His one obsession is her…

From the moment Colette sweeps into my bar, I can’t stop watching her. Even when she doesn’t know I’m looking. Especially then.
My cameras record her every smile, every frown, every moment. I study her until I know my girl inside out, my obsession growing, overwhelming me, demanding I act.
She’ll never find out my secret, will she?

A fun, quick read about an OBSESSED mountain man. I think it was trying to have too many points in the story but was still a nice break between two 700 page books!

My great great granddaddy Bear 🐻 used to come up this part of the mountain. First son is always called Bear 🐻 how is that a tradition?! This made me cackle so much I loved it 😍. A cute little read in between books 📕 to wind down from the stressful reads I had the last few days. No vampires, no werewolves just humans in love. Don’t get me wrong I’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming soon enough. Just not right now. This was flipping cute 🥰!

This novella is about Colette and Bear. Colette just moved to Maple Ridge. For several weeks, they danced around each other, with Bear secretly watching her every move. He's a stalker, but this isn't dark at all!! He finally makes his move after following her up a mountain... She's very receptive. ;)

I'm excited to read the rest of the series - I believe that several of the male characters mentioned in this book are the heroes in the rest of the series! <3

SAFETY:
Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, unknown past for hero
OM/OW drama: none!
Tropes: age gap, instalove, stalker
Kinks: voyeurism
HEA?: yes!

This was another winner! With a stalker hero and an innocent heroine, it brought all the swoon! It’s a novella, so perfect to read at lunch or to sneak in during a quiet moment in a busy day! Even tho it was a quickie, I still felt as if I got to know the MCs. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned at all but he didn’t come off as a manwhore. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. BONUS—I freakin LOOVED that she deliberately waited for the right man, her soulmate, instead of most romances with virgin heroines making up lame excuses as to why the heroine hasn’t let random dudes use their bodies like a subway, getting on And getting off . Loved that. No others, no cheating, sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue years out.

it took me 11 minutes to read the entirety of this book 😭😭 while i love my short novellas, this one was so short, it missed key factors in the relationship. sad to say, it wasn’t my favorite but if it was just a few pages longer, i think it would’ve been a hit

Colette comes to Bear's bar to write her stories. Bear is drawn to her and has set up some cameras to watch her. One day Colette asks Bear about some cabins on the mountains because its research for her book. Bear tells her about them and then plans to meet her up there. Sparks fly between them and when they run into each other on the mountain its not long before they give into each other. Will Colette end things if she learns about the cameras? Can she see that Bear is perfect for her?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Quick, hot and deliciously over-the-top, I really enjoyed this book. Bear and Collette's story was fun and intense. For me, this book was a great way to detach, disengage and relax. These characters were likable, and I thought their chemistry was easy to feel. All and all, I enjoyed it and look forward to returning to Maple Mountain soon. This is my independent, impartial review.

Bear sees Colette for the first time and is instantly smitten and kind of obsessed. He followed her and always had an eye on her. Little does he know that Colette has a crush on him too.😉 Instalove, sweet, steamy, romantic and safe without drama and with a sweet HEA😍😍😍😍

