Kaylea loves to hear from readers, so please feel free to drop me a line and say hello.
Kaylea Cross writes a wonderful, solid Romantic-Suspense. I have never been disappointed by her books and this one is just as good. The cast of characters in Crimson Point are just wonderful and they define what community means and that is very important in this book. As always, the climax is worth the wait and the action is as fast paced as ever.
Boyd Masterson has made his home in Crimson Point for two years. He likes the solitude and values his privacy. His separation from the Army left a bad taste and all he wants is his space. He finds a scared, starving dog and takes her in. The dog belonged to a man who was killed, but Boyd agrees to care for her till the prior owner's sister can come and get her. Ember Thiessen is the sole survivor of a horrific attack in Crimson Point that took her brother's life. All she wants it to retrieve the dog he loved so much. She is also back to face the ghosts and lay them to rest.
Circumstances put Boyd and Ember together and it turns out to be a healing experience for both of them. . . until the man responsible for the attack escapes from prison and heads to Crimson Point to tie up some loose ends and murder the only witness who can identify him. Now Boyd had to keep Ember alive while fighting his feelings for her.
The most traumatic event of Ember’s life happened in Crimson Point when her hiking group was attacked and shot to death on the beach, including her brother. Being the lone survivor meant rebuilding her life. To do that, Ember also needs to face her demons by returning to the spot where it all happened and to bring her brother’s beloved dog home with her now that he has been found wandering the woods.
When Boyd rescued the stray pup trying to get his chickens, he had no clue what it would bring to his door. But, Ember quickly becomes his reason for truly wanting to live again rather than just exist after his painful separation from the military. When she becomes a “loose end” for the killer to clean up, however, Boyd knows he’s the only one that can keep her safe and is willing to do anything he needs to in order to make it happen.
Ahhh - the last Crimson Point book! I love these characters, but, my goodness, Boyd and Ember were truly something special! To go through everything she has, the fact that Ember is a ray of sunshine and so incredibly brave is unbelievable! She is the perfect foil to Boyd’s solitary and brooding lifestyle and literally breathes purpose and reason into him, which he had been missing for the last few years. And, while Boyd seems reclusive, he really does love hard, his trust has just been broken. I loved his relationship with his son, Travis, as well as how quickly he came to care for the rescued pup and for Ember. (Side note - I adored Travis and I’m super excited for his story in the spin off series coming soon - Crimson Point Protectors!!!!!)
This is emotional and intense. Watching Ember be continually threatened and endangered makes this story action packed even as the emotional healing is happening and a new relationship is being explored between Boyd and Ember. Dangerous Survivor was everything that I have come to expect from a Kaylea Cross romantic suspense book - pure magic! 5 stars!
4.25 stars-DANGEROUS SURVIVOR is the seventh and final instalment in Kaylea Cross’ contemporary, adult CRIMSON POINT romantic, suspense series-a spin off from the author’s KILL DEVIL HILLS series. This is forty-eight year old, former US Special Forces soldier Boyd Masterson, and thirty seven year old, IT specialist Ember Thiessen’s story line. DANGEROUS SURVIVOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Ember’s story begins in book six DEADLY VALOR.
Told from several third person perspectives including Ember and Boyd DANGEROUS SURVIVOR follows in the aftermath of a mass killing wherein Ember Thiessen is the only one to survive. Returning to Crimson Point to retrieve her brother’s dog, Ember comes face to face with former US Special Forces soldier Boyd Masterson, the man she met months before. Trying to bring some closure to her life, Ember rents a cabin in Crimson Point only to find herself homeless within a matter of hours when a watermain breaks, flooding the house. Reluctant to bother anyone else, Ember calls Boyd Masterson, who offers up his home to our story line heroine but Ember’s world is, once again, about to spiral out of control, when one of the gunman escapes from prison, and sets his sights on taking down any witnesses, including our story line heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Boyd and Ember, and the potential fall-out as our couple are target, and Ember’s time in Crimson Point comes to a close.
Ember Thiessen survived the execution style killing of her brother and friends, but when a call reveals the location of her brother’s missing dog, Ember is willing to take Mozzie home, a piece of her brother she never knew she would miss. Boyd Masterson is a loner having experienced betrayal and hardship while in the US army. Never having realized the dog that he rescued belonged to one of the victims of the gangland style murder, Boyd is overwhelmed when the woman who arrives is someone he ‘knows’- the attraction is immediate and palpable. When the Feds and local law enforcement recommend witness protection for our story line heroine, Boyd believes he can protect Ember better than anyone else.
