Miranda Bridges began sneaking romance novels as a teenager and did not confess to reading them until she became a legal adult. After years and years as a voracious reader she woke up one day with a story in mind. She decided to write it down in order to silence her imaginary friends, but they’ve grown in number and have gotten louder. When she is not reading, writing, or drinking coffee she is taking care of two princesses who are of a reading age. Needless to say Miranda is still hiding romance books around the house, but now some of them have her name on the cover.

Wow, just wow. This series just keeps getting better. The storyline carries through with each book, so it is better to read them in order. But each book is a standalone. This is the Airblood Daxis’ story, and he is a very complicated and broken character. But even he meets his match in shy little Dawn, who learns to roar loud, to be heard lol. I loved the scene where she fires up her new air powers to get his attention.

"Every Koraxian male believes his mate is the best, but that is because they aren't mated to you. If they were, then they'd known the truth. There is no one equal to you, Dawn."

3.75 stars

Unfortunately, this is my least favorite of the series so far. As much as I love a good grumpy/sunshine, hate-to-love-you trope mashup, I just felt like the storyline was too disjointed to follow easily, and I found myself lost while reading as a lot of things were left unexplained. Like what was the serum Daxis used and why did he need it. And what exactly happened to him while he was being tortured and how did he escape. I did enjoy how strong and stubborn Dawn was once she found her rhythm, and I'm glad she didn't just give in to Daxis. They're sexy scenes were super steamy, but I just wish I had felt the connection between them more.

Tropes: fated mates, shy heroine, OCD hero, hate-to-love-you, grumpy/sunshine, abducted heroine, reluctant hero, soft BDSM, praise kink, slight OM drama (no cheating), forced proximity, band of brothers, found family, STEAMY🔥

Daxis and Dawn

The war is coming since the lady and Princess have been rescued.

Daxis has demons from being held captive and Dawn also has her issues one being she is a Klutz. Together they quiet each others demons. This book didn't show much as power.

I realised that I had read these books before when it opened to the end of the book. But I reread it it was so long ago.
I enjoy Sci Fi because anything goes. There is wit, humour, action, evil, suspense, tension and more as these alpha men set about finding earth woman that may save them.
Earth is dying someone set it on fire. Aliens are looking for the one woman that will awaken their potential but what they find is more than they thought. Along the way they find their mates.
A quick and fun read.

Again disappointed.

The storyline is great but the characters are to similar to those of the house of kaimar series which are great by the way.

Once again this feels a bit rushed. The heroines back story is lacking and her personality is confusing. First she cones of as this sweet innocent girl and then suddenly she's kick ass.

Daxis is described as a tortured junkie (whatever the substance does cause that is not revealed) with a splash of light bdsm tendencies. Who would even consider bdsm while on the influence of something and more important with a pack of ptsd in the backpack?

There is insta love again which I personally find boring but can live with if the story is good enough. The story line thourought the elementals is good but not great in this book. Feels rushed and only a few pieces is given the rest is angst, sex and the main characters brooding.

I used to love Mirandas books but those published lately are in my opinion dissapoiting. She reuses her characters which is fine but when you're able to basically guess the whole plot after one or two chapters it's a waste of time.

Co-written by Miranda Bridges and Kyra Snow, this Elemental Mates series follows elemental aliens and their human female mates. It takes place on Earth during a post-apocalyptic event where a fire wiped out most of humanity and burned the planet, leaving its remaining population starved and desperate. Earth wasn’t just dying; it was also full of people who had gone insane. Everyone resorted to a primitive state and they only cared about survival, doing whatever was necessary to ensure that. That involved murder, rape, theft, and copious amounts of violence. People scavenged for food and took refuge inside compounds against threats from other humans. The Koraxians came to Earth in search of females that were capable of unlocking their elemental potential. Nanobots swept over the Koraxian females, leaving the remaining immortal males unable to access their elemental powers and on the brink of extinction. Their desperation to find compatible alternatives led them to Earth, where they successfully found more than what they were looking for.

