I found this book extremely helpful and full of practical suggestions. It describes itself as a workbook complete with exercises and journaling prompts for each of its fifteen survival tools. So many books in this genre are just setups to get you to buy something else. Not so here. There are end-of-chapter suggestions that I put to use immediately. It covers everything from creating boundaries to how to start a covert job search.

It is evident that Dr. Baker is someone who has "been through the wringer" in more than one toxic workplace as both an employee and a manager. She shares what she learned that allowed her to come out the other side "mostly" intact. While the book is primarily for an employee, there is a section that offers help for managers and/or leaders.

I thoroughly enjoyed this workbook and will return to it in the future to track progress and refresh my approach as needed.

Bottom line? I highly recommend this book. It is an easy read, encouraging, hope-filled, practical, and very useful. I own a paperback version. I really like holding a book.
