If you challenge the Carters

Connor Carter and Jake Conlon are having trouble with a rival gang, and it’s clear they’ve underestimated their power. But no son of the infamous Grace Carter is going to let someone else run the streets of Liverpool.

You must be prepared to fight

Then Jake’s right-hand man Danny Alexander is arrested for murder and remanded in custody. The cartel know he’s innocent but the evidence is overwhelmingly against him. The Carters alliance with DI Leigh Moss has always been fragile but it’s time to put aside their differences if they want to find the real killer.

*4.5 stars*

The Carter’s are back! This Liverpool based gangland family are not ones to cross, but for those foolish enough to do so, it will be, (as the title of the book suggests) “Payback Time”!

Heads of the family, Grace and Michael, have headed to Spain in order to set up a new business, so it’s left to Grace’s son Jake and Michael’s son Connor to take over the reins.

When a rival gang decide to try and take over the Carter’s empire by stealing a large shipment of their drugs, all hell breaks loose.

There’s also extreme danger from another source, involving Connor’s wife Jazz (who incidentally takes a more prominent roll in the business this time around) and one which she takes to really well.

Although I missed Grace and Michael, it was, nevertheless, another gripping read from Caz Finlay

* I was invited to read Payback Time by the publisher and have given an honest unbiased review in exchange *

Bad Blood Book 7

Connor Carter and Jake Conlon are having trouble with a rival gang, and it's clear they've underestimated their power. But no son of the infamous Grace Carter is going to let someone else run the streets of Liverpool.

Another fantastic read about the Carters and the Conlon's. I was hooked from the first page. I feel like I've known each character inside out and WoW what characters they are - and the women can be just as bad, if not worse. Danny is in trouble and it's up to Connor and Jake to find out who's behind it all. Grace and Michael are in Spain and Jake, Danny Connor and Jazz are taking care of the business. Bur loyalties are tested and a need to find out who you can trust in your crew is looming.

For me, this is the best book in the series so far, but I did miss Grace and Michael. As always, it's well written, action packed and shocking. The characters have grown a lot since we first met them, and always prove themselves more than capable in finding out the truth. I read this book in one sitting, I could not put it down. This is one of the best gangland crime series that I've read.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #HarperCollinsUK #OneMoreChapter and the author #CazFinlay for my ARC of #PaybackTime in exchange for an honest review.

WOOOOOO!!!!! Dynamo! There's a score to be settled.
I love this series getting back with the Carter family once again.
The Bridewell Blades Delvin and Jerrod King are out to cause more trouble for the men with dodgy drugs in Scotland and nobody messes with the Carters.
It's Payback Time.
Jake Conlon Grace's son is becoming the new head of the empire with the Carter brothers he is afraid of no one. This is so fast pace and gripping, I kept turning every page, revenge is messy, with a few added bonus's in the story and old haunts coming. I loved the whole lot.
Not giving no more away it's not one to be missed, 5stars from me.

Do not cross The Carter's people!

I love all these characters and you feel part of the family with them. Caz has a great style of writing and has become one of my favourite authors.

Grace and Micheal have taken a step to Spain to get their new restaurant up and running, so it's down to the others to run the town, I really enjoyed seeing Jazz take a step up!

Another excellent page turning gripping read these get better and better.

Caz, You smashed it as always!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.

Caz Finlay never disappoints with her books and I thought this was a cracker of a read and a great addition to this series.

In this book someone seems to have an axe to grind with the family and their business - but who, and why now? This was a riveting read which I've read in less than a day. It was one of those reads where I was desperate to know what would happen next and I found myself picking this up and continuing reading whenever I had any free time. As always I either love the characters or loathe them and Jake and Connor try to find out who is muscling in on their business. I loved the many story threads which came together beautifully towards the end leaving a couple of loose ends that I hope will be resolved in the next book.