Written in first person, Zephyr is book 5 in the series, and follows Commander Daxis of the Airbloods and his human mate Dawn. Dawn was abducted in book 1 by the Torags and sold as a pet to an alien on the planet Kentaris. Thankfully, her “owners” treated her well before she was rescued by Blaze and his crew. Dawn was tasked with serving drinks during a meeting with all the elemental commanders, where she spilled water (being the natural klutz she is) on Daxis. Daxis had been captured by androids and held hostage. As a military strategist, they tortured Daxis for information he refused to supply until he was rescued. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done, to both his body and mind, leaving him with burns, scars, sensitivity to touch and ptsd. Daxis covered every inch of his skin and recoiled from the slightest contact from people until he met his fated mate. Daxis was tasked with rescuing princess Xoriah from her father Xennith’s imprisonment.

As a reminder from previous books, Xennith was behind the killings of the Aetherbloods and other Elders, and he was the one who released the nanobots that killed the Koraxian females, in order to gain ultimate power. He also intended to eliminate the humans in order to prevent his kind from gaining their true potential or procreate because he wanted to be the only one of his kind with powers.

Dawn traveled with Daxis on his mission so he could keep a close eye on her and keep her safe. In exchange for that favor, Daxis agreed to also bring Hazel’s brother Adam along on the mission, to keep him out of Xelias’s way until their baby was born. Which turned bothersome for Daxis when Adam flirted with Dawn. Daxis tasked Dawn to look after an argira that Maxim had bestowed upon him (in exchange for the serum Daxis needed to function properly) who she named Vaporeon after a Pokémon character. After overcoming several obstacles and surviving endless amounts of drama, the couple finally accepted the inevitable and fell in love.

The couple had their first intercourse in chapter 12, at the 59% mark. The buildup was balanced and kept the reader hooked. The raunchy scenes are the only reason I read this genre of books, so I’m glad the authors didn’t hold back. My only complaint with this series is the unexplained Dom/Sub fetish. I get that Daxis was tortured for months on end, but was THAT the reason he needed to inflict pain onto his partner? Not just any partner, his fated mate. And why was Dawn so quick to need the submissive role? Was she abused in her past to the point she devalued herself and her mate treating her like a punching bag was the only language she knew? Honestly, the entire exchange was uncomfortable to read. I mean, kudos if it works for them, but it felt like the authors didn’t have enough experience in the sub/dom world to be writing about it. Just my humble opinion. 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, Daxis’s full potential was unlocked, but there was a side effect (or bonus depending on your perspective); Dawn was transformed into a Koraxian mate, gaining air powers herself, adapting his hair color and birth marks, along with immortality.

There was a LOT going on in this book. So much so, that I am sure I missed some important highlights. After rescuing princess Xoriah of the Aetherbloods, she wound up mated to the human Adam.

So far, this series is good. Plenty of lust-filled raunch and I like how the authors incorporated magic into an alien romance. I recommend the read. I look forward to reading the next books in the series.

This is the 5th book in the Elemental Mates series. Another great addition to this series. Daxis is the commander of the Airblood faction and has suffered some horrific torture in his past. This has rendered him near emotionless and with OCD. While on Blaze’s ship for a command meeting, he meets his mate, Dawn. She is everything he is not; caring, demure, empathetic. He doesn’t feel he is worthy of a mate and so he pushes her away. But she knows what it means that his birthmarks light up when she touches him physically. Now she just has to figure out how to reach him emotionally.

I loved this book. I admit that Daxis took a bit of time getting used to. He’s not a very sympathetic character, until you get more of his backstory. It’s heartbreaking and left him not only with OCD, but also with PTSD and a substance abuse problem. Initially, I thought his mate should be a stronger personality, but the deeper into the story I got, it was clear that Dawn is exactly who he needs. While she is concerned with others needs and comforts, that doesn’t mean she is a shrinking violet. Oh no, she throws some pretty good zingers at Daxis.

