This was a good read. Kate is in charge of a company that wants to build a new road. Brody is the guy that wants to stop it. They end up falling for each other. However, things are rough because of his health. Thankfully in the end everything works out and they get their happy ending.

Love and War in the Highlands of Utah

When the tall, handsome, darkly bearded, green-eyed Callaghan brother entered the elevator of the Emerald Clover Construction & Development Company of Salt Lake City, Utah, his intention was to appeal to the company’s CEO to re-think the planned construction of a new expressway slated to cut through the beautiful, scenic mountainous area near Grey Peak National Park just outside of the small town of Sunville, Utah. Broderick—Brody—was the sweet-talking Callaghan.

But, when another passenger, Katherine—Kate —O’Porter, a beautiful woman with gorgeous red hair like a sunset, closer to a golden orange than a fiery crimson with bright, brilliant blue eyes like the ocean with long, fluttering lashes—also enters the elevator, and from her selection of floor buttons, is also headed to the offices of Emerald Clover Construction and Development Company, fate seems to be smiling on the fine-looking descendants of the Emerald Isle.

And now, unknowingly, the advocate for the protection of the green hills of Grey Peak National Park, is about to interact in very tight quarters with the very person whose company is currently threatening the beautiful landscape and its flora and fauna by the construction on the proposed by-pass by. I have to say, out of all the romance/spicy books I’ve read, this had a good, hang on the edge of your seat, story line. I’ve never cried through a sad/happy movie, but this almost had me. I love the characters’ banter, perfect love/hate relationship.

The only thing that threw me, is the summary to capture the book. It really doesn’t summarize or explain the book like how it actually reads. Brody is not her father’s sworn enemy, in fact, her father doesn’t even know who Brody is until she said who he was. Also, her father is not ruthless, in fact he’s almost like a teddy bear with strong work ethics for his company.

I wouldn't call this an enemies to lovers romance. Brody and Kate never were enemies, they were just in opposite sides of a cause.

I do have to make one statement about something that was said in this book. Not "everyone" loves Friends or considers it an American classic.

Brody and Kate had great chemistry. Their banter was witty, and sometimes humorous. Even when they were at odds, they still maintained a level of support for one another.

As Brody, Kate, their families and friends went through one of the most difficult situations imaginable, their was still that love, support, and faith carrying them through.

I thought this book was sweet, romantic, steamy, touching, and full of emotion. There were a couple of real life issues that Brody and Kate managed to work through successfully. I thought Brody's journey was written well with much empathy.

Brody and Kate got way more than they bargained for as a result of being stuck in an elevator. They got their HEA, and I got not only an epilogue, but an extended epilogue. Although, I am still not sure that the title fits. At least not for me.

This book was brilliant and the main characters pull me through so many emotions I even cried at one point and it was so good it kept me up till late just find out how it all turns out. Kate is the CEO of the families construction and Development company Emerald Clover and is the elevator going up to a meeting when the elevator stops she has a panic attack but the man in there with her calms her down and the attraction is instant between them but all that changes when elevator starts moving again they soon realise who they are too each other. Brody just wants to stop the construction of a freeway next to his hometown national park but he never expected to meet a gorgeous female in an elevator who he helps out but it soon turns out she is the enemy but he wants to see her again anyway and they both agree to put there issues aside and start dating and having something good in his life will help him get through his illness. This was a book that sent me on a emotional roller coaster ride that I loved and didn’t want to get off. Great and an amazing book. . Changing For Love And Fighting For Love -
Brody and Kate didn’t get off to a good start, but they each soon realise they have an unbelievable connection, that couldn’t be ignored. The issue that was in contention actually brought them together and took them on a whirlwind romance ride. However, Brody was still apprehensive of making it permanent because of what he was dealing with personally. It would take Kate’s life changing news to help Brody come around.

This story was really moving and showed how true love can conquer all. The story has drama, romance, trust, determination, love and heartbreaking moments that will have you tearing up. My experience reading this amazing book was really worth it and I will be very happy to recommend it.

