Derrick the incubus stole Tessa’s magic and everything is wrong. Her boyfriend is out of town and an attempt to retrieve her magic has disastrous results. Gads, Tessa seems to get herself in one pickle after another.
Despite everyone telling her to accept a life without magic, Tessa is determined to fix it. Oh boy, twists, deals and mishaps await you. I was quite curious to see how it all worked out.
The tale offered plenty of humor from a Merlin test to a horny goddess. It delivered plenty of punch and even the aunts made me chuckle. Tessa, for all her growth as a witch/merlin, still struggles with her impulsive nature. Somehow she gets the job done though and her heart is always in the right place, making her likeable.
Romantic developments, quibbles, and tangos with Lucifer kept me listening. Let’s just say there is never a dull moment in Hollow Cove. The story has a cozy paranormal vibe that I recommend listening to in the order of its release.
Devon Sorvari brings all the characters to life and captures Tessa’s snarky attitude. The story lends itself to the audiobook format and enhances the tale This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Due to her stupidity, Tessa loses her magic.. now she’s sooo obsessed with getting it back she does more dangerous things that puts her best friend’s life in danger; betrays someone who’s helped her and is a general awful person. If not for the secondary characters, these books would be off my shelf all because of the way Tessa is written

Another fun read, leading right off where the last book ended. Tessa Davenport finds herself in a bit of a pickle (again) The Gods Lucifer & Lilith are fighting & Tessa is smack bang in the middle. Lots of fun looking forward to the next book.

what’s not to love
This book was so amazing. Kim Richardson doesn’t disappoint with her story telling and strong female influence. I can’t wait for the next book. I hope it’s soon!

Tessa without her magic was actually kind of heartbreaking because she was both so focused on getting it back but also dealing with the fact that if she can't find a way to have her magic returned, she'll have to move forward as part of a community that has some kind of paranormal something while hers was stolen.
I didn't love the whole situation with Marcus - from leaving, and everything that happened while he was gone, to him putting Allison in charge of teaching Tessa some self-defense. The fact that he seems so blind to the animosity between Tessa and Allison is really head-scratching because I can get, the 'but she's not been terrible to me' so I'll let her continue working at the station with me. But actively putting them together when he KNOWS because Tessa hasn't exactly been silent about her feelings toward Allison, is just poor character personality. And I find what Allison did to her completely wrong and unprofessional - and even worse, she NEVER got put to task for what she did which is even worse.
I feel like it's almost a cop-out that the author never has Allison responsible for her own actions when it comes to Tessa. Because it means she can keep Allison around to continue to be that enemy against Tessa, but in reality, a good CHIEF OF THE TOWN and boyfriend, would never let as much shit as Allison has done to Tessa stand.
The four stars comes because I love the back and forth between Tessa and Lilith, and the decisions toward the goddess at the end of the book. I think that relationship has been portrayed fairly well. Lilith is a little more sexualized and less... anything else, but otherwise I liked that part of the story line.
Which also means I will continue on to the next book.

Even though the last book was a win over Derrick, for Tessa it changes everything. Lucifer used Derrick to take her magic and unfortunately Lilith can't give it back.
Her aunts won't give up and have Tessa trying to make potions, she never was good at them but without magic it's just a waste of ingredients and time.
Greta and her Merlin committee are also coming to test her magic, or rather her lack of it, something Tessa is not looking forward to.
In response to that Marcus has done the unthinkable and assigned Allison to train her in self-defense, and without her magic, that turns into a disaster. Then to top it off Marcus disappears again.
Tessa's desperate to get her magic back and Iris is going to help her by summoning Derrick and doing a transference spell. This goes horribly wrong as does the Merlin testing.
When Lilith shows up, Tessa unloads on her and then Lilith takes her to Marcus, that doesn't go as planned either.
Lilith sends her back home, and it's Beltane. Tessa's only hope of getting her magic back now is her father. Obiryn doesn't give her much hope but agrees to try and find Derrick.
The big surprise is after talking with her father is returning to her room to find Lucifer there. He has only one request of her, turn Lilith over to him and he'll give her magic back.
What could possibly go wrong...
Marcus does return, but these two have a lot to figure out, plus the whole Lucifer thing.
I couldn't put this book down, there's a lot of pain and emotion, romance and that perfect touch of heat.