The relationship between Ember and Boyd begins as acquaintances in the wake of so much destruction and loss. Ember had hoped to regain some of the peace she lost with the murder of her brother but never expected to find love with the man who would save her life. Boyd doesn’t do relationships, preferring to remain alone in his cabin in the woods, but meeting Ember stirs something long forgotten, something Boyd is hoping until the end of time. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters include most of the couples introduced in the prevous story lines: Sheriff Noah Buchanan and Poppy, Aidan and Tiana, Jase and Molly, Danae and Ryder, as well as the introduction of Boyd’s son, Air Force Tech Sergeant/ pararescueman/physician assistant Travis Masterson. Travis’s story begins in FALLING HARD, book one of new spin off-CRIMSON POINT PROTECTORS SERIES.
DANGEROUS SURVIVOR is a story of grief and loss, murder and vengeance, family, friendships, relationships and love but also a story that introduces the characters and sets up the background for the author’s new series. The premise is intriguing, engaging and exciting; the romance is seductive and spicy; the characters are energetic, determined, and charismatic.
Whenever a book by this talented author comes across my hands, I know it will be another wonderful story. This one was just that. Though it’s a stand alone, if you’ve read the previous book in the series, you’ll recall Ember Thiessen, the lone survivor of a truly horrendous attack. She’s back to face the past and hopes to move forward with her life. What she never expected was to meet the man she had bumped into prior to the attack, and that he would be the one that would help her. Especially when her life is once again in danger. Boyd Masterson is that man. One that dedicated his life to his country and the military and one that was devastated when he became the scapegoat for something he wasn’t at fault. Though now basically a hermit, his attraction to Ember is real and he will do anything, even die, to keep her safe. This story was engaging from the first page to the last. The main characters are complex and perfect in their imperfections and if you have read other books in the series, you’ll get a chance to catch up with the previous characters. The hint of a spin off is promising. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Ember returns to Crimson Point for two reasons. First to liberate her brother's dog, found weeks after he disappeared AND to lay some pretty traumatic ghosts to rest.
Believing she's free from danger, she's relieved when Boyd can step in to offer protection when that proves necessary.
The story of Ember and Boyd is sweetly innocent and hot as all get out....if that's at all possible?
I love that both characters are not in the first flush of youth and have hefty baggage that they bring along with them.
However, if I'm ever in need of protection, I'm calling dibs on Boyd, 'dibs'! I swooned more than once listening to his internal ramblings and would fight Ember to the death (for just one night with him), if not for the fact that he would have to 'take me out' for laying hands on his woman!
Oh well, the pitfalls of being an romance reading addict!
Ember is the only survivor of the Crimson Point murders. She returns to the area to confront the trauma and hopefully move past it. While there, a new threat develops. Thankfully, her new neighbor is the reclusive Boyd, who has years of military experience and is well suited to keeping her safe. I think this ends the series, as the next book is a new spin off series that starts with Boyd's son. I'm looking forward to that next series as well. I read the ebook. 4/5
For the past two years, Boyd Masterson has been content living as a recluse up in the hills outside of Crimson Point. After what had happened at the end of his military career and how he was treated, all he wanted was peace and quiet and just to be away from everyone. It was not until the appearance of a lost injured pup and in turn, the appearance of Ember Thiessen that he realized being alone was not enough anymore.
After surviving the mass murder that took her brother from her, Ember is now alone. For the past two months since the attack, she has been trying to cope. She had just been going through the motions of living. When she found out that Mozzie, her brother's beloved dog was found, going to get her was exactly what she needed. Mozzie was the only tie she had left of her late brother and hoped maybe she can get some closure by going back to where it all happened.
When Ember appears at Boyd’s doorstep to pick up Mozzie, they both realized they had met before. As rare as it was that Boyd is ever in town, he was actually at the same coffee shop as her and the rest of the hiking crew, including her brother, on that horrific day. There was a spark from that first day and they both feel that spark has not lessened. But Ember is here to heal and find closure and Boyd sees himself as damaged and feels his needs may be too much for Ember. After a series of events, Ember and Mozzie are under Boyd’s roof, and as they get to know each other their budding attraction could no longer be denied. Boyd was already feeling protective over her, but when danger from the attack resurfaces, his need to claim and keep her safe was the most important mission in his life.
