The Brodie Brothers #3

Good Vibrations

Rate this book
A former model, a grumpy lawyer, and a single dad walk into an audition for a children's musical… They’re all Miles Brodie. It’s only cute if you aren’t the director who’s being bribed to cast his daughter.

DEAR MS. CROSS,

Re: Our discussion

1. True. Casting my daughter as the lead in your musical could be considered bribery if people find out I’m investing in it, but no one needs to know.
2. I only want to hire you as Macy’s singing coach so her vocal skills will improve.
3. Maybe if you’d spent less time surfing and more on your singing career, you wouldn’t be in this financial predicament.
4. Re. your living situation—my neighbor has a guest house. If you cast Macy as Alice, I will pay for your first three months’ rent.

Do we have a deal?

Best regards,
Miles Brodie

DEAR MR. BRODIE,

1. It absolutely is bribery, but I absolutely need that money for my production. Thanks!
2. It is very cute that you will do anything to get Macy this part, but I would only coach that sweet child as a favor to all mammals with functional hearing.
3. If I spend less time surfing, will you spend less time jogging on my beach with your shirt off?
4. You want to pay me to live next door so you don’t have to drive anywhere to frown at me?
5. I have another condition for casting Macy as Alice—you have to perform the part of the Cheshire Cat.

Purrrrrrr,
Aria

Amazon Top 25 and USA Today bestselling author Kayley Loring spent many years as a screenwriter (under a different name) in Los Angeles before moving to the Pacific Northwest to live out her childhood dream of being a Disney heroine who talks and sings to woodland creatures. When not trying to keep animals alive, she’s writing steamy romantic comedy novels, obviously. She’s breathing cleaner air, writing dirtier words, and staring at her computer screen until her eyeballs dry out instead of prancing around Southern California in miniskirts and going to the hair salon. Still waiting for the woodland creatures to clean her house, though.

Read or listen to Kayley’s books when you want humor, heat, and heart. You’ll enjoy top-notch banter, strong heroines, lovable characters you’d want to know in real life and you’ll swoon over perfectly imperfect book boyfriends. All Kayley Loring books are steamy open door romance. Be sure to check out her next-level audiobooks!

"You were never a collection of problems that needed to be solved, Aria. You were the solution.”
The hardest books to review are the ones you truly love. To say I love this book is the biggest understatement I've ever written. Nothing I write seems to be enough.

Kayley Loring’s books for me are like coming home. Every. Single. Time. I don’t know how she does it, but they wrap me up in a fuzzy blanket to keep me warm if it’s winter, and throw me in the pool to freshen up if it’s summer. Regardless of the season, they just leave me there with All. The. Freaking. Feels and tears in my eyes.
Please note: I can’t swim, but I’m still OK with being thrown in the pool in this situation.
And also, disclaimer: I’m not complaining, simply stating facts.

Miles has not only stolen my heart. He’s taken all of me.

”This woman will be the end of me, but she should be the beginning.”
I’m going to start with Aria because I feel like she could be my BFF and maybe teach me how to surf. And swim. And how to bounce back. And how just to live life the way she does, taking hits but still believing in people, still opening up to people, and still caring. She knows she can get hurt, but she still gives so much of herself. Like all of Kayley’s heroines, there’s not a weak bone in her body.

”You. It’s always you. Even when I don’t want to think about you, it’s you.”
I could write a college essay on Miles, but I’ll sum it up in one word: perfect. Everybody knows how much I love the grumpy, growly heroes, but…. He’s the guy you can count on, the one who won’t leave you behind, and the one who’ll always be there for you. And in all his cluelessness, he doesn’t even realize how perfect he is. In fact, he sees himself as flawed and deep down I think he’s convinced himself he’ll end up alone.
Think again, Mr. Brodie.

”Aria has had a firm grip on my balls for three long years and she’s never even touched them.”
Sparks fly when Miles and Aria first meet, but he can’t pursue her because of… reasons. Plus, she’s also a surfer girl who seems to throw caution to the wind, a flower child, and he’s a big shot lawyer who needs to be in control. And yet, control slips away a bit whenever he thinks about her. It slips away a great deal when he starts showing up where she hangs out because he just needs to. And it slips away completely when he hires her as Macy’s, his daughter’s, vocal coach.
There is not enough duct tape in the world to hold him in control anymore.

”I feel nothing and everything. There’s no word I can give to this feeling, so I’ll call it Aria. It’s Aria.”
Trust me when I say that Aria has her work cut out for her with Macy. Just like she has her work cut out with her grumpy-ass dad, who is infuriatingly protective of his child, and melts my heart along the way for that same reason. He melts my everything with small gestures that are just… I can’t even.
He also melts some of my clothing items for totally different reasons.

”Nearly every minute that she’s not with me is defined by her absence now.”
There’s so much chemistry between the two of them, and so much tension. I loved the will-they-won’t-they. I wanted to push them together, because come on! I loved how they seem to be so different but complement each other in every way that matters.
Their story is slow burn, but when things get hot… they’re scorching. I’m just going to say… the garage scene. It’s Kayley’s sexiest book to date, and I, for one, wouldn’t have it any other way. It fits who they are individually, what their relationship is, and who they are together. And what I needed.

”Even though I have never in my life thought about what kind of engagement ring I’d want, I know the second I see it that I want that one.”
You get to see plenty of the Brodie family, and their hilarious text convos and autocorrect mistakes by Mama Brodie. You even get to see characters from another series making an appearance. But, most importantly, you see a little girl having the chance to make her dreams come true after trying so hard, and a real shot at happiness for two people who deserve it so, so much.

The epilogues… I cried the first time I read them, and I can quote bits of them. They really meant something to me. The whole book did.

”Ever since we met at the beach, you’re all I see when I close my eyes.”
This is a story about how we all need someone to put a song in our hearts, or to make us feel like singing at the top of our lungs. Because that's what happens when love is real.
And Miles… He may not have climbed the highest mountains, or run to the fields to be with Aria, but he did everything else. And he finally found what he was looking for.

