In this sexy isekai romcom manga, a noblewoman loses her virginity to a mystery man to avoid marrying a prince--but he turns out to be the prince himself!
A scandalous romance in another world! The noblewoman Lidiana, daughter of a duke, is actually the reincarnation of a modern Japanese woman who was tossed into this fantasy world. Although she's engaged to the handsome crown prince, the last thing she wants is to marry into a polygamous royal family. Knowing that only a virgin can marry the prince, she devises a plan to lose her virginity to a mysterious playboy at a masquerade ball. Lidiana lands her masked Lothario, shares an explosive night with him, and goes to confess to the prince so she'll be set free. The only problem is...the prince himself is the masked man, and now he wants her more than ever. This sexy romcom is a whole new kind of adventurous fantasy!
Nothing much happens in this volume. Where is the conflict? I expected more push and pull between Freed and Liddy so to see things go so swimmingly kinda let me down.
I will say the art is as beautiful as usualn The way Liddy swoons over Freed in his uniform is totally relatable (the uniform made the steamy scene extra hot!).
Dropping this because of the male lead. The way he kinda forces himselves on her is not my cup of tea. Especially since the female lead started this whole thing so she does not have to get married to him. I truly don't mind some questionable consent and I've read way darker books than this. However he took it way too far by literally stamping his mark on her, branding her like a broodmare, and basically leaving her no choice. Forcing her in the guilded cage she wanted to avaid. It made me feel all icky after reading. This was not what I was expecting to see. Also was a bit annoyed with the lack of fighting spirit from the Female Lead, did not expect her to turn in a little lamb that suddenly follows what the male lead wants without thinking of a way out. Especially since her grand plan in the first volume...

Nothing happened in this book?? Very much so similar to the first book where there isn’t much development (if any) with the plot. I’m just super confused as to what direction this manga is going to take. We’re introduced to more characters like her childhood friend, Will, but other than that, there wasn’t anything major to discover in this volume. I will say that Libby is so valid for staying true to her military outfit obsession because giiiiiirl. I will agree that Freed looked delicious in his suit, but I need substance, girl! Is there going to be deceit?? Where’s the action?? When can we really get the ball rolling?? Because right now, things are not looking too good.
oh I hate this Prince. I do like the bit with the witch though, she should just ghost him and become the witch's apprentice but sadly that would be a different series.
Volume 1 was better. I really didn’t like book 2 as much. I feel like the mmc took a weird turn and wasn’t as likable in book 2. I’m hoping book 3 fixes it.
While Liddy seems to have come to terms with her engagement if nothing else, it's still rather hilarious to watch her reactions to Prince Freed. Even those around her seem to take her new stance as being unaware of her own feelings for her fiancé, much to the disappointment of at least one individual. Unsure at this point if Will is a convenient side character or may have a larger role further on as it seems he has a rather high position in the court, but he's been distant from Liddy for a while and she's clearly never seen him as more than her "big brother" even if they aren't related. It's hard to read the queen as well, though the king at least seems over the moon with the new developments and meeting Liddy officially. Of course, it seems no interaction is complete with Liddy and Freed without some rather explicit content directions given how their relationship started and why the crown prince was so worried to begin with - the complete opposite of Liddy's worries, though he's done his best to put those to rest rather firmly.

Whew, so this was the volume that decided to introduce a bunch of plot/story. I continue to love Liddy. She's great. Very earnest, kinda naive, but she goes all in. Besties with a witch, love that for her. Freed is still...eh. Freed. He does have strong feelings toward Liddy and that's great for them, but he's also about as nuanced as a bag of rocks. The possessive kink is strong in him. And Liddy apparently has a thing for Freed in uniform. Also, she has magic? I feel like the author found out they were getting a series and thus threw a bunch of ideas at the page to see what sticks.
I'm not usually one for love triangles (as in, I tend to hate them), but given how I'm mehh on Freed, I'm interested to see what happens with Will.
disappointed that this one was so boring...very little plot/character progression, the tension with the childhood friend literally leads to nothing, and the spice that finally comes at the end starts off with the same 'guy doesn't understand consent/the word no' energy as the first volume but with little redemption. the only great part is Liddy swooning over her man in uniform...the crown prince is just becoming nearly insufferable, except for him standing up to his groupies.
I'm not really feeling this series anymore and probably will not continue it. hopefully Steamship begins to release some better josei and spicy titles soon.