I have loved all of the books in the Crimson Point series, but I have to say Ember and Boyd’s story is my favorite. The instant connection, that pull towards each other, the understanding of each other’s issues, and that intense and scorching chemistry made me love them together so much. And as a dog lover, I adored that it was a little pup that brought them together. This was a fantastic 5-star read.
I was thrilled when I found out Boyd was getting a book and that his leading lady was Ember. Boyd fascinated me from the moment his character appeared earlier in the Crimson Point series. And putting Boyd and Ember together was such a great idea.
In Dangerous Survivor, Ember Thiessen is trying to take her life back after surviving a murder attempt and witnessing the deaths of her brother and sister-in-law when they happen upon a sex trafficking operation during a night hike. She comes back to Crimson Point to prove to herself she can do it and to get Mozzie, her brother's dog who has been found alive and is being taken care of by the hot recluse, Boyd Masterson.
Boyd Masterson is a former army hero that was made a scapegoat when a mission went awry. Boyd lived for his military career, giving everything to keeping America safe, and when his sacrifice is in vain, he leaves the army and moves to Crimson Point. He keeps to himself, unable to trust anyone, but when he finds Mozzie half-starved and injured, his protective instincts emerge and he fosters her until Ember comes to claim her. Speaking of protective instincts, when Boyd sees Ember, knowing what she's been through, he's drawn to her.
There's so much heat and chemistry between these two, I thought my Kindle was going to catch fire! Ember ends up staying with him when her rental cabin floods, which turns out to be a godsend because one of the men from the sex-trafficking ring has escaped and is looking to make sure no one can identify, namely Ember.
I've given away more than I should so no more details from me. All I can say is that I've loved every Kaylea Cross book I've ever read, but Boyd and Ember stole my heart. The longer they are in close quarters, the more their walls begin to fall and their hearts begin to heal. Dangerous Survivor is a 5 star read and I highly recommend it to everyone.
Boyd is an ex-military man, who for the past two years, has been living alone up in the hills outside of Crimson Point. He kept to himself until the appearance of a lost, injured dog turned up at his cabin and in turn, the appearance of Ember Thiessen that he realized being alone was not enough anymore.
Being the sole survivor of a mass murder that took her brother from her, Ember is now alone with no family. Since the attack, she has been trying to cope and has just been going through the motions of living. When she found out that Mozzie, her brother's dog was found, going to get her was exactly what she needed. Mozzie is the only tie she has left of her brother and Ember hopes that maybe she can get some closure by going back to where it all happened.
When Ember appears at Boyd’s doorstep to pick up Mozzie, they both realized they had met before. Even though Boyd keeps to himself, he was actually at the same coffee shop as her and the rest of the hiking crew on the day of the incident. But Ember is here to heal and find closure and Boyd sees himself as damaged and feels his needs may be too much for Ember. After a series of events, Ember and Mozzie are under Boyd’s roof so he can protect her, and as they get to know each other their attraction can no longer be denied. When danger resurfaces, targeting Ember again, Boyd's need to claim and keep her safe turns into the most important mission in his life.
I loved Boyd, I loved Ember, and of course Mozzie. Boyd is so protective-- he's a little rough around the edges, but he is a genuine protector and cares deeply about Ember, and has a soft spot for Mozzie. I love Ember. Man, after all the stuff she's been through, she is tough as nails and is so strong and brave. I really liked how strong of a heroine she was. Trusting someone as big and bad as Boyd isn't easy, but she does trust him, and it ends up being one of the best things she chooses to do.
I loved returning to Crimson Point, it was great to see Ember get her HEA. Dangerous Survivor is it’s own story, however we do get a conclusion from an ongoing story from book 6 Deadly Valor, don’t worry if you haven’t read that book, you can either read it or I feel the author does enough of the back story to be able to read and enjoy Dangerous Survivor as a stand-alone.
Ember’s backstory is truly gut wrenching, she is the sole survivor of a gruesome attack that killed her brother and sister in law, in Dangerous Survivor she returns to Crimson Point to face her demons and to collect her brothers dog who was believed to have been lost during the attack….but the murderer has other ideas.
“My main man Boyd” (sorry author, I’m claiming him as mine lol) has been living a very solitary life up in the hills above Crimson Point, he likes his peace & quiet until he agrees to temporarily foster a lost dog.
