Falling for the Doctor

Rate this book
Rural single-dad doctor. Big city sorrow.

What happens when your heart falls for the wrong guy and becomes the father of your baby? Heartbreak, that’s what.

Falling for the doctor that saved my life was the last thing I needed.
He was cocky, rich, and a bit of a dick.
Frank blamed me for his daughter being kidnapped.
(Not my fault.)
He also couldn’t come near me without making me melt. My brain would overheat and nothing made sense beyond Frank.
It all started with a sweet little girl coming into my hospital room while I was recovering.
It ended with me becoming her nanny and falling for her doctor dad.
Living in his pool house.
Succumbing to our desires.
Repeatedly.
I knew better. We were worlds apart.
There was no way that we could be together.
I still fell in love.
Then I got pregnant.
Saving his daughter from my ex was my top priority. I had to make it right, even if Frank and I would never be. I knew going in that our love was impossible, but my stupid heart couldn’t be stopped. I had to put distance between us, it was the only way.
Then he found me, kissed me, and I was lost in his arms. I was kidding myself if I thought I could live without him

Ugh - neither of the main characters were likable. The characters acted immaturely and there was no substance behind their emotions or behavior. It was all over the place. The characters also weren’t fully developed, most of the story made no sense, and the sentences were clunky.

Seriously, this book should come with a warning ⚠️

This book was so hard for me! I don't honestly know if it was because of the place that I was in while reading it or because it triggered me.

First, it kinda of didn't feel like Lauren Wood wrote this. I have read a lot of her books and this one kinda felt off. Not only that, but chapter 42 triggered some very uncomfortable and unwanted feelings in me. Because of they way Frank's character was written he felt like he forced himself on Amber. She clearly didn't want him touching her, but he forced kisses and himself on her. Whether she wanted him to or not the author wrote him forcing himself on her and her basically melting into him because she really did want him. It was the way it was written that was so upsetting.

Regardless of the author's intention, no character should be forced on another character without a proper warning label.⚠️

I really love Lauren Woods books and I would really appreciate it if someone took this seriously.

Frank's whole character was sort of inappropriate for a male lead. Frank forced his intentions and feelings on Amber and it not just from my point of view, the author wrote it in that way. Please just be warned if you have experienced unwanted attention on you in your life and have suffered trauma from a toxic relationship, please don't read or be cautioned. That's all I'm trying to say.

Amber had been involved in a bad car accident as she was leaving her ex’s, Tommy, house. She met the surgeon, Frank, who would do surgery on her to make sure she could walk again. While in the hospital recovering, she met a little girl, Alice. Come to find out, it is her surgeon’s daughter. As time progressed, she did her rehabilitation and the doctor asked her to become a nanny to Alice. He and his daughter were drawn to her. He was a widower and had not had feelings like this since. When Tommy comes back into her life, things change drastically. When Tommy decides to pull a dangerous stunt, Frank had to pay, literally. Amber disappeared with a secret of her own. Can he find her? What is her secret? What will happen to Tommy? What happened to Frank’s wife? How will Amber’s past play a part in her future? This is a really good sweet book to read and many facets of it can remind you how true-to-life it can be.

I recently finished this book and it was not for me.

The story fallows Amber a young woman that had just been in a car accident and Frank the surgeon assigned to Amber. Amber quickly bonds with Frank's daughter and Frank being a single father offers amber a nanny position. Eventually they fall in love ...

I thought the the plot of the story had potential. A woman falling for the Hot doctor that saved her. but the writing style was not for me.

the way there was a bit of dialogue and then it would suddenly switch to inner tough of one of the characters was annoying. it didn't allow the story to flow naturally.
I also found some of the scenes to be a bit childish and out of character. it didn't allow for any character development.
over all this book was not for me.

When Amber was leaving her ex she was in a bad car accident. Frank is the doctor that is helping her to recover from her injuring from the accident. She meets Alice Frank's daughter while she is in the hospital and they bond together. As Amber was getting better Frank asked her to be a nanny to his daughter and she agrees. Its not long before thinsg heat up between them and they are together. However, her ex comes back into the picture causing problems. Will this end things between Amber and Frank?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Fall in for the doctor

Frank, Dr Collins and Amber encounter each other when she is sideswiped at the lights by another driver against the light. Amber is unable to move her lower body and he is the surgeon able to perform the critical operation on her spine. Even in this desolate state Amber noticed that he was gorgeous and robust but unconsciousness claims her. The twists and turns in this story is emotional, almost beggars belief and to me, embarrassing. The two leads say one thing and their actions deny it. Their morals are not always above board but it is a story that I had to finish.

