A mistaken blind date leads to love.
I really liked this short story. It was entertaining and enjoyable even with a bit of stalker drama. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Izzy was a good friend but a little too pushy, even though it ended up working out for Kayla. Denny was happy just hanging out and listening to music when he was floored by Kayla’s arrival. Kayla was just as floored by Denny. They were clicking and vibing until they were interrupted. Denny was protective of Kayla and was willing to defend her even though they hadn’t known each other very long. After some drama and angst over a misunderstanding, they are reunited. I loved their happily ever after. I would have loved for there to be another epilogue further out but that’s just because I’m greedy. I recommend reading this book.

Cute story about a mistake on a blind date that leads to true love. It was a super quick and easy read. I do wish there were more sex scenes just to amp up the spice factor but it is what it is.
I have preordered the rest of the series and I'm excited to see who ends up with who

WOW!! I couldn't put this one down. I absolutely love it!! This was a nice quick, short read.
Denny meets Kayla when he's at the bar, she comes in looking for a guy Izzy set her up with and thinks it's Denny. Before they leave the bar Kayla's ex-fiance dumps into her and Denny takes him outside. Kayla tells him he's not worth it and asks him to take her home. When they get in Denny's truck she tells him to just drop her off at the store and she'll call an Uber to take her home. He tells her he can take her home it's not a problem. Along the way Kayla starts to get a little frisky with Denny and he has to pull over, he undress her and she has his pants down when they see headlights coming up the mountain. It's Kayla's friend Izzy, she is coming to check on her to make sure she's alright. Izzy tells her her brother's friend said she didn't show up and she got worried about her. Kayla thinks Denny is the guy she was suppose to met and tells Izzy. Izzy lets her know that's not the guy she set her up with and that Denny is know for his criminal activity. Izzy tells Kayla that she needs to leave Denny alone and go home. The next day Denny realizes he didn't get Kayla's name and now all he can do is think about her. He remembers the other woman that showed up works at Rugged Mountain Ink, so he decides to head that way looking for some answers. When he gets to the ink parlor there's a line out the door and down the street. He goes in the back exit and hears people complain but he's not there for a tattoo. When he spots Izzy he questions her about where Kayla lives or her phone number but she makes the mistake of giving Denny her name. He leaves satisfied with a least her name. On his way back to his home he gets a phone call from the local sheriff wanting to know if he's had any luck finding the latest guy there looking for. Realization sets in on why Kayla ran last night, they think Denny has connections to crime. Kayla at home getting ready for bed, she has a pretty strict routine. Her phone rings and it's Izzy, she lets her know that Denny came to the tattoo parlor looking for her so she should be on the lookout. Izzy tells her to be careful they don't know who Denny is and what he's capable of. After they hang up Kayla is scared so she gets herself a cup of tea, she thinks she sees something outside. Then she hears something scrape against the outside of her cabin, she screams then she sends a text to the police, who'll be there in twenty minutes. Denny doesn't have any luck when he checks his trail cams for the lasted fugitive. His dog Niko alerts him to something, so he heads out gets in his truck and heads in that direction. When Niko starts to whine he pulls over and they take off on foot. Kayla hears a mans voice but she doesn't recognize it, so she hides in the closet. Soon she hears what sound like slamming against the cabin walls, then she hears it again. Another mans voices calls to Kayla telling her he heard her scream wanting to know if she's alright. This man tells her he called the police and they're on their way, he tells her he has someone tied up in her driveway that was creeping around her cabin. She tells them Thank you, Denny recognizes Kayla's voice and calls her name. She steps out of the closet not sure if it's Denny or not, when he tells her his dog heard some noises and they came to check it out. The police show up and then Kayla steps out onto the porch, she sees Denny and he waves. He comes over to her and give his coat to her wrapping it around her. Denny asks her if she's alright, she asks him how he knew and who the guy is that tried to break in. Denny tells her it was Niko that alerted him to the noise but the guy in the back of the cop car is the one from the bar last night her ex-fiance, Ryan. Kayla goes to Ryan and asks him what he's doing, he tells her she won't take his calls, her father wants him to bring her back. Kayla goes to go back into her cabin when the sheriff steps up to Denny asking him if he's caught someone yet, she slows her steps so she can hear the conversation. Denny runs after Kayla as she goes into he cabin, he asks her what did Izzy tell her about him. Kayla tells him that people in this town peg him as a bad guy, some have seen him with criminals. He tells her when he moved here he needed a change in pace from the banker he was back home. He now does bounty work for the county, he brings in the criminals that hid out in the mountains. Denny shows Kayla his bounty ID badge he has for the county. She apologies for not asking him what he does and just assuming, she offers to make him dinner, but he tells her he'll pass but keep her company. They head inside and talk, she tells him she's a virgin. He's shocked she didn't tell him the night before, she tells him it's embarrassing. Denny wants to get off this subject so he asks her about her future plans, she tells him she wants to grow things and sell them at the market, but for now she'll probably get a job at her sister's salon to pay the bills. When she tells him she should be a bounty hunter like him she walks towards him, then they kiss. She pushes him onto the couch then straddles him, but he flips her over and pins her down. He tells her if he takes her now she'll be his, she tells him she wants to be his. Denny tells her he should asks her to marry him right now, she tells him if he did she'd say yes. So he fiddles around with his keys, then goes down on one knee and asks her to marry him and she says yes. Six months later, the field of wildflowers they are growing are coved in snow. The bees are dormant until spring, they head to the market with honey to get them through the winter months. Kayla is four months pregnant, they've been married for four months. Niko sits in between them and they scratch his head, crates of honey stacked behind them, built by two outcasts, that found love with each other that will last forever.