This story is an engrossing read, I loved how intense yet caring Boyd was, and how protective he became towards people he cares about. The author writes fantastic romantic suspense so, as you can imagine Ember and Boyd do not have an easy journey to HEA. I adored catching up with previous characters from the series, the location was captivating, and the suspense grabbed hold of me and didn’t let go, the romance heated up, when Boyd and Ember finally let go Wow!! my kindle was on fire 🔥🔥🔥 MUST READ!
Now, can someone tell me where I can find myself a Boyd Masterson?! 🥰😍😍
Ember Thiessen had returned to Crimson Point, the place where her brother Michael and sister-in-law Lydia and several friends were murdered when she found out his dog, a corgi mix named Mozzie had been found. Knowing Mozzie was the last tie she had to Michael, she made arrangements to work remotely from Crimson Point and spend the time needed to face the nightmare of the murders. Finding out Mozzie was rescued by Boyd Masterson, the man she had literally run into the day of the murders when she went to claim her, had Ember shaking in her boots. Boyd, once a decorated military hero, is now a recluse after the military tried and failed to make him a scapegoat after a failed mission. Rescuing Mozzie and taking care of her for a few days has made him realize his need for company. When Ember’s rental floods he offers her a place to stay and soon they realize they need each other to heal their wounded hearts. After finding out that one of the men charged with the murders has escaped from custody and is now trying to tie up loose ends before returning to California, Boyd goes all out to keep Ember safe while helping her face her fears. This is the last book in the Crimson Point series and I would recommend reading all of them so you can meet the wonderful friends in the series. I am looking forward to the Crimson Point Protectors Series coming next. I received an advanced copy of this book and am willingly leaving a review.
I’m a long-time fan of romantic suspense books and Kaylea Cross. She writes edge-of-your-seat romantic thrillers I just can’t seem to get enough of. She’s on my short list of authors I will 1-click their books even without reading the blurb. With Dangerous Survivor, she takes us back to Crimson Point to tell us Ember and Boyd’s story. While this is a stand-alone title, I always recommend reading her series books in order for the absolute best experience.
I loved Ember and Boyd’s story. Crimson Point is usually the perfect place to come to heal, and for Boyd, it has been a safe haven. But for Ember, it’s the place of her worst nightmare. Between the covers of this book is plenty of action, suspense, and steamy romance. With all of my favorite characters from the previous books popping in and out of the story, I’d say this was the perfect ending to a wonderful series, and I’m a bit sad to see it all come to a close. For this romantic suspense junkie, the heart-pounding action was like the icing on top of a delicious cake––yummy and addicting. Per her usual, Kaylea Cross had me up long past my bedtime because I couldn’t put my iPad down even to sleep. She’s a favorite for a reason, and this is just one more reason why.
Ember Theissen has lived through tragedy. She returns to Crimson Point to retrieve her brother’s dog, but this is where he life was change irrevocably. Ember heals in this book, not because of Boyd, but because she has a strength and resilience that she wasn’t aware of until she got back into town.
Boyd Masterson moved to Crimson Point after the implosion of his career. He thrives in the quiet and solitary until a tiny dog changes his world. With this dog, comes Ember and what follows is an intense and instant connection that shows Boyd that maybe his solitary life isn’t the right choice. Fate has continually put Ember into Boyd’s path and he takes it as a sign that she is meant to be a part of his life. She brings a lightness back to him that he lost a long time ago.
Along with the danger that has followed Ember back to Crimson Point, we get introduced to Trave, Boyd’s son, and the heroine to her spin-off series the Crimson Point Protectors that is coming soon.
You do not need to read this series as a whole because Dangerous Survivor stand well on its own, but there are some amazing couples that you do not want to miss their stories.
If you’re in for a real page turner you definitely need to read this book! It’s fast paced and action packed, hot romance and a suspenseful plot. I loved it 😍 Dangerous survivor by Kaylea Cross is part of the Crimson Point series. Although you could read it as a stand-alone it’s advised to read the previous books because of the reappearing characters and you wouldn’t want to miss them anyway, the whole series is awesome! Boyd lives a solitary life after his military service and that’s about to change when he meets Ember. She ‘s in danger and he vows to protect her. After being the lone survivor in a terrible attack Ember returns to Crimson Point to get her brothers dog Mozzie who was found by Boyd. She wants to stay there for a while because she thinks going back to the place where the terrible shooting was is a start in the healing process. But the killer is still out there and Ember is a loose end. Will Boyd be able to protect her? I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion.
