A swoon-worthy, small town romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!
✔️ We’re roommates. ✔️ We work together. ✔️ She’s my friend’s little sister. ✔️ She’s soooo off limits. ✔️ I want her anyway.
I made a deal with Harley Jackson. We’d burn that fire between us to ashes with a few nights between the sheets. Friends with benefits, but with a time limit. It turned out to be colossally stupid.
A few nights together only made the fire burn hotter. I was never supposed to fall for her.
Grant & Harley’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, daring pilots, sassy heroines, roommates who can’t get enough of each other, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, oozing with swoon, and one smokin’ hot protective hero.
USA Today Bestselling Author J. H. Croix lives in a small town in the historical farmlands of Maine with her husband and two spoiled dogs. Her love for quirky small-towns and the characters that inhabit them shines through in her writing. Take a walk on the wild side of romance with her bestselling novels!
I enjoyed Harley and Grant’s story. Well, as much as I did. But I couldn't for the life of me find the chemistry or connection between them. I thought I did at first but I think it sizzled out. Or maybe it's because of Harley's personality. I couldn't relate to her. I find her to be so stubborn and selfish, she would get defensive toward people who really cared for her. And I don't think that's reasonable at all. I think the side characters are more entertaining than her. Even Grant's character is fade into the background because of her. Though he is a really good character though.
It’s been a hot minute since I last read J.H. Croix so I was excited to start this book. I’ll start this by saying Harley really got on my nerves a few times. Having said that, it's due to the fact that I have a condition where people always worry about me, so I could relate to all her annoyance when everyone kept asking how she was. I could relate to her on so many levels. I loved her sharp mind, knowing what she wanted and going for it. Well going for it except when Grant is concerned. But then one night she decides to see what would happen and she kisses him and nothing is ever the same.
Grant has had a crush on his BF’s little sister for quite a while now. But he’s not going to cross the line. But then she kisses him and the world tills on its axis. Soon they are sharing a bed and everything in between. But both are stubborn and use to taking care only of themselves. But love has a way of showing you how to let your guard down with the right person. These two were, despite being equally stubborn, perfect for each other.

This book ticked off may troupes, friends sister, roommates to lovers, co-workers but this all added to the story. They are a pretty tight nit group at Walker Adventures, a family of thier own making and adding one more relationship to the mix is pretty smooth and easy.
Over time Grant and Harley has each hidden the burning attraction to one another in an attempt to keep things simple. Neither is looking for a relationship and more so it seemed like the safer move for everyone. When Harley can't hold back any longer and kisses Grant, everything changes and the chemistry between them burns bright. But they are not ready to share with everyone else just yet, making things interesting at the staff house as they are not the only ones living there.
Could Harley's health issues bring a stop to what could be growing as more than a fling? Can Grant deal with his guilt from loosing his mom while he was away at school? Could they have found the happiness that everyone else seems to have found in this small Alaska town?
In all an easy cozy read with some emotions stirring around the happy couple. A great addition to the series.

The newest books in the Dare With Me series brings Grant and Harley together. Rooming together at the Staff cabin, along with Grant’s younger sister, these two have been friendly for awhile. They both are also resisting an attraction between them because he is friends with her older brother, which makes her off limits! Well, limits are made to be exceeded and when Grant and Harley cross the line prepare for some serious heat! One kiss and neither one can keep their hands, or mouths, to themselves anymore. A story full of passion, humor and a connection that readers will feel jumping out at them, get yourself a few hours of peace and quiet because you will need it!
After We Fall is a classic best friend's little sister trope but hey, it's a classic for a reason! This is the sixth book in the Dare With Me series but can be read as a standalone.
Grant and Harley are part of a large family/friend group that runs Walker Adventures and are currently housemates. Over the years, chemistry has developed between the pair but they're key participants in the deny, deny, deny club. Grant isn't the playboy everyone believes he is but he's not ready to settle down and definitely not ready to cross the line with his best friend's little sister. Unfortunately there's no denying the attraction to the little spitfire. Tensions explode when Harley kisses him out of the blue. After that its off to the races! Despite their misgugings, neither of them seem capable of walking away!
I loved Grant. He's as steady as the tide and easy to love. Harley was a much tougher sell for me. She frustrated me to no end with her continual denial of any feelings for my guy and her condition. I get that she doesn't want people to worry about her but the constant lying grated on me in a big way. I know it's a double-edged sword but her family and friends love her enough to worry and that's a gift. In the end, I loved the growth of the relationship and Grant and Harley together. Also After We Fall was another opportunity for me to fall heads over heels for this family/friend group. I adore how close-knit they are and love seeing their happiness!
