Áine and Daelon believe they’ve escaped to freedom, but Lucius has marked Áine as his and promises it’s only a matter of time before he makes his claim. Iciera is a land untouched by the Shadow King’s evil reign, and Áine and Daelon must convince the witches who live there that joining the fight for Aradia’s restoration is the only way it will remain protected. Despite being plagued by nightmares and worry for the allies and friends they left behind, Áine and Daelon find themselves embraced by the Icieran people. While they train for the battles to come, they must also prepare for the lengths that Lucius will go to make Áine his Queen.
As Daelon discovers just how deep his bond with Áine runs, Lucius works tirelessly to convince Áine that it is the connection between the two of them that’s truly the strongest force in the universe.

Good but starting to feel like 'the middle' of everything...all building up to a climactic end...in two more books! My bad, GR. I thought this series was only 4 books long but I see a 7th book released in 2023 so guess I've got 3 more to go!
I am finding them enjoyable and Iciera has introduced new characters. I miss Taryn though, for sure. If she is killed off, I'll be furious!
I wish they wrapped this all up in an epic trilogy though...
This book was much needed after the darkness of the previous book. It gave me as the reader hope for Áine and Daelon’s happily ever after. This book also felt like the calm before the crazy storm that I’m sure will implode in book 5. It does end with a semi cliffhanger so beware. Thankfully I’ve already purchased all 7 books so it’s on to the next one!!
The Story has Really Good Parts but the Dom/Sub Sex Doesn't fit the Most Powerful Witch in the Realm
The Daelon/Aeone (no I cannot spell it with the proper accent - it's book 4, you know who I mean. The heroine, most powerful Witch in the realm, yeah her). sexual relationship gets in the way of the storyline. For some reason, Daelon continues to want to inflict pain and dominance in their love life. How she, the most powerful, the savior of the realm and all that feels she needs to be dominated to the point of pain. Sure I can see that after decades needing something else but it just shows weakness we already know she has - she'd give up the cause to save Daelon. The downfall of all to the False King. It will do nothing but lose her followers. It's starting to get tedious as in maybe 3 was enough but we have to go to 5? The parts of this story that are good are so good it makes you want to flip pages. Toss up so it's a 3 from me.
This book felt a little like the sunrise after a particularly dark and stormy night. Áine and Daelon have reached Iciera and finally have an opportunity to rest and recover. Also, a chance to learn and train. But the storm is not over, and Lucius continues the hunt to bring his Queen to heel. This book immediately pulled me in. Before it even started, I was desperate to know what was coming next for Áine and Daelon: would Iciera be the salvation they were promised? It frustrated me the way Áine tried to overlook some of her problems. However, that character flaw also made her more “human” and relatable to me. I’m quickly falling in love with this new cohort that have rallied to her call and I’m just as desperate to see what the next book brings as I was to start this one. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
At only 22, Áine knows she's different, after her moms died to protect her, giving her a bracelet to "dull out" her gift. At her birthday party, in order to save a friend, Áine is forced to remove her bracelet and unleash her power, attracting all kinds of dangers she was previously shielded from. As she is now free to use her power, a male voice in her head begins to guide her and help her on her path. At the same time, Daelon, a male witch, appears out of nowhere, promising to be there to help her as his life purpose. Áine is led to the kingdom of Aradia, where she realizes a power-hungry political war is ongoing, making Lucius the reigning king (not exactly the rightful one). As the books evolve, it becomes obvious who the voice in Áines head belongs to, who her mothers were, who Daelon is and why everyone either sacrificed or is risking for her. As for Áine, she develops an obvious relationship with Daelon and a not so obvious, totally weird relationship with someone else. The battle for the kingdom continues, and the community of remaining witches sides either with Áine or Lucius in a rebellion.
Seven books are not necessary, the plot would fit in three at most. We get the romance, we get the smut, we get the magic universe plot building... but what we also get is so many filler chapters. Sincerely, the last three chapters of each book sum up the juice of the advancing plot for that book. Other than that, I have to praise the author for not filling the book with explicit smut in every chapter (it does have a bit in each book, but nothing shocking or exaggerated). It gets tiring and dull, and by the last two books, I almost DNF’d, but I was curious about the ending.
