This book started off great but took a strange turn. The wilderness survival aspects were mostly great, if too focused on. However, a couple of major oopsies shattered the realism. A waterproof jacket would not keep a torso dry when fully submerged in a river; there are neck, wrist, and waist holes that would let water surge right in. A broken rib would not be as come-and-go in pain levels and physical ability; trekking through the woods and battling bad guys with a broken rib seem farfetched. The circuitous route (run away, go back, run away, go back, etc.) lost me. Pick a destination already!

The romance was my favorite part of this Alaskan adventure. Each lead pushed the other to be better. Trust was hard at first but grew through need. Overall, this aspect was lovely.

I also enjoyed several of the plot twists. In a more realistic story, these twists would have kept me on tenterhooks.

Oh, and there was no tent in the story (poor cover design!).

Good storyline and always love settings in Alaska. A fast read with interesting situations. Being prepared for potential threats, I did find Hailey's backpack a little too complete for the challenges presented.
However it took me away on an adventure and made me feel like I was there.

As the story begins, the scene is set with great descriptions of the Alaskan frontier. The author writes an original plot with interesting depth of characters. The shared history loss of a family member ribbons through the book complicating the ability to trust each other which makes for a compelling read. Action-packed read that will keep you turning the pages.

Loved this Alaskan adventure. This story has it all . . . beautiful and dangerous setting, talented artist and expert in survival in Alaska, talented federal agent, bad guys, lots of action, heartache, injury, old hurts surfacing . . . I had to slow myself down in reading this story, because I wanted to see how everything was going to work out. I loved that the heroine had her strong talents that that the hero had to trust in and then their ability to utilize the best skills to work together as a team. Thank you, Jill, for sharing this adventure in Alaska.

An attack

An active , full of adventure story as Bagley and Sean try to escape a group of killers chasing them through the Alaska wilderness. I was unable to put it down as I pulled for them. Looking forward to another exciting book by Jill.Elizabeth Nelson as I am sure you will after reading this book.

Great book! I usually don't read too many of these type of books just because they are so short. I'm so glad that I read it. I love books with plenty of action and suspenseful moments. Loved the Alaskan setting for this as well.