This is book number 3 of the Rugged Mountain Ink series and focuses on Denny and Kayla. Kayla has been slowly getting her life back together after leaving her controlling family and the cheating fiancé her parents picked out for her behind and starting a new life in the mountains. Her friend Izzy decides that it is time for her to get back out there and sets her up on a blind date. Kayla decides to go on the blind date and see where it goes. When she gets there, she meets Denny and the connection is instant. Denny immediately feels protective over Kayla and knows that there is something about her that has him picturing a future together. They have a bit of a bump thanks to a over concerned friend, but they both know what they want and quickly move towards a great HEA together! This was an excellent addition to the series!

A case of mistaken identity, playful banter, immediate sexual chemistry, and a little mountainside small-town intrigue combine for this fabulous third installment of Khloe Summers Rugged Mountain Ink series. Denny and Kayla are fabulous together in this instalove age-gap short romance, a well-written read that entertains from the first page to the last. Having read the earlier books in the series as well as Ms Summers' entry in the Galantines Getaway multi-author series, I was already familiar with both Kayla and Denny, and reading the story of how they find one another was a joy. This story is about twenty-four year old Kayla and almost forty year old Denny, Kayla's life has literally blown up and she has run away to the mountains after running away from her wedding. She ends up on a blind date at the urging of Izzy and that is when she meets Denny. As it turns out he sets all her urges free and they become insatiable for each other.
This was a fun story but a bit confusing at times as the details change a few times. But overall it is a short, steamy, naughty, funny and entertaining read. A nice addition to this series with great characters and a little character cross-overs.

This was different from the usual mountain man romance trope and I really enjoyed it. This mountain man series is bad boys, tattoos, and a small mountain town. I also really liked this story about a blind date that goes completely different than expected. I don’t want to give away what happens but it was a twist I didn’t expect.
Kayla is new to town but has made good friends with Izzy, the local tattoo artist. Izzy sets Kayla up on a blind date to get her out of the house and socializing. Her night goes way different than she expected but everything she needed when she met Denny. There is some tension, some suspense, a misunderstanding, scorching hot steam, and a beautiful ending.

Kayla is trying to get her independence on and figure out where to go from here. Izzy is trying to shove her into a relationship, or at least get her out of the cabin! Denny is not looking for anything, but dreams of a family like his brother has. A matter of mistaken identify and lightning striking brings them together. Then the town gossip gets in the way, and Kayla runs. But Denny comes to her rescue a second time, and never leaves! Loved the story and the characters. Great series, can’t wait for the next.

A really good love story
I enjoyed reading the love story between Kayla and Denny. Kayla was in a disastrous relationship set up by her parents, who were rich and that they knew everything. She ran away from her groom the day of her wedding. Moved to the town where her sister and hubby live. Her friend Izzy set her up with a blind date and she met Denny. Connected with him right away until Izzy said he hung around with bad guys. Read how it goes, town gossip is so bad. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have. Looking forward to the next. These books are like those writing challenges where you have to write a horror story in a single sentence. Except it's with Romance and also is not good. Do I want to read about a tattooed bounty hunter who is desperate to take care of this girl he likes? Duh. Do I want the meet-cute, climax, and proposal to take place in the space of like 20 pages? No. Reading the blurb of this book is basically reading this book.
These aren't for me. I don't know why I keep reading them. They are literally designed to do all the things I didn't like about this book. They're for someone but not for me.

Kayla is going to go on a blind date. Her friends wanted her to get out again after her non wedding. So she goes and meets Denny, only Denny wasn't the man she was suppose to meet. I am glad she met Denny because what follows is a great story, full of steam and instant love. This is a great story and these two people are wonderful together.

In this book we meet Kayla & Denny. Kayla and Denny meet one night at the bar. Though Kayla is keeping secrets. When it comes out these two need to find out if what they have a give them a HEA or are is there just to much unknown for this to work?
Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Could have been great but a side character ruined it
I really liked it. Nothing out of the norm for this type of book except I really didn't like Izzy. I know what she's supposed to be like but she came off seriously unlikable & it tainted the book for me. I cringe at the idea of her having her own book & not sure I can read it cause even the little bit she was in this, I couldn't stand her.

I absolutely loved this book when Kayla runs from her wedding she swears off men and when her friend tries to set her up, she is hesitant but instantly falls for Denny. A unfortunate mix up, causes them both to almost miss out on that perfectly happy ever after. I love their ending and Khloe always gives us that awesome read.

April 18, 2022Oh I loved it! Kayla and Danny are perfect for each other. The book has suspense as well as romance and I loved that. Not want to give away spoilers, but what a friend Kayla had. She only wants the good of her friend, but ends up making things difficult. 5 stars with praise.

Kayla and Denny meet at the local bar when she was supposed to be meeting a different guy on a blind date. I loved the instant chemistry these two had from the start and how they worked through the rumors. This is a small town mountain man romance with likable characters, misunderstandings, and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This short story was really great... it was hot and steamy, age gap romance, instant attraction and chemistry, a misunderstanding, a little suspense and action, and finding a forever love and future.
These two characters were meant to be and so perfect for eachother. I truly loved their story. Cant wait for the next book in this series.

This is a great short insta-love read. Denny is a big, strong, alpha who wasn't looking for love until a case of mistaken identity brings him in contact with kayla. The sparks fly the minute they meet although there are a few misunderstanding in between when they finally get their HEA it is sweet and cute.
