I thought from the beginning that both the characters and storyline were not believable. They are both too far fetched to be real. A big disappointment.
This book was weird. The characters are one dimensional. It's a mystery novel but the ending made no sense. It reads like somebody's journal prompt. Strange formatting. But Kindle Unlimited, so...
This book made no sense until the last 4 or 5 chapters. I almost stopped reading it several times, but I always have to see it through. The last chapter brought everything into focus, but the juice was not worth the squeeze.
This is a fantastic psychological thriller that kept me glued to the pages right to the end with all the twists and turns throughout. The author does a terrific job bringing strong characters and perfectly painted scenes and delivers a true page turner. Loved it!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Sofia is trying to live her life on her own. But when an older famous actor comes into her life it is great timing, because someone tried to kidnap her. Plus, he gives her the first chance to be an actress...which she is not. She also gets some experience of the 'Hollywood egos', spoiled actors and their offspring plus much more. This book did not go as I thought it would. Very entertaining. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is His Last Wife, a psychological thriller written by Gia Pere. This book is totally captivating! You can’t help but want the best for Sofia, all while trying to figure out her secrets. But she isn’t the only one with secrets! The island is full of them and some are quite deadly! Can she hide her identity while trying to solve the mysteries of the man who brought her to the movie set? You won’t see the end coming! It’s so twisted of a path from beginning to end. Good luck!
Good, but I'm left w/ questions... did Nick know who Sofia was this whole time? due to the fascination of that one role he had with the family. Plus how it ended in the room w/ her father it said " when you were kidnapped from the coffee shop" she wasn't kidnapped? Anyone else feels the same way or just me?
Too many questions unanswered. Did Nick know who Sofia was the whole time? Are we going to talk about Sofia falling in love with the man who played her father in the movie?
Until the very end, I wouldn't say that "the bodies started piling up." One dead body, and the circumstances were underwhelming. I simply did not care about the dead woman. Or the people involved in her death. More character development needed.
The story line was preposterous, which is typical when telling about Hollywood types. Also very cliché... arrogant aging actor, certifiably crazy ex wife, unbelievably spoiled children.
In my opinion, it takes a certain talent to write about celebrities and make it interesting. Jackie Collins had that talent. Others... not so much.
I was torn between rating this 2 or 3. Since I blasted through this in a day, I feel like it was good enough to swing a 3. Wouldn't necessarily recommend or read any other books by this author, though I will say there was plenty of suspense, so she might have potential.

Relationship Thriller Mystery with Fantastic Banter
Parents- PG13- YA to adult geared +17 read Language- PG- some but not heavy and no f-bombs Violence- nothing super graphic Sexual Content- There's a lot of sexual tension and banter, insinuations, lead up and after bedroom scenes but nothing explicit.
This book was so much fun! It has the fun spunky banter I love and makes a great comic relief to the serious murder mystery / relationship thriller side of the story. I don't want to give anything away so I will keep this short. This has a lot of sexual themes even though there are only before and after scenes, making geared for an older crowd. Definitely recommend this for mystery thriller fans.
Narrator- 5🌟 I love this narrator, she does a fantastic job with the voice differentiation, acting, and is simply a lot of fun to listen to.

A mystery, but quite involved. Sophia works in a coffee shop. One day a well known actor comes in and Sophia is captivated. Nick asks her to come with him and he will make her a star. She leaves with him and goes to the site of the film shoot. She is instantly the leading character and is also having a romantic affair with Nick. Nick's ex wife and his two children, Boxer and Izzie are also staying at the same hotel. They have some built up resentments, but Sophia seems to like Nick's ex wife Coco. Then Coco ends up dead and fingers start to point. After all, nobody knows who Sophia really is. The children do not seem upset over their mother's passing and neither does Nick. I really wanted to give up halfway through this book as the characters were so unbelievable, but I kept on reading and the second part of the book seemed more interesting, but still bizarre. I thank the author, publisher and Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Sophia is a waitress, but is she really only that? Nick is a famous actor looking at doing his next film. Nick’s ex-wife and his two kids are also part of the package deal of the film. Tropics, deceit, drama and death (murder of course). Nick and Sophia make each other happy, but the end game is not what either expects. The two kids are devious in their own ways and think everyone and everything should go their way. And the things they do are so hard to believe. Nick’s ex befriends Sophia as well as belittles her. Looking for someone to connect with in order to make her life more relevant. In the end, she doesn’t get what she wants. They put Sophia in danger. However, her secret is more deadly than they thought when it gets them in trouble later. Sophia is a master survivor and this is only the beginning of what she can and will do to stay that way.