This was a lovely mountain man romance. Bear owned a bar in the mountains. When Collette walks in it was love at first sight. Bear was obsessed. He watched her, learned about her, followed her. He wanted to keep her safe. He wanted her to be his! The story was very hot and steamy, with lots of chemistry and true love. The HEA was amazing. I really enjoyed this trip to Maple Falls and can’t wait for more! . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Bear and Colette met when she comes into his bar. Colette is writing a book about mountain men, she lives in California and heads to the mountain to get the experience. Bear owes his bar Bear's Brewery, it was passed on to him when his parents passed away in a climbing accident. The same day Colette is in the bar Bear installs a camera to watch over her. Bear has camera throughout the bar. From watching her Bear knows Colette is writing a book. Bear knows her every expression, every turn of her mouth when she bites her thumbnail she's thinking, and she hums along to her music, he knows she smiles along with her characters and mouths the words when she's writing. Bear thinks Colette is sitting and working but she spends a lot of time watching Bear. Colette knows there's an attraction between them. Colette has been in Maple Falls for three weeks, she only came for a week. Once Colette seen the mountain she knew she had to stay longer, then she met Bear. Colette plans to hike to the trapper cabin. She finds out Bear's ancestors used them, when she asks him about them. When Colette heads out on the hiking trail Bear follows her. Half an hour later they're at the old abandoned trapper's cabin, not far is a rock ledge where Bear hides from her view. When Bear climbs the boulders, he watches her as she takes photos and scribbles in her notebook. When Colette walks to the boulders Bears hides out of sight. Bear moves and loose pebbles slide down over the side. Bear fears Colette is going to see him, but before she looks up he slithers backwards and jumps to his feet. Bear walks to the edge of the rock, as if he just got there. Colette's view is blocked out by a figures. Colette realizes Bear is standing on top of the boulder with his hiking gear. Colette finds out Bear's sister is looking after the bar, then he tells her this is his favorite trail. Bear shows Colette the cabin, he tells her it's been abandoned a long time and tourist have come looking for souvenirs. Colette tells him it must have been lonely for a men up in the cabin. Bear takes Colette back out in the sunlight, then she pulls a bottle of water to drink. Colette realizes Bear is watching her, then he closes the distance between them and smashes his mouth to hers. Bear lifts her to sit on the boulder and rumbles her name. Bear tells her he's been wanting to kiss her ever since she walked into his bar, Colette tells him she wanted it too. Soon Bear's hands slips into Colette's shorts, soon they hear voices. Bear pulls away then hides Colette behind him. A couple stolls up into the clearing, Bear tells Colette lets go back to town. Bear holds Colette's hand while they hike down the mountain. Bear asks Colette over to his place for dinner. Bear makes Colette dinner, but when she shows up he pulls her to him. Bear kisses her, then runs his hands up her body. Bear tells her he can't wait until after dinner, and she can't either. Colette tells Bear she's a virgin, then he pleasures her and they make love. Two weeks later, Colette's sitting on Bear's couch finishing the last scene in her book. Colette has spent most of her time at Bear's place. Colette needs to come up with a name for one of the couples children. Colette does an internet search but nothing comes up, she's doesn't have Internet connection. So Colette heads to Bear's desk to check his internet. When she opens his laptop she notices her name a folder on his desktop. Colette opens the folder and soon realizes there was a camera trained on her in her favorite booth. There's several videos of her writing at the bar on different days. Colette soon realizes that's how Bear knew she was going to the cabin, he's been watching her all this time. Colette finds one of the live feeds of the bar. Colette watches Bear, the more she watches him the more turned on she gets. When Colette pleasures herself she opens her eyes and hears a door open Bear walks in. Bear freezes when he sees her on his laptop, Colette tells him she found his files. Bear tells her he can explain, he loves her from the moment she came into his bar. Bear tells her he wanted to watch her all day, she's his world. Colette takes Bear's hand and presses his palm between her legs. Bear is totally confused, but Colette tells him she found the files and found the live feed. Colette tells him she watched him, she tells him she's horny. Bear tells her he loves her, and pulls her out of the chair, lifts her into the air and lines himself up. Bear goes and sits on the couch with her in his lap where they make love. Bear tells her he likes watching her but if she wants him to stop she will. Colette tells him he doesn't have to stop, she thinks she likes watching him too. Bear tells her she's perfect for him, why don't she stay and be his mountain girl. Then he asks her to marry him and Colette tells him yes. Six years later, Colette is finishing up the last book in her series sitting in Bear's bar. It's been six years since Colette came to Maple Falls and she never left. Soon her children come running in, Bear JR who's almost six years old and her twins Wolf and Coyote. Colette realizes they're growing the next generation of the mountain, and she couldn't be happier.