In addition to those losses, her boyfriend Marcus disappears without a word. Tessa is in full meltdown mode and she and bestie Iris summon the demon who stole her powers, but that also turns to, ah, kaka and iris ends up in the magical medical center in emergency care.
Stripped of almost everyone she loves and at her lowest, Tessa doesn’t think it can get worse and then it DOES. Lucifer shows up with an ultimatum - turn Lilith over to him and she can have her magic back.
Oooooooooo boyyyyy. Guess what the alternative is?????? Hmmmmmmm…terrific heroine and main character, excellent love interest and supporting characters that are warm and endearing with villains we all lovvvvve to hate.
Here’s the thing. Tessa genuinely cares for Lilith. Her family genuinely cares for Lilith. The solution and ending is fascinating and remarkable and an absolutely worthwhile read!

Perfectly Jinxed
Am totally in love with this series of Hollow Cove Books, it’s been a while since I had opened one of these books but when the time came to finally read them again the memories of the other books came flooding back into my mind and heart with joy. Then this book was so much more enjoyable than the others with the same characters and as much fun and excitement. The humor is so great that I couldn’t stop reading it and the story was so well written that I couldn’t put it down.
What a great storyline. Can’t wait for more of this series. Highly recommend this series for anyone over 18 years old. It’s not a bad series but it’s a bit more adult than I would recommend for a young adult or a kid.

This book was action packed from the very beginning. Marcus disappeared when Tessa needed him most. When she finally found him, he was involved in wereape politics. I was a little disappointed by his actions in this book as he didn’t seem to have Tessa’s best interests at heart. Without giving away a spoiler, I about banged my head with one or two of his actions.
Tessa found a way to get her magic back, but at a cost. Loved her determination and her character traits to do the right thing. Definitely looking forward to the next book because We got a hint at the end of this book of what it will be about.

This was a pretty good plot for this chapter. There were some good action points and character turmoil that unfortunately did not help our main character grow - LOL, but at least it was good to read.
This story did leave some unanswered questions but it did not end on a cliffhanger so hopefully we get some resolution in the next chapter.
There was more focus on the sex scenes which I hope does not turn into even more focus on that because it's getting a little nostalgic of a reverse harem novel.
Other than that, it was a good read.

Another action packed and thrilling adventure with Tessa. She gets her magic back and continues to grow into it and kick butt when needed. Tessa and Marcus have a few things to work out and hopefully they can mend their relationship.
Filled with suspense, mystery and twists and turns we never see coming, this is one series that continually keeps me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what could possibly happen next with Tessa.

Whew!! That was explosive!
I can't believe everything that Tessa went through but so glad she came out of it the way she did! The Davenport witches and their friends are forces to be reckoned with, even with the king and queen of Hell. Can't wait to see what Hollow Cove conjures up next.

Great Book
In the last book the heroine lost her powers. This book continues with her efforts to get her powers back and deal with the aftermath of no longer being a shadow witch. This was a great story. It had an ending that raised my eyes wide open and I had a WTF moment. Great ending. Lots of action. Some angst and some loss. Oh, and that WTF moment. On to the next book.

I couldn't put this one down. I finished book 9 at 11 p.m. last night and immediately started book 10. I finished it today. It was great. I'm starting book 11 this evening and then I have to wait until February 28 for book 12. Ugh! The suspense will make me crazy!

I was all in for this series, until this book. The author lost me when Marcus set Tessa up with gorilla barbie to spar. I was totally here for the love story between Marcus and Tessa, but it just got sadistic on his part. No longer interested in finishing the series.

Oh this is soo good. Its crazy , funny ,and sassy. Tessa really went all out to mess herself up and now had to figure a way out . I will say she gets herself into a mess but she gets herself out of it too.