A few issues don’t seem neatly tied up . . . Daxis’ PTSD and his chemical dependency. I’m loathe to call substance abuse, but he does need the drug and feels like he cannot function without it. As for the PTSD, I’m sure Dawn probably has an inkling of it however it’s not like he told her, or she was awakened by him during one of his nightmares. She heard him get up and go into the shower. And the chemical dependency - nothing was ever told to her, nor does the book indicate that she knows about this. I’m curious as to the effect their bonding has on this for him. POOF! Magically disappeared? Effects are lessened but he still has some issues? Or it’s all still there, but he now has a mate to help him through this? I wish there was a bit of closure here.

I just love this entire series. Ms. Bridges has done an excellent job, once again, of weaving a story threaded amongst all the books, interspersed with some humor and tender, emotional moments. All of the faction commanders are damaged in some way, but it only makes them more “human.” (They’d all cringe at that description too. Blaze, in particular, would have some ribald comment for me). Character development and world building are full and descriptive.

I highly recommend all the books. Read them in order so you can appreciate the overarching storyline.

Love this series so so much💞💞💖💖

This is currently one of my most favorite series. The heros are dominant, sexy arrogant and funny all at the same time. Once they truly find the female that complete them all hell will rain down if someone so much as looks at them funny. Daxis is even more dominant than some of the previous commanders he's had some series teams that he lives over and over in his dreams. His need for total control and submission is not for everyone and he believes he's unworthy . That is until he meets Dawn. Dawn is a beautiful fairly shy woman who does not enjoy being the center of attention. She fights for others and will be vocal but not for herself. All she has ever wanted was to belong to someone to be loved and accepted for who she is. When she meets Daxis she's so taken by him that her clumsiness takes over and their first meeting is very eventful. Through the rest of the book they deal with one mini disaster after another that pushes them together until their attraction and cheeky explode and collide. It's so good Sane and Daxis are perfect together each giving the other acceptance they desire and the love they both need to heal and move forward.it's an awesome read and I totally recommend not just this book but the whole series. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Germophobic

He's a commander and was a prisoner where he was living in filth and living with pain from an Android.she was a human rescued and trying to fit in. She spilled water on him, touched him while cleaning him and his tattoos light up. Everyone else knew she was for him. All she felt from him is anger and contempt and fighting by that she's his mate. The only friend he has brought him a pet that knows when he's in distress and there to be there for him. He has hé assigned to him and he wants her to take care if his new pet. She's knows how he feels be about her and the rejection be still hurts. So she gets to find away to get to know him. She's accident prone and he decides that he has to keep any eye on her and lol keep he way from her male friend. They both had to over come a hard life, she finally be sticking up for herself and getting into fight with him to wake up to realize that he cares.

Zephyr

Fifth book in the series.  These two main characters are super interesting.  Dominance and submission gets played out very specifically with them.  He has a tortured past (literally, lots of PTSD) and she starts out as submissive but the authors do a great job of showing that she is just as strong as him.  It's very clear that when he is being dominant with her, she is allowing him to do so.  And she is not afraid to stand up to him when the situation calls for it. Consent is clear most of the time - more than once he says to her, "If at any moment you wish to stop, you need only say it and I will". When he starts to push her without her consent, she bites back, and they come to an understanding.  I like how complicated their personalities are and how they both develop.

Bad guys still abound.  In fact, this universe is feeling pretty crowded with them.  I'm looking forward to how it all gets sorted out in the next two books.

I love the series and this book is a great addition!

Dawn is shy, kind and always ready to please and assist. But I loved her feistiness when she stands up to Mr. Gloved and Unloved.

Daxis is one angry, grumpy, possessive, arrogant and dominant Airblood commander. He’s broken, his mind is full of darkness and he’s suffering from PTSD due to horrible captivity in his past.

I really liked the development of their relationship - they are a great match, they center and heal each other and their chemistry is so hot with all the sub/dom tendencies.

There is action, drama, suspense and very steamy romance.

It’s an awesome read and I loved it!

amazing

Although the back and forth of the couple not getting a grip on their relationship gets annoying toward the end, let me tell you the plots in each of these books are AWESOME! How they intertwine altogether but each have something completely different happen to each couple is insane!! A lot of books you read that are from the same author tend to seem duplicated because the author can’t make up new things makes reading a series for me hard. This series is NOTHING like that. The small amount of dark and the steamy scenes and love with the HEA is amazing. The plots captivate u and keeps you reading until you’re downloading the next book. Awesome books! Can’t wait for the next one!