And I suppose… So did I with this book. Thank you, Kayley.

Sweet savory peaches and cream! Good Vibrations by Kayley Loring was a delightful, hilarious ducking fun time that I absolutely consumed in one sitting. This book brought on all those summer loving vibes and will put your heart in a deliciously good mood. I have adored each and every Brodie brothers book, but Miles may just be my favorite! Who knew Mr. Grumpy McGrumperson had such a demanding passionate loving side! (He can cook, and say spicy Jabberwocky inuindoes to me anytime.) Plus, his adoration and devotion to his daughter was the epitome of single dad swoon! I loved that Aria wasn’t afraid to ask point-blank for what she desired, and Miles in return knew how to deliver. Their chemistry was a little bit forbidden, magnetic, and undeniable!

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you love a laugh-out-loud romcom with a broody hunky lawyer, a blonde fierce surfer playwright, an Alice in Wonderland diva, a grinning Cheshire Cat, haikus, witty original songs, hilarious text exchanges from Mama Brodie and the whole family, fart jokes (duh), all the California beach vibes, garage steamy times, and a HEA that will leave you with all the good feels, then you will adore Miles and Aria’s book! I always look forward to more from Kayley Loring, and I can’t wait to hear some my favorite narrators bring this story to life in audio!

**Audio Review**

Sweet, hilarious audio perfection! Good Vibrations by Kayley Loring in audio was even better than I could have ever imagined. Kayley’s audios are simply a romcom movie for your ears! Jason Clarke’s performance of Miles brought out all his grumpy broody charm that made him even more difficult to resist! We can all claim Miles right?! Plus, Jason’s range and ability to fully capture all things Miles (from the accents to the SINGING) made my heart melt. Mackenzie Cartwright was an absolute DREAM as Aria. She stunned me with her ability to not only portray passionate go-getter Aria, but also bring lovable Macy and the infamous Mama Brodie to life! Mackenzie’s singing was AMAZING even when at times it was supposed to be bad!

Teddy Hamilton, Zachary Webber, Emma Wilder, Emily Woo Zeller, and Connor Crais were the perfect supporting cast! The laugh-out-loud text exchanges with the Brodies, Mad Hatter and March Hare rap, kid shenanigans, Mathew McConaughey impression and Drew Barrymore voice message were the icing on the cake for a unique one of a kind audio experience you can only get from Kayley Loring!

A former model, a single dad, and a grumpy lawyer finally get their book… they’re all Miles Brodie… and they were so freaking worth waiting for! Kayley Loring knows her characters, and in Good Vibrations she brings out their beautiful voices and personalities, in more ways than one. If you’ve read the first two books in the Brodie Brothers series, you’ll likely expect this book to have epic group texts, a tiny bit of angst, precocious and endearing characters, and a well-earned HEA. And you would be correct. But you’re also going to get a beautiful look into the depth of what makes Loring a true one-click wonder.
Loring’s character development is incredibly strong in Good Vibrations. It’s not just the words and actions surrounding them, it’s the way she uses internal monologue to build and define Miles and Aria. It’s the subtle shift in their tones and language and they grow and develop through the story. It’s the authentic and honest dialogue between not just Miles and Aria, but the other characters in their world as well. Yes, this is a rom-com, but it also has beautifully deep elements of acceptance and personal acknowledgement that will have you wanting to hug, smack, and be part of the cast with Miles, Aria, and even Macy.
And, oh yeah, it’s definitely a rom-com. A snort-laugh, fan yourself, steamy gigglefest that brings the heat, heart, and plenty of ha-has. I honestly scared the dog awake several times laughing (thanks Mama Brodie!), and I was smiling so much while reading I believe The Hubster has added this one to his Kindle list as well.
As of the date I’m writing this, the audiobook hasn’t been released yet. But that absolutely did not stop me from hearing Jason Clarke in my head while I was reading the book. That’s how ingrained and authentic this book is to Miles Brodie’s character from the past 2 books. And I can’t wait to hear Aria in Mackenzie Cartwright’s voice, bringing this wonderful story to life in my mind again. If you haven’t read the first 2 books in the Brodie Brothers series yet, I highly recommend doing that before diving into Good Vibrations. For 1, they’re incredibly hilarious in their own rights. But even more so, having even that little glimpse into Miles Brodie from those 2 books will make Good Vibrations even more meaningful, enjoyable, and hilarious.
The only thing I’m sad about is saying goodbye to these wonderful characters now that all 3 brothers have their stories told. Well, I guess that’s what re-reads and audiobook binges are for. And I will be re-reading and listening to them often, because they are exactly the perfectly amusingly amazing books for when I need spit-take level hilarity with read-in-front-of-an-open-freezer level heat, and I’m-not-sniffling- you’re-sniffling heart.

5 star Review Good Vibrations (The Brodie Brothers #3) by Kayley Loring

Having read and really enjoyed a number of books by Kayley Loring I was excited to read Good Vibrations (if only I could get the Beach Boys song out of my head). From the first chapter I was drawn to Miles Brodie and Aria Cross’ story. Add in that Miles is a grumpy single dad and for me it was a win/win.

There is something about Kayley Loring’s style of writing, her characters are easy to relate to and charismatic and her stories are witty. In fact I often find myself laughing out loud like a lunatic.

The chemistry between Miles and Aria was intense. I fell hard and fast for Miles, despite his gruff exterior he is swoon worthy and captured my heart. Whilst Aria is such a great woman who I could easily see as a friend, she is strong and she lives life to the best of her abilities.

The balance between heat, romance and humour is one that Kayley Loring has no trouble blending. I also loved the relationship that developed between Aria and Macy it melted my heart .