Dangerous Survivor is the last book in the Crimson Point series…but don’t despair as we have a spin-off coming from this series and the first book is Boyd’s son, Travis, whom we meet in this book❣️
Ok, enough about Travis as his book is coming so let’s focus on Boyd and Ember😁 Boyd is living in Crimson Point away from people because of something in his past. He’s ex-military and even though it doesn’t show, he has a heart of gold. Ember is a survivor from the mass murder which occurs in the previous story, when her and her hiking group stumble onto something they shouldn’t have😢 Ember returns to Crimson Point for a few reasons but the main one is to retrieve the dog which belonged to her late brother and finds her being cared for by a solitary and intense man😉
A wonderful story, with heaps of suspense and action and a few emotional moments too. I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️
Dangerous Survivor returns readers to Crimson Point for Ember and Boyd's story and it's a story full of emotion, heat and suspense.
As Ember the sole survivor of a horrific incident that saw her brother, sister-in-law and three others gunned down in front of her returns to the scene of the crime as she tries to find some semblance of peace and reunite with her brother Michael's dog Mozzie who has been missing since the night of the attack until she is rescued by local recluse and former military man Boyd.
And as the pair meet and spend time together, they find they have plenty in common and when news reaches Ember that one of the men responsible for killing her brother and the others has escaped Boyd immediately steps up to protect her.
And with plenty of familiar faces, a fast-paced storyline and some new characters this was a really enjoyable and engaging story, and I'm excited for the spin-off series which starts with Boyd's son Travis.
I've only got a few MF authors that are insta-read and Kaylea Cross is definitely one of them. I love her fast paced stories, protective males and feisty females. And this book was no different.
Ember is the sole survivor of a horendous attack. She's going back to Crimson Point to pick up her brother's dog that's been found by Boyd, ex-military who lives secluded by choice. They met briefly before Ember's attack and there was a instant awareness between them.
When Ember is attacked once again, Boyd steps up as her protector. He opens up his house as a safe place for her and their attraction is going through the roof. Boyd has a kinky side which Ember really loves😉
What we get is a fast paced story with lots of twists and turns and a beautifull love story.
We also get an introduction to Ms Cross spin-off series that will start with Boyd's son Travis. I'm already looking forward to that one with impatience.
What an end to a series. It had all the elements I've loved in it from the suspense and fear to the complete and utter claiming and protectiveness. It was intense and emotional with wonderful characters who actually feel like my friends as I've been so invested in them. Ember so brave to go back to the worst horror of her life, little Mozzie, so scared but she survived however she was able until Boyd manages to catch and help her. I really felt that this outcome was the very best especially for her, she had grown to trust and adore Boyd and it would have been cruel to take her from the little stability she had since that awful night. And Boyd! What a hero he turned out to be, not just from his military career but in everything he did in this story. We get a few bits of the other Crimson Point characters but most of this is centred on Boyd, Ember and Mozzie, plus we get to meet Travis, Boyd' S son. Hair-raising car chase nearly had me over the edge myself.
Ember was the only survivor in attack that killed her brother, sister-in-law, and several other hikers. She returns to Crimson Point to face her demons and hopefully put them to rest. Boyd is former military and built his cabin and became a recluse. Ember’s cabin floods and Boyd offers to let her stay with him. When she finds out that one of the killers has escaped from jail and is probably coming after her, Boyd reinforces all his security. Boyd is so used to being alone but Ember brings something out in him. Will she stay after the danger is gone or will she go back to Cali?
Great story. Plenty of action to keep you interested. The only thing I’m not a fan of, is there are way to many point of views. Boyd is a sexy, recluse. Ember is beautiful and is trying to put the past behind her.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for the author *
I absolutely adored this story, so much so that I couldn't not add it to my top reads of '22 list. This book will prove exactly why this author is at the top of her game, talent oozes from the pages amongst the bullets flying and blood shed. I think it's almost impossible for her to write a bad book. I loved this couple, both together and apart they were definitely inspiring, but do they end up getting the happiness they both deserve, or are there too many foes wanting to tie up loose ends? Highly recommend that you one click to find out, especially if you've read the rest of the series, as it felt really good being immersed back in Crimson Point despite all the danger that was yet again lurking.