Is it perfect, no. Was I entertained, yes, yes I was. My only issue was there were a couple times the dialogue seemed a tad cringe, but I also know the no one is reading this for the dialogue. Overall it was a nice quick read

This is book one of the Men of Maple Mountain series and the main characters are Bear, the owner of a bar in Maple Valley, and Colette, a writer who has hired a cabin initially for a week, but who has stayed three weeks so far as she attempts to finish writing her romance story. She has been distracted completely by Bear, watching his every move out of the corner of her eyes and listening to his voice whilst pretending to listen to music! What she doesn’t know is that he is completely fixated on her as well, going as far as watching her on his CCTV system, even installing extra cameras, to be able to watch her every move and to even read what she has been writing. So even when he is busy with customers, he can watch her at his leisure when he goes to his apartment above the bar each night after work. His obsession is growing and he needs to speak to her one of these days before he explodes!
When he does get to meet up with her outside of the bar, he is acting completely as a stalker and gives himself away when he got too excited! He is a mountain man from a long line of generations of mountain men, where the first born male has always been called Bear. Perfect for the storyline Colette is trying to write. Going to see an old mountain cabin is the perfect place for her to see how people lived in those days of old. It ends up with Bear wanting her there and then, but being disturbed by other hikers. He invites her for a meal, at his home of course, and then don’t even get to eat anything he made, as they get down and dirty for a hot steamy quickie as soon as she is through the door! The story is short and steamy, as two people come together with an instant attraction and all Bear has to worry about is whether she will ever find out his secret and if she does, how will she react? A fun and quick read, with two likeable characters and a wonderful setting. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Bear's Brewery

Mountain Man's Obsession is the first book in the new Men of Maple Mountain series and I can already tell that I am going to love the series. The story is about Bear and Colette and is set in the very small mountain town of Maple Falls. Bear grew up on the mountain and after his parents died he inherited the family bar and was the guardian to his younger sister. He spends his days and nights working behind the bar, lives in an apartment upstairs and has good friends, but has not found a woman that fits him for the long haul yet. That all changes when she walks into Bear's Brewery. He did not know her name or anything about her but he claimed her as his before even saying a word to her. Colette is an author who writes historical romance. Her latest book is about mountain men and as she grew up and lives in Southern California she figured a trip to the mountains would be the inspiration she needed. She rented a cabin up the mountain and each day she comes into the Brewery with her laptop to drink some coffee, get ideas while looking at the mountain, and write her story. The only issue is that she keeps thinking about the big, burly, bearded and "sex-on-a-stick" bartender more than she thinks about the story. What she does not know is that he is obsessed with her so much that he even installed a new camera inside the bar to point directly at the booth she sits at each day, just so he can get to know about her more. Will they ever even talk to each other before she goes back home? My money is on talking and a whole lot more!!!

This is a light, fun, and entertaining story with a lot of wit and sizzle. I really loved this story, the characters and being back in Maple Springs. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Colette was a romance writer. She went to Maple mountain to try to get some inspiration. After finding a bar, she found one that had a view and was neat and clean. The view was not of the mountain but of a mountain of a man. As she sits at the booth she took up to write but she watches the bar tender, Bear.
Bear can't keep his eyes off the beauty that sits at a booth working on her computer. He installed a camera above her booth, so he can watch her. He knows it's wrong but he just can't stay away from watching her. As he watches her on the camera he can't wait till she's his. He finally talks to her and finds out she wants to go on a hike to see where old mountaineer men use to live. Bear is not letting her go on a hike by herself. Bear followed her but stayed hidden. Then he moves and knocks some rocks and that alerted Colette. He manages to act like he was taking a hike. Then one thing ends up where Bear can't keep his hands off her. They start making out but stops because they hear other hikers.
Bear can't wait to get Colette to himself. They start seeing each other and Colette is able to write her book. One day she was looking for something when she came across the video feed of the bar and it was of her, which meant that Bear would watch her. That turned her on and when Bear came home he saw her and thought shed be upset but she was not. She loved it! Bear couldn't be happier.
They ended up getting married and having the best sex life ever all because of a video. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a “instalove” short story and I received this story as an ARC for my honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this steamy short story! Bear sees Collete walking into his bar and it is instalove for him. While reading this I felt some sorta insta… something for for Bear! 🥵 Who doesn’t love a rugged mountain dom with tats and beard?! Especially one like him who is a little obsessed with you and is a voyeur??!
No one?! Anyone?! Just me??
Ok then, I will keep him all to myself!
The scenes in this short story are very passionate and spicy! I love them. I think this author is my new short story go-to. She writes the short really well and gives just enough storyline to make it feel more believable and not just a hot scene then it’s over. That’s what I liked most. I recommend it!
Enjoy ladies! You won’t regret it. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Mountain Man’s Obsession by Sadie King is an excellent quick read.