Deliciously weird and super sexy, this single dad romance had me laughing within minutes and smiling the whole way through - exactly the kind of low angst, funny read that I love from Loring. If you're new to the series, then you'll be missing out on some hysterical family moments (and two other great rom coms), but you shouldn't have any trouble following along with the love story. It's instalove followed by three years of longing for these two near-strangers, so the ZAP of connection is instantaneous and powerful. Their chemistry was excellent (with some seriously fan-worthy moments!), and there are SO MANY funny scenes that kept me laughing and loving the story. If you're looking for something lighthearted and smile-inducing, then look no further.

The story follows Miles, a single dad who loves his daughter fiercely. And what does his daughter love? Singing and acting - she wants to be a star. Sounds great, except... even this grumpy lawyer doesn't have the heart to tell his daughter that she's TERRIBLE at both. So when Miles' daughter has an audition with the sexy former child star who has been starring in his dirty dreams, Miles can't seem to help himself and he strikes up a deal that works for everyone. The only problem is that Aria is just as off-limits now as she was when they met three years ago, and spending time together does nothing to flame out those fantasies.

This has been such a fun series, and this quirky, easygoing installment was another fantastic one. Sure, the relationship has some pacing issues, but those faded into the background with my complete and total enjoyment of the rest of the story. It's funny and STEAMY, with undeniable heat between these two. I loved that they've both been infatuated for so long, and it was like flipping a switch once they got together. There's very minimal angst, which made this such a feel good read. If you're a fan of single dads, then you're going to absolutely MELT for the sweet, swoony moments between Miles and his daughter. If I've got one complaint, it'd be that I never want to hear the word "woman-child" used again, certainly not by somebody who will one day braid his lover's hair. But... I digress. I can't remember the last book that kept me smiling this much, and that is always a very, very good thing. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy, and am voluntarily leaving a review of this cute and comedic romance.

Sweet, fun, steamy, and totally heart melty - Good Vibrations has the perfect blend of grumpy-protective, single dad who meets his match in a sunshiny, potential-crusher-of-his-child's dreams. So many LOL mixed with swoony moments.

Miles is a divorced, single father who is very supportive of his little girl. The only thing Macy wants most in life is to star in a musical, she only has one teeny-tiny problem, she scream SINGS. Macy is truly adorable and Miles loves her unconditionally and never wants her to stop pushing for her dreams, even if she might not be the best, which just makes him extra swoony. When Miles discovers that his three year crush, Aria Cross, is directing the next musical that Macy is auditioning for he pulls out all the stops and works his grumpy magic to make it happen.

Aria Cross may be an ex-Disney child star, but now she's more focused on her directing child musical's career. She's been lusting after Miles and his shirtless running self for the past three years and when he asks to cast his daughter as Alice in her next musical, well...at first she's taken aback, until she realizes she has an opportunity to work with the man himself...say hello to Cheshire Cat.

Not only is Miles sweetly grumpy - I know what a strange combo, but it totally works for him, plus he's a really good dad. Aria doesn't stand a chance around him. I mean Miles fell for her three years ago, so he never really stood a chance when it came to her bubbly personality, but can these two work with everything else that is working against them?

Join in on all the hilarious Brodie family fun, the insane texting conversations, and all the melty flirtation. This is the final Brodie brother book, but can be read as a complete standalone.

"A former model, a grumpy lawyer, and a single dad walk into an audition for a children's musical... and they're all Miles Brodie."

Dear Miles,

I have been loving your grumpy self ever since you showed up when I met your brother Owen. I wanted to clock you for being so mean to Dylan on Thanksgiving... and then you sang about how "you still hadn't found what you were looking for". We got a hint of Aria then, but now she finally smacked you right in the feels, huh? You are a devoted dad to Macy, to the point of bulldozing your way (and hers) into a children's musical... You are loyal, hence you staying away -sorta-from her for THREE YEARS because she was your client's ex...

But then she came full force into your life and she has to deal with your grumpy, arrogant self. She has to deal with Macy, whose "dulcet tones" are a danger to human ears, but mostly because she is (and always will be) your number 1 girl.

So when you decided to play the Cheshire Cat in the musical, you melted my heart. And I loved being inside your head! Your inner monologues are just hilarious! F*ck your life! lol

And yes, Miles, if you are wondering if you won me over, yes, yes, you did you naughty man.

Love,

Monica

OMG, this book! Oh how I love how Kayley Loring writes! This was the perfect ending for the series (though in the same fashion of The Lazy Wingmen, I hope the Brodies keep popping up in future books). Miles’ journey was just perfect! Aria (I love her name in the group text! lol) is tailor-made for Grumpy McPoppiehead! Macy is such an annoyingly adorable character and I loved how she was instrumental in helping her dad find true love!

The epilogues by Dylan and Owen... The ending of the book... Everything is just what I was hoping for and more! And I am not ashamed to say I cried a little because I won't be seeing the Brodies as much anymore. Judge me. I don't care.

I am waiting with bated breath for the audiobook. I suspect "death by Jason Clarke" will be a thing. Just sayin'

Thank you, @kayleyloring, for the ARC.

Miles is a grumpy entertainment lawyer and a single dad. Aria is a ray of sunshine, a former child star and currently directing a musical that Miles’ daughter has a role in.

The banter and the chemistry between Miles and Aria is off the charts. I love that Aria wasn’t afraid to just go for it. She wasn’t afraid to say what she wanted and she wasn’t afraid to go for it. I love how Miles is grumpy, but he is a great dad and will go to great lengths to make sure his daughter, Macy, is happy.

There is just so much to love about this book. I love the progression of the relationship between Miles and Aria. I love that there wasn’t a bunch of unnecessary drama and miscommunication. There is some steam and plenty of laughs. Good Vibrations is truly a feel good book in so many ways.

I am pretty sure I could read an entire book of the Brodie family texting conversations because they had me DYING of laughter. Especially Mama Brodie.

If you’re looking for a single dad, grumpy/sunshine, rom com this is one to check out.

