‘The Zee Files: Girl/Friend’ by Tina Wells launches Zee into the world of being a girlfriend, but she’s not quite sure how she likes it. Archie seems needy at times, and Zee doesn’t know if being with him is right for her. She does know how she feels when she’s around him, though, and in general, it’s a happy feeling and one she likes. Being with him seems right, but she has to figure out if being his girlfriend is the right way to do it.

Zee’s relationship with Archie is just one piece of the story. Zee’s friends don’t really understand her relationship with him, and she stays kind of quiet about it, not wanting to divulge too much since she isn’t sure of her relationship herself. This causes some strife in her friend group, as she isn’t quite sure just how to communicate with Jasper, Jameela, and the other friends she’s made since being on campus at her new boarding school, The Hollows. She doesn’t want to have to choose, but it seems like she might have to, and it’s making her life increasingly difficult.

She tries to get her mind off of things by planning a sleepover at her house with friends from school, but that doesn’t quite turn out the way she planned either, even though her mother goes all out to make it super special. With the Harvest Dance around the corner and the semester drawing to a close, Zee wants to make the right choices and keep all of her friends—including Archie—but figuring out how to make that happen is not coming easily.

This third book about Zee captures her insecurities and more about how she is acclimating to life living at The Hollows with friends new and old, along with typical pressures that teenagers face, from crushes to friendships and more.

This is the third book of the Zee files. My hunch was right, Zee has ADHD like I do! Therapy, journaling and her friends helped to feel more self confident and she even has a bsoyfriend, Archie St . John. But is that good when it feels like smother love? Zee feelss pressured to do something that does not feel right to her. How will she respond?

I did not like the first book in this series, it seemed like little rich girl has everything, but in book two, ADHD becomes apparent and she is learning how to channel and celebrate it. Hope to read the next book in the series. There is a little peek at it at the end of this book.

I received a hard copy from the publishers as a win in a contest in LibraryThing.

I absolutely love this series The Zee Files. This is the 2nd book I've read, and I was so excited to win it from Librarything. I have a Little Free Library so I can't wait to put this in for the children. The best part is Girl/Friend is just a fun read.

This book is about Zee and her first boyfriend Archie Saint John. Although she likes Archie, she finds out that it is very hard to balance time between him and her friends. Zee's friends are very unsure of this relationship. Throw in a very busy school yard, seeing her new therapist, trying to write for the newspaper, and preparing for the school dance Zee finds herself overwhelmed! I love how Zee always comes through and her loyalty to her friends. You're going to love her adventures in this book!

I really liked how this book handled Zee being in a relationship for the first time and learning to set boundaries for herself, even when it was hard. She also sees that all of her friends can be friends (even those in California) and that they aren’t moving on from her. She does a lot learning and growing in this one. If you missed the second book, I don’t feel like you will be lost reading this one.

I give this book 3 stars.

Overall I thought it was good. The illustrations are fun and the story shows that you don’t need to be glued at the hip to your boyfriend 24/7. The main character Zee has ADHD and is doing therapy/journaling while balancing all sorts of things in her life.

Mackenzie “Zee” is back with all her friends. This time she has a boyfriend but can she handle the school work, friends, new home, friends in the Zee Files while having a boyfriend? The best series in Children’s books I have seen in awhile.

This is the second Zee Files book that I have read. It didn't disappoint. I like seeing how Zee is dealing with normal teenage drama and growing into herself. I like how she stand up for herself as well.

I liked this book in The Zee Files a lot more than the second. Zee still struggles with fitting in and anxiety but is slowly becoming more sure of herself. I really like how Wells handles situations that many tweens/teens may find themselves in, such as first relationships and setting boundaries so one doesn't become so possessive, and the changing world of friendships. Again, you don't need to have read the other books in the series to understand what's going on in this one. Can't wait to read what happens next to Zee!