Overall, this was, as always, a great read from this author. It was well written and thought out and had characters I was rooting for throughout. For a gangland series, this is one of the best in my opinion, and I would recommend this book and the whole series to others, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Here's an author that just gets better and better. All her books have been a 5 star read and her latest book Payback Time by Caz Finlay was another 5 star book. I was gripped from the beginning till the very end and ended up staying up most of the night reading my Kindle. Payback is her seventh book in the brilliant Bad Blood series and The Carters are Back! I love this series. Connor Carter and Jake Conlon are having trouble with a new rival gang, and it's so clear they have underestimated their power. Yes!!! and Grace Carter will not let anyone else run the streets of Liverpool!!! These are the Carter's Streets! This book is full of twists and turns and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.....

Will Jake Conlon who is Grace's son still be the top man of Liverpool?

or

Will the new rival gang take over?

Revenge can and will be messy - and I just had to finish this book to find out what happens next!

I highly recommend this series and 5 star series from book 1 to book 7!

Big Thank you to #NetGalley, #OneMoreChapter, #HarperCollinsUK and the author #CazFinlay for my ARC of #PaybackTime in exchange for an honest review.

Payback town is the 7th book in the series, and it seems to get better and better.
The story continues with Liverpool mobsters the Carter family. Grace and Michael decided to take a back seat in the family business and move to Spain. Their son Jake has now taken over the reins. But there are other people out there that want to take revenge and knock the Carters of the top spot in the gangster world. So, when a shipment from Scotland seems to go missing the family need to know how they found out when it was being delivered and what they must gain? Loyalty is tested.
When one of their own is murdered and another framed for it. The family need to find the real killer before it’s too late.
Thank you, Harper Collins, One more Chapter for a copy Payback Time. This is another unputdownable, action packed thriller that I read in one day. This has a great storyline and characters. I couldn’t get enough of it. Loved it. 5 stars from me.

Yes, my favourite book in the series! Filled with action, as well as twists and turns. The characters are just so crazy and hilarious, yet somehow believable, and surprisingly enough, some of them are even likeable. Two criminal gangs are fighting each other and have been doing it for a while. Then things take a massively ugly, turn. I was surprised by the death in this book, a death that changed a lot of things, and many family secrets were finally told.

I feel like the characters have grown a lot. I would absolutely hate all these people in real life, but somehow I have just grown to like these fictional characters, and it is really enjoyable to read about their lives, maybe because their lives are totally different from mine. Highly recommended series!

What another outstanding story about the Carters and Conlon's.

Grace and Michael decide to take a step back and move to Spain to set up a new restaurant leaving Jake and Connor to take over the reins.

They are being bothered by The Bridewell Blades, a couple of thugs run by Delvin and Jerrod King. They rule their crew with an iron fist and are nasty.

My god what a great continuation, I have loved every book in this series and Caz has really outdone herself with this one. What a corker.

Luckily I was on holiday so finished it in a day and a half as I just couldn't leave it.
I don't know how Caz will top this one but, she is such a fantastic writer drawing her readers in from the first page.

My god, how I love this series!! In Payback Time, Grace and Michael are taking a break, leaving the businesses to the ‘kids’
Unfortunately this means the other gangs in the city haven’t taken a break, and with a little help from someone with revenge on their minds, the Devlin brothers make a move and swoop in on one of their biggest shipments.
There is also bigger trouble coming their way, something big enough to blow their world apart!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, although I have to admit I really missed Grace and Michael, so I’m hoping they return in the next book. I did enjoy Jazz channeling her inner boss lady! All in all, another cracking book from Caz Finlay

Book 7 of the Carter family already! now that grace and Michael have moved to Spain, Jazz has stepped up to run the business. A family dinner is interrupted by Danny and Stacey’s mum, Glenda. Truths come out and Luke’s part in it causes a rift. When Danny’s set up and remanded in prison Jake will not stop to free him.
This was fantastic, like all of these books, strong female leads and powerful men but this was a step up and although Grace and Michael were not featured it shows how far this series has come and evolved for the next generation of Carters!
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

When I first started reading this book I was very unsure about it and did not think is was my kind of thing. By the time I finished it I was interested in reading all the previous books in the series to fully understand the backstories of all the main characters. There is an undercurrent of violence running the story but also there is family loyalty similar to that portrayed about the Mafia in books such as The Godfather although it does not match the writing quality of Mario Puzo. That being said this is a series about a British crime family and very readable for those such as myself who enjoy this genre.
A p candidate perhaps for a T V series.

