You can run forever or you can turn around and fight. Fighting hordes of the insane imbued with super human strength and broadcasting waves of psychic terror might not seem like a great idea. It might even seem a little suicidal. Trying to go toe to toe with millions of monsters when you've got limited ammunition and a President that kind of hopes you lose. Suicidal or not the sibling trio of Yue, Drew and LeBron are ready to dig in their heels and do some serious damage.
Follow along in book 4 of the crawlerz series as they try to make a meaningful difference. They commit to a goal of carving out enough safe space that people can start leading semi-normal lives again within a generation or two.
Even if it is a bit like trying to drain the ocean with a soup spoon...
Living in a lighthouse as a child led me early to a love of reading. Despite what you may have been told the life of a lighthouse keeper's son is not all Glamour and Parties. There's a lot of time when there really isn't much to do besides wonder if the fog horn has finally made you deaf or watch your dad pull fishing lures out of different parts of people's bodies. (You'd be amazed!)
Two of my favorite houses growing up!
I read. I read a lot. We had a 'reading caterpillar' around the room at my school where every time you read a book you put your name on your color paper and hung it up. The teacher had to give me two colors because it was looking more like a worm than a caterpillar. I devoured CS Lewis before moving on to Tolkien. Reading has continued to be a big part of my life. I've moved into Alternative Realities by guys like Stirling and my guilty pleasure is Zombie novels. I can't seem to get enough of them!
I like reading about the extremes people will go to to survive. The ones who can rise above the rest and keep their sense of right and wrong. When humanity crumbles around them these flawed heroes stand tall and try to make their way. They go from struggling to pay the phone bill to struggling to keep themselves and others alive. I like to see how this either hardens or breaks them. I think these stories speak at a very primal level. I enjoy the journey greatly as I get to tag along seeing how the survivors manage and how the experience forges them into something more than they were.
I look forward to sharing the journey with you all!
This is the 4th book in the Crawlerz series. This one starts dipping deeper into the dark side of engaging an enemy that's been stripped of their humanity. It sees them make the switch from running scared to going on the offensive. Although they still have every right to be scared out of their minds and have zero chance of winning. At least not if you believe in math... Which reminds me of Han Solo yelling at C3PO about telling him the odds :-)
I really like the way it came out and hope you enjoy it as well. Looking forward to your feedback! I truly appreciate you going on this journey with me. Especially when it starts getting a bit twisted. There's a light at the end of tunnel though. Maybe...
It'll be out on kindle on April 19th and is available for preorder now. It's already out on paperback if you're more of a paper and bindings kind of person...
I just didn’t want it to end!!! I seriously took my time on this book because I love all the characters and I didn’t want the ride to stop. What sets this apart from the other series is the creativity of the monsters. It has me up at night thinking what would I do. How would I solve this problem of surviving and killing the ultimate killer. Most books are about the living but seeing from the crawlerz view is geniuses. Not giving nothing away but I’m excited to see where the family evolves. I can’t stress enough a not to be missed series!! Note to author.......pls book 5 ASAP lol I’m a greedy impatient reader/fan.
This is one of my favorite zombie book series yet. It's so different than others I have read! I'm looking forward to more. I highly recommend this series.
This is the first review I’ve written for this series, but thus far, every book is really good. It’s a different but exciting twist on the usual zompoc genre, with nonstop action, interesting characters, and a great overall story.
What a series it's brilliant. The ups and downs the group go through send you on a nail biting roller coaster ride . Mr Merritt pulls no punches and certainly isn't afraid to kill people off . I would definitely recommend this series.
Aside from the weird grammatical errors throughout this AWESOMELY EPIC series, I would love to send the challenge of making a movie to the first film company that thinks they could pull it off. Seriously great work on this series!!
Nothing but praise from me. I’d like to see proper punctuation but in the scheme of things, I’ve been doing it in my head. I just love the story and I’m invested in the characters. Great job!
More more more please I'm am loving this series. Every book builds to a crescendo leaving you begging for more. Please write faster looking forward to the next edition. Thanks
I loved this book. All the new characters are fabulous but our main three are still heavily featured in this one. I'm too tired to give a proper (been reading for ages) review but just know that you'd be a fool to miss out on these books. This one is the best one yet.
This is a fun series to read and I think this book is the best of them all so far. I love the characters that manage to stay alive and was sorry to see the ones who didn't go.
I just finished this latest book in the series and I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens to this trio of siblings and their eclectic group of apocalypse companions. I love zombie fiction and this is a refreshing twist on the apocalypse genre. It really helps that the first novel was set in my home state of Florida. Shout out to the author for mentioning Publix! Only criticism is Jacksonville would have been a better setting than Orlando, but I may be biased. It had me thinking about if this did occur in my city how great living near 2 major Naval bases and being on the river and coast would have been for the protagonists in this series. But that would have made for a very short book! Can't wait for book 5.
A good read. I enjoy following this crew of siblings and misfits through the world they find themselves in. Every book adds new detail to the characters and the overwhelming level of shit they will have to endure to survive during ( and hopefully after ) the apocalypse. Looking forward to the next book.
Not as good as the last book but still pretty entertaining. I love the main characters. I'll definitely buy another book in this series just to see what happens to them.
Yue is tapping into her zombie power to help rid the world of these maneaters that sense uninfected humans. I wonder if Yue's abilities can help the survivors go back to normalcy? What I like about the book is the characters never give up on each other. To have young children having to protect themselves by carrying guns, smart move. What was not smart was having a picnic in a zombie apocalypse! Weathertop fell because people at the top wanted to be loved by the masses while Jeff risked his crew to save Weathertop from the infected....tsk, tsk, tsk...SMDH
4.5 I really like this series and the way the author effortlessly builds the world around the characters while keeping the characters true to themselves. Harvey is my favorite. I listened on audiobook and I really love how the narrator speaks his voice. He kinda reminds me of Flints dad on a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - but with guns, Braun and a soft heart. Overall I really like this series —much like his Zombies! series, all of the characters are likable, the storytelling is easy to follow, and it always leaves you wanting to know what happens next.
This is a rollercoaster of neverending hope as humanity learns from its losses and realizes it's bigger picture when all the comforts have been taken away. Loved this book. R. S Merritt put insights in this book , one could read as a zombie apocalypse road map for survival. Lol!! Truly awesome read. Definitely worth your coin.
Aircraft carrier crashes, and the three siblings go back on the road in their zombie proof trailers they lock themselves into at night. At least the evil president dies so that trope disappears in this book. Audible only up to book four at the time of writing this, but I’m willing to continue the series.

For what it is this is a great story. I really like the fact there’s a lot of unexpected drama and plot twists. The core group continues plugging along and working to salvage society
It doesn't feel like it was written by the same author. There were a lot of typos and the writing is different. Why are Yue and Jeff ALWAYS getting separated, though? Always.
Really enjoying this series. Believable characters, high paced storyline, and a continuity between the books that make them one big tale. Great series.