Oh, those wonderful Brodie brothers. Miles, Miles, Miles, no wonder you've been grumpy for as long as you have. Readers, buckle up! Miles Brodie is about to charm the pants off you with his brown-eyed hilarious self-talk, his devotion to his daughter Macy, and his naughty mouth.

Miles has been dealing with high business standards and unrequited love/lust for sunny surfer gal Aria--who just happens to be a former Disney star. Aria is now the playwright of a children's theater rendition of Alice in Wonderland. Miles' daughter Macy DESPERATELY wants to be in the show. Unfortunately, Macy approaches her singing and acting like a lion taking down a wildebeest. Go loud and aggressive, or go home. Miles does some wheeling and dealing, including agreeing to be the Cheshire Cat to get Macy the part. It's a hilarious and fun journey from there as we see Miles come out from his grumpy cloud.

The rest of the Brodie family provide hilarious text conversations, including Momma Brodie's infamous autocorrect and Pops Brodie's Matthew McConaughey's "all right, all right, all right" and taking away Momma Brodie's phone. I have loved this series so much, and the epilogues were joyous but bittersweet but brilliant because it was all tied up so well. You have to listen to all these books on audio because-- BRILLIANT! Kayley Loring continues to set an incredibly high bar for romantic comedy that is witty, sharp, and unique.

Kayley Loring is an evil, emotion-manipulating, ducking genius! And I mean that in the very best way! Did I mention this is a rom-com?

Kayley fans have been waiting (mostly) patiently for the final Brodie brother’s story for a bit and she did not disappoint! I knew from Owen’s story, Funny Business, that Miles Brodie was going to be a special one. He’s sarcastic and grumpy and the only thing he loves more than his parents and giving his brothers a hard time is his daughter, Macy. Then he meets the woman that starts to make him feel alive again. Which only makes him grumpier because he knows he can’t pursue her, but that doesn’t mean he won’t keep “seeing” her.

Aria is a former Disney channel star who could have had a lucrative career in music and as an actor, but gave it up for a simpler life working in children’s theater. She has written and is about to direct her first musical for a local community theater, an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, when the man she met three years ago and has been low-key stalking her ever since negotiates a deal for her to cast his daughter as the lead. His daughter who does not sing so much as yells and is far too serious for an eight-year-old. Aria’s counter-offer? Miles has to play the Cheshire Cat.

This story has Kayley’s trademark humor and heart and the steam and chemistry between Miles and Aria is off the charts! But there is also an undertone of longing: for Macy to feel good enough to earn the lead role, for Aria to know that she’s important enough to be a priority in someone’s life, and for Miles to know how to make a woman want to stay with him.

I cannot wait to hear how this is translated to audio! Kayley’s books become audio masterpieces and I love how she dedicated this book to one of her long-time narrators as well as the Macy’s of the world.

Ooohhh Miles Brodie!

When good vibrations make more than just good music, you're sure to have a Kayley Loring book in hand.

Once again we have a Brodie brother that sets our hearts beating just a little bit faster and it seems that Miles is a better comedian than his brother, although I don't think he means to be so.

The story of Miles and Aria will bring joy to your heart and frustration to your soul as Miles, Aria and Macy attempt to intertwine their lives together.

I love the circumstances that bring this duo together and how Miles rises to the challenge set.

I can't say anything else without spoiling the story, so you are going to have to read it for yourselves.

Another swoon worthy Brodie brother off the market!!

KAYLEY LORING HAS DONE IT AGAIN.

This is third and final installment of The Brodie Brothers series and it did not disappoint!

In the first two books of the series, we meet Miles Brodie, brother to Owen and Dylan Brodie. Miles is a retired model and current lawyer to entertainment lawyer to the stars. Miles is also a divorced father to 8 year old Macy. He is also known as the grump of the family.

Aria, the female MC, is a sunshine surfer/former Disney child star/child musical director. Aria is just trying to get by with her new passion of writing and directing plays.

Miles and Aria meet three years prior for a brief moment on the beach. They talk and realize that they have one person in common who makes a potential relationship between them off limits. For three years, they see each other weekly on the beach and at the coffee shop, but have no communication with each other.

Fast forward to the present and Aria is the writer and director of the current play that Macy, Miles’s daughter, wants to star in. The trouble is, Macy has no singing abilities. Miles just wants the best for Macy and will anything in his power to get her that part. When Aria agrees to the terms for Macy to star in the play, Miles and Aria are forced together and their feelings that they’ve both been suppressing, for years, for each come to light.

Will they be able to overcome the one obstacle that has been in the way from the start? Will the play come between them since Macy is the star?

As usual, I absolutely loved the banter between the main characters! Loring really knows how to write witty, sarcastic verbiage and I am just here for it.

My favorite thing was the text messages and emails between the Brodie family and also between Aria and Miles. The texts specifically had my laughing out loud. This just seems like the type of family that anyone would want to be a part of. Can I become an adoptive Brodie sibling just to get in on those group texts?!

While I am sad that the series is coming to an end, Miles and Aria’s story really left it on a high note!

NOW LIVE!!!!

"I´m allowing myself to touch her, there is no other way to hold on to her. Like she´s mine.Like I´ll never let go."

Miles Brodie is MINE!!!! (Yes Kayley…bring it on!!) She knows what I’m talking about don’t worry.

Ok, so you know that family where the mom (who still hasn’t got the hang of texting) and the coolest dad ever have three hot sons, but somehow, they all think they are damaged because they haven’t found their happily ever after?

Well, this is like that but so much hotter and sweeter, The Brodie Brothers series has finally come to an end, Miles Brodie´s turn is just around the corner, but things are not easy, there are so many reasons why he really shouldn’t get involved with the only woman who has managed to park in his head and won’t leave, after his divorce he really thought he wouldn’t find the one, but what do you know…Aria is there in plain sight and ready to accept the bribery he’s offering just so his daughter can finally have a chance in a musical.