Payback Time: The brand new novel from Queen of Liverpool gangland crime by Caz Finlay, published by Harper Collins UK / One More Chapter is book seven in the Bad Blood Series.
This is not a stand-alone, the books are best read in order.
Jake is the son of Grace Carter, the uberfamous head of the Liverpool mob. And he has his hands full. Old enemies are out for revenge, new ones want his place.
A complex, fast paced, action packed story that left me speech-and breathless. Excellent written, full of twists and unexpected turns from start til the last page.

With Grace and Michael in Spain, it's now time for the next generation to take the business reigns.
Jake Conlan, Grace Carter's son is now the new head and Conner Carter, Jake's stepbrother is his new business partner but nothing ever changes and others are out for revenge and want to rule the streets.

Payback Time is another brilliant addition to this fabulous series which is fast paced, action packed and a gripping, white knuckle ride.

Absolutely loved it and comes highly recommended.

Many thanks to Netgalley and One More Chapter for a copy for my honest review.

Wow Caz has done it again yet another gripping read. I was so happy that the Carter/Conlon series was continuing. As Grace and Michael decided to take a back seat in the business I thought that might be the end. Happily the series continues with Jake and Connor running the business with the help of Danny, Luke and Jasmine. Someone is trying to take them down and Danny gets put in jail for a heinous crime he never committed. Who’s out to get them and can they get to the bottom of it. Once you pick this book up you won’t be able to put it down.

Payback Time is another corker of a read from Caz Finlay. Book 7 in the Bad Blood series of books sees yet more twists and turns for the Carters and their control of the Liverpool underworld.

Connor and Jake's relationship comes under real pressure but are they strong enough to see this new challenge through? The family comes together as ever in a crisis and the inevitable chaos ensues.

Finlay is a great writer and I can't wait to read her next release, I can't recommend her books highly enough.

Another fantastically brilliant book in one of my favourite series to date. These books in my opinion just keep getting better and I really feel like I know the characters personally. I really love the bad ass women characters in this series that can hold their own just as much as the men. Whenever I pick up one of these books I completely lose myself in it and I literally can not put it down. A very easy five stars if not more!

The Carter's have returned, doing what they do best! I really enjoy this gangster series and the characters within and it just keeps improving. There is a score to settle with the Carters and we find Danny in serious trouble in this fast paced and well written chapter. The characterisation is well developed and the plot keeps you on the edge and sucks you right into the pages. Jazz is just one sassy lady! I highly recommend this if you enjoy gangster series. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Bloody hell. The Carter series just gets better!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I have loved every second of each of these books, even though my crush Michael Carter wasn't in this one (he needs to come back though, if only for a quick nudey shower scene 😂) I honestly didn't even miss the original main characters! Jazz has slipped seamlessly into the role of Grace and a new generation has taken over. This is down to Caz' writing talent
Brilliant, fast paced, story rich and gripping.

What a rollercoaster

I’ve been desperate for this book to be released, and as always I couldn’t put it down.

The only problem is, I read it too quick and didn’t want it to end.

Fantastic, as always. I recommend reading the books in order. That way you get to know the families and watch them as they grow together.

Can’t wait for the next instalment!

Loved it

As always never a full moment with jake, Connor and co. Luke Danny and Stacey had a big falling out over Danny and survey's mother. Later their mother was found murdered with horrific injuries. Danny was later wrongly charged with her murder. Jake and Connor tracked down the real murderers which meant that Danny was released from prison.
