet one morning when they are both running. Then they meet again that same day. She ends up giving him a surfing lesson. The more time they spend together the more they feel for each other. It turns to full blown love. There is a 6 month physical separation because Finn has one more job to do and then he is done his service. They handle it well and use that time to get to know each other better. They get their HEA. The epilogue was sweet.

A great read to start off this new series. Finn is in leave in Byron Bay lol for rest and relaxation before his next mission. He’s not looking for a relationship but when he keeps randomly bumping into Keana, maybe he’s found something he shouldn’t let go. Keana is back in Byron Bay after her job went horribly wrong. Now she’s teaching surfing to tourists until she can plan her next move. She doesn’t plan to fall for Finn, the hot Navy guy who lives on the other side of the world. This was an engaging fast paced romance. These characters have an instant connection and both realize that home is actually the people you are with, not where you are. Looking forward to more books from this series. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Finding your home💞💞

I absolutely love this story! It was captivating, beautiful, and loving. Keana is back at home. She is intelligent, beautiful, and sweet. She is trying to follow her dreams. She has the hots for the stranger she just meets. Finn is on vacation. He is sexy, smart, and protective. He is on a break in between jobs. He has the hots for the woman. I love how honest they were to each other and make things work for them. Their love outweigh their journey to their happy ever after. This is my first time reading from this author and I like it. The writing was done beautifully and flows throughout the book. Fern had me hooked! Now I want to read the others books in this series. Amazing work Fern Fraser!

Wow! Absolutely loved this! Finn was a Navy SEAL and was on holiday in Australia before his next mission. Keana had just moved back to her hometown after losing her job. They met by chance while jogging but both felt drawn to the other immediately. When they kept meeting by chance it felt like fate. Finn was in love with Keana but he needed to go on his next mission and needed to find a way of keeping Keana and his commitments. Hot, steamy with amazing chemistry. There were difficulties to navigate as well as lots of fun and laugh out loud moments. Wonderful instalove romance with a beautiful HEA.

Fin is a seal and needs a little R & R. So he goes to the Byron Bay to relax. Keana is frustrated with her job so she quits and takes a little time to regroup so she goes home and instructs tourists how how to surf. She wants to launch her own apps. They meet and it is like fireworks. They really hit it off and you just know that they are destined to be together. He is a wonderful man and she is smart and independent. Will they be able to make it work. This is just one of those stories that will stay with you.

Keana had left her hometown for a dream job in the city, but when the boss put the moves are her, she is back in the seaside town. It is time to find a new job. She meets the handsome Finn, he makes her feel things but he is only here for two weeks.

Finn needed a break after back to back missions, Byron Bay is just what the doctor ordered. When he meets sweet Keana he believes he had met his one and only. He has a commitment to a six month mission coming up, will she wait?

This is a sweet and steamy read, both characters do not really have any flaws, and are perfect for each other.

A good love story

Enjoyed reading the love story between Keana and Finn. Keana lives in Australia after quitting her job because of sexual harassment. She has her grandmother's house so she wasn't worried about having a home since she also had no family/relatives. Finn is on vacation there until his next mission. They met and spent all available hours together. The descriptions of the area and the people were great. I like how she explained their language. Read what they go through and how everything ends up for them. I enjoyed it a lot and hope you will too. Written by Cindy :)

Home is a person, not a place

Finn went for the surfing but found more than he ever dreamt of, he found...home.
Keana has been alone for so long, she doesn't trust her heart, they live opposite sides of the world, how can they possibly make it work.....her heartbreak and fears of once again being left alone break Finn's heart.
He falls hard and fast and is determined that no matter what it takes they will be together, he steals my heart when he whispers 'I am your family now, I will always have your back' swoon!
I love that all of Team Romeo fall fast but embrace it, they don't run, no games, they are all in.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Keana is trying to figure out her life after quitting her dream job in Sydney because of her new slimy boss she’s back home in Byron Bay Australia. She has no family now that her grandparents, who raised her after her mother abandoned her, are gone. Finn is a Seal on leave and knows that when he finds the one he will know. When the two almost collide on a pre dawn run the sparks fly and they talk briefly before going their separate ways. Fate has them together again and the connection grows fast. Both know they found their place with the other.

I enjoyed this short romance story with all of the characters. The main characters were Keana and Finn.

Keana return to the seaside town that she grown up in. While there she helps at teaching tourists how to surf. When a guy signs up for a private lessons she there to help.

Finn is on leave because something happened. He decides to visit a seaside place and try to forget what happened. While there he meets an surfing instructor that interesting.

This was a fun short story to read. It had action and adventure. It had a few giggles throughout to. It also had a bit of steam to it.

Wonderful story. These two are sweet and loveable with just the right amount of sexy. They sure didn't plan for their lives to change like this...
Finn is ready to enjoy his leave in Australia. Sun, sand and surf are the only things on his to-do list. The last thing Keana wanted was to return to her hometown after losing her job. A jog on the beach is their first meeting, but not the last. They bond over similar interests and really enjoy each others company. Love is instant and inevitable. He only has ten days to convince her they are meant to be together... forever.

The only reason I didn't DNF this was because it was so short and I'm a fast reader. This novella was wildly unbelievable - why bother with so much (attempted) plot when this is basically the extended version of a PWP fanfic?

This novella takes the insta-love trope pretty seriously, so if that's not your favorite, I'd definitely skip it. There are also inaccurate details sprinkled throughout that will annoy a detail-oriented reader (for example, seeing the north star from Australia??). And the "possessive man & curvy woman" descriptor feels like a bait and switch, since I'm pretty sure the female MC is only ever referred to as "tall and athletic" and this story is really too short for us to see any possessiveness from the male MC.

Glad I got this for free, especially since I'll be deleting it from my Kindle library.

This book was wonderful! I was able to read it in one sitting because I just could not put it down! Finn is a SEAL with some time off and Keana lives in Australia. From the moment Finn sees her, he KNOWS that she is the one for him! This is an instalove book. In order to make their relationship work, both are willing to make sacrifices for each other.
This was a beautifully written book that I thoroughly enjoyed !.

Amazing fun and fast paced story of falling in love down under. Keana and Finn's tale has the perfect amount of drama mixed with sass, passion that leads them to finding what they have been missing.

Keana meets Finn while he is on break between missions, just expecting to relax and surf, Keana works her way into his heat.

This is a great start to a series that will have you melting page after page.

Keana has come back home to figure out her next step in life when she meets Finn, a SEAL on a two week break. The skyrockets ignite and the characters have some big decisions. With six months left of service, the two are comfortable with their future coming together. Loved the two and their chemistry, banter and entertaining situations. The locales were vivid and the emotions were strong enough to pull you in completely. The ending was perfect and can not wait to read more of this series.