-What to expect:
Standalone in an interconnected series
Rom-com
Single Dad
A hot, talented and easygoing heroine
A really sweet girl who cannot for the life of her sing or dance
Text convos between family that will have you crackling up
Amazing chemistry and banter between the hero and the heroine
Really sweet moments
Hot scenes
Happily ever after

✨ NOW AVAILABLE ✨
When I read Funny Business and Miles appeared I had a feeling he would be one of those that goes straight into my heart. Then, in Attachment Theory he gave us a little something from him and that was so meaningful it kept me waiting (im)patiently for his story.

It's not easy for me to describe what I'm feeling and thinking especially when it's a second language to me but I'm gonna do my best to explain how this book affected me.
This book was so funny with witty dialogues and hilarious group text convos that I laughed and smiled and really I enjoyed every thing in it.
I think kayley's humor is a treasure. And I also think that Kayley took out her guns when she wrote those spicy scenes!
Add that to the beautiful couple with so much love and honesty that took my breath away and mix that with a little girl that all she wants is to sing and it doesn't matter she doesn't know how

Miles is the best thing that happened to the Brodie Brothers - especially with those sad brown eyes. He's a devoted father and a good brother and son. He is loyal and reliable and he is also a fixer. Kind of.
What Miles Brodie isn't? He isn't complete.
And then he meets Aria.
Sometimes I love the inner monologues so much because it's the whole truth and the most important moments we, the readers, have with that character and Miles's brain was the first thing that entered my heart.

Aria is a talented actress\singer\diractor, a genuinely nice and happy person that makes her dreams come true no matter what people think or say. She also likes to surf and relax whenever she can.
What Aria isn't? She isn't a quitter and when she knows what she wants - she WILL get it.
Aria's courage and willingness is a power we all wish we have.

Wow this book. Just wow!
The incredible chemistry Miles and Aria had was so powerful and so sweet my heart exploded with so many emotions.
When you read a book and you laugh hysterically while getting emotional and also "HOT" you know you found the perfect book.

Just know that the whole Brodie gang and their significant other + The lazy wingman and Grandma Todd is here with memorable moments that will warm your heart and put happy tears in your eyes.

“Ever since we met at the beach, you’re all I see when I close my eyes.”

Good Vibrations had me hooked from the very first page because it was absolutely delightful. I’ve enjoyed the other Brodie brother books, but I LOVED this one. Miles and Aria were perfection and I couldn’t get enough of them.

Aria is a former child star who now works in children’s musical theatre. She’s pure sunshine and I loved her carefree spirit. She is living her life to make herself happy after trying to please other people for too many years.

OMG, I loved Miles Brodie and all his grumpiness and bossiness. He’s rude and condescending, but somehow you cannot help but love him. Miles lives for his daughter and work. He has no time for anything else in life, but when he sees Aria for the first time, he’s unable to get her out of his mind.

“You were never a collection of problems that needed to be solved, Aria. You were the solution.”

The snarky banter between Miles and Aria is EVERYTHING! They are pure electric heat and I’m surprised their chemistry didn’t light my kindle on fire. These two balance each other out and are the perfect complement to one another. Miles grounds Aria a bit while she loosens him up.

Full of heart, so much humor and a lot of heat, Good Vibrations is an emotional and entertaining story that is so much fun. I laughed and smiled so much while reading it, but it also tugged at my heartstrings. I cannot wait to hear it brought to life in the audiobook. I hope this isn’t the last we see of the Brodie family.

Oh, Miles Brodie. Sigh. If only I could find myself a man who loves me like you love Aria. You speak my love language, you amazing man. Acts of service and, while it is not a love language, growly intensity. I'm afraid I would never be able to say no to you.

And Aria, you are such a giving, kind person. Even though Miles paid you to, your care for Macy and willingness to find ways to communicate with her in a way that gave her strength and built her up. You, my friend, were meant to be a teacher. I have zero idea how you Miles resisted you for so long.

To the rest of the cast: Good gravy, I love your family. I want to be a part of your group text messages. You are so much fun and you love one another so very much. Seriously, you are #familygoals.

I have loved every book in the Brodie Brothers Series and this is, by far, my favorite. Miles Brodie is my favorite of the Brodie Brothers, maybe because I relate to him so much. I've let the comfort of others deny me what I wanted and Miles withheld himself from a person he felt incredibly drawn to for one of his clients. I am so glad he and Aria found their way to one another.

I listened to the audiobooks for the first two before reading the ebooks. This time, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and I read it in a day. I am definitely buying the audiobook because I need to hear Jason Clarke voice Miles. Gah. I can already imagine it!

This book is going on my Comfort Reads and Would Read Again lists.

To Kayley Loring, you are a writing goddess. Thank you for giving me these wonderful stories with fun casts and dialogues that help me to escape my daily life. I adore you and I adore your books.

Aria is my childhood dreams come to life…I’ve always wanted to sing and dance and act but I realized I was a Macy. But after something years and getting married and having my own kids and putting them in dance and our dance studio starting an adult tap and jazz “just for fun”… I am finally living one of my dreams of dancing! This year is extra special because us “Dance Moms” (we are literally dancing moms and not just watching our kids dance dance moms) have a special ballet dance with our daughters!

So this book feels extra special at just the right time!

Miles…oh grumpy moody poopiehead Miles…I honestly can’t pick a favorite Brodie brother. They are all different but the same in the way they love which is all in once they get over whatever is making them a blockhead.
I love Miles and Aria so much. And I love Miles, Macy, and Aria together. And I love all the Brodies and their significant others together. I want to be in on their group texts. Those are the best.

So, if you can’t tell. I really really really liked this book and everything about it.

~I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise. ~

4.5 stars!

The third and final book in the Brodie Brothers series, this is the story of eldest Brodie brother, Miles, and the woman he has been crushing on for years, Aria.