It was great to see the gang at Diamond Creek once again and to learn that Daphne and Flynn are now married! I wish Daphne had a cookbook because some of her recipes sound delicious! I have always loved this series and how community is very tight knit and how everyone at Walker Adventures are one huge family.
This is story about Flynn's younger brother Grant and Diego's baby sister Harley who are two grounded people who have very different views on relationships. Where Flynn is laid back and his relations are of the "buddy" type things are smooth for him. Except when one looks deeper behind is lifestyle they realize that Grant's live hasn't been easy and he has an understandable reason why he like things on the lighter more laidback side of life.
Harley is the youngest of 5 siblings and a staunch independent woman who doesn't need anyone's help. As the baby of the family she has had to forge her path to be recognized and her in her family dynamic and it turns out to be a double edged sword. Although she portrays herself as someone who can do anything her older siblings can do when she experienced, firsthand, what a relationship should, her parents, and should not, her sister, be. Unfortunately, it was the latter that had the most impact on her and feels it has scared her against relationship.
In all of what they have experienced in life the spark that lights up whenever they are near each other just cannot and will not be denied. This young couple has a plethora of sage brothers and sisters who are prime examples of what true love is and just how rare it is to find that one special person who is made just for you... and no matter how perfect they are they still work on their relationships as they grow in love.
As I stated above, I truly enjoyed seeing the gang again and brought up to date with Flynn and Daphne's finally getting married. It's like visiting old friends and catching up. Great Job!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have to say "I knew it!" When I read the blurb that this book is Grant and Harley's story. I felt their chemistry while I read the previous books in the series and it made me wonder how J.H. Croix would create their love life. Let's just say she doesn't disappoint me and I enjoy reading this book so much.
Now even if this book can be read as a standalone, I suggest you read previous books in the series before starting this one because, for me, I would feel like I'm missing something if I don't know their backgrounds and histories. But since I read ALL books when I starts this one, I feel like it's about time!
Grant and Harley have been housemates for a while now. And even if I felt their chemistry, I didn't know their feeling towards each other until I read this book. Turn out, they have been crushed on each other since they met but they haven't acted on it because Harley thinks she isn't Grant's type and for Grant, Harley is forbidden fruit because she is also his friend's sister.
In this book, Harley has her health problem and Grant is the one who witnesses it. With a history with his mother, Grant wants to help but Harley is so independent to accept it. As a tension brews between them, they finally give into their attractions and fall into their fling arrangements. I have to say their love affair is hot as hell. The story has a perfect amount of everything I like combined... forbidden, angst, sweet, sexy, heartstrings, small town, and big family and friends who are all close-knit. Their love isn't easy because Harley is so stubborn for her own good but Grant isn't give up easily either. They may have their own issues but they are prefecr for each other.
Now almost everyone has been paired up except Cat and I want to read her story. Just hope J.H. Croix would release it soon.
Roommates just looking out for each other or is it more then that?
Another enjoyable story. The characters are well written.
Grant is the younger brother of Flynn who owns an Walker Adventures, resort and sight-seeing Alaskan getaway. Grant is one of the pilots and loves his job and family. His youngest sister lives with him and one other in the staff house as they are the only ones nit in relationships at this time.
Harley is the young sister of one of the other pulots at Walker Adventures. Since her work can be done anywhere she decided to move to Alaska after visiting her brother. She lives in the staff house with Grant and has now known him for about a year. She has always tried to be independent and has no interest in a relationship because men have always proven to be untrustworthy. She also has a health issue that she has been hiding from everyone.
Things start off with a mishap with a moose and Harley having to chase it off and then fix up Grant because he got injured. Of course she has had the hots for him for most of the past year and finally decides to act on it. She is just surprised that he responds back.
Grant of course has thought of Harley as being off limits because of her brother being best friends with his brother. But after one kiss he can't stop himself. His only issue is he finds Harley right after she fainted and has a hard time with her not telling him about her health issues.
This a an enjoyable read to discover why Grant worries about Harley's health and how they finally figure things out for themselves.

