Black Roses Grow in the Dark: A Dark Urban Paranormal

Rate this book
She rose from the darkness so they call her Black Rose…

Keisha, also known as Black Rose, is a psychic by day and a witch hunter by night. An ancient feud has caused her tribe, The Yubsari Clan, to terrorize the witches and warlocks of the Amstid Clan for centuries. The war between the two dynasties has claimed the lives of many of Black Rose’s people. Almost to the point of extinction. In the fight to save her people, Black Rose’s vengeance is unmatched and she becomes a heartless and vicious spellbinding creature.

One day, Black Rose comes across a strikingly handsome and extremely romantic warlock. Smitten, he will stop at nothing to have her. Will she fall into the warlock’s love trap and become a traitor to her people or does her loyalty lie with her clan?

Akea Uffe, the epitome of sexy, wealthy, and the son of Goon, the god of the ancient world, Anubi, thinks his life is complete. He has a successful jewelry business and a healthy newborn son. Suddenly, his world goes into shambles when he meets a beautiful witch that leaves him second guessing his love life. What will happen when Akea realizes the woman he has fallen for isn’t truly a witch? Will he get sucked into a war between two clans? Will he risk his life for his new found love?

This paranormal dark romance is about a warlock and murderous dark elf finding love in the middle of chaos. But love is about sacrifice and sometimes that sacrifice is death. Which path will Akea and Black Rose choose?

Astonishing!!!

Can we just take the time to give Natavia her flowers real quick? 💐 💐💐

I don’t know of ANY author who’s pen game come close to what she delivers consistently! Not only that, but Natavia maneuver through different genre’s effortlessly. When I think of multidimensional authors, she’s first in line.

Now about this book…

Baaaybeeehhh, Black Rose was EVERYTHING! The way Black Rose captivated each page and owned every scene blew me away! It’s not often 1 character steal the show the way she did! And then mix in Akea and the pack with their drama and…BOOM, now that’s how you formulate a masterpiece!

Black Rose’s story is in a category of its own, but it wouldn’t be complete without taking a gruesome trip down memory lane. Akea proved to be the man Goon groomed him to be!!!! If you’ve been following the ENTIRE Beasts classics, you know exactly what I mean!

Needless to say… this book GAVE and left nothing on the table! I don’t want to spoil the ending… but Lawd, Jesus!!!!!

My only request is… CAN. WE. HAVE. MORE?

OUTSTANDING!

Exactly what I expected. This book was well written no errors. I have been a huge fan of this whole series from the first book Beauty to his beast. Goon, Kanya and the rest of the original pack was everything. Now seeing their offspring live as their own pack and have families as well was great indeed. I will miss them but all things must end or do they.

Thank you Queen, I didn't realize how much I missed The Packs but oooh! I hated Circa , Jetti and then that darn Dyika got on my last nerve. I loved Black Rose & Majestic relationship and was totally entertained with Kanye's antics lol then Zaan omg LMBO but now I'm a little sad to see The Packs go,
Natavia did a awesome job was always and I can't wait to read what's next.

This book was really long but sooo good. I’m glad I decided to go ahead and read it finally. I love good storytelling, something’s were off but nothing to go off about it is fiction.

Not your typical love story

This was a great read. If you are looking for a love story that is not of this realm then this is for you. I love how the author gives the backstory and bring us to present day. I’m so happy Akea & Rose found love. I love all Natavia books and if you haven’t read please do yourself a favor and get started

paranormal with a little fantasy mixed in there.

Enjoyed the book overall. I loved that Black Fose was “evil” and not your typical main character. Also loved the supporting characters. I’m a stickler for details so below are some things I questioned.

First let me say I read a lot of paranormal and fantasy. I need certain things to make sense. With that being said, women and men are human. Every other creature are categorized as female and male. That kept getting mixed up in this book. If Akua is from Anubi, he can’t have Egyptian roots because he’s from another world. I would think for immortal beings the age of adolescence would be longer. Akea being 21 don’t sit right with me. Where did this portal lead to that Akea took Black Rose? Why wasn’t she able to teleport? Blueberries don’t grow on trees but I guess in the Black Roses world they do. If Akea could see right through Jetti, why would he have a kid with her? I think it’s weird that everyone else has fae like names but the MCs name is Keisha. If Akua is a God then his children should be as well or at least demigods. It’s just not making sense that Akua is a God, werewolf and warlock. When Rose said she was surprised Akea was raised like a human and then said she thought he’d eat fancy food; That’s rich people food not paranormal/fae food. She should’ve used a better reference. Akea has seen a lot being an immortal but he’s only 21. Again, he should’ve been older. How do people become hybrids but when they have children you can only have one gene or the other?

OMG!!! Oh wow 🤩…. So good!!!

This was again another bomb, another explosion 💥 and it’s always with the Goons. This group right here, they are the truth. They are like when you are eating a soul food from scratch on thanksgiving with a superb aged wine and the best peach cobbler straight from the oven with French vanilla churn ice cream on top. It ALWAYS hit the spot….
Black Rose 🥀/ Rose 🌹/ Lyica, all I truly can say in all honesty is simply WOW 🤩 WOW 🤩 and WOW 🤩 (that’s all I am chanting)
Akea, you are: 💣💥💯 percent perfection in its highest form.
Now between Kanye, Zaan and then Monifa and even Fiti with Majestic, this was superb and funny. I could have definitely passed on Beneet and Jasiah, with Blizzard, but Link was so weak. He deserved everything including the evilness of Circa, Fendis, Merci, And Nyati. Now Jetti and Dyika, y’all were just too greedy and what happened to y’all was to easy.
Anyways guys I will not continue writing because 1) YOU need to get this book and read it and 2) I am rereading it once again because that type of penmanship and written and storytelling needed to be reread, not leaving any doubt unturn and praised it so high it breaks the roof now. Oh and the intimacy is so hot 🥵 woof, you know that’s what I am going to focus on.

I’m so glad I kept reading

So I totally forgot about Goon’s story and and the connecting ones! I almost bypassed this book but I’m so glad I didn’t.
This book is Dark, but I got into it and enjoyed it. The character Black Rose was so unique. Her storyline was like no other I’ve ever read. I appreciated the creativity that went into writing her.
A creature of old who is a goddess of death in a modern world. She has to hide who and what she is and can never know love because it could kill her. She is more than meets the eyes. She is slowly revealed in the book as she moves through life, her loyalty to her clan, their mission, love, betrayal heartbreak and triumph.
Great read!

Wow!

Natavia remains the Queen of Paranormal romance. This book was absolutely awesome. It was well written, flowed well and definitely kept my attention from beginning to end. I was glad when all of the secrets were revealed and Black Rose found out everything about her past. The love she and Akea had for each other was unmatched. The family reunion at the end was awesome. I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal romances with happy endings.