Miles is the grumpy, more serious member of the Brodie family, but he is just as witty and hilarious as his brothers. He is a divorced single Dad to an adorably precocious 8 year old daughter, and is a successful entertainment lawyer living a busy yet mostly quiet life.

His solitary world is upended one morning while he is taking a moment for himself on the beach and spots a woman surfing who literally takes his breath away. He is instantly smitten, but soon learns that she is the ex-girlfriend of his newest client, and therefore completely off limits, so he reluctantly walks away… sort of. Over the next three years, Miles continuously places himself right in Aria’s path, not making contact, but still in sight. He runs along the beach where she surfs, he shows up at her favourite coffee shop, and though he never makes contact, his infatuation for her continues to grow.

Aria is a former child star whose life didn’t turn out exactly the way she had planned, but she has bravely persevered, and is currently writing and directing a play for a local children’s theatre group. She is all too aware of Miles’ presence in her life, and she’s just as smitten as he is, though given his constant dismissal of her, she assumes he hates her. Until she finally decides to break the ice.

It seems like things are going well, until they both learn that Miles’ daughter, Macy, keeps trying out for Aria’s plays and, because she’s such a horrific singer, Aria continuously rejects her. Awkward!

She’s your daughter?”
“She is the light of my life, yes. And you are the murderer of her dreams.”

In a delicious twist, Miles offers to financial back Aria’s play if she agrees to work with Macy on some lessons and give her the lead role. Needing the money, and so enchanted by little Macy and her fervent desire to act and sing, Aria agrees – but in another twist, her condition is that Miles also has voice lessons and agrees to perform in her play. It’s a little unethical, sure, but it’s a great set-up which brings Aria right into Miles’ life in a big way. Let the games begin.

I love these characters! Miles and Aria are both fantastically entertaining, funny, smart and sarcastic, and their inner monologues are so much fun! And together, their dynamic is awesome. They tease and banter, their witty back-and-forths had me laughing out loud, and their chemistry is electric, with a witty, sexually-charged flirtation bubbling through each of their encounters. They have such a strong connection, and I loved the anticipation as everything builds between them.

This woman will be the end of me, but she should be the beginning.

It’s funny and sexy, and you can see the growing emotion between them. More than just mad lust, these two truly feels something for each other, and I loved watching them come together. They don’t play games, they’re so meant to be, and it’s easy and natural, and so full of feeling.

“This is happening, isn’t it?” I whisper. “It’s a thing.”
She sighs. “Yeah. It feels like a thing. Do you want it to be a thing?”
“Yes.” I take her hand. “I want us to be a thing.”

Along the way, we get to see the ins and outs of the play, which is a remake of Alice in Wonderland. As much as I enjoyed seeing Aria and Macy work together, and watching little Macy fully embrace her stardom like the diva she is, I didn’t need quite this level of details, and skimmed the song details to get back to the more personal stuff.

As always, Miles’ family have his back, and are a big part of the story. His two brothers and his always-helpful parents are there to support and offer advice, and the family text conversations had me laughing so hard. They are all so funny, and are a true highlight of the whole series because they are just gold!

It’s pretty much angst and drama free, though Miles and Aria do have some issues that they need to confront. It brings intensity to the story, and is really well written, and there’s a happy ending which left me super satisfied, and I loved these two together so much.

“Ever since we met at the beach, you’re all I see when I close my eyes.”

I loved this book. It’s a fun, easy, romantic read, and a fantastic end to the series.

‘Here’s what I know: Agony is having a daughter who wants something that she can’t have and you can’t seem to give it to her. Agony is wanting to make sweet, angry love to a beautiful woman who is off-limits and also isn’t giving your daughter what she wants.’

Kayley Loring is the queen of making us laugh and swoon, as we float off in a happy bubble of book love. Our bubble of happy swooniness is inflated by the sheer love we have for Kayley and her characters. It’s fuelled by laughter and love, dirty puns, and text messages. Look, you know what you’re going to get when you pick up this Author’s books as she has a formula, and if you’re a subscriber to her brand of crazy like we are, you’re going to want to read Good Vibrations, the third book in the Brodie Brothers series. If you haven’t read any of Kayley Loring’s books, you’re going to want to add them all to your list! We’ve loved Kayley Loring through every single one of her books now, and this love affair is a grower and a stayer.

“You were never a collection of problems that needed to be solved, Aria. You were the solution.”

No one writes family group text messaging like Kayley Loring writes them, it makes us want them to add us to their convos, and to be fair, we text some real autocorrect corkers too, so would fit right in, without needing lube or anything! In Good Vibrations, we finally get to spend quality time with the last Brodie brother. It was both exciting and sad, as we will miss them, can we be adopted? Or we can be the crazy cousins that pop in on special occasions?

MAMA BRODIE: 👍

MAMA BRODIE: 🍆

MAMA BRODIE: 💥

MAMA BRODIE: 😉

MILES: I’m not comfortable with this.

MAMA BRODIE: Oh heavens, Miles! You still need to lighten up.

So, Miles is the older broody and sarcastic brother, the divorced entertainment lawyer, dad of a young precocious daughter, Macy. They’re two peas in a pod really, in some ways, each very serious and determined. Both needing to let go, have fun, and follow their hearts desire, which for Macy is getting the role of Alice in Wonderland, and for Miles, the surfer girl he just can’t forget or let go of. Miles is kind and passionate in his very own unique way. His own brand of protective loyalty manifesting into the most wonderful gestures and situations that are pure comedy gold.

“Ever since we met on the beach, you’re all I see when I close my eyes.”

Laid-back and Serious meeting on a beach – T E A S I N G – First came ‘pants in socks’ – Then came ‘perky peach’ – Then came three years of sexual misery. Miles has had it bad for Aria for years and when he finally gets an ‘in’ he really gets right in there! As for Aria, well she couldn’t be more adorable if she tried. She’s fun, feisty, and fearless, and she fancies Mr Broodie right back. Then lo and behold they’re brought together three years later when a young and exuberant Macy, auditions for the Alice in Wonderland adaptation which Aria wrote. Chaos ensues because how do you tell the man you fancy that his daughter can’t sing or dance? They say opposites attract and that sure is the case here! The intense chemistry and romance and the witty shenanigans had us giggling and melting in equal measure.