This is book six in The Dare With Me series and it is Grant and Harley's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Grant is a laid back kind of man and doesn't do relationships or commitments but When he is in the same room as Harley sparks fly but as they are housemates at Walker Adventures Grant will not cross the line with Harley as it could mess everything up but everything changed when she missed him and now things have become even more complicated. Grant and Harley have a connection and chemistry between them that is so strong and intense that it sizzles off the pages but they both have baggage and walls that are so high built around them that it will take someone special to break them down and show that it is okay to be vulnerable, lean on someone and relationships can work it you are with the right person and understand each other. Even though Grant and Harley had many ups and downs along the way they were absolutely perfect for each other and I loved watching there relationship grow and how they worked things out to get the happy ending that they both deserved. It was great to meet up with the others and how close knit and supportive they are to each other. J U Croix is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention while reading her book's and I definitely recommend you read this book and other's by her and you will not be disappointed.
Grant and Harley have known each other for years, and there has always been a simmering attraction between them. But they work together, live together in the employee house of Walker Adventures, and she's his best friend's little sister. It could be a recipe for disaster, so they agree to a limited fling as friends with benefits, hoping to get the other out of their system. Well, it doesn't work!
But Harley is hiding a health issue from everyone she knows, and her secret has the potential to put an end to her relationship with Grant before it really gets started. Grant has incredible guilt over not being around when his mom died (he was away at college), which just gives Harley more of a reason to keep her issues to herself. But when Grant finds her after she faints, it more or less forces her hand. Can he forgive her for keeping the truth from him? Will his guilt about his mom's death cause him to run away from Harley?
This story hit the right notes in mixing sweet, swoony, and sexy. After We Fall is one book in the Dare With Me series, but it can be read as a standalone. I've read a few of these -- not the whole series -- and the characters crossover since the Walker Adventures crew is a close-knit bunch. So it's nice to see appearances from the other couples.
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Book six in the Dare with Me series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. We finally get Harley and Grant’s story. Readers first meet Harley when she comes to visit her brother in Alaska and ends up staying. She has been roommates to her brother’s friend for a long while and though they have a mutual attraction, neither has given in. Until now. I have always loved Grant. As Flynn’s younger brother, he has been a little bit of a playboy. I always knew he had a marshmallow heart, and this book proves it. He has a little baggage from his parents’ relationship and from losing them both at such a young age. I really like how straightforward he is. There are events in the book that he handles very much like a typical Alaskan man, and I say this from firsthand experience. I really enjoyed his character and how hard he falls for Harley. Harley is very independent and overly stubborn. There are times that she kind of got on my nerves. I was just thinking, “Get over yourself already.” Ultimately, she figures out that it is okay to be vulnerable and take comfort from someone else. It was nice to see her get to that point. There is a plenty of heat as they embark on a fling that quickly becomes much more than either of them bargains for. The relationship dynamics of the gang in the small town are fun, as always. This was an enjoyable read and I am happy to see Grant get his HEA. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.
In this sixth book of the Dare With Me series, we focus on Harlley and Grant, who are both family and friends of the Walker Adventures group. Harley is sister to Diego and Grant is the brother of Cat and Flynn.
Harley was a smidge annoying to me right from the start. She's got a chip on her shoulder about love (from her previous boyfriend cheating on her) and isn't big on people asking how she's doing. Really, it seemed like anything you said to this chick set her off. Grant was her opposite, which is why they have a fighting chance. Sure he may have slept around in the past, but he's thirty now, looking to settle down, if even a little.
As the blurb says, there are a number of hurdles these two have to cross to be together and really, that list is nothing comapred to Harley's mind set. While this was a bit of an insta-love, they did have to pump the brakes and figure stuff out for themselves more than once.
The book is well written and I love the fact that we are keeping in touch with the previous couples from the series. Even though I didn't read a few of their stories, J.H. Croix writes so you don't miss a beat. We get a little background tid bit on each character and then move along with our main characters.
What happens when you live with your friend's little sister, for a year, and have feelings you are trying to keep at bay? You struggle and that is precisely what Grant has been doing. This is Grant and Harley's story and it is so good.
Harley is Diego's little sister and is determined to be on her own. she doesn't have an excellent experience with relationships as her last one ended in a disaster and before that she pretty much had no interest. When she has feelings for Grant she tries really hard to suppress them but the heart or lady parts want what they want.
Grant who is Flynn's brother isn't into relationships as he had bad examples as a child but he is drawn to Harley. He knows he shouldn't because her brother will not be happy with him but those feelings just won't go away. When he thinks they can burn them out he is mistaken and the more they are together the more he wants. He just has to get Harley to open up to him and let him into her heart.