I liked Amber & Frank's story but I found it hard to get into with the will they won't they going on. I wanted them to be together but wasn't sure they could be as they were so different but throw in a little cutie called Alice & I really wanted a happy ever after.
I recommend reading this as it was a good story with wonderful characters although they weren't all wonderful at times.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book

Falling for a doctor read

Fast read about Amber who gets into a car accident and meets her doctor Frank who helps her walk again. This read is a short romance between a doctor finding love again with an ex patient. A lot of steamy scenes a must read.

Hate to give a bad review but

I found this book very poorly written. It didn't flow or something it felt very choppy and I couldn't get through further then rhe first few chapters. Cute storyline but writing needs work imo.

not a fan

Story wise I think it had merit but the writing style was not for me. The way that it switched from inner thoughts to dialogue was odd. The characters seemed to lack chemistry and some of the scenes felt childish. Over all it was just not for me.

Should be called tease!!

One chapter. She doesn't fall her neighbor in the one chapter given. Is your job, our boyfriend breaks up with her, and she yells at a bunch of guys next door for making too much noise! Then the book ends, extremely disappointed!

DNF

First time I've ever had to quit reading. I tried. Every chapter I tried. But I just couldn't do it anymore.

Writing was terrible. It would have been a cute story had it been written better.

FYI there are errors in the book. It bounced in many places until the end it came together. I think the author needs to give it another read.

DNF. Not a fan of when two people meet and are drawn to each other, but still sleep with other people "to take the edge off".

The beginning of the book Amber wakes up in the hospital after an automobile accident. Where she sees a good looking doctor/surgeon named Dr. Frank Collins standing next to her bed. Soon after she realizes that she can't feel anything below her waist. He soon lets her know he believes he can fix her but it will be a long process and she'll need support. She lets him know she has no one in her life to tell or help.
Frank is a single father to a rambunctious seven year old daughter Alice that has gone through a few dozen nannies and when the last one drops her off at his work he doesn't know what to do. He begins to bring her to work where the staff keeps her busy but what they don't realize is she keeps going into a certain patients room to hang out. Amber and her new little friend Alice enjoy each other's company but there's a twist neither realizing that Frank is her doctor and Alice's dad and he doesn't know his daughter has been in his patients room. Soon that becomes apparent when it's time for her to be discharged and his daughter has a melt down not wanting her new friend to go home. They are all surprised to find out the connection. Eventually Amber and Frank talk and since she has no one to take care of her and he needs a nanny she agrees to come stay in his pool house.
That's when things become complicated because they are drawn to each other but miscommunications, hurt feelings and her past comes back and threatens everything.
I must say I enjoyed the story for the most part but sometimes they were just stupid. Her with what happened when her past came knocking ,him with what happened after and the consequences of that action. I was irritated from that moment on. Oh and the end when her past showed up again and everything was wonderful.....yeah right.

I received a free ARC from the author through Bookfunnel an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.

Amber is badly hurt in a car accident and is left with no feeling below the waist. Dr. Frank Collins is her doctor and tells her he can perform surgery and it should fix it her problem but it will be a long time for her healing process. Frank is a single dad and his daughter is quite the handful which is the reason he has gone through numerous nannies which is why Alice accompanies her father to work. When Alice wanders into Amber’s room these two seem to hit it off. Frank notices the connection and since Amber has no family or friends, she agrees to be the new nanny. Will Frank and Alice fall for one another?
The storyline might have been a little far fetched as far as Frank promising to heal Amber but I didn’t mind that because I love how they fell for one another. I was given an arc copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Amber is in an accident, where her spin was injured and at first it seems like her legs don't work. Lucky for her she has the dedicated Dr. Frank Collins, who wants to help her. Amber and Frank are drawn together, and she meets Frank's daughter. Will Amber and Frank's daughter get along? I enjoyed this romance, both Amber and Frank were easy to like, even though they make some mistakes. I didn't like Tommy he was a bit of a jerk.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.

Excellent storyline and entertaining. Frank is a surgeon and he’s assigned a patient named Amber. Once he sees her be knows his life is going to change, he just didn’t know how much it’d change. Amber aged out of the orphanage she was in. She was hurt in an auto accident & Frank wanted to help. There is intrigue, mystery, suspense and romance. I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms Wood.

The series is sweet, sassy and steamy. Frank and Amber's first glimpse of each other had the effect of a blazing fire. I felt bad for Amber she was caught between a rock and a hard spot and had many decisions to make. Lauren gives you a story that has rough spots, but manages to have a hea ending even though her characters face struggles before they get to that hea.
