What do you get when someone forgets just who it is that you are?
A dare that’s issued just to see what you’re made of.
Delaney Delaney McIntire Jr. had no complaints in life. Her family was wealthy, powerful, ruthless, and untouchable. Having eight brothers, she’d been taught early on how to take care of herself, so she didn’t fear much. Smart, cunning, strong, and beautiful, Delaney made her own rules, and God help anyone who was stupid enough to think otherwise.
Close to graduation, there’s nothing stopping Delaney from the next phase of her life, and she’s looking forward to it. However, things change when she finds herself in the middle of a serious situation that she can’t just overlook. While she isn’t the most noble person around, she still has her own code of honor, and she isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in.
She most definitely isn’t afraid of him.
Kadon Kadon Sharpe had no complaints in life. Born and bred into a life of riches, privileges, and luxuries, he has always had everything that he’s ever needed or wanted. Even though his parents weren’t the best around and his only brother was a jackass, Kadon still wasn’t the worst that Regal Academy had to offer, though he could be considered close enough.
Close to graduation, there’s nothing stopping Kadon from forgetting all about Regal Academy, and there’s really nothing worth remembering about it. Then, one night, all that changes when Kadon finds himself in the middle of a situation that he should have known enough to avoid. With no choice but to see things to the end, he isn’t about to back down now.
There’s no way that he can back down from her.
When an unexpected situation begins to feel more like a dare… After seeing the bigger picture, Delaney realizes there’s more to Kadon Sharpe than she’s ever given him credit for, and it puts everyone on edge. Still, Delaney’s never been one to shy away from what needs to be done; something her family taught her well.
After seeing the bigger picture, Kadon realizes that he’s way in over his head where Delaney McIntire Jr. is concerned, but he isn’t in a hurry to save himself just yet. Though he’s not blind to the obstacles that are sure to stand in his way, he’s also not a coward.
Even though Delaney knows that Kadon is an uphill battle, and Kadon knows that Delaney is his worst idea ever, there’s still something there that’s worth exploring. However, being the first girl in the family to finally feel serious about a guy, those eight brothers of hers aren’t so sure how they feel about it.

There's not much to add to my bio, I'm pretty boring...LOL. My favorite thing is to read and, last year, I decided to trade in some of those reading hours and try my hand at writing. The experience has been one of the best things I could have ever embarked upon. It's turned into a hobby that is fun and thoroughly enjoyable. When I'm not reading or writing, I'm spending time with my family or friends.
Eh this book was a pass for me. It wasn’t bad but I didn’t care about Delaney. Kadon was okay but I literally did not care about this couple getting together. They did not hold my interest, and they weren’t intense enough for my taste. The story was too easy. I really felt that if Delaney hadn’t come from the family she came from or had she not been a virgin then Kadon would have dated her like any other girl. Therefore it would have played out more normally and might have ended in college.
While the author did show Kadon with the ability to commit emotionally and physically I didn’t feel that from Delaney. I felt that she only wanted a non-family related guy of the caliber of man like all the ones she grew up surrounded by. The author even wrote about how it was unfair to compare Kadon to all the men in her family. It wasn’t romantic to me.
I only want a book about Posie at this point. I see Lennon as a lesbian so I could see her being Posies’s significant other, but this author won’t write that kind of story. I don’t want to read about Lennon anyway, as I dislike her character as annoying and way to masculine, so I really want a book about Posie and I want her drama. Something is definitely going on there.
I was looking forward to the love story of the female character in this family’s story. I knew it would reek of crazy over protective alpha-ness, especially when Delaney Jr. is the most sweetness of the three girls.
The over, over protectiveness of the brothers is insane, especially Zane! I’m now really looking forward to his story! But I loved it. I loved that there is this protective circle around her!... It’s so precious! Need the second installment now!!
Its very easy to misunderstand Kadon in the beginning (I was not a happy camper!), when he is listening to the weasel Ashton go on and on about committing a heinous crime!
But considering the introduction to the full family in all the previous books, Kadon has a huge set of guts to even think about being with DJ.
Its not insta love, but it is falling in like at first intense conversation! And then falling in love in a day!... LOL... Kadon, although not crazy alpha likes DJs brothers, is alpha in his very own right and so is Delaney. She is no wilting flower, and a strong heroine, with just the right amount of sass! I love her!... By far the best female character until now!
"She walked like a dare" “She was the poison that you drank before realizing that it was too late.”
PS. With the number of threats given to Kadon and the way they are written, I’m actually worried and scared for him. That’s the power of the words of this author!... One of my favorite authors!
PS again: The conversation with Ramsey jr. is mind blowing. I felt her epiphany while reading it too....