This is a great story with emotion and past hurts that have to be healed. Great characters and past characters that we all love. I loved it and highly recommend it.
AFTER WE FALL is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are sexy scenes and colorful language if that is an issue for you. It is back to Alaska and Walker's Adventures for this story. Grant is a pilot for Walker. He lives in the house for employees. Other roommates are Cat, his younger sister that is working in the kitchen with the chef. And Harley, Diego's sister. Harley came to visit,, fell in love with Alaska and stayed. She has a web design business as well as transcribing medical records for doctors.
Grant and Harley have been circling each other for over a year. The chemistry is off the wall. Being Diego's sister makes her off limits for Grant - until she isn't. This affair starts off with a lot of secrets that everyone seems to be in on. The biggest is a medical issue that is troubling for everyone. This is a very sexy story with a lot of passion and emotions. It is a very entertaining read and I definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 8/16/2022
Oh, my! So many feels for this book. To get the best experience, one should read the other books in the series due to the interactions of the characters. This book is about Grant and Harley. Grant is one of the owners and pilots for Walker Adventures where Harley's brother is also a pilot. Harley moved to Alaska to see her brother and fell in love with the area and stayed. She is a graphic/web designer so she can work anywhere. One night Harley helps Grant get away from a bull moose and after she helps fix him up, they share and kiss and that's where their relationship begins. It is not smooth sailing as Harley is extremely independent plus she is harboring a secret. The sparks that fly between these two may set your eReader on fire and you might want to have a fan and some ice handy for yourself. (wink) Harley will have to learn that it is ok sometimes to let people care for you and Grant will have to learn that it is ok to care deeply for someone. I just know that you will enjoy reading this book and seeing if they can make a relationship work. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
There are three main reasons I love this series. The beautiful Alaska backdrop is more than romantic. There are always friends and family around who are in previous stories, so it is like a refresher of the relationship. The love stories are always slow burning and deep exploration of the meaning of true love. This story is about Grant and Harley. Grant was born and raised in Alaska, working with his siblings for their family business, and flying around in their business planes. Harley is the youngest sister of one of Grant’s brother’s best friends who fly for their business. Grant and Harley have been eyeing each other for a while. But they live in the same staff house and their relationship can get complicated. When they finally take the step across the line, they can’t stop being with each other. Their obstacles are in their mind. Sensitive and tender feelings are easily hurt by stubbornness. Until they realize these obstacles are not so important comparing to their love for each other. What is there to be stubborn about when one can be mulled by bears and moose or die from ignoring heart issues.
Grant & Harley have had a secret thing for each other for a while now, but due to him being her brother's best friend & neither are big on relationships, they've never done anything about it. They end up being roommates which starts them down a new path. The sparks are flying that's for sure, and when Harley plants one on him, well, it's game over so now there's a push & pull that had me ready to pull my hair out despite the hot sexy times. Grant is the first to admit to himself that he wants more, but Harley is a bit more difficult. She's also frustrating because she has a family who loves her & wants the best for her especially with her condition but she doesn't act very grateful with her actions. I mean, I could understand not wanting to be stifled, but having a family who cares so much is not something everyone has as I'm one of those people so I wanted to shake her more than once with her questionable decisions in this situation. I did have a very difficult time putting the book down when real life acted up so at the end of the day despite my frustrations with Harley (just my opinion), I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Grant, the brother to Walker and part of the team of pilots in Alaska, has had a “thing” for one of his roommates, Harley, who happens to be the youngest sister to Diego. Living in close proximity and trying to keep his lust in check, it takes a turn when Harley decides to make the first move…and from that moment on all bets are off….now they just have to keep their “relationship” a secret from everyone, especially her brother but what happens when lust becomes more and Harley’s independent stubbornness comes between them. A good read with steam and great characters all around. I liked these two, Grant who has matured into a man right before our eyes throughout all the reads previous to these, finally finds his match, a woman who challenges him and doesn’t back down. Harley, who is the youngest of five siblings, is stubborn and independent almost to a fault, trying to prove to everyone that she doesn’t need any help. I enjoyed these two and how they navigate their secret and once everyone knows their relationship. A bit of drama but not over the top and the bonus epilogue was great….4.5 stars *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Grant and Harley live together along with Grant's younger sister, Cat, in the employees lodge at Walker