Brody and Kate when the elevator they're on stops suddenly. Kate starts to panic, and Brody helps her remain calm until its running again. However, the closeness they had in the elevator disappears when he finds out who she is. Brody wants Kate's construction company to not mess with the park near where he lives. After they talk, they get to know each other some and end up tabling the work stuff and start seeing each other. Will Kate stop her construction? Can they be together?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Big Daddy is book eighteen in the series Mountain Men of Liberty (at least I think it is - I’m pretty sure) by author K.C. Crowne. Ok so this one will pull at your heartstrings. You might even shed a tear or two. You’ll definitely be rooting for the characters.
Personally Big Daddy touched my heart - it reminded me of the times my son and I dealt with this issue. Hardest part of being a mom. Also it was incredible to witness just how strong my son is.
Anywho, KC Crowne talent shows through, Crowne has created this world of possibilities and dreams.

Everyone has heard of opposites attract. But with Kate and Brody has gone to a whole new level. I loved the tension between these two, not to mention the sexual tension. The book had more than everything, my emotions were all over the board. The author did a fantastic job of not only bringing family together, but the real meaning of love and being there for each other not just in the good times but in the bad times. The happily ever after was just the icing on the cake for this book, because honestly partway through the book I had my doubts. But the author brought it all together so perfectly.

What a beautiful story this is. An emotional story of Brody and Kate. They meet in the elevator. Despite the allure, things don't go smoothly as Kate runs the company that is destroying his city. Despite it is hard because they both fall for each other and you wonder will they find their happiness in each other and their HEA? The storyline and build up is great and the characters and characters fit together perfectly, and it keeps your attention on the story which made it hard for me to put the book down. In short, this is definitely recommended!!

Kristen & Brod

I am a huge fan of KC Crowne, reading several in this Mountain series. Of all I've read thus far, this one kept me on edge; tearing me up. Why a twist from her other books with the siblings.
For someone so young to endure the pain and suffering was deja vu again similar to childhood of mother's demise.
Love the chemistry between the two and Kristen feistiness. Loved of the story of cancer survivor to be there of his quads. Enjoy the whole family dynamics. Readers you would have no regrets.

Now I want to hear about Dylan and Levi's story to complete the series for me 💕

The luck of the Irish helps in this story.

This was a wonderful and gripping story.... I couldn't put it down. Stayed up til 3:30am to finish it. Imagine a scene full of mountains, their peaks covered in freshly fallen snow. When you breathe in, you smell the pine and the wet forest floor. You hear birds chirping, along with the distant rush of a river somewhere far away. It’s a bit cold beneath the shade of the towering trees, but there are patches of warmth where the sunlight streams through the canopy. Every now and then a breeze passes by, and you take a deep breath. Fresh, crisp air fills your lungs, and you feel totally, undeniably at peace.

Oh my, what an amazing read, edgy, angsty but underpinned by the most heart wrenching yet heart healing love story. I won't detail the story itself but it had me laughing, crying, holding my breath & so envious of the explosive sexual chemistry between the hero & heroine. Not convinced there wasn't some divine intervention to turn them from fighting to loving & from pushing her away to welcoming her back. This resonated big time & I highly recommend this flawlessly written, full length book by this incredible author. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

Heartwarming, romantic, emotional book. Positively breathtaking. Brody contacts Kate at Emerald Clover Construction to convince her to halt construction on a freeway through their quaint, country town. Brody is hooked at first sight on seeing Kate and hates that they are on opposite sides, but he just has to get to know her. There’s just something about her that calls to him. The trials, arguments, tribulations, drama and their ultimate happily ever after ending will have your heart in a vice grip. Are they strong enough to get through everything? They are, and it’s absolutely magnificent to read. Great, great book.

In this book we are introduced to Katherine "Kate" O'Porter & get Brody Callaghan's story. When this book opens we find Kate and Brody trapped in an elevator together. When they get out they realize they are rivals. See Kate is the construction crew that Brody is there to give a piece of his mind to. Can these two find the HEA they almost got in the elevator or will their viewpoints in life make that impossible?

Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Brody and Kate- so Emotional

Of all the big daddy, mountain man books, this one was one of the most emotional I’ve read. I literally had tears coming out of my eyes as I read chapter after chapter and thought, “oh no not again! this Has to get better for them!”
I SO WANTED their happily ever after! and thankfully in the end I did get it . This enemies to lovers Romance was more than I expected ! It was sweet, it was heart wrenching , and it was satisfying in the end to see everybody get exactly what they deserved! ❤️ Thus is a must read! I loved this book! Any thing by this author is a great read!

This was a really emotional enemies to lovers romance. It was the best story I have ever read by this author, it had so many elements that played so well together. Brody and Kate had a different meet cute and it forged a great connection between, one that even remained after finding out they were enemies. Brody was a true alpha with a soft streak and I loved it. The story had me both laughing and crying, though probably mostly the latter. But it has a HEA so who could ask for more..

Kate runs the company that’s going to tear up his mountain and wants the opportunity to change her mind. They are adorable together because they can’t deny their attraction. But then Brody turns up at Kate's business to ask her to stop the construction of a highway that will destroy some of countryside that holds special memories for him. Kate refuses but Brody tries to build a protest group against her. His opposition is difficult for Kate because there is an electrifying attraction between them. Then Brody is taken ill. What will happen?

This was a wonderful addition to this series. Must have been fate or something...

3.5/5 ⭐️So, I loved Brody and Kate’s story but there were several inconsistencies throughout it. From where their dad worked, to Sabrina’s age and Brody’s not drinking to saying he couldn’t have beer with his meds. Their rivalry kept my eyes glued to the screen and laughing. The elements of forgiveness, of love and support from family/friends and of healing from not only physical but emotional pain made this a touching story. Beware of the abundance of F-bombs and other colorful words!!!

As their relationship develops, Brody and Kate must work through a number of issues and some complex emotions. Brody will have to be strong even in the face of a challenge to his life, not just physically but in his fortitude as well. Kate works in a typically male-associated profession but doesn't instantly fall into line with what Brody wants her to do - she looks for a solution and comes up with an inventive compromise. The story was a little intense at times before Brody and Kate could reach their HEA. It was nice to see more of the Callaghan siblings.

Great!

I chose this rating because this is actually a really great book. I really enjoyed all of the characters. This was a book of protection, compromise, being there through the ups and downs, and believing that people do and can change. I really enjoyed Brody and Kate story. The author didn't amazing job with putting these characters together. Kate's niece/daughter Sabrina she was a great add to this story. I enjoyed this story. Really really great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.

Kate is the builder and Brody is trying to stop it. Despite this the attraction between them is hot and they fall in love. I loved how St. Patrick's keeps reappearing in the story. I was really happy about how everything came together in the end.

This one is a cute read, but is also deeper than a cute read. A female CEO forced into single motherhood due to family problems, a tree hugger with health problems... There is no way this should have worked as far as plot goes, but it gels beautifully. This should be light fiction at it's best, yet it goes above and beyond while remaining fun to read. Wonderful character work and good penmanship male this a beautful read.

KC had me hooked from the very beginning. I laughed and cried right along with Kate & Brody. The Callahan family is full of some incredible characters. In this book you could really see the differences in them. This book showed so much emotion as they went thru all the medical issues and Kate & Brody's fight about the freeway.

Worth the fight
This book is about Kate and Brody. Their ‘meet cute’ as I’ll call it, happens in an elevator. They find themselves on opposite ends of his business concerns, and there will be other obstacles (one I’m far too familiar with personally), but things may just work out. It’s an emotional, sweet and steamy story that will have you sighing and swooning. Can’t go wrong with those Callaghan boys!

Kate gets stuck in an elevator which is a problem as she easily gets claustrophobic so when her panic attack kicks in, Brody a stranger stuck with her helps through her attack. When they introduce each she finds out he was coming to see her to try and convince her to cease the plans of her current project that would destroy part of nature trail that is dear to him and his family. Kate is attracted to Brody but is that enough to put a relationship before profit?
