A simply riveting addition to Lenkov Bratva, great characters and story line

Once again, we are dealing with the Lenkov siblings who were in fact taken under the wing of the head of the Irish Mafia Padraig who had raised Daniil and Timofey along with their sister Mila who saw her mother murdered by their father along with other brutal beatings and far worse which she has never divulged to her brother only her mother’s protector Maxim had known of these atrocities and he had stood by Mila and her brothers.

At the wedding of her brother the woman that Mila and her brother swore they had killed turned up again to advise that Harrington was going to kidnap Mila and then when he had finished breaking her he was going to kill her. Mila has no option but to put herself in play when she discovers that her father is helping him, her brothers and Evie are in danger from MI6 and Mila will do anything to keep family safe.

Niki and her brothers have to make a run for the hills in their effort to reach Mila in time she has left a trail of breadcrumbs for the men to follow and has also contacted Maxim the only other man she trusts with her life to come to her aid as well, he had cared for her mother all those years ago and her and she believed had also got Padraig to take her and her brothers under his wing even though they were Russian Bratva.

I do not want to spoil the story for other readers by giving away too much about the plot but it is interesting that for the first time Mila is allowing a man to have a relationship with her and Nikolai Morozov is he. He is one of the head enforcers in the Bratva and Mila makes it quite clear that their relationship is between them, everything has to appear as normal with the men she is in charge of they have to continue to see her as her brothers.

Respect is everything in the Bratva, it could cost lives if they failed to act on her orders.

I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This is the third in the author's Bratva siblings series. Because the MC, other characters, and salient plot points appeared in previous books, I'm not sure this works as a standalone.

This entry is atypical in that this sibling isn't a brother, but a sister: usually this genre depicts the conflict between criminal men and the non-criminal women they fall for. Here, though, both Mila and Niko are Bratva members; given this and the fact that Mila outranks him, the relationship dynamics are an unusual and welcome change.

So, I liked and recommend this book. Usually Ms. Daniels is too harsh and non-con for me, and her MMC's too uncaring, but this isn't the case here. It's clear that Niko wants nothing more than to make Mila happy; refreshingly for this genre, when he realizes that he's going about it the wrong way, he apologizes and changes course. As for Mila, well, I didn't find her particularly likable (though her backstory partially explains her personality), but, I don't need to like a character, just find them interesting, and I did like her strength and initiative.

I did have some quibbles. Some important action happens off-page (the ); the first half is more interesting than the second, when Niko tries to clip Mila's wings; the backstories are OTT torture porn; and I didn't feel I got to know Niko as well as Mila, but, then again, this is really her book.

4 stars. One line of action remains open at the end, and there are two characters who I suspect will get the next book, even though we're now out of siblings.

Mila is tough as nails. She doesn’t take anything from anyone including her brothers. Niko is the head of security for the Lenkov family and isn’t about to let anyone get close to Mila. These two have been play cat and mouse from the beginning. We finally have some of the gaps filled in from the other stories. We learn about where Mila and Niko went and what happened in between. Mila kills me. She keeps playing with Niko but you know she wants to break down and be dominated by him. She just doesn’t want people to think she is weak. We do learn about one thing that is a mystery. Really sad actually. Niko is a perfect fit to Mila. They both complement each other. He is a dominate man but he loves her beyond measure. They would both die for the other. I enjoyed this series. We learn more about her father as well and what the deal is with Agent Harrington.

The 3rd installment of this series. So violent, a lot of torture, beating and killing. Understandably though, it's a mafia book after all. I couldn’t sympathize with Mila. It's just difficult with the killer's mind set she's always in. I was disappointed as well because the horrible things that she had seen in her life previously didn't make her a kinder or nicer person but a cruel and devious one. I felt there should be more about Niko's story. Mila was in charge most of the time while he felt inferior to her and had to adhere to her brothers' dictation all the time. I believe a stronger character for Niko was warranted in this book. It was a fine read but I wished Mila's wings were clipped more. She needed that.

Not the best

I've read several of her series and enjoyed them. However, this series and especially this book just didn't work for me. I'm all for a mafia romance and I've read some of the darkest "romance" novels with twisted lines but to me this book just didn't show that balance we all love where the man may tie you up, control you and push every line you have but worships the ground you walk on and loves you unconditionally. They built this idea of Mila as this bad ass mafia princess and then tore her down basically until the last few pages of the book. This book spent more time trying to control and sex than actually showing any kind of true relationship. Not a bad book just the dynamic wasn't me.

Having read the other books in this series I do not need an introduction to the Lenkov family. Loved them all, and while Mila and Niko steam up the pages, I found her contribution to the series just a little less dynamic than the boys stories. Don’t get me wrong - I am all about strong, independent females with smarts and strength to do what they want come hell or high water. Mila just fell short of that for me. Still love the series and rate this instalment highly. !!

Just not for me. The other books in the series the main characters had chemistry. These two do not. There is no heat or attraction to me. They are just blah. I don’t like the way they treat Mila at all. It’s appalling and the she just goes back to them all like no big deal. Nope the worst book in the series

Loved it..

Oh what a family!!! The young sister as equal to any man she faces. That is not good enough for Nico...he wants surrender, with her on her knees for him. Such is the journey Nick and Mila take to find love in their harsh world. A good story.

Cracking

Third in the series this works as a stand alone novel. I really like Mila, a feisty and strong female lead, and enjoyed her romance with Niko.

Defiance by Sassa Daniels

Not much I liked about this book. Didn't like the characters. In one scene, Nickolai has anal sex with her and then takes her vaginally. Consequences of such disgusting behavior is not addressed. Yes, fiction is make believe, but rules still apply.

Good bratva story, nice slow burn. Niko did get a little alpha at times when he shouldn't have infront of others, I get it. Ĥim over stepping didn't have near the consequences that it should have. Glad that everyone saw the right way with Maxim or Mila might have went outer limits on someone.
