Future villainess Pride is hard at work using her authority, boss powers, and past-life knowledge to save her people from a tragic fate. When she hits thirteen, she has an earth-shattering revelation: a scheming man trusted by the royal family had a secret route in the otome game! Can Pride foil this master manipulator's plot to unite everyone against her before it leads to her doom? And why is he so desperate to ruin her in the first place?
Blew through this one in two days. I will be reading this and the first book on repeat until the third volume is out. I just love these characters and I like how the stories of the Prime Minister and Val worked out. I wonder who the Big Bad is though. 5, why do I torture myself with unfinished series, stars.

If you are going to put racism in your book, then at least make an effort to show us that you are working to improve things in the kingdom instead of ignoring the issue completely. I know it's not a major plot point but just because the guy who suffered is a criminal doesn't mean it should be ignored. The kingdom needs to work on fixing a lot of things.
I have some little issues with the characters and some events, especially that way of banter, but I take it into account that Pride may be of a legal age in her original timeline? But still, it's not appropriate, in my opinion, considering Pride's age in this world🙈
Anyway, this was still a fun read. I enjoy the kids' relationship so much 🤚🏽
There are lots of small issues that annoy me, such as calling Stale her brother-in-law to describe that he’s her adopted brother. Not sure if that’s a translation issue or whatever, but it annoys me. Also, there is a lot of screaming and wailing that seems to happen, and I often find the adjective kinda…awkward in the places it is used. Maybe because it sounds weird when I try to imagine a lot of strong knights standing around wailing.
I don’t like Val’s arc - I find it a bit creepy the way they randomly slip in innuendo when he makes remarks to Pride, and I also get grossed out over the foot kissing thing. Pride not only went way out of her way to help him when he’s an asshole that trafficked people, but she did so in ridiculous ways that really brought her close to death and weren’t necessary. If the knights were mad at her endangering herself for them in book 1, how much worse would they feel that she’s doing it for poor kids she doesn’t even know? It’s also inconsistent that Val speaks so disrespectfully to her despite the contract. In fact, they are often talking about proper etiquette, yet you’ll notice a lot of very disrespectful behavior that’s just accepted. I can’t imagine why Val’s power makes him an ideal delivery person - yes, he can move earth to speed up his journey, but…..is that actually faster than just riding a horse? And isn’t that seriously disruptive to anyone else on the road? Stale’s teleportation skill makes more sense.
I find it odd that Gil was running around being basically a traitor and her dad never noticed. It sounds like he was worse in this life than the original since originally he worked hard thinking that Pride would help him, instead of doing so many shady things. However, given how openly malicious she was, it’s hard to believe he would trust her with such an important thing - I mean, she referred to his sick fiancée as a “sack of germs” to his face. Seriously, such a smart, scheming, one-track-minded man like Gilbert would have found a way to kill Pride off. The backstory or ORL is really unbelievable when you keep finding out more of how much she sucked.
She still thinks she’s just going to be evil at some point and hasn’t quite picked up on the fact that she’s strayed really far from that future. See, if the original Pride built up these kinds of connections and THEN went bad, it would make sense that people would find it hard to stop her because they remember her nice side. You can’t start off bad from the beginning and get any support.

Volume 2 of The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen by Tenichi.
Well, when you're this wrong about someone you truly owe such a character an apology. Gilbert surprised me. I'm honestly flummoxed that I didn't recognize the potential for a deserving reason that he was fighting that hard to accomplish his goal. Meeting his Marianne was touching, her addition to the story completely shifted his characters trajectory.
We found out so many more powers within this book, or at least their further applications or abilities. It's truly fascinating to see what latent powers present themselves.
I kind of loved every minute of this. Val is such an interesting character. From the moment I realized she was going to continue her saving routine I started questioning whether he was a possible love interest... He honestly might have been, or has the potential to be...? But I simply adore the shift in his characters prospects, and the little family he was practically forced into loving through persistence.
That must be the theme for this volume? The potential for one small act of kindness to change so much. For one moment in time to completely allow a person to change so drastically.
Most concerning this volume would have to be whoever the frack that Adam the magnificent douche nozzle from the kingdom of Razia was??? He seemed to be responsible for the slave trading of Freesian citizens, have a penchant for dropping bombs, and riding in a hot air balloon?? Also, is he mind controlling people??

Thank goodness we've finally reached the end of what I already know from the manga — I can look forward to future volumes with some unknown content!
Vol. 2 was just as enjoyable as the first installment of the light novel, but I will admit to slight skimming due to my excitement to make it to the next book. Some of the story threads were new to me, but for the most part, I was already familiar with all events and characters.
One thing I appreciate about this series is how swiftly the author takes us through Pride's story. We haven't spent excessive time at any specific age, and at this rate, these characters might reach adulthood earlier than I'd hoped!
This volume was spent mostly fleshing out some side characters seen briefly in the previous volume.
Gilbert. Last volume he served as a side character that had the potential to become an antagonist. This volume fully fleshed out his character and definitely did him justice. His relationship dynamic with Stale was especially enjoyable.
Val. I fell in love with him this volume. He's just a tsundere who enjoys stirring the pot. By the time this volume was finished, I was prepared to fight for him.
Overall, I enjoyed this volume and I'm excited to see where this series goes. However, I could've done without the foot fetish.
I know it's a bit unfair to not judge the light novel on its own merits separate from the web novel, but I personally preferred the latter version of the second arc of this volume. Certain characters & dynamics were given more time to shine and I was a bit sad those parts weren't there. I also think the light novel version cut certain material for the purpose of streamlining that made the progression of events a bit confusing/rushed. At any rate, I'm still very grateful to have the opportunity to support the author officially in English!
I really really love this story so much. We finally get the backstory of the Prime Minister and the criminal Val. I have to say that Val arc was my favorite. I loved how a cold criminal learn the meaning of love and care. Also the Prime minister did all those evil deeds for a reason. In short, the 2nd volume definitely lived up to the hype.
The story of Pride continues in this new installment, where she remains convinced she will eventually become evil. She once again uses her knowledge to save another love interest from dispare and show another their true worth. The criminal Val also makes his return to learn what it means to be human and have a family.
I can’t help wondering who will be Pride’s consort. She’s winning hearts everywhere she goes. Surely these guys are going to start fighting with each other over her at some point, right?
A criminal is redeemed in a very realistic and believable fashion.
A new threat emerges, but isn’t yet developed. I expect more intrigue in future volumes.
I think the part that is most interesting for me is that after a scenario is successfully resolved, the participants have a 'dream' about what 'was supposed to happen'. It kind of makes a nice contrast.
I continued to have a lot of fun with this volume. I was surprised that the criminal from the first volume was brought back in such a big way, but it was definitely interesting and handled very well. Looking forward to the next volume of this series
I actually didn't finish it which should probably rate it lower but for me it's like I just got bored. It wasn't terrible but I got a little over halfway through and realized I really didn't care about anything happening in it. Which is sad cause I really enjoyed the first book.
Wow I love our FMC, and the love interests.... 💛💙💜💚!! We have also met a major threat to her majesty, her people, and country. I need to know what happens next.
Love this light novel. I read the first one saw the cover for this one, and then immediately bought it. I love the characters on it and wanted to learn more about Val.
