"Mommy. Why Do We Keep Trevor Locked In The Basement Sometimes?"
Something happens to Trevor when the weather changes. He isn't himself for those few hours that could lead to several days. Trevor becomes angry and violent. The weather today will be the fiercest winter storm since to hit upper Ohio since 1978, and while people are preparing to wait out the storm with heaters and food, the Wendt’s are preparing to deal with their son's pain and rage...but it will be worse than they could ever imagine.
Bryan W. Dull writes books, which, if you really knew him, makes perfect sense as that’s all he has done since sixth grade; spinning a yarn at a moment’s notice. He is best known for writing horror and suspense stories with his first novel, Solstice, being his first experiment into publishing; it was a bet to do it, by the way. In 2016, he tried his hand at something different and published a personal story, Pill Hill. Now, Bryan W. Dull is becoming known for being a literary voice of hope…with some scares mixed into it occasionally. He lives in Fort Wayne, IN with his wife and daughter, and plans on writing more stories that have something to say in this strange world that we live in.
I read this story on the new Kindle Vella and it was a new platform I had never used before but found I liked it because it was like watching a tv show but in book form. So my review on The Pressure.. I can honestly say this story hooked me from the very beginning and left me wanting more. After each "episode " I was eagerly awaiting the next installment to come out, lucky for you dear followers you do not have to wait like I did because all episodes are out now for you to devore in one sitting if you so choose. The Pressure deals is a horror thriller about a normal suburban family with a son who deals with horrible migraines. Now I am a migraine suffer and can say that alot of the symptoms that this poor boy goes through are extremely accurate. I have an extremely rare "anomaly " which makes my migraines unique and more severe than the average person so alot of the symptoms the character goes through are just a normal episode for me. Because of this I had more sympathy for him and his struggles than most readers might have had. It made me look at this tale from a different angle. Where most people are going to chalk it up to him going crazy and flipping out, I am able to understand and sympathize with the struggle he is dealing with each step of the way. Now dont get it twisted my migraines do not make me want to murder anyone lol but I have had thoughts in the past that stabbing my brain where the " anomaly " is or driving my car into a tree would just be easier. I have never had the plan to do it but when its at its worse it has crossed my mind before. The Pressure in its truest form is a horror thriller but in alot of ways it is so much more than that. I am really interested to see what people take from it when they read it because I think there are more of us out there who suffer in silence than are known.

The Pressure follows a boy named Trevor who suffers from very intense migraines when the weather and barometric pressure changes. Not only does he suffer from these awful migraines, but they also make him want to do terrible things to himself and others. Unluckily for his family- they are about to experience one of the biggest winter storms of their time.
As a frequent migraine sufferer, I was impressed with the accurate depictions of some of the symptoms that come along with this. It was described so well I was almost convinced I was feeling it, and let's be honest- if you've ever had a severe migraine that won't let up, who hasn't thought that hurting yourself may cause a little relief??
The characters were fantastic, although I totally felt a kinship with the mother, who, despite knowing her sons monstrous capabilities, continues to do what she can to try to make it right for him.
This is a thrilling horror novel, but it definitely also falls into the category of familial horror in a way, as the entire family is involved in this gripping and terrifying ordeal. Once Trevor's migraines begin...no one is really safe.
The beginning of this story will hook you immediately with curiosity, the middle will have you just beginning to figure out the consequences of the storm, and from there on out, it's just a suspenseful, cinematic, and slightly gory thrillfest.
It's such a fun book, and I'm so glad for the opportunity to read. Fantastic job, Bryan 👏
