Those 12 short stories definitely are the key to the darkness of Lucas Hault's world. Fine tales he assembled here with strange characters in bizarre situations. I especially like the meeting up of man and siren and the eerie crone next door... everything here is very atmospheric and the author is able to create a fine 19th century feeling here even most of the stories are set in present times. Not brutal or violent but subtle and intriguing. Really recommended stuff here!
