Lola is in an abusive relationship with Troy. Usually, it’s only words but one night he goes to far and beats her up. Her mother is worried about her and explains that one day it might be more than a swollen eye and lip. Troy could kill her, so Lola decides to leave her life in Sheffield and go to London to a women’s refuge. She wants her mother to come with her. But she says she is too old to start a new life. She stays put in Sheffield.
New life in London is so different for Lola. But after a while being at the women’s refuge, she decides that she needs to make her own way and gets a job at a casino where she meets Paul. Paul and his friends Finn and Mark are responsible for the bank heist at London City Airport where millions of pounds were stolen. Lola Likes Paul and starts to get more closer to him.
Local D.I. Abbie Kingsley is in charge of the investigation of the robbery and will do anything to find catch the killers and prove to her male colleagues that she has what it takes to get to the top of her career.
Thank you NetGalley and Head of Zeus for a copy of Rolling the dice. This is another gripping, gritty gangland thriller from Stephanie Harte. I loved it. I highly recommend 5 stars from me.

Finn McCaskill gets a job at London City Airport. He handles pallets worth millions. Finn and his cronies decide to rob the airport. Lola's boyfriend Troy has become very possessive with her. He has started hitting her, but he goes too far one day and Lola goes to a woman's refuge in London. She gets a job working in a casino where she meets Paul Best, one of the airport robbery gang, and quickly finds herself falling for him. DI Abbie Kingsley is in charge of the investigation.

What a gripping read this is. I never saw some of the twists coming. This is a well written read that's also heartbreaking in places. The characters are well developed and some will even get under your skin. I could not put this book down, I was hooked after I had read a few pages. DI Abbie Kingsley wants to quickly catch the perpetrators and prove to her male colleagues that she is just as good, if not better, in her job as they are.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #HeadofZeus and the author #StephanieHarte for my ARC of #RollingTheDice in exchange for an honest review.

Lola Marshall lives with her mum in Sheffield. Boyfriend Troy Jacobs gets very abusive her mum is always telling her to finish with him, the beatings have to stop but she's always thinks he will settle down till it goes to far.
she flees down to London staying in a refuge centre for women suffering from domestic abuse it's going to be a long process but she is safe unlike her mum back home.
finding a good friend in Millie they both get a flat together and jobs in the casino Rolling the Dice her life is doing good not having faith in a man for a long time till Paul Best comes along.

Great book and well written.

This story has two halves that throughout the story come together very cleverly.

Lola who is in an abusive relationship with Troy, and Paul with his friends decide to rob an enormous amount of money from London city airport.
An explosive tale of abuse, fear, thrills, and crime.

I feared for Abbi's life when she was with Troy, will he kill her from all the abuse he's put her through?
Will Paul and his friends work out how to succeed in the robbery?
Would they go through with it? We follow the tension and thrills throughout this book until the gripping end.
Very cleverly written.

Another Enjoyable read.
Going through my TBR list and trying to read as much as I can. Quite pleased that I chose this book as my next read as I really did enjoy it.

Lola is in a disastrous, violent relationship. She needs to get out of it. Can she make a fresh start and get away. Who can she trust.
When no one is as they seem life can get complicated. We are about to hit choppy water to get through this.
This book has it all, Murder, deception, violence, fraud, greed.

It was a very easy to follow read and didn't become over complicated at all. It was nice to have an interesting yet easy flowing read.