“I would love to be a part of your family. I’m ready.”
He grins and shakes his head. “You think it’s just another group text convo, but it’s one of the biggest and most confusing commitments you’ll ever make in your life.”

Kayley Loring is our go-to Author when life gets too serious when our reading mood dictates laughs, swoony love, and pure unadulterated happiness. She’s our comfort blanket, our very own happy pill when we’re feeling blue…minus the cheese! A brilliant writer, a queen of banter, swoon, and comedic timing, she never fails to deliver. Long may she reign!

Title: Good Vibrations (Brodie Brothers Book 3)
Author: Kayley Loring
Hero/Heroine: Miles & Aria
Trope: Single Dad/Romantic Comedy

THE GOOD 😀

Man, have I missed the Brodie family. From their intense family game nights to their hilarious text messages, they had me in stitches throughout this book.
Miles, the grumpy older Brodie brother who we’ve met in previous books, is on the beach one day when he spots Aria, former Disney Channel actress. After introducing herself, Miles realises that she’s the ex girlfriend of one of his clients, and beats a hasty retreat. Fast forward three years, Aria is casting for an Alice in Wonderland inspired play that she has written. One in which Miles adorable yet serious daughter Macy, is desperate to be in.
As with previous Brodie men and their love interests, I adored Miles and Aria. Their banter and chemistry was next level, and it was a breath of fresh air how honest and upfront Aria was about what she wanted. She didn’t play some coy game or keep her feelings hidden; she put it all out there, and I loved that about her. There was no miscommunication and it was all so mature (apart from the fart jokes but, come on, who doesn’t love a fart joke?).
Miles, in all his intense and broody gorgeousness, was actually quite vulnerable, and I loved how he was constantly striving to be a good father to Macy, and to give her whatever she needed. As ever, the dynamic between the Brodie brothers was as incredible as ever, and I loved how they never took Miles and his grumpy disposition too seriously.
Yet another hilarious and highly enjoyable read from this author. I can’t believe this is the last in the Brodie brothers series, someone hold me while I cry into my cup of tea.

THE BAD ☹️

Bitch, you serious?

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: Witty banter, steam and a cracking family dynamic, what’s not to love?
STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥
STAR RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This had me laughing out loud so many times!

I am living for the family group texts.. literally cracking up, and some of the emails.

Who doesn’t love a grumpy/sunshine story? Aria is a young, creative, bright, and sunny children’s musical director and surfer. Miles is a grumpy, divorced, single dad who’s an entertainment lawyer and is always scowling. His family is constantly giving him hell.

These two are an unlikely match but are so perfect for each other. The way Miles desires and dotes on Aria is the sweetest and hottest thing. I love how open and honest Aria is. She’s sweet and brave and goes after what she loves.

Macy was too funny, and I could just picture a child belting out lyrics at the top of her lungs, but even though she was a diva, she also really loved her daddy and really worked hard for her dreams.

This was such a sweet story, with some excellent steamy scenes and I adored it !

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

*NOW AVAILABLE!!!!!*

I REALLY want my own Brodie brother, but now there aren't any left!!!! As sad as I am that there are no more Brodie brothers to read about after this book, I really loved Miles and Arias love story so much! Miles had the best inner dialogue EVER, seriously made me laugh out loud. Something about the characters that Kayley Loring writes always feels so relatable and so real. I love Miles relationship with his daughter, and how he would do anything to make her dreams come true. The musical that brings them all together is such a fun part of the book, I'm starting to think I need to finally listen to an audio book so I can hear all the musical numbers out loud lol.

As much as I absolutely LOVE grumpy Miles and Aria, my favorite character in this book might be Mama Brodie. If you have read the previous books in this series then you know what I'm talking about! The text conversations between mom and pops Brodie, and the three brothers is such a great addition to the books. They are always my favorite parts and always make me laugh so hard. Another fave that I was so happy to read again was the return of "The Lazy Wingmen." My friends are lucky they aren't currently single, otherwise I would be tempted to give it a try lol.

Miles started working his way into my heart pretty quickly. The way he felt about Aria, yet kept himself at a distance for so long made me root for them even more. Then when they finally realized their feelings for each other and Miles let himself have the happiness he deserved, I fell the rest of the way in love with him.

If you want a book guaranteed to make you smile, laugh, and give you all the butterflies, I highly recommend Miles and Arias story!

I just want to scream it from the top of my lungs, a rap rhyme that would make Mama Brodie proud: “Oh Miles, you Grumpy Grumperson. You've officially moved up to my favorite Brodie brother because I can’t resist a grumpy, single Dad.” Rhyming and rapping is not my strong suit so I’m going to leave that to Kayley but you get the idea. “Good Vibrations” is a feel good, laugh out loud, steamy rom-com that will leave you breathless and wiping tears off your face from laughing so hard.

Miles has been divorced for three years and is a single Dad to a daughter who wants to shine on the stage. When he takes her to an audition for a stage play, he runs into the woman who got away because he can’t have her. Aria is the playwright and director for the play his daughter, Macy, is auditioning for. Macy has a huge heart and huge aspirations but needs a little help with bringing it all together. Miles hires Aria to be her vocal coach while she is rehearsing to be the lead in Aria’s play. Miles and Aria’s chemistry is just as strong as the day they met and Miles refuses to let his grumpy attitude get in the way.

I just loved, loved Miles and Aria. The grumpy/sunshine troupe is my favorite to read and they were absolutely perfect. Every grumpy moment that Miles had was followed by the perfect sunshine moment counteracted by Aria. These two were made for each other. Their wit and banter kept a smile on my face while I laughed at every witty comeback they had. Kayley Loring is a banter genius and it’s always on point with each book she writes. Mama Brodie and her unfortunate texting abilities when she had a few too many had me snort laughing while reading.

