Miniaturist Geraldine?s nephew arrests a local for murdering her boyfriend. Enlisted to help find the real culprit, Gerry comes upon criminal artists who wish she?d mind her own tiny business.
I was disappointed in this book. The mystery itself is fine. But I read it for the miniature theme. It has very little to do with miniatures. I would say the main themes are Abraham Lincoln and how wonderful grandchildren are. I read the book before this and thought it was a little odd that the Christmas theme was blended with Abe Lincoln and now that I’ve read this one I’m concerned that book number 4 (which I already purchased) will be the same.
I love Gerry Porter! She's such a sweet lady, though probably too indulgent of a grandmother. The town of Lincoln Point is very charming and always filled with interesting characters. I'd never heard of Eichler Homes before I started this series but now I'd love to live in one!
Geraldine, her granddaughter Maddie and nephew Skip are at it again. This time the murder hits a little too close to home for Skip, his girlfriend June pleads with him to help her best friend, the person he just picked up for a murder charge.
Nothing will do except for Gerry and Maddie to get busy trying to prove that someone else did the deed.
As usual there are several miniature tips for decorating your own doll houses for box rooms.

There were plenty of red herrings in this one but I did suspect the actual villain for a while. As usual a fun read and a good mystery
Miniaturist Geraldine Porter's next door neighbor June is dating Gerry's police detective nephew Skip--until Skip arrests June's best friend, Zoe, for murdering her boyfriend Bart. Zoe and June are sure that Bart's ex-wife is responsible, and plead with Gerry to help prove Zoe innocent. The trouble is that Zoe keeps telling Gerry lies. Meanwhile, Gerry's son , daughter-in-law and beloved granddaughter have moved in with Gerry while their new house is being built--which means Gerry must try to keep an inquisitive fifth-grade nose out of a sordid murder.
Another fun read about miniatures and amateur sleuth Gerry Porter. Her son and family have moved back in for a short time while their house is finished and Gerry has her hands full helping friends, solving crimes, and protecting her ten-year-old granddaughter who doesn't seem to need that protection.
I love the characters, the northern California town that loves and thrives on all things Abraham Lincoln.
I love this series but this wasn't my favorite. I didn't like the Zoe character at all. I didn't even really like June in this book. I'm looking forward to the next in the series but I hope it's better then this one.
This is a mystery in which the protagonist is a retired school teacher who has a hobby of building miniatures (doll house rooms and such). It's a fun little mystery--nothing intense, but nice.
