A modern-day Cinderella story…

When Raoul Montgomery is summoned back to Sweetwater Close, he had no idea what he was coming home to. A mother on death’s door, a father wallowing in self pity, and a catastrophic debt to pay.

For the first time in his life, Raoul must strike out and find a job to help his father and uphold the honour of their name.

Intent on getting on top of the mess his father created, he winds up finding more than he bargained for. A successful career, a calling to be proud of, and the rekindling of a past friendship.

Lucious Ballantyne, the boy he’d loved since childhood, is no longer a boy, but a man. One he turns to in his time of need. Could they be more than just friends?

Hated that Raoul's dad cheated on his dying wife.

Hated that he developed feelings for the woman who he cheated with even though she blackmailed him

Didn't understand why Raoul attended his dad's wedding and didn't really give his dad much of a hard time about the whole thing.

Also redundant to start the book saying what an amazing woman she was and how special when less than a year later her son and dad move on like she didn't exist.

Felt that the MM romance was a bit of an after thought.

This book needs clear TWs. I went in expecting modern day mm Cinderella but honestly I wish I'd never read this. It just bummed me out.
