Saint? No! I'm Just a Passing Beast Tamer! Light Novel #2

Saint? No! I'm Just a Passing Beast Tamer! Volume 2

Rate this book
Locked in the dungeons underneath the High Cathedral in the Holy City Lordentia, the Spirit Wolf Fenrir cries out for his Saint. For centuries, he has waited for the rebirth of his master. But now she is close. He would recognize her scent anywhere. Can Fenrir escape his captor’s torments to warn the Saint of the danger? And what will he do when he learns that she’s not a Saint at all, but just a passing Beast Tamer? Can he possibly learn to get along with this ridiculous furball calling himself the King of Demons?

Kanata threw away the title of Saint to lead the freewheeling life of a Beast Tamer in search of fluffy critters, and now that she’s saved the city a few times and broken the Goddess’s curse, she’s ready to head out on her adventure! But the wickedness of the Church and their false Goddess is greater than she knows. Not that it bothers her! The open road is ahead, and the fluff awaits! What else could possibly matter?

Continues to be just completely and straightforwardly silly. It's nice to relax with. Are there better light novels? Sure. But there's nothing to complain about here. It is what it is trying to be, and that's nice, I say.

Sooooo OTT, but adorable nevertheless. Read when you are in a silly mood or want something REALLY lighthearted and fun. 3, I can’t seem to quit this series yet, stars.

3/5 Another popcorn light novel. Easy reading and really more of the same from volume 1. This time around we are introduced to FenFen who is actually Fenrir the spirit wolf. Kanata rescues Fenrir from an evil priestess of the faith and continues on her overpowered adventures.

It's fun and interesting enough to keep going. Also very easy "fluffy" reading.

So cute

We now see the Advent of the True Saint! Just kidding, she's a beast tamer. But Kanata saves the Holy city and grows her church of Fluffism. Fen fen is also added to the cast of frankly adorable characters. Let the fluff go on!

Very Funny

The story is funny and entertaining. I enjoyed her adventures, although she's still an airhead. Hope the next book is as funny as this!

Zag’giel the King of Demons, keeps being abducted by Kanata, main character, reincarnated Japanese basket case, cat lady, whose only objective in this new life is to pleasure herself with the fluff from fluffy animals like Zaggy (the Demon King). Because Kanata was a health terminal case that died, the Gods that be gave her over-powered (OP) skills and abilities.
Because of Kanata's pathological need for Fluff, this light novel series is highly narrowminded and shortsighted. There are no other plot arcs to this series, just caressing, bathing and stressing the fluff.
This Volume 2, is super short at less than 150 pages and only 4 chapters with one side story. This second volume is probably going to increase the Fluff Harem (Fen-Fen), to the depraved fluff main character. She even became a beast tamer, the lowest of professions just to be able to abduct and keep fluffy animals.
I really hope the author deepens and broadens this light novel series. I think this would have been a better manga series because author apparently has not much else to say. Monothematic stories are better the less they say (especially if they are in a manga-style with little to no words). Kanata needs a psychiatrist and readers like me should create a civil suit and demand to get compensation from emotional and mental suffering from reading this series.

Fenrir is a spirit beast in search of a Saint to follow, just like the Saint he knew a thousand years ago. But something is wrong---a woman who calls herself the Saint has imprisoned him, and the scent of the real Saint is leading him somewhere else. Abandoning his body to its prison, Fenrir heads off in search of his true master . . .

I didn't think this story really had anywhere left to go, and of course Zaggy's arc is done, so Kanata gets a NEW fluffy pet to obsess over. This time a puppy. Who is of course the ancient and mighty Fenrir . . . or he would be, if he could get back to his main body and release it. For now he's just a ball of fluff about as dangerous as the original Zaggy.

This is as zany as the first book. Kanata is vastly overqualified for every job anyone can think of, and in fact had qualified as Saint, but rejected it for her beloved Beast Tamer class. The real Saint has some pretty bad personality issues, which fits right in with the goddess she serves, but no amount of power or charisma is enough to stop Kanata in pursuit of cute pets.

Overall this is still a pretty goofy series. It's a light read but it can be good for a few laughs. I rate this book Recommended.