This was an amazing suspenseful love story with two people, Ember and Boyd finding each other and healing from the dramatic events that could of ruined their lives forever. Their unlikely love form each other became intertwined when Boyd found Ember wandering in shock after she survived when her brother and his wife were killed by humane traffickers when they innocently stumbled upon them when they were hiking. This is the beginning of this fabulous love story as Boyd saves Ember when these killers come back and try to kill her again. This story has nonstop action and romance as Boyd and Ember get their happily ever after. I highly recommend this book and series.
The lone survivor of a horrific event looking for peace, closure, safety and maybe something more…a lost and afraid pup looking for a home…and the dark, deadly, handsome recluse who gives them everything they want, need and more. Dangerous Survivor, the final book in the Crimson Point series gives you all this and more. Add in all of the beloved characters from the series and you have the perfect formula for a truly awesome book and a beautifully wrapped up series. Suspense, laughter, romance, danger and love made Dangerous Survivor a book that I just couldn’t put down. Can’t wait to see what Cross has next up her sleeve.
WOW! Another FANTASTIC story by Kaylea! We finally get to see Boyd come out of his self-imposed reclusiveness. Boyd was able to capture Mozzie - such a cute gal. Ember was so happy that she would have a piece of her brother back in her life. Mozzie basically brought these two together. Ember was not out of the woods yet because people still wanted her gone. The last couple of chapters were intense! Once the bad guys were eliminated, these two finally confessed their love for each other and started working on their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Kaylea! I would recommend this book.
Boyd and Ember story was exceptional! Here we have Boyd who lives further out of town and that's on purpose. He has not been able to overcome the shame that he endured. He does have a couple of friends who knows his true story who live in town and he's more than willing to help when needed. How fortunate for Boyd to capture the animal who has been terrorizing his chickens! He gets so much more when that happens.
Ember needs to return to the town where she lost everything. It has not been that long but she knows in order to move forward she has to.
Just saying any book that has me sobbing, needing multiple tissues is beyond good and this was more than that! The whole bringing the series to a summary, don't want to say end because the next generation is coming, but I need a Boyd in my life!! I cannot wait to read the new Crimson Point adventures, if you love mystery, romance, intrigue, alpha guys brought to their knees by finding their sole mate, gorgeous setting to oh any so well written what more could a book lover need - oh yes a Boyd, or Jase, Ryder, Beckett or Mac.........read in order you won't be sorry!
Boyd and Ember. Burnt by those he served and she lived through a horrific crime. Brought together by a pup they quickly realize a strong attraction and their journey to each other and a HEA take off. All members of the town are present and loving as always. The painting events with the women, the growth of Backetts company and the care of Noah’s’ Sherriff department was great to see and helped build some details for how the spin-off with Travis started! As always the story is colorful and the town/landscaping sounds amazing. It was a story with some heavy topics but also full of brotherhood, love and family. A great town and series!
This book is so worth more than 5 stars from the beginning to the end it is intriguing full of Suspense plenty of romance and humour at times.Ember returns to crimson Point to confront her demons hoping to move on. Collecting her brothers dog who is living with Boyd till she pick her up.s Boyd has his demons after The way the was made to leave the services . When Ember finds her self in danger Boyd is there to help her, they find themselves attracted to each other and their romance blossoms. Brilliant book
The "wrapup" of Danae and Ryder's story includes Ember and Boyd. Crimson Point is still reeling from the multiple murders and human trafficking ring that exploded not so long ago.
Ember needed closure and returned to Crimson Point where her friends and her brother & sister in law's dog was found after running wild since their murder. And she meets Boyd, who had caught Mozzie and got her all fixed up.
Watching Ember and Boyd get to know each other and fall in love was so much fun. I just get sad when Kaylea Cross' books end.
Yes! I've been trying to read this one all year, had it out from the library a few times. Finally, I have read and enjoyed it. It was good to see all the people I've come to love in Crimson Point as well as some of their pets. Boyd and Ember were hot together. The danger ratcheted up the pace. We also get introduced to Boyd's son Travis who is the guy in the first book in the spin-off series, Falling Hard. This was a fun read but I didn't feel a strong connection with the two main characters.
The story of Boyd and Ember is one of tragedy, sorrow, horror, friendship, kindness, forgiveness, and most of all love. It takes the strength of one woman who met with tragedy one night but came back to face that night and move on. It takes the strength of a man who has faced adversity and come out the other side to help her move on. This was a book I didn’t want to put down.
