What would you do if you suddenly found a large amount of money?
Mark Reynolds is facing the uncomfortable changes of middle-age when he mistakenly picks up a briefcase containing a very large amount of cash. Unable to trace its owner, and having received no contact, he decides to keep the vast sum, and discretely invest it - a decision which leads him into an unfamiliar world populated by interesting people.
A world that is more familiar to Harry Lavinsky, the owner of the briefcase and its contents. He and his son, James, start the search - and it becomes clear why he was carrying so much money and what its loss will mean for his family.
As the chaos unfolds, both loser and finder are faced with difficult decisions and need to use their wits to overcome unforeseen events.
You’ll have to decide if you would make the same choices.
I really enjoyed this book! Right from the start there were pretty much two story-lines running, and one inevitably expects that the two would merge at some point. Both story lines were compelling and interesting, and occasionally it appears they are getting close, but just as the two are finally on the brink of actually merging completely, so that the two protagonists will finally meet... the book ended! I was so excited to see where this was going to go, so it was a disappointment. Maybe considered a clever or artistic way of ending the book, but personally I really hope the author has a plan to take it further, so we can see what the outcome will be?
Just not my cup of tea... No specific plot or parable. No real substance to the why, just random events having impact on the characters. Sad how little control people have over their lives. Borrowed from Kindle Unlimited, read with the Alexa audio assist application.