His Last Wife was a great read by Gia Pere. Sophia is a mysterious woman on the run. She is having her Cinderella moment when she's plucked from obscurity and flown to a luxurious location as a companion to an older but hot Hollywood power player. She doesn't find out until she gets there that his family is there for a free vacation and they are all damaged. The older son is an actor himself with a massive chip on his shoulder. The daughter is a spoiled teen who treats the world as a personal playground. The ex-wife is a fading star who is loud and rude. Sophia surprisingly finds her likable in her own way. They all want something from Sophia. I loved reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
What a mind twisting story! I never knew where it was headed until it already happened. I thought it was just a celebrity taking a young lady on a trip to babysit his kids. Then I thought it was more of a romantic trip while he made a movie, while his family was working too. Then it was a murder mystery. And then I started questioning who is Sophie, what’s her story and how does she know certain things. Very unpredictable and I loved it! I received an early copy and wrote my review voluntarily.
Addictive storyline Recommended Fantastic story, I am up to Chapter 6 and I already LOVE it. This is some very clever writing. I was offered a copy as you can see but I thought this writer needs to be supported for such an entertaining tale so I bought a copy. The characters jump off the page and this self confident waitress is the bomb, I just don't know what she is going to do next and I am dying to find out about her past. RECOMMENDED
A young woman takes refuge on a low-budget movie set. You learn what she is escaping from only in the last chapter. You won't guess. The writing style is unusual, one-sentence paragraphs. Reads like a movie script, but it doesn't detract from a most enjoyable read.
Audiobook review: His Last Wife is an interesting and entertaining story. Nothing is as it seems with many twists, turns, and surprises right up to the very end. The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Oh, this was good! A true rollercoaster but one in which you are blindfolded for most of the ride and you aren't sure if there is a safe landing *laughs*
Seriously, the story kept changing in my mind; any time I thought I knew what was going on bam! I discovered that I knew nothing... and I loved it.
Unpredictable and absorbing, with a very intriguing main character this is a great story!
So many twists that by the end, my head was spinning! I couldn't stop listening, I kept wanting to know what would happen next. Sophia is so sexy and mysterious, part of me wishes I could be her. I did wish I could have had more from the other characters, there was just enough that I started to feel for them. Definitely a perfect fast-paced read filled with action and passion.
A little confusing as the focus kept changing mid scene. If you can keep track of obscure details until the end, the story ends up making perfect sense. I like the style of writing, something brand new, to me. I am looking forward to the next book.
Gia Pere writes a great and thrilling mystery. Loved the storyline and the plots that was woven. There were certainly lots of twists. Even though I saw quite a few of them coming. There were still a couple that caught me by surprise.
This was a riveting psychological thriller. A twisted tale with multiple twists and turns and fantastic characters. An unforgettable plot that will keep you guessing until the end.
Wow!This was an excellent book!I want more! Who just runs off with a once famous actor to be in a movie and his companion for a week.Tiffany Williams narration made it SO good! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
One of the worst written books I have ever read....anyone who has given this book more than 2 stars needs to seriously review their reading selection! It was poorly written, a boring, disjointed story which jumped all over the place. No connection with any of the characters. Altogether awful
The character Sofia had you guessing what was up with her throughout the whole story. She was a strong person who took no guff from the people in her life. Good story with a good ending.
Once in awhile a story like this comes along that makes it hard to predict what the heck is going on. And this one was no exception. Keep up the good work Ms Pere.