I originally got the first book in this series free and immediately bought all the others that were published and read them back-to-back. This is not normal for me, but this series caught my attention immediately and I was so committed to the characters and storyline I had to know more. What a wonderful world the author has created. It is easy to get addicted to these books. This one was not a disappointment; the story continues to be engaging and keep you wondering what is going to happen as more is revealed. This is a must read for fantasy lovers. Aine continues her journey to right the imbalance in the world and save not only the witch universe but the everyone. Dameon is healing his soul and Lucien seems to be even more connected to Aine. What will happen next? Can't wait to find out.
Just finished the 4th book of The Lost Witches of Aradia and OMG what a wild ride! What are you doing to me, Maggie?! Forewarning each book ends on a cliffhanger lol. Hoping I don't have to wait long for the next book.
I have always loved stories about magic and witches and all things fantasy. I have never read a book quite like this one. Of course, there are stories of witches and good versus evil but the way Maggie wrote a certain villain had me questioning my beliefs lol (once you read you will understand). Aine is also an amazing FMC her story definitely hit me in the feels and I hope and pray this ends happily for her and the rest of the covens. Also, Daelon *chefs kiss* those scenes between him and Aine... just wow... I think I need a cold shower after this last book.
Here’s the thing: the premise of these books are really good. The author is just incredibly verbose in some places, but then completely one note in others. She uses several pages to describe the way magic feels or the way the forest looks, but the FMC can only gasp when she’s pleased, or angry, or horny, or feeling any emotion and the FMC only has his eyes darken. The weird sort of dominant relationship that the FMC and MMC have feels forced, like the author wanted to have some sort of dominant submissive impact in her book, but didn’t really know how to write it from a vanilla perspective. There are parts that are awesome, but parts that are so incredibly boring and cringe that I don’t think I’m going to be continuing this series.
OMG!!!! Áine and Daelon think they are getting a reprieve since they “escaped” Lucius. Now they must convince the witches of Iciera to help destroy Lucius and bring balance back to all the realms. Piece of cake, right? WRONG!!! Nothing is ever what it seems with any of these characters. Let’s add the great new characters that are the witches of Iciera, and the reader is totally hooked. Yes, you may want to throw it across the room depending on which male lead you prefer, but you will still love it. Maggie leaves the reader speechless and wanting more.
All righty — just when you think these characters might be on their way to a happily ever after, things get shaken up again! First of all I’d like to say that I’m in love with Áine and Daelon more than ever after reading The Hunted. I’m rooting for them so hard and their struggles in this book gave me all the feels. I also LOVED the new characters we got to meet. I hope there much more of Meredith, Skye and ESPECIALLY Alejandro to come! The mix of physical, metaphysical, spiritual, mental and emotional battles keeps the reader guessing because literally anything can happen. For me, that ending came out of nowhere even though I suspected SOMETHING was coming. I can only wait to see what happens next! I received a free advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
Just when you think Aine might get her happily ever after and balance will be restored in the realm.... bam another roadblock! Each on seems more dangerous then the last one. A real page turner. I lost sleep reading this one. Book 4 of 5, I can hardly wait for book 5 to see how this all plays out in the end.
A sizzling entry into the series. Answers found lead to new questions. But with a moment of peace friends are found, love grows and old and new hurts begin to heal. This is a brief moment before the storm comes. I love this series ❤️.
I am not even sure how to describe how much I LOVE The Hunted. I don’t want to pick favorites, because all of the books are so amazing… but if I had to pick- this one would take the cake (probably). If you have not read books 1-4, please pick up The Discovered immediately! You will not regret it. Maggie’s writing is so unique and engaging. You walk away after having read her books and they are so engulfing that you keep thinking about them. They have VERY powerful messages regarding emotional well-being and balance. Her writing is truly beautiful and always leaves you craving MORE. Warning this review contains SPOILERS. This book continues the beautiful world-building that we have grown accustomed to. You get to see Iciera and it is beautiful and so are all of the members of the coven. You truly see what it means for a coven to be in balance and it shows Áine and Daelon can finally see what they are fighting for. You will fall in love with all of the new characters. We get insight into Áine’s and Daelon’s minds… Lucien is not absent from this book and it is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! (He is my favorite, and I am Team Lucien 100%). The ending will leave you desperate for the October release of book 5. This book is amazing.
