Better-ish webnovel-esque with misleading theme. Slightly overpriced.
This story is obviously a translation of a Chinese web story. It has lots of moderate to small chapters, many splitting scenes. That's not a complaint. Just an observation. I'm used to the medium.
However, the translation quality is just so-so as far professional translations go. It's exactly webnovel quality. You can understand it most the time but sometimes the wording or phrasing loses me. I usually can work past it though. Some he/she flips and so on as well.
The story quality is decent... for the context. I normally wouldn't spend money on a novel this short with this quality. I would say that this book almost qualifies for the $3 I paid for it. Though I'm personally unwilling to spend anymore money on this series. Over half the book did not take place in the apocalypse or with zombies. It also struggled to progress in the aspects I desired. Most the time was spent creating problems in the 'normal' world for the MC to show off and solve. What little zombie action we got was partially a cheap resident evil fanfic. Not what I was looking for in this particular series. Also, plenty of ego stroking without being quite as unbearably obnoxious as many other Chinese novels.
All in all worth a read if the price still sounds worth it. Think of it in terms of usual webnovel content and quality.
For me,
Either drop the price to $2.50 or less a book or put it on kindle unlimited. That's the only way I continue it on kindle. And it's a maybe at $2.50.
PS- WEBNOVEL is always overpriced.
