When wealthy housewives are found dead in their own backyards, victims of a serial killer dubbed the “backyard killer,” Jessie must solve the case in the face of tremendous media pressure and a ticking clock. What secrets lie behind these hedges? And what do these victims have in common?
Jessie is baffled at these crime scenes, so isolated, with seemingly no way the killer could have known these women were there.
Yet something, she knows, must be connecting them.
Behind their troubled marriages and phony friendships, a killer is lurking.
But can Jessie uncover him before the next victim dies?

I am listening to the audiobook. I think I would enjoy the book, however, the narrator is horrible! Sounds like she's fighting falling asleep. Such a monotone voice. I don't think I'll make it through.
Jessie is struggling with her physical shortcomings when she returns to work. To top it up, her new partner is Valentine (whom Jessie dislikes a lot) and she has to report to her husband who is now the Chief. Their case is not a simple one, someone is killing wealthy ladies and leaves no trace behind. At the same time, Ryan and the rest of the team are working on Operation Z and Jessie is not involved. The two cases almost collide in time but Jessie has an outstanding performance and is able to help solve both. The ending leaves the reader on a cliffhanger. I wonder what will happen next! I thank the author for the ARC.
I Loved This Jessie Hunt Psychological Suspense Thriller
In this the Twenty-fourth book 📚📖 in this series Jessie is recovering from having been kidnapped by Andy Robinson and she's starting back to work as Mrs. Hernandez. Jessie and Ryan got married in the hospital room as she was recovering from her injuries. Now there's another mystery to solve and the HSS team have the threat of the last of Andy's a acolytes. She's supposed to put Operation Z in place. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next Jessie Hunt Psychological Suspense Thriller ☺️🤗.
The series has gotten too long. Yahoo that Jessie and Ryan are married, but is she pregnant? Or really recovering from everything she dealt with with Andrea? At least she has Hannah on her side who thinks like her and supports her. I'm glad she can still solve crimes, and that Balentine is making peace and being honest with Jessie. I like Ryan as chief but can tell there will be drama and arguing within the marriage if he withholds information from Jessie. But he is the chief, and he is looking out for her. I see great things ahead for Hannah! She works well with Kat!
Blake Pierce never disappoints with a Jessie Hunt novel. There were almost 3 stories going on here. I am really enjoying the friendship between Hannah and Kat, as well as the trust being earned with Valentine. Looking forward to the next book and being kept on my seat.
…but kindle version has too many typos. And audible leaves out some of the verbiage. It makes reading and listening simultaneously difficult to follow.
I have enjoyed all the cases in this series and the storyline remains interesting. I am glad Jesse and Valentine buried the hatchet and Hannah is starting to strike out on her own and find her passion.
This one was actually more interesting to me! But god why are these books so bad but so good? I HATE that I want to know what happens. Why are there like 40 books?!
Newly married Jessie Hunt has been assigned a case where wealthy women are being murdered in their homes. She has to figure out what all the women have in common and try to stop the killer before more victims appear. At the same time, Jessie has to deal with her husband being her new boss and how things are changing. Plus deal with the issue surrounding the woman who kidnapped her, now presumed to be dead, having her devious plot to cause harm to Jessie’s family, being carried out by her crazy followers.
After recuperating for a month, Jessie returns to work. Her new boss, Ryan (her husband), assigns her to a new case with Valentine. Wealthy women are being killed with no trace left behind. Ryan & his team begin working on "Operation Z" (also known as "OZ") trying to keep Jessie out of it. Things begin happening. Jessie & Valentine finally have a long past due talk. Things on both cases heat up and Jessie becomes involved in both. Great book!