Adventures. Grant is a pilot for his family's resort. Harley is Diego's younger sister. Harley is a web designer who also transcribes medical records for doctors. Harley and Grant are attracted to each other and agree to a friends with benefits relationship that must be kept secret. Harley and Grant believe they can burn off the sexual chemistry between them with a few nights together. Both have their issues. Grant feels guilty he was away at college when his mother passed away. Harley is hiding a heart condition from her family and friends. What happens when real feelings come into play between Harley and Grant? Can Grant and Harley overcome their issues to find their happily ever after? I loved After We Fall by J.H. Croix. Grant and Harley have scorching hot chemistry. After We Fall has angst, sizzling hot chemistry, secrets, and amazing characters. I would highly recommend getting After We Fall and any of the other books in the Dare With Me Series by J.H. Croix. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Best Friend's little sister trope. Harley is Diego's little sister and is housemates with Grant. Grant and Diego work together as pilots in Alaska at Walker Adventures with Grant's brother. Grant and Harley have been trying to ignore their attraction to each other. But it comes to a head when she saves him from a moose attack and patches him up. They still try to ignore each other but can't. They start having a relationship but keep it a secret because of Diego. Harley has a problem with confusing people caring and wanting to help her with losing her independence. She has a heart condition which she tries to ignore and doesn't want people to know about. Grant has a trust issue since he mistakenly blames himself for his mother's death from a heart condition when he wasn't there. Will they be able to get over their mistrusts and misunderstandings before it's too late? I really like this series set in Alaska and love the descriptions of the Alaska landscape. I received and early copy to read and review from Booksprout. I'm leaving my honest review.
I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.
I am so happy I got the chance to read the next installment in this series. I love novel this past of the world in Alaska with their wild moose and bears, even though you will never catch me near any of those animals.
Grant and Hadley's story was great. I think they are both really stubborn and such in their own ways, so they took a bit longer to about their true behind not only to each other, but also to themselves as well.
This also started as a typical best friend's sibling romance where they were hiding their new intimate relationship. Though I do have to give Grant props toward the middle of the book - he impressed me when he had his talk with Diego.
I get Hadley's irritation with her health and everyone focusing on it, but at the same time I'm glad she had people who cared about her to be concerned. She just needed someone to explain that to her.
I'm glad I got the chance to read this book and, as always, I'm looking forward to the next story!
After We Fall is the sixth book in the Dare with Me series. Just when I think I’ve read the best book in the series, the author blows me away with the next one. Her books have become an automatic add to my TBR list and I jump into reading them as soon as they are released. I love the warmth of her small-town romances and how the characters are so genuine. I was so excited to see Harley and Grant’s story. It captures everything I love: co-workers, friends’ little sister, small-town, and friends with benefits. I loved Harley’s sassiness and straight talk. She might seem reserved, but she isn’t shy with all her sass. Grant was a laid-back, easy-going kind of guy, but we got to see his protective side come out in his relationship with Harley. I LOVE this series and cannot wait for the next book Croix has in store for us. It’s so painful waiting but so worth it once the next book comes out! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
After We Fall is another fabulous book in the Alaskan series Dare With Me by J.H.Croix. If you’ve read the previous books you’ll feel like you’re back with family when you read this. Grant and Harley each have siblings who live and work with them. Hiding their feelings from them as well as each other becomes more challenging the deeper they fall. There’s excitement, medical issues, lots of stubbornness as well as steam and romance in this book. I always tend to think that each subsequent book in the series is the best…until the next one comes along! This book certainly lives up to that. I highly recommend starting with book one and working your way through these Alaskan tales, but it’s not necessary in order to enjoy After We Fall. You’re in for some fun adventures and lovely couples along the way!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a great story about a young person with a heart condition who is basically in denial of the condition and not letting those who care about her know she has this condition. This is also about a friend's younger sister who also happens to be one of his roommates. Grant and Harley have been avoiding their lust for each other for over a year since Harley moved there. Once night Grant finally gives in and kisses her and from their everything between them explodes. Will they ever finally admit to loving each other before something happens? Will Harley finally accept that she has a heart condition and concede to taking medication for the rest of her life and maybe have to make other adjustments in her life?
When I first read about Harley's condition, I totally identified with her because although I am older than what she is, I am going through the testing for all the symptoms for her heart disease.
