Office Daddies #1

Daddy's Little Subordinate

Rate this book
Oh, Brad! Why are you always so damn grumpy?
Maybe Brad is a little misunderstood. Sure, he’s clipped, brash, and often irritated, but on the inside, he just wants to take care of things. His Little subordinate Dina never fails to stir the pot with her less than stellar work performance and bratty attitude. Sure, she’s a bright spot in everyone’s day, but she drives her boss Brad wild. Sexy, yet innocent. Bubbly, yet bratty. Mature, yet Little. She’s just the sort of multifaceted woman who needs a Daddy to both care for and correct her.

This is a romance with strong DDlg themes, spanking, and a kink dynamic. 18 plus is advised.

I found the book to be dull and not very intriguing. The book felt and read like a very well written outline but with no true depth to the story or the characters. I have read multiple DDLG books before and I must say that Brad is one of the worst Daddy's I have read about. I think he believes his role is more of a kink and not an actual mental place that Dina goes to, to feel safe and cared for. This story just doesn't hit the DDLG concept like I would have liked to see.

This is a fun story to read. It is a sweet story - lots of "mis-reads" on the characters parts. Most of that was good a couple times I thought "really??" - but it is good overall. This is a great story with a little DD/lg in the office involved. If there had been more of this element, I would have given it a 5-star rating. This is my 2nd Stella Shelton book and won't be my last. Great author - great story.

I usually don’t read a lot of age play romances, and while the story was cute, Both Dina and Brad had a lot of maturing to do. Brad, as a Daddy Dom should know that there is no place for kink in the workplace. Too unrealistic and unprofessional in my opinion. I received an advanced reader copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the first story of hers that I've read that was not also scifi, and to tell you the truth, it's a cute story, but it lacks enough of the DD/lg dynamic for me. I just wish there wer more. Again the overall romance story is good and a nice afternoon read.

Dina is a young girl with certain “needs” that she hides from people. She becomes smitten by her boss, Brad. Slowly it comes out little by little that "daddy" Brad is looking for his “little girl”. The relationship blooms as each realize the potential, and it is very exciting. There is a glitch though with another man in the office, private board room “meetings” and possible loss of her job. Will they survive?

I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is such a sweet story! Sure, there is kink and it's full of steamy erotic moments, but that just adds to the thrill and excitement.
I am voluntarily leaving a review after receiving an ARC.

The couple: Brad and Dina

Romance trope: office romance; DDlg
Series: Office Daddies
Length: 179 pages

Plot: Brad is an uptight, demanding boss, but bratty Dina sees through his demeanor to the Daddy he could be for her. But office romances are never easy and negotiating their lives will require finesse and compromise. The question is, can they do it?

Commentary: Well this was just a case of Brad jumping to a billion conclusions! I'm glad it didn't take long for him to get it together. I'm not really a fan of a bratty Little Girl, but that seemed to be exactly what he wanted, so good for them! I do wish there had been some comeuppance for his ex for filling their daughter's head with all those lies, but I guess he was being mature like a good parent, and he got his daughter in the end, so it ended the way it was supposed to. I do think at some points it was a little unclear as to whether Dina was okay at her job or completely incompetent. It seemed to waffle. I hope the job she got in the end cleared all that up.

Next book in the series: Daddy's Undercover Boss: Office Daddies Book 2

The review for Daddy's Little Subordinate by Stella Shelton is here!
Brad is always a grump. He's brash and always irritated, but yet misunderstood. He just wants to take care of things and get things done properly. His Little Subordinate, Dina, is the opposite. She stirs the pot with her less that stellar work ethic and her bratty attitude. She's sex, yet innocent and bubbly and bratty. She tends to drive Brad mad! But, she may be just what Brad needs to dominate and take care of! This book was great! It was short and sweet with just the right amount of spice and story to keep you hooked! I loved Brad and have added him to my harem of book boyfriends! I can't wait to read more from Stella!

I received a free copy of this book.

This book was a lot. There was so much going on but at the same time almost 0 plot. A lot of the things that the characters said or did were very cringey and one of the main discussions is that the MMC is the FMC boss and nothing ever comes of that. I just don’t see why something was talked about so heavily is there was no reason for it.

Brad is Hard to fall for but give him a chance…

So, I was on chapter two and hating Brad with a vengeance, then I reached chapter five and I was starting to warm up to him… but the end of the book I got him and I loved him. He was perfect for Dina and I ended up loving the story… my point? Give Brad a chance. He might surprise you!

This was not good. Not only is the hero a bad boss, he’s a bad partner and daddy. Throw the whole man away. There’s also big internalised misogyny energy in this with a hint of racism around the office rival who is Hispanic. It’s a no from me.

Dina and Brad

This wasn't a typical DDlg read in my opinion, and that's maybe why I liked it do much. It felt like everything was real, like it happened in a real life relationship. No spoilers from me though, but it's a definite must read.

Dina is young at heart, happy, and bubbly…and secretly loves being corrected by Brad almost as much as he loves reprimanding her. She thinks he wouldn’t know the first thing about being a Daddy, & he’s her direct boss; anything more than a work relationship could get them fired.

Does that stop them? Of course not.

Mildly slow burn, older man/younger woman, HEA.
