Hurt, Lonely, Sad, Angry, Afraid, Ashamed, Guilty, Joyful
God created each of us to experience an incredible spectrum of emotions. We know what it’s like to experience those emotions fully, frequently, and often in no explicable order. That’s not by accident!
God uses all of our feelings as an invitation to experience Him more fully and intimately.
In this 8-session Bible study, Kenz Durham and Mac Bridges take us on a journey of getting in our feels together. We’re going to dive into eight core feelings—hurt, lonely, sad, anger, fear, shame, guilt, and joy—and see how Scripture highlights the beauty of each one in order for us to understand and embrace our emotions.
This book is really good. This book is all about how to understand your feelings better. For example if you feel Hurt it can lead to healing with god or resentment. Another example if you feel lonely it can lead to intimacy with the lord or apathy. This book I believe is based of another study on feelings called “voice of the heart”!! I would highly recommend that one before in my feels. Voice of the heart goes way more into detail! Understanding our feelings and knowing what to do with them is so important!! Pls read voice of the heart
I really loved this study and would love to see it adapted for other age groups. I didn’t LOVE the corresponding podcasts but the core info of this is something I’ll likely revisit again and again. Helped me understand my feelings and learn to face and process them - knowing there’s always an invitation, usually lined with grace and mercy.
I can’t recommend this book enough because of the way it helped deal with emotions. Emotions are something I so often try and shove down to just not feel what I’m not supposed to feel - this allowed me to work through and see that Jesus has an invitation even in what we feel feels overwhelming. It has been sweet and challenging every single week and I learned so much.
This study was really rewarding for me :) I think it provided insight that I really needed to hear and fresh perspective on all the crazy emotions that I got going on on the daily lol
I really enjoyed this study and it took me longer than 8 weeks but that was because I was doing this long distance with a friend and we found that every time we met, the week’s study was super applicable. I loved delving in scripture and really leaning on Christ in that as we delved into feelings that can feel so heavy and burdensome. Totally recommend!
such a sweet devotional book and i would definitely recommend to any high school + college girls because i found it SO relatable and SO helpful in many ways🤍 i did find that some of the points and takeaways from reading were very similar if not the exact same however don’t let that discourage you from doing this devo!!!(also totally recommend doing it w a group)
Was hoping for something that dug a little deeper. Definitely geared toward a highschool maybe college audience. Anything older than that and the language is a bit immature and I feel the lessons are hard to apply.
Great study if you need to reflect on your feelings and how you handle things in life. It was hard for me to relate because I am in a different season of life right now, but I would recommend this to someone who is sitting in an emotion(s) for long periods of time.
