As if my mind wasn't blown enough that witches are real, but now you're telling me that fairies are too? Seriously, I don't know how much more I can take, and it doesn't help that I'm now supposed to work with one. One who, BTW, I'm pretty sure is bat shit crazy.
Nat's life has been turned upside down after Maggie, who she thought was her friend, attacks her and burns down her family home. Now, she and Sybil are back at school, trying to act as if the world is normal, except it's anything but, especially now that a fairy has popped into their lives.
Bree, a sassy fairy with a real attitude problem and a penchant for practical jokes, is tasked with getting Nat ready to achieve her destiny. Unfortunately, Nat's magic is being a real bitch and Sybil is this close to losing her shit. The semester is running down though, and both girls realize that they're running out of time.
Warning: PAW includes language, graphic adult situations, bullying, and violence, but while those are dark themes, PAW is meant to be a fun read.
Will Nat and Sybil ever get a break?!? The girls learn Fae are real and that Nat is the key to saving all witches. It’s kind of a lot to process. During PAW, Nat and Sybil must learn how to control and use their magic. It is imperative that Nat learns in order to defeat Puck. Training every day proves beneficial, but how long Nat and Sybil have to master their magic is unknown. The epilogue…what the what?!? That’s all I can say without spoilers!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nat’s story continues to get better with each book. I’m really invested in seeing her succeed. PAW gives us more Puck and he is a tool (not surprising though). I’m really hoping there is more of his back story in the next book. Overall - loved this book. I still have lots of questions and I’m ready for book 4!
Thoughtful planning needs to go into action and reaction cause Payback's A Witch
The envisioned war seems to be getting closer than the prophecy predicted. Pressures are mounting and with the help of ever-growing romances, pressures are also being released.
No shortage of surprises are thrown in for good measure, stirring the pot of suspense even more.
Ellie Aiden mixes social commentary concerning marginalization into a dialogue scene, which I found refreshing and very much appreciated.
This story continues the last book with action-packed magic and life and death scenes to pull you deeper into this paranormal fiction. This story has a little romance and a taste of normality but centers around magic, action, and high school. The author does bring in some new adult steamy scenes and expands on characters, including Bree, Puck, and Maggie. Nat and Sybil seem to be the main characters, and they get into a whole bunch of trouble and don’t resolve all of it. I like the sassy Fae even though she is sparse throughout the story. This story does end on a cliffhanger.
We begin this book in the past in the prologue by looking back at Laura and the seer. It really doesn’t explain the events that led to Nat finding out who and what she is in the previous books.
We start right where we left off with Nat and Sybil and the new girl Bree. Their clandestine meeting doesn’t go quite as planned, leaving more questions than answers. If you are new to this series and haven’t read the previous books, Natalie sums up the info drop quite nicely. But while we wait for the final days, we get back to high school with our favorite witches.
As this story progresses, the girls get into trouble, the new adult fiction gets steamy, and the girls can’t agree on much. The whole coven gets involved in the precarious circumstances, and a pure action-packed fight between evil and good ensues. The book ends on a cliffhanger and doesn’t really resolve anything. Still, we better understand Puck, Bree, and Maggie.
This book was action-packed and magic-packed, but the entire story gives you more pieces to the puzzle. I’m still anxious to see how this story ends for Nat and Sybil.
I loved the vibe this book started with. I was so happy to see some of the villains POV and definitely think it helped get a better feel of them. I will forever love Nat and Sybil (& forever be jealous of their witchy powers!) I was constantly on edge not know who to trust and who to be skeptical of. Maggie doesn’t seem like a bad person, but some of her choices are questionable. I actually like Lizzy Ann and loved seeing her POV more in this book. I’m so happy with their character development and how they are slowly but surely learning to accept their magic. Plus the 🌶!
There were a couple of things that sort of pulled me away from the story. At one point Sybil told Lizzy Ann not to f**k with her and that she isn’t Nat. It kind of made it seem like she sees Nat as weak and that they’re not as close as they seem. There was some mild religion “shaming” that seems very random and distracting. I didn’t like how the “I forgot to use a condom” part was handled. Giving the nurse a ‘new’ number to cover it up just didn’t sit right with me. I wish there was more parental/experienced adult supervision.
Overall, I really enjoyed the third book of the series. I love the world this author has created and can’t wait to see where book 4 brings Nat. Really hoping to see her grow more experienced and comfortable with her magic🤞🏼
This is book three of the Bitches to Witches series and this one is even more action packed. Sybil and Nat are preparing to fight Puck, and there are times that you can't tell who is their friend and who is their enemy. I absolutely love their sister-friendship and liked watching Nat grow in her newfound witch-hood. I also really love the crossover characters from the Fairy Awesome series, and I feel like (hope) we'll see even more in the next book! I'm invested in Sybil and Nat's story and I can't wait to find out what her magic means. While there were many exciting moments in this book as well as spice, there were also many moments that had me cracking up, too. I love dramatic Sybil: *I lay it on thick, because even though I’ve never been diagnosed with any reason to need a Snickers, I really feel like I might die if I sit here another second.* Can't wait for the next book!
Things are not all they seem at the start of Payback’s a Witch, as a key character makes an unlikely re-appearance. That’s good for me, because this character is one of my favourites. This episode continues from where the last left off, with Nat, Sybil, and the team of good guys all concerned about the prophesies over Nat’s destiny. It’s a prophesy for which Bree, a sassy fairy who we first meet in the Awesome Fairy series, plays a significant role in conveying, and indeed confusing. We now have witch-human-fairy dynamics, plenty of magic, friendship, s3x and violence … Ellie’s really created a melting pot this time. Oh, and BTW, I loved it and I can’t wait for the next.
Wow! This series is just getting better and better. These two girl are going through all the feels, emotions and so much more. The character building that has been happening is beautiful. I feel like these two girls would be my friends if we were in school together. I cannot wait foe the next book. I need to know what happens! So glad the bad guys are popping up and we get to read their thoughts too. Great read.
very good story.. good characters and fun plot... amazing world and fun magic... so many interesting things going on.. i loved the love and magic and the magical words.