Bear is a handsome mountain man who owns a bar in Maple Hill he inherited from his parents after their tragic death.
Colette is a historical romance author who travels to Maple Hill seeking inspiration for her new novel.
Br>
Bear becomes obsessed with Colette. So he sets up a CCTV feed to watch her without her knowledge. And, he follows her on one of her sight-seeing adventures. Okay, that’s kind of creepy. But Colette found out, and she didn’t mind. That’s just weird; most women would scream their lungs out as they sprinted away from him. I loved the author wrote something unexpected. Still, it’s insta-love in the mountains with a smokin’ hot mountain man, a beautiful girl, and sizzling romantic scenes.

The epilogue was super sweet.

The characters and settings were well developed. The plot was short and excellently crafted. Five Stars!

Sadie King kicks of her brand new Men of Maple Mountain series with the delicious Mountain Man's Obsession. Colette, an historical romance author, is working on her latest book while renting a cabin in the mountains. She quickly discovered Bear Brewery and has spent hours for the past few weeks settled in a booth each day looking out on the mountains while she writes. The bar's owner, Bear, was enamoured with the curvy beauty from the moment she walked into his bar, to the point of obsession. The chemistry between the swoon-worthy alpha mountain man and the intelligent, beautiful writer is palpable from the start, and their instalove romance is a quick, entertaining, sweet and steamy read. A great debut for a new series!

Bear runs the bar in the mountains. Colette left L.A. for the mountains, to get inspiration for her romance set in the mountains of early 1800s. She likes to watch Bear and he is watching her at night off the video feed he trained on her during the day. Worried she may get hurt or lost when she decides to check out an old hunting cabin, he follows her and the story of their lives starts in a perfect way. The characters are strong, determined, and have intense feelings about each other from the very beginning. The storyline paints a great locale of scenery and characters that visit the bar. He is very protective of his sister and Colette, and the banter is terrific. Love the way the videos turn the tables on them. Great ending and can not wait to read more.

This is book one of the Men of Maple Mountain and it is Bear and Colette’s story. Bear is a bar owner in Maple Mountain and Colette is a romance author who ends up in Maple Mountain to get some insight into the life of trappers living on the mountain in the 1800’s for her book. She has been coming to Bear’s bar to write almost every day for 3 weeks before they start talking and Bear has installed a CCTV to watch her at her booth while writing. So when Colette goes up the mountain to search for trapper cabins, Bear follows her at a distance and happens to “Show up” unexpectedly while she’s there. Their story is super cute and steamy and I would recommend it to everyone!. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Bear owns the bar in the town and one day Colette blows in - she's staying in town for a while, visiting the bar each day, hoping to get some inspiration for the romance books she's writing, since there is a nice view of the mountains at the bar and also one very hot and distracting mountain man. Bear hardly talks to her but every night watches the CCTV playback of her. He's obsessed with her - hence the title. He sees that she's planning to go on a hike and follows her and things start to get frisky but other hikers walk by and they decide to meet later in the evening for dinner. Fast forward to two weeks later and Colette finds the videos of her; thankfully for Bear, she finds it hot and it becomes a thing between the two of them.

I read this as part of the set. I like that it centers around the same characters, such as is in this set. In the first story, Mountain Man's Obsession, Bear owns a bar, and ALL the characters that will appear later in the set are introduced in the first chapter, which sets the tone for the coming books! Sometimes you just need a quick sweet read in the middle of the day and this hit the spot!

Read in an hour. This is a rare 4 star for me on a novella. I normally give them 3, if they are good because it is such a quick read. This one was a little different in a few ways that I found intriguing. One, she’s been in town for several weeks and likes him too, normally it’s a day and the mountain man has to convince the female it give in. Two the sex scenes were in the male’s pov and that is rare as well and I found my self liking his pov. Lastly, how he protected his sister too. That is normally a depth these short novella’s don’t get to. I was so close to giving this one a 5 star but couldn’t bring myself to do that since this was only 50 pages. I think had it been 100 I would have given it 5. I just can’t do that for a novella.