I didn't like volume 2 as much as volume 1. I find the pacing to be somewhat off and I kind of have some regrets in purchasing this volume. Half of the volume was the interaction between Lidiana and the witch. Like why? I'm reading a smutty manga and why do I want to have character development between some random stranger that doesn't have a love interest with the female lead?
We are introduced to the childhood friend, but also that storyline is pretty Luke-warm too. Overall, volume 2 was very bland, blah and I'm starting to wondering if the pacing of the manga will continue to be like this.
While I'm not thrilled with some of Freed's actions in the back half of the volume, the included prose short story goes a long way to making them make sense - he doesn't just have baggage, he's got about four extra-heavy suitcases that no airline would touch without a boatload of extra fees. I also very much appreciate that Liddy's not just into the whole relationship; yes, the sex is good, but she's still not sure that this is the right path for her, even if it looks like she doesn't have much (any) choice in the matter.
This was another good edition to the story! I think it’s absolutely building to something! The pieces are being laid for a good plot and some angst and of course so much deliciousness!
Honestly I couldn’t blame Liddy for losing her speech over Freed’s military outfit !! He looked damn fine and I really love how they both reaped the benefits of it !! Also Freed sticking to his promise to not take on another was really solidified and I don’t think he is going to back on that !! So there will be drama elsewhere!!
Patiently waiting for the next volume to add to my shelf !?
Synopsis: A continuation of Ill never be your crown princess volume one. Liddy has royally screwed up. Her attempt at getting out of her engagement backfired when the man that she has a one night stand with turns out to be her fiancée. In volume 2 we follow Liddy as she prepares for her engagement and we meet a new love interest (perhaps maybe even 2 new love interests).
Review: This book is adorable and has the perfect amount of steam mixed in with plot. Liddy is such a lovable character! Definitely not for kids though so read at your own risk!
This was the first manga I've ever read but its really good! It was a lot spicier than I expected, and also did not have as much content. I guess that makes sense because its different than a novel. Still it was very cute to read! I can't wait to read the next one! I'm so sad that I have to wait a while for the next one to come out which is disappointing, considering it was so quick to get through. But still I really enjoyed reading this manga! Definitely a 5 🌟 read!
Dropping this manga. Too many consent problems, coercion, entrapment, “no means yes” issues, quid pro quo, and the heroine seems about as strong as a wet tissue. The hero is bordering on abusive. I don’t find any of this appealing.
And why are all the men employed in high ranking positions and all the women are idle layabouts?
Also, the queen seems tired? Probably because the king is pounding her relentlessly. Like father, like son.
Just no. The first volume sets her up to be a somewhat strong female character and in this one instead of being upset at what happened she simply said ok that’s the way life is and moves on. The plot is also movie very slow which I guess makes but not really worth the read for having a subpar plot and subpar smut.
I quite enjoyed this instalment. We get introduced to a love triangle with her best friend. Well, not a love triangle; more that he’s pining for her but it’s not mutual. The engagement between the main characters is made official and some spice at the end that ends on a cliffhanger. I’m definitely here for the plot though.
I was originally reading the story as a light novel online. But then it disappeared, and I couldn’t finish it… I live in Hope that they will actually publish light novel in English so I can continue to read it. But if Manga is all I can get? I guess I’ll take it. It’s a very amazing story. I really enjoy the characters.
Another easy read, I wasn’t as wowed as I was with the first one but it was still good. Less smut which I’m not totally upset about because it gave what little room was left to character development and plot.
Still not sure how I feel about this story...we're introduced and educated a bit more on the magic systems within this world which is great I look forward to learning even more about that but I'm still unsure of how to feel about this couple 😅
I find that every new development in the story is drawn out longer than necissary. We learn a little bit more about the Crown Prince, but that still doesn't excuse his possessive and rapist behaviors.

4.5/5 stars. I don’t know exactly why but I’m loving Freed and Liddy so much, it’s actually to wait so long for the next one. Things just got interesting and I can’t wait to learn more about this world and the magic!
Nothing really happened in this volume, similar tot he first. Though it's nice to see smut targeted toward the female audience, this is giving me manipulative/abusive vibes and I'm pretty sure the prince is a psycho.
This was a great continuation of this story! I like the inclusion of new characters and how it's developing. I highly recommend this series if you want a fun spicy read with a fantastic main character.
