Well, it isn't bad. But it isn't good. The action is the best part, followed by original characters. Not that there are a lot of original characters, but the few that are in this story are well written and lovable.
But aside from that, it isn't anything new, and it isn't very memorable either. What I really didn't like about it was the fact that in most of the author's notes, the author states that he/she wants to make the story realistic, which is ridiculous if you turn Harry into Superman in a short amount of time, even without any magical help! Just by training! Yeah, very believable. At least other authors try to make it believable by including a hidden power, rituals, potions, magical accidents and even guardian angels. Here, it is just training, and not even years of training, only months.
The ending was good in my opinion.
But there were some aspects of this story that I didn't like one bit.
And another thing I didn't like was the whole concept of family importance. But it is in the name of this fanfiction, I think it was my fault for reading it after reading the title.
Not that it is bad, just, not the best one in this sort of fanfiction genre.

Easily five stars. Very few romance, thankfully. Let me cite from my comments-as-I-went: The first four chapters are already an absolute five-star-worthy hammer. Decent, detailled, and definitely a heretofore unseen approach at tackling a fanfic plot. Just wonderful. — Most amazing supportive-fallible middle-ground Dumbledore portrait I’ve seen so far. And that other old guy is f̲u̲n̲!
Things get better; even if characters are killed off, the story lives on and livens, although the last few chapters leading up to the final battle are a bit of slump, quality-wise; most of the battle and some of the aftermath (such as what Harry does in the 1997/1998 Hogwarts year was semi-predictable but a good decision, despite him lacking the Canon DA experience) make up for it, and the epilogue is not as lustless as JKR’s and gives us some sense of closure.
I found myself majorly irritated twice though in the story: at the weddings. Done by a priest. In a church. I think the author lost themselves too much in their romance-y dreams there. But if you ignore this… flight from the universe the author has spanned up for the story… then it’s great.

So it turns out that this is the first of TBR's stories. I suppose I can therefore forgive the reuse of the Stebbings scene, which played out practically word-for-word in the other story.
I also really struggle with authors who don't close their dialogue with punctuation, it just jars me. And there were some real humdingers in terms of proofing, things like "Now I do believe that it is time for us to divulge in our annual welcoming feast", "Inside he found several wand holsters, books and personal defects", and "When Gellert became the treat that he did the wizarding world looked to me to solve the problem.". I think treat is supposed to be traitor, in case you can't work that last one out.
There's also a lot of your very typical fanfictionist grammatical cockups: "per say" instead of "per se", "draw" instead of "drawer", "tact" in place of "tack", and a number of unique ones, such as "amiably" instead of "admirably" (Yes, Voldemort did tell Harry they'd fought amiably), "exulted" instead of "exalted" and "deducted" instead of "deduced". I also love the sentence "Being missing for 2 months in the wizarding world without training was a death sentence". Or perhaps just a regular school holiday for every Muggleborn, as I care to think about it. Finally on the grammar front, a rather high number of colons. But at least not too many "thought not"'s.
So all that aside, I enjoyed this quite a bit more than TBR's other stories for some reason. 'Twas a very actiony work, and even if the idea of the Black being alive completely flies in the face of all we know and the treatment of the characters is a bit rough around the edges (literally, spoiler alert, the only bad guys are Malfoy, Voldemort and Ron), I still enjoyed it and wanted to carry on reading more than the others. I may even give another one ago!

Cons: Harry's rescuer could have killed the servant before he completed the potion, instead he stood by; magical maturity makes Harry more powerful than Dumbledore; parsel magic; Harry goes from mediocre student to in a few months; Harry is too confident; the wizengamot is a circus where all people do is insult each other; Harry starts antagonizing everyone after he finishes his few months of training which make him invincible, his above the law because of this; abuse of magical oaths.
