One World. Three Realms. And a deadly secret to unravel it all.
For Malcom McKnight, her life has been entrenched in a protective web of secrets and lies, but when she discovers soul-shattering truths about her family, she finds herself thrust into an entirely different world, and falling headfirst into the comforting arms of a stranger. But she has no time to rest. A nightmarish creature of unbridled rage threatens her new life—the result of a secret that has plagued her family for centuries.
For Andrew Coleman, he has been on the run from an assault charge since he was a teenager. Nothing could make his life worse, or so he thought. When he meets a mysterious man at a bar, looking for escape, he instead awakens in the realm of Exodus—of magic, of monsters, and the truth behind his relentless troubles.
And for the McKnight family—they struggle to hold the splintering pieces of their bond together as terror comes alive at the hands of the Dark Law Ordinance. Their presence brings forth a war unlike any the realm has ever known, and to stop them, it is discovered that the past cannot be buried forever.
It will take a land united to bring light back to Exodus…
Malcom's life was always protected with secrets. And when the truth comes out, she finds herself in a totally different world. Because of her heritage, her life is threatened. Andrew has been on the run for a long time and now he finds himself in a whole another realm, where he might find answers to his troubles.
My favourite thing about the book was the magical structure, the way the world was set up and explained. It made total sense and it was quite interesting. The notion, that magical beings, Mythics were right with humans, right from the start, following parallel paths, has diverged quite a lot lately, it is a very compelling one.
While the build-up was quite long, it provided a great backdrop for the story.
The story has many twists and turns, it's intense and I never knew what will happen next. While I liked the idea behind the story, I found the storyline quite confusing.
Thank you to the Fantasy World for the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An action packed and very entertaining epic fantasy novel. I love world building and the descriptions of the various realms. There's a whole array of fantasy creatures including elves, werewolves, dragons, trolls, fairies and more. The characters are great too, especially Malcolm and Andy. There's lots of twists in the story. Just when it looks like all hope is lost, help comes from from an unlikely source and the protagonists are not what they seem.
The storyline is okay, too much buildup for my taste and it feels like bits were forgotten about/changed along the way. I found the immense spelling mistakes really took me out of the story. There's a lot of potential here-I really wish the author had taken a bit more time to really flesh out the story they were going for and let someone proofread/edit before sending it out