I cannot wait to experience this story again in audiobook when it is released. Kayley has hired an all-star narrator cast and I already know it’s going to be an epic listen.

***Available Now!!*** Miles is my very favorite Brodie brother. The inner dialogue and how these characters all interact with each other is fantastic. This book is hilarious, warm, and deals with some very heavy things - divorce, navigating tricky family dynamics, handling a child as a single parent - in a very realistic but not overly dramatic or angsty way. I love that these characters communicate, even if it's messy. And of course, the build up is amazing and leads to steamy scenes, so that's fun. 😉 I'm starting a petition for more Brodie books, somehow.

This book was such a blast! Hilarious and sentimental all at the same time. A grumpy Hollywood entertainment lawyer meets a surfing girl and falls for her like a ton of rocks. In my opinion, it was love at first sight for both, and that scene was so dreamy. But Miles was still being a Grumpy Grumperson and it took some time before he got into action and realized what was important.

This story was really about grumpyness and sunshine, because Aria is everything that is nice and bright. She’s had her bad times, and she drove all the way from New York to Hollywood to be her own person and not anyone’s second choice. She knew her worth and she was not going to negotiate, no siree! She was exactly what Miles needed.

Miles about broke my heart when he muses about what it takes to be loved and have a long lasting marriage, like his parents. He’s still hurting from his broken marriage, not because he still loves his ex, but because he failed at making a woman happy.

“What does she want, and why can’t it just be me? The man who will never deserve her. The man who is always right about everything except how to behave in some magical way that will keep the woman he loves happy and in love with him forever.”

Macy was a little diva! At the beginning she was such an intense and serious little girl. She also needed some of Aria’s sunshine and I was so glad that although she stayed intense, she let go a little and was a happy and fun little girl again.

And the best of everything was Mama Brodie! Those group text conversations are a blast, but this time, the conversations between Miles and Aria using the Cheshire Cat’s unique language were every bit as hilarious. I had a great time reading this book, because Miles with his brothers are one comic blast, then Miles with his daughter is a tenderizer moment, and Miles with Aria are cosmic hot.

With little moments of angst, some moments where they talk about what is important and what they want out of life, and the fantastic hysterically funny moments (include fart jokes!), this was zany and wonderful and I loved it many times.

I LOVE THIS BOOK !!!!
Kayley Loring is always THE Perfect tonic to get me through any bad mood, because after reading one of her books,I am always left with a big smile on my face.
They are like a comforting hug from an old friend.
Miles Brodie is a dream.
I adored him just as much as I adore this story.
Miles and Aria's romance is EVERYTHING...It has all the things you could want in a Love
story that will make you laugh out loud. Its so funny, super steamy and the sweetest.
Miles is a single Dad,a Mr.Grumpy that you can't stop yourself from falling in Love with.
His Daughter 8 year old Macy wants to be a singer and it is at one of the many auditions she drags him to,that he meets Aria.
Aria is a playright and is like a ray of sunshine to Miles's thunderstorm...Macy is auditioning for a part in Aria's production. The chemistry betweeen Aria and Miles is palpable and it is from this point that we go on a very amusing constantly entertaining journey to Love between these two characters.
The Brodie's are one of my favourite familys EVER !!!...I just love them so much,I could read their group texts everyday...Momma Brodie is pure comedy gold...
Kayley Loring has excelled on the 3rd and final Brodie book...(Sad face)...writing witty, smart, sweet storys that are packed full of humour and emotion too.

Good Vibrations by Kayley Loring is the third Brodie brother we all knew we needed. There is something about the way Kayley writes that has sitcom all over it. Each one of Kayleys' book could easily be a full season of your favorite show. I am always in awe of her writing style.
Just like all the other Brodie brothers, Miles did not disappoint. This Grumpy McGrumperson, bossy, growly, dependable girl dad lawyer is every girls book boyfriend dream. Miles does nothing far from bribery to make sure the leading lady of his life - sassy, yell singing 8 year old Macy gets the leading part shes always wanted. Even when a purple suit & British accent is in his future.
Aria - sweet boho, surfing Aria. I LOVED Aria
- Former Disney star - leaves the "Great Vibes"
to pursue her dreams of writing theater for
children. Aria was just so freaking wholesome
hit after hit - and she always saw the good in
others, she was passionate and genuinely
cared for Macy and Miles.
Overall, I totally loved this story and CANNOT
wait for the full cast to be back in my ears
with this hilarious story.
PS - Mama Brodies' cellphone should have it's
own book!

Available now -- What a great way to end this series! Miles has been such a funny grump through the whole thing, and I was so excited to have the spotlight on him. It turns out that he is hiding some deep feelings underneath that grumpy exterior. I got choked up several times by the sweet things he said.
Aria is a lovely match for him because she seems to see what everyone else is missing about Miles. She is absolutely hilarious, and she has the perfect temperament for children's theater. I loved her clear sense of self and her kindness.
I have seen that lots of readers relate to Macy. I never wanted to perform, but I absolutely was the "too serious to be having any fun" kid when I was eight. I was pulling for her success and happiness right from the beginning.
In addition to all of that, we get appearances by other favorite characters in the series, and they bring their special snark with them. I laughed through all of that! This whole series has been tons of fun.

Its no secret, I am a big Kayley Loring fan. My first book of hers was book 1 in her Brodie Brothers series so reading this one was an absolute must. Well, she did not disappoint. This book has everything I enjoy and expect to find in her books, it was hilarious (laugh out loud funny), sweet, steamy and the banter between characters was just spot on. There is a musical element in this one which makes a great addition to the story. I highly recommend this as a fun and entertaining read.

I am so looking forward to listening to the audiobook version. After reading the book and knowing who is narrating, it is going to be fabulous.
