An Ogata witch must always live in Rivershore, or the wards keeping mystics safe will fall.
After her grandmother passes, Kane Ogata must leave her life in the big city behind. While dead-set on not liking her new home, the charm of the place and its inhabitants soon begin to change her opinion. Especially that cute deputy her house seem so fond of.
Maybe, just maybe, Rivershore is the place she’s been looking for. If only she can survive a pair of customers out for blood.
A cozy and steamy, non-toxic, low stakes witch romance with a HEA.
The most wholesome and cozy romance I have read in a long time! Great characters and dialouge and the steamy scenes pull you in emotionally. Pacing and tone is great and the atmosphere is so lovely, before you know it you will feel like you are a part of the world!
It’s time for a healthy and steamy relationship with sparks all around. And to top it all off, it is also filled with magic, humour and mystiques. It’s the perfect book to take with you to the beach or the park and read in a day.
When Home Finds Us by Veronica Di Dato is the first book in this genre that I ever got to read and I am so happy I did it because it felt like a welcoming embrace which hooked me from the start and made me enthused to read more. It definitely sets the bar high as it ticks all the boxes as to what I am looking for in a romance novel.
Kane is an ancestral witch who moves from Lagas (the big city) to Rivershore after her grandma has passed away. On her first day there she meets Isaak – the charming deputy who guides her around the city and helps her navigate her way around everything that is new for her. The spark between them ignites quickly and makes for a captivating story as we get to witness the progression of their relationship while simultaneously having the chance to laugh throughout the book because of the characters’ funny remarks and interactions.
What I loved most about this novel is the fact that I could enter the world and completely focus on the protagonists’ lives and stories. There’s a great balance established between the romantic side of the book and the integration of fantasy elements in a way that doesn’t overburden the reader but captures the attention instead. The chemistry between Kane and Isaak is so strong that it felt like I couldn’t get enough of them. Yet, even though it was a love story, there were still other intriguing moments in the plot which invoke further curiosity into how magic and mystiques work.
I recommend it to everyone who wants an escape from all the intensity we’re used to experience in our daily lives and for all of you who get high on love. Yes, you read it right. This read is for everyone who is in desperate need of love in their lives – the kind of love that just feels right, the one that changes your life forever. When Home Finds Us is the perfect place to experience that. Make that choice today.
If you want to read a novel that is full of romance and unexpected plot twists, that is the book for you. I am not the type of reader who likes this genre, but I decided to give "When home finds us" a try and I can gladly say that it's worth it. The stereotype of the toxic relationship between the main characters was missing entirely which, in my opinion, is one of the book's greatest strengths. Furthermore, the action takes place in alternative reality where everybody is special and different from the others. There are witches, fairies, sirens etc. which, in my opinion is really cool. Every character has its individuality and developed qualities. I strongly recommend it.