Best friend's sister + roommate + close proximity + friends = inevitable pairing. Harley and Grant thought they were being stealth, especially with Grant's youngest sister Cat living with them in the staff house. *snicker* Harley was independent, almost a little too much, and feisty. She was hiding a heart condition from everyone and a little bit in denial with herself. It was no secret that the Walkers' mother died of an unknown heart condition. So, Harley not confiding in Grant or even telling her friends what was wrong so they knew what signs to look out for was a selfish on Harley's part, but at the same time I get it. Keeping a heart condition of any kind hidden because you don't want to be coddled was dangerous, not only for Harley but also for the people around her. Even though Grant and Harley went into their relationship with no strings, they both knew from the very beginning that it was more than that. I'm glad that they both got their acts together, but not before almost losing each other. It was great to catch up with the rest of the Diamond Creek crew and bask in the warmth of family that they have created.
I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.
Off-limits romance, a friends younger sister, roommate, secrets, hidden medical condition, close family and friends.
About a year ago Harley Jackson decided to move to Alaska after visiting her brother Diego who is a pilot at Walker Adventures. As a freelance graphic designer, Harley can work anywhere so she easily moves into the Walker Adventures family cabin with her brother and new friends. But the number of roommates is dropping considerably as each roommate finds love and moves out.
One roommate still occupying the cabin is Grant Walker who is a pilot at his family’s resort. For the past year Harley and Grant have been hiding their strong attraction for each other but everything changes one night when Grant has an unexpected encounter with a moose.
Feelings, secrets, and a hidden medical condition all could ruin something amazing for Harley and Grant. Another amazing read in small town Alaska. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
4.5 Stars!! There is Harley, who moved to Alaska to try something new with her life. She has been there a little over a year building her graphic design and website development company. She also does work for Walker Adventures where her brother works and she lives in the staff housing with two roommates, Cat & Grant. She has secretly had a crush on Grant since the first time she met him. He also has a secret crush on her though she is off limits as she is her friend's sister. One night, it reaches a boiling point, and they decide to be friends with benefits though not tell anyone, not even their other roommate, Cat. Will they be able to keep it secret? Will past experiences be their downfall? It will take work to get to their HEA. This is an enjoyable read with good characters and a good storyline. Enjoy!

I love the Dare With Me series and After We Fall is a great addition. JH brings these characters to life pulls so many feelings from the reader.
This is a fabulous small town, friends-to-lovers, brothers best friend and roommate story….this hits on so many of my favorite tropes.
Harley is a sassy, independent, stubborn and fantastic character. She doesn’t want others to worry or fuss over her (due to a medical condition ) but her stubbornness could get her into trouble.
Grant is an easy going, swoony pilot that is having a hard time keeping his feelings hidden from his best friends sister. He is a stand up guy and is willing to put others before himself.
Grant and Harley will light up your Kindle with swoon, angst and passion. Their banter, fussing and good times will have you flipping the pages so fast!
I love that the characters from the others books make cameo appearances and we can see an update on their lives.
A good romantic story. “This chemistry between us wasn't going anywhere. The hum of attraction between us snapped and crackled every time we were near each other. I kept telling myself I wasn't going to catch feelings for him.”
Harley went to visit her brother and ended up staying. Her brother works as a pilot and fly’s for Walker Adventures. She moved into the staff quarters at the resort with Grant and his sister Cat. “Grant was hot and kind of cute. He was also a really nice guy. I didn't fall for nice guys. Relationships weren’t my thing.”
Grant and his brother own Walker Adventures. They both fly, along with Flynn's friends from the Air Force, who are all like family. When Diego moved out of the staff quarters, his sister moved in. “Harley was a handful, and I wanted to kiss her. I'd wanted to kiss her for too damn long. But she was off-limits. I knew the rules. You were not supposed to fall for anybody’s sister.”
Harley and Grant’s story was emotional, heartwarming and sweet. Grant is definitely swoon worthy and had me falling for him.
But it took me a bit to get into the story as Harley grated on my nerves with her attitude of needing to do everything on her own, never asking for help when she definitely should. I could feel her frustration with everyone worrying over her, but I think she just needed to let her guard down and allow others to help her.
The connection between Harley and Grant was undeniable and their sexual chemistry was intense and explosive. These two were made for one another but it was going to take some time for them to both come to terms with letting this relationship bloom and let others know about it. It was frustrating at times that both of them kept hiding what was obvious to others. They just needed to own up to the attraction they have for each other and hope that things don’t fizzle out.