Not to controlling to love

Much is made of Daxis being a germaphobe but what really comes across is that he's dominant and wants/needs a submissive mate. Dawn who seems to put everyone before herself finds her voice and her power by standing up to Daxis' poor treatment of her. She forces him to face his fear and shows him the power of love. Their chemistry is off the charts and like the other books in the series there's plenty of sexy time. The commanders are also 1 step closer to catching the rogue Eldar. There's also a side story featuring Adam the only human male rescued with females. I wouldn't mind a novella about that couple and am looking forward to the final book

Zephyr: An Alien Warrior Romance #5

Oh how I love this series. Each book may be a strand alone but it's so nice when they can be tied together. There doesn't have to be a long notice about them, just enough to keep the reader knowing that there's a tie to the other books that involves helping each character through some tough times. Keep the books coming, I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes these stories.

Why DECEMBER?!

Zephyr: Elemental Mates Book Five
By Miranda Bridges & Kyra Snow
Kindle unlimited purchase
Daxis and Dawn's story is a great addition to the series. Dawn is a bratty submissive that gets under Daxis's skin. This series is not "SSDD". You will fall in love with ALL of the characters and look forward to ready the next book just as much as I do. But why DECEMBER?
I recommend readers over the age of 18

Excellent, but needs editing!

Dawn is a great character, she's submissive to a point, kind , and sweet. Daxis is a broken hero, but with Dawn by his he can heal. There is a bit of a power play between these two, he wants to dominate her but it is consensual. The book has many editing issues, mostly typos.

I think i liked this one the most. The storyline continues to evolve and is intriguing. The action will ramp up im sure. This book hit all the feels Im looking forward to next book. With the addition of the now recovered princess and Adam by her side it is sure to get heated. I wonder how the other males will now view human males. hmmm.

Thrilling

What a thrilling addition to this series. It maybe my favorite so far. The main male character was tortured in body and soul. It takes meeting the human Dawn for him to finally stop reliving the past. But, oh what a battle it was. Action, sexy times, war and death, this book has them all.

No thanks

I have read several of this series but this one was not good. Maybe it’s because I’m not into BDSM or the girl was a pushover and the guy an absolute d*ck. He grossed me out with his gloves on and she was pathetic….the storyline wasn’t bad and fell in line with the series gearing up to a finale.
Overall: hard pass on this one.

Did anyone read this before it was published?

The others had discrepancies but the stories were good. This one seems like it was pushed out too soon. There were too many times where I was thrown out of the story thinking, "Wait, what happened?" Then reading back and not finding the transition. Glad these are free to read. I wouldn't buy them...

The bonds of dominance runs both ways.

Loved this book and its characters. The author's use of elemental powers for the characters was amazing. The conflicts in the romance sequences were also great. I was riveted thru out the whole story. Kudos to the author.😉

Unworthy

Daixis life has beer about nothing but pain and his past is the cause of his current weakness. He is a germaphobe. His condition is so bad that he wears gloves what's to be in close quarters with others in case they touch him.

This book you will either like or don't. These two were not my favorite.

Airblood Daxis is jealous. And while he never thought a shy, retiring human could be a mate, once he saw her friendship with Adam, his feelings took over. Good for her that she knocks him on his arse when her powers come in.

Interesting story

I have really enjoyed these books. Sometimes the story takes an unpredictable turn and it makes it even more interesting. Even though the character's back story can be a difficult one who they become relies on that history.

Dark but good

I enjoyed it. I can’t imagine everyone will like the dark side of this but then again, if you’ve made it through the first four books, maybe you’re as twisted as me. ;)

Wow 🤩

I am wondering is this is the best book of this series now. 🤩 I am with Blaze Shit done got real brothers lol. Dawn was able to get Davis to see that he didn’t have to face the future alone that she was there for him. Great read.